The final chapter of BibliophiLe is up!

It's done everyone.

That's right, if you want to read the completed My Hero Academia fic focusing on two amazing side characters in their third year finding love and learning to accept who they are, come on down!

The slow burn bursts into flames in this chapter, and I hope it leaves a smile on your face!

Monoma learns that everyone cares about him much more than he anticipated, because of course our boy had a confidence complex. Kaminari swoops in to solidify that yes, indeed, Monoma is the best thing ever and he would do anything to let him know that.

He gets a little wild. What else would you expect?

I could think of no better way to share the news than this!

So when I was 17, my cat went missing and I'd given up hope of ever seeing him again.

Until on Monday, 27th of May, 2024, my friend sent me a FB post asking 'isn't that your mother?' about the person named on the microchip.

Here he is! 16 years old, and found safe, twelve whole years after he went missing!

Yesterday (Tuesday the 28th of May, 2024) I went to the rescue that had him, and I reclaimed my boy, renaming him Artie! (He'd originally been called 'Cat' because my mother and I couldn't decide on a name)

He's home safe with me now, currently inhabiting my bathroom and purring up a storm every time someone goes in there!

I'll be doing slow introductions between him and my current cat to give them the best possible chance of living in harmony!

I know the internet is full of hyperbole but I can honestly say that[to me] every Superman production has missed the mark on the Clark/Superman difference until now. I can confidently say that because it’s irked me for years.

This might be the first production to actually really get into the weeds with some simple changes, use lighting, costuming, hair&makeup (peep the contour!)to convey that Clark and Supes look nothing alike. This is so cool to me!!!!! They finally did it.

Shout out to the departments. Shout out to whoever realized they needed way bigger (longer)eyeglass frames with a thick bridge that would alter the appearance of his nose making him unclockable. Whoever you are, I love this work. I love how the base of the cape on the shoulders and the collar work together. It gets the job done but also looks like it was comfortable to wear during hours of shooting. I love that supes has a bit of contouring in the makeup differing from Clark. Shout out to whoever decided to make Clark’s suits oversized and flimsy! It accurately demonstrates Clark’s attempt to look like a little fish in a big pond. He’s not just like that; everything is a choice with him.

Shout out to Peter King and Lindsay McCallister on the hair design/hair story. They did their big one. Clark’s hair is such a big change(so fluffy and undressed!) and accurately shows how someone would manipulate their curly hair to change their appearance. Superman’s hair really works. Honey, that hair is dressed! It is reminiscent enough to please fans but different enough to feel fresh. I like that it’s rounded on top instead of square.

Also I’ve never seen this actor before in my life but he is embodying my man in the trailer so that is also exciting. I don’t even care if the movie is good. I’m a bit over hero movies but I love me some Supes. Everyone seems to really be invested in the visuals of this project. The commitment to color is commendable after years of dark grey low lit mess. Anyway…

I love new faces. I love movies! I love departments! I love unions! I hate David Zaslav!

Anyway shout out to Dewey who constantly looked like he was having the worst time of his fucking life in the pitches

Just an 11 year old pissed off at the world it seems😭

#insane he ended up being so happy go lucky in canon #like in the art book they talk about the character shift dewey had once ben auditioned #and he made them realize they could take a more comedic approach with him #but initially dewey’s character seemed very negative and irritable #they had the label ‘the bad boy’ of the 3 on him for a bit too #bc of the massive chip on his shoulder and how unsatisfied he was at the time #and tbh you can see bits of that in the pilot #dewey’s character and overall demeanor is very different in the first two eps of s1 #i LOVE my boy as the bright impulsive ball of sunshine and danger that he is #but this original pitch of him intrigues me a lot #like i can talk about pitch!dewey for hours bc #kinda feels like wasted potential idk LMAO #bc he didn’t entirely disappear at least in s1 so #just a lot of dewey thoughts #bc that’s my boy🫶#ducktales #ducktales 2017 #dewey duck

We're nearly at 100 comments on BibliophiLe and 60k words so far?!

I'm blown away by my own accomplishment at jumping back into writing with such fervor, and also at the many times I've been able to chat back and forth with people liking my story.

So ... Another milestone post? Hooray!

Why did I choose Kuroiro Shihai as Monoma's best friend?

I know, typically the choice is Kendou. She's always on top of Monoma, keeping him in line, dragging him around, and making sure he doesn't obliterate their reputation.

Kendou always felt like more of a sister, in my eyes.

I was far more interested in Monoma's strongest bond being with a character who would appreciate the flair Monoma has for the dramatic, his snide comments, and necessity to sneak his quirk in around his opponents through deft movement.

That felt like Kuroiro.

In the matches with Class B versus Class A, we see Kuroiro has a penchant for theatrics when he and Tokoyami interact.

He and Monoma both like to trash talk to throw off their opponent.

He is also incredibly sneaky and sly, the nature of his quirk making him roguish.

Monoma does this too, with his reflexes so he can snag a quirk. Kuroiro and Monoma are also supportive in style. They both rely on outside forces to be useful - Monoma with others' quirks, and Kuroiro with the shadows.

Plus, look at these two and their style:

They match each other's vibe so hard.

I can only imagine when Monoma was planning his hero costume, Kuroiro was walking by in his every day, casual, bomb ass trenchcoat combo and he peeked at Monoma's design and knew that they both understood the importance of making an entrance. Billowing jackets and tail coats.

They remind me of Sherlock and Watson.

Monoma is Sherlock, lost in his thoughts, mulling over the latest mystery with a fine toothed comb. Losing his mind, bit by bit.

Kuroiro is the steady force of Watson, helping Monoma filter out the noise to concentrate on what matters. He gathers all the notes together and Monoma creates the conspiracy theory board.

I also realized that Kuroiro gives off the vibe of a hopeless romantic when we see him interact with Komori Kinoko.

I fully intended on having that be part of Monoma's personality as well. Since you share your deepest secrets with your best friend, and one of Monoma's is his obsession with stories of love, the two being drawn toward one another was further solidified.

I've really enjoyed developing Kuroiro Shihai into a fleshed out character with a turbulent and heart warming friendship with Monoma Neito.
