My immediately younger brother loves animals. He's very good with them too, especially cats. He adores cats and would drop anything to address and pat stray cats if one ever comes across him.
He's also pretty much a hothead, gets angered at little inconveniences and never holds it back.
Basically, my brother is the kind of person who loves animals so much that if he's angry and you hand him an animal, he'll immediately shift from shouting and screaming to cooing in miliseconds.
I like to think that characters who love animals and are really good with animals are just like that.

Transmasculinity and queer sexuality in the works of Ikeda Riyoko
Tumblr media
Content Warning: Discussion of transphobia and suicide
Spoilers for Dear Brother, The Rose of Versailles, and Claudine
Ikeda Riyoko—perhaps the most famous member of the “year 24 group” that played a large part in creating the foundations of the shoujo manga genre—is often credited with laying the groundwork for depictions of queer characters in shoujo, and in particular with creating the archetype of the gender-bending heartthrob heroine, or “girl prince.” Building on earlier representations of butch or transmasculine characters in early shoujo manga such as Princess Knight, and the Takarazuka theater tradition of the otokoyaku male role actor, Ikeda’s enormously popular gender non-conforming heroes—Lady Oscar from The Rose of Versailles, Rei from Dear Brother, Julius from the Window of Orpheus, and the titular character of Claudine—helped to establish that there was a major mainstream audience excited to cheer for a hotheaded, androgynous tomboy with a heart of gold. Lady Oscar in particular has fingerprints all over the history of anime and manga, from a gender-bending cameo in Pokémon to serving as the inspiration for iconic characters like Tenjou Utena.
When I first read The Rose of Versailles last year, I expected its depictions of queer and transmasculine characters to be somewhat limited—after all, the comic was written for mainstream audiences and a mainstream publisher in the 1970s. But across Ikeda’s work, I was deeply surprised with the level of care and nuance with which Ikeda approaches transmasculine love stories. While there is obviously a lot about Ikeda’s portrayal of transmasculine characters that feels dated to modern audiences (for example, her comics often do fall back on “biological” ideas of women’s weakness and emotionality, and sometimes psychologize her character’s genders in uncomfortable ways), I was surprised by how much of these comics still hit for me today. What makes them work for me is both the extreme pathos with which Ikeda writes transmasculine character’s experiences of rejection—and, at rare moments, gender euphoria —but also the fact that her trans characters are not simply given a one-size fits all born-in-the-wrong-body narrative. Instead, they are each portrayed as unique individuals with varied personal relationships to their gender, their sexuality, and the historical context of the society they live in.

Can you do the head canons set for Yone and Sett like you did for Kayn??? Thank you !!!!
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Tumblr media
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
HEARTSTEEL SETT / READER ♡ Gender Neutral ♡ SFW (Light sexuality, nothing explicit.) ♡ Hi my dear! Wasn't sure if you meant the relationship ones or kiss ones—Yone is getting both in upcoming separate posts, and I've already done Sett kisses here ! Hope you enjoy these :D
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
SETT
Sett's most sensitive spot is his ears. They're dreamy soft, like velvet but thicker, and oh-so-warm. When you play with them he goes weak in the knees, tilting his head towards your gentle hands and letting out a low groan. He adores when you play with them. If he plops his head in your lap and looks up at you with pleading puppy-dog eyes, chances are an ear-rub is what he's begging for.
After Sett smashes out a great lifting session, he usually sends you a mirror selfie. He just wants to tell you he had a great workout, and he loves when you encourage him, so it's mostly innocent. But come on...he's shining with sweat, his muscles look fucking huge, and he's got that flushed-cheek, out of breath smile. How are you not supposed to ogle him a little bit? If you accuse him of trying to turn you on with his gym selfies he goes 'no wayyyyyy'. The next picture he says—one of him winking at you, with the hem of his shirt pulled tight between his sharp teeth and his glorious abs on display—says otherwise.
Sett's social media pages consist of basically two things: gymbro shit and cute animal videos. He spams you with the latter. Expect lots of pictures of housecats cuddling ("us", he captions) and videos of dogs doing tricks ("do u think we could teach earnest that??" Probably not, you tell him, but you find him on the kitchen floor the next morning trying to get the poor dog to do a flip anyway).
Sett is all for pet-names, and rarely calls you by your given name. He  goes with the classic "babe" a lot. Sometimes he likes to spice it up by sprinkling in nicknames like "hot stuff" or "sweets". If he's being cheeky, he'll give you a teasing smirk and call you his "favorite groupie".
Sett loves staying active (obviously) and he's always down to try something new. If you're for hurting date ideas, take him rollerskating, rock climbing, or swimming. And, if you're really brave? Ask him and the rest of the Heartsteel guys to go paint-balling with you. Bless his heart, he will try so hard to protect you and hyper-carry your team but his aim just isn't that good. (Predictably, Sett ends up covered in paint-splashes. He's nothing if not a good meat shield.)
For your first Christmas together, Sett's mom knits you a beanie to match his. "Oh, you two are adorable," she beams as her son excitedly tugs the warm hat over your ears. Once you've earned the beanie, trust that you've got Mama's approval on lock.
Anyone that wrongs you is on Sett's shit-list for life. He's a hothead and he knows how to hold a fucking grudge. If you complain about your boss or come to him teary-eyed because a friend blew off plans, he's fuming. "That fucking asshole," he snarls. Of course, he sets aside his fury to comfort you. Just know that a lifelong beef has been started and he's going to scowl every time you bring that person's name up again.
After a hard workout, Sett loves to tease you by pulling you in for a sweaty bear-hug. Don't worry, though—he's always down to hit the showers with you right after.
Sett knows his way around the human body—he's got a near medical knowledge of muscle groups, nerves, and effective stretches just from his time in the gym. What does this mean for you, though? The best fucking massages in the entire universe. The moment you complain about a kink in your neck or a sore back Sett's cracking his knuckles. "Okay, hot stuff," he says, placing his gentle hands on your tight muscles. "Where exactly does it hurt?" Of course, you don't need to be in pain to get a massage—Sett's eager to touch you any chance he can get. Pout a little and ask if he can pretty please rub your neck, and his hands are on you before you can finish your sentence.
Since he's a cuddle-bug and serial napper, plan on spending a fair amount of time snuggled up in Sett's bed. He keeps sweatpants in his closet for you so you can be comfy during cuddle-seshes. Honestly, though, he prefers if you skip the pants altogether and chill out in your underwear and one of his old t-shirts. He tends to take a fabric scissors to any of his shirts with sleeves—your favorite sleep shirt, though? He mercifully leaves that one alone.
Sett's a massive show-off. Anytime you're on your tippy-toes trying to reach the top shelf or you're struggling with the pickle jar, Sett swoops in with an "Oh, lemme get that for ya!" And if he's flexing extra hard opening the jar or stretching his arms so that just the teeeeeeeniest bit of his shirt slips up, exposing his six-pack...well. You might as well enjoy the show, right?
Even though he wears lifting gloves, Sett's hands get chapped and calloused, anyway. He constantly steals your lotion. If you catch him swiping it out of your bag his ears go back and he offers you a sheepish, "sorry, hon...", but does he stop?  No chance. He pops the top and slathers it on his hands, anyway. "Whaaaaaat?" he whines as you stare him down. "If I'm all rough and whatever you'll stop holding hands with me."
You and Sett have a frankly obscene amount of plushies. There's an endless sea of plush on your bed, plus a good handful on his, but he just. keeps. buying. more. You'd complain, since it makes finding a comfy position to sleep a battle sometimes, but come on... how can you say no to a sugarcone furyhorn? Fucking impossible.
Sett's favorite way to pull you closer is by your belt loops. He hooks his fingers through and gives your hips a light tug, loving the surprised squeak you give when you bump into his massive frame.
Sett has a metal water bottle with him at all times (gotta stay hydrated)! Even though he rolls his eyes when you paste cute stickers on it, you notice that he never peels them off.

Characterizing Characters
Bakugou Katsuki.
Tumblr media
I’ll be using the source material to create a simple list of traits he has already, then based on those traits, things we can infer about him based on those behaviors.
SourceMaterial!Bakugou is a hothead, we know this. However, at UA, his anger is almost never unreasonable. He is regularly the butt of his classmates jokes and teasing, which makes him argumentative. Outside of that he is just a very competitive teen with a grumpy disposition. He is pre-irritated.
SourceMaterial!Bakugou is rarely malicious in his words. Most things he says seemingly comes from a place of indifference. (Calling people extras, taking a long time to learn names and quirks, etc.)
SM!Bakugou is a goody two-shoes, despite his mouth. He sleeps early, studies hard, has been seen yelling at his classmates about making sure to eating well.
SM!Bakugou is socially awkward. He doesn’t just struggle with being nice, he struggles with being appropriate in general.
SM!Bakugou has great deductive reasoning skills. It helps in battle as well as him learning about interpersonal relationships.
SM!Bakugou is half decent with kids, he makes a point of analyzing and understanding their behavior to relate to them.
SM!Bakugou is a tough love kind of guy, but he actively acknowledges his classmates strengths.
SM!Bakugou has mission anxiety from both times he was held hostage.
SM!Bakugo regularly pushes his physical limits, regardless of injury or wellbeing.
Now we can make some inferences based on the information we have already.
ProHero!Bakugou found better outlets for his anger. MMA, quirk ranges, general exercise, etc.
ProHero!Bakugou still hates the press, but has learned how to conduct himself professionally. His interviews give the same cold feel as Aizawa’s.
ProHero!Bakugou would hold youth self-defense classes featuring different heroes, to prevent incidents like the sludge villain from happening again.
ProHero!Bakugou would take on many mentees and sidekicks. Feeling he’d be the best person to whip them into heroes.
ProHero!Bakugou would not give lots of verbal praise to his mentees and sidekicks. He’d just give them more responsibilities as the are able to handle them.
ProHero!Bakugou would have similar scaring to ProHero!Sero. Scars from injury and muscle damage would be most prominent on his shoulders, biceps, and forearms.
ProHero!Bakugou would work very closely with ProHero!Kirishima, ProHero!Jirou, and ProHero!Uraraka. Relying on their skills in combat, reconnaissance, and rescue, respectively.
Now, some personal headcannons I have. 💥
Bakugou rolls his eyes, A LOT. Mainly to keep himself from saying something out of pocket.
He cracks his wrists a lot, and his fingers are always sore.
He is a momma’s boy, but he’s an easier child for his father.
Bakugou is a polyglot.
Bakugou wouldn’t date another hero, but not a regular civilian either. Maybe someone in the medical field?
Bakugou has cuteness aggression with animals and his friends think it’s hilarious.
He takes Yaoyorozu with him to events because, “She’s the only one with any sense around here.”
Bakugou has gotten in trouble for modifying and tinkering with his gauntlets without approval.
Let me know who I should do next. I may do a secondary post the further I get into rewatching the show.

Instead if the typical arguing over leadership. Raph and Leo’s arguments consist of who sacrifices themselves while the others get away. Meanwhile the bad guys are like um you know we are still here right?
*nods violently*
like in 2012 Raph is so scared when Leo tries sacrificing himself (something Splinter encouraged whether he meant to or not), and like yeah there is canonically an element of jealousy which is addressed, but it's much less often addressed how much Raph pushing back against Leo's leadership is because of those experiences. Of course he's gonna have a hard time trusting Leo's leadership when he consistently gets reminders that to Leo, being a leader means throwing yourself into the fire first
And in the meantime Leo's so protective and wants Raph to 'stay put' and 'not be a hothead' for the same reasons but opposite. Like. hnnnnn
Then in 03, Raph really does trust Leo's leadership and most of the time Leo is careful and thoughtful, not overly cautious, but it's a much slower build to the perfectionism and self-incrimination mixing in unfortunate ways with an altruistic heart. And Raph is seeing it first, and fighting it loudest, and Leo's entire ptsd arc is about how much he hates himself for asking his family to sacrifice themselves to stop the Shredder. I think of the City at War arc where, when Raph breaks and leaves, his parting words to Leo are 'just don't get these guys killed.' Like, Fine, if you don't want me to protect you, I won't, but that means it's on you to protect our little brothers. If I can't stop you from putting yourself up on the altar, you just better not bring them with you. And what Raph's really upset about is that all the ways he usually tries to protect Leo aren't working, but later on what Leo's internalized is that he shouldn't ask that of him family; he'd ask it of himself every time (it's a whole other post about how much Leo has tied up his purpose in life with being the Shredder's enemy and if Shredder is defeated then who is he and what is he worth)
Meanwhile whenever Leo holds Raph back it's most often like this: Raph saw someone in trouble or something unfair, and immediately instinctively wanted to throw his body in front of the victim, the way he always does for his brothers during a fight. Leo knows Raph does this, he knows how deeply his brother cares about their city and how instinctively protective he is if anyone helpless (weaponless, back turned, kids, elderly, animals--Raph does not like to see an uneven fight). And he's always immediately ready with a hand on his shoulder and a succinct, gentle explanation of a safer plan because he doesn't want to see Raph give himself up and he knows he would, without even thinking about it
Anyways--
Yes I love this scenario it fits them. Also makes me think of sainw where their big fight was over Splinter doing this exact move, with Leo putting off the grief and guilt in order to focus on the mission Splinter left him with, keeping his brothers safe, while Raph felt it all full force and immediately and could only see Leo abandoning someone who needed them. They probably both wished over the years that it had been them instead
Also imagining that if these two are arguing and the bad guys are watching, then they are in fact distracted which would allow Donnie and Mikey to disappear and once they've disappeared they can create a diversion to rescue Leo and Raph without anyone being left behind. Which also leaves them continuing their argument with nothing resolved between them ajdhahavaj

Unlike Asha, I didn’t have an issue with Magnifico and Amaya’s designs, but I couldn’t help myself and redesigned their outfits, which I mainly took inspiration from the concept art book. I also designed some evil outfits for them when they use the evil spell book, but I’ll post that another time.
I’ve talked about how super disappointed I was that these two weren’t made into a villain couple, so in my version of the story, Magnifico and Amaya are partners in crime who take the wishes of the people of Rosas to keep their loyalty and obedience.
Asha works as Magnifico’s apprentice and Amaya’s scullery maid, although the King barely teaches Asha magic as he doesn’t want her becoming more powerful than him, and Amaya would essentially be like the Evil Queen/Lady Tremaine to Asha’s Snow White/Cinderella, where she constantly gives the girl chores to do and sees her as nothing but a servant.
These two would totally have Gomez and Morticia vibes, except if Gomez and Morticia were an evil royal couple who also owned a cat that they spoiled like crazy and treated it like it was their child. Yes, I added the deleted cat Charo and despite me not being able to draw animals for shit, he came out alright😅
I feel that by changing Amaya’s character from villain to hero, the creators honestly made her pretty boring. I read the novel for Wish, and she’s just kinda… there. Like you could literally remove Amaya and nothing would change.
But anyways, Magnifico would be the hotheaded, impulsive one of the two, whereas Amaya would the more levelheaded, devious one who wouldn’t snap till the very end. Magnifico is the brawn, Amaya is the brain.
Both very vain, very terrible, and very much in love🥰

So I've been discussing the idea of "having a hard time" diving back into old shows - particularly those I was obsessive about in the past.
One of those shows - was Bakuten Shoot Beyblade. I believe I've mentioned it a few times before, but from approximately 2003 to 2009, this was my absolute JAM. After Digimon Tamers, it was the very first anime I was "active" about in German forums, I wrote RPGs, I wrote fanfiction, I drew fanart... You name it. And while I thought I had the main cast down to a T, I am pretty sure that, after being out of the series for so long, I would analyze them a little bit differently today. Heck, I think even my preferred shipping choices have changed somewhat from how they were back then... (To be fair, I have always liked every single combination between the main four, but I would definitely say that some of those are more dear to me than others.)
I think I'd really like to write some character analysis for them at some point. I always enjoyed taking apart their respective tropes and see how their traumas unfolded. And, looking at how even modern depictions of them go, I seem to not have been that far off after all!
To keep it as shortly as possible:
Takao may, at first glance, strike you as your typical shounen protagonist who loves to eat a lot and believes in the power of friendship to succeed - and while these aspects about him are certainly true, it's interesting to watch how it all unfolds between the first and third season. There is a fine line between his genuinely good heart, a passion for what he loves and an ego he has to overcome sometimes. I would even argue that he is one of the most misunderstood characters out there; because due to his family background, he does have severe abandonment issues, fearing to be left behind and thus he doesn't react well to situations like that - either he turns into a wounded puppy or covers it up with a mask of cockiness. He can be brash and hotheaded - but he genuinely loves his friends and believes in the good in people (and thus he really gives me magical girl vibes). He knows how to pull others with him, has an incredibly charming and attractive energy and other people feel naturally drawn to him... It's beautiful.
The stereotype Max has always been dealing with was that of the "sugar high ray of sunshine" - and I am delighted to see how wide-spread the idea has become that, while he absolutely IS a positive, open and physical person, he is also masking a lot of his own insecurities and abandonment issues with cocky phrases and a never-ending smile. Because he feels like he has to - to keep the band together, to not lose the sense of togetherness and to not be abandoned and replaced again. Just like with Takao, family-related trauma is at play here. His defensively smart Blading style is oftentimes ridiculed and overlooked, thus kinda playing into him trying to overcome his own inferiority complexes. Both him and Takao adore their newly found family to the core and it's no surprise that they easily click with one another - and that Max seems to have an easy time getting through to almost everyone in the team as well.
Rei - oh my Lord, I will try to keep this one short as well, because he was definitely my fave back in the day. And what's not to love about human-cat-hybrid (good old Neko-Jin days, how I miss thee) with a yin/yang theme going on who has a hard time choosing between his mind and his heart, traditions and freedom, and continuously gets himself into trouble because of that? One may also argue that he's getting the shortest end of the stick because of his inner and outer conflicts A LOT... And despite that, he is just as prone to cockiness, probably also trying to mask his own attachment issues by doing that. The burden of expectations that are constantly thrown at him drives him to the need to find his own path - so he tends to run away and changes direction a lot. Like a true cat does... Man, I love that absolute disaster child, always torn between his values and needs, who, even though loyalty absolutely does play a role for his character, has an even harder time conveying how much his found family means to him. In that regard, he is only topped by one particular character (no pun intended...).
Kai, oh Kai. Edgelord of the century, or, like we used to call him, mister ice cube. Essays upon essays have been written about his character - the cold exterior that was formed by years and years of child abuse (at least in the anime, the manga is an entirely different beast to cover, but even there, the subject of abandonment issues is present again). A cold and cruel mask, a brilliant Blader with an aura of, dare I say it, sadistic fun when it comes to destroying his opponents... And yet, there is that other side of him. The side that is incredibly protective and, in his very own way, supportive. Giving advice through harsh words, claiming that he only has his own interests in mind... But is that really the case? Isn't he, deep down inside, just as smitten by these dorks he is "stuck with"? Obsessed with beating those he claims to be his rivals until his very last breath... A twisted sense of love he probably hasn't fully understood himself yet... Or has he?
Long story short - they are all cocky teenage boys with a passion for spinning tops that play off of each other incredibly well and actually love each other a lot and are probably all bisexual disasters to different degrees, but I will get deeper into sexuality headcanons later.

what would you say is your favorite thing (or things) about c!niki as a character? I’ve seen you post a lot about her and I want to understand her from a c!niki fan perspective.
< < ( candle 🕯️ anon ) > >
The hardest thing about this question was that you clearly just want me to list a few things, and not write an in-depth novel on why I love c!Niki’s character, and how she is a much more important character to the lore than she is given credit for. And also being forced to only pick a few of my favorite things about c!Niki, that was also difficult. I’m gonna try not to repeat anything I’ve said in this post though.
I love her character, her personality. She’s sweet, compassionate, determined, courageous, loyal, and an animal lover, but she’s also vindictive, hotheaded, impulsive, and a touch bloodthirsty. She balances out these conflicting traits very well, either based on circumstances or on where she was in her either vengeance or healing arc.
I really do love how involved c!Niki is in the story. She’s there from nearly the beginning. She was involved in L’Manburg, got directly involved in the elections, was involved in both Manburg and Pogtopia, she got involved with Rutabagville and Dry Waters, she was a major player in the pet wars, she’s the third person who said “it was never meant to be” and it actually lasted when she did it, she’s a member of the Syndicate, she get involved with The Egg, she’s implied to be a dreamwalker and that allowed her to directly get involved in C!GNF’s dream, etc. And all the while, she also had her own storylines going on – her own vengeance arc, her healing arc, her massive underground city, etc.
This is biased because I write fanfics, but I love how well she bounces off of ever other character! I have yet to found a character she doesn’t bounce off well. She’s such a dynamic character, she’s so fun to write into fics. Is she good, is she bad, is she somewhere in between? Is she friendly with this other character, or an enemy? Doesn’t matter, she’s gonna work very well in those dynamics.
Something that I also love that applies to both c!Niki and cc!Niki is just how funny they are. C!Niki can be a hilarious character, just like cc!Niki can be a hilarious content creator. She could have picked anything, anything to shout to distract c!BBH and c!Skeppy, and yet she chose to shout “Sperm whales can't cum!”. When Tommy is bragging about his muscles, she chose the perfect tone to deliver the line “I'm sorry, Tommy, but what muscles are we talking about?”. These are just a few examples, but watching any video with cc!Niki in it will show off how funny she is.
I like that there is some mystery to certain aspects of her character. Why does she hear voices like Technoblade? Can she dreamwalk, because it is heavily implied that she can… why can she dreamwalk, if she can? Her eyes change color multiple times, as well as her hair, are the reasons why they change magical or mundane? There are a lot of angel and demon symbolism surrounding c!Niki’s character, does that have any meaning? Also, the fire symbolism. These aren’t questions that need answers, but it does allow for some creative and fun interpretations of her character. This, again, might be something more relevant to someone who writes fanfics… but hey, it’s still a thing I love!
I think that’s where I’ll leave that. Don’t want to make what was probably intended to be a simple question with a simple answer.

Yut lung lee: Bad takes
Tumblr media
look i'm not gonna pretend Yut lung lee is some saint who never did anything bad or terrorized innocents. But some takes are so bad!
Maybe I'm just too much of a Revolutionary girl Utena head for this fandom. But jeez Louise the simplistic morality of the fanbase is just baffling sometimes.
Yut lung haters: Yut Lung is responsible for Ash's death because he told Lao was a threat to Sing
As if Lao didn't decide on his own to kill Ash. and Ash didn't decide to not go to the hospital. Also, I love how some of ya'll blame a sixteen-year-old for the choices of a grown man who was looking for an excuse to kill Ash anyway. I love Lao but he was a reckless hothead just itching for an excuse to end Ash's life.
Yut Lung is responsible for rape: This one is just Wild to me! I've seen fans blame Yut lung for Jessica's rape which. Um, what makes you think the prostitute under the control of his pimps. Had control over their men?
Yut lung also gets blamed for Eiji's attempted rape. Which to be fair he did help put Eiji in that situation. But I don't get why people expect the sex trafficking victim to put his ass on the line for a perfect stranger. Or think him trying to save Eiji would of done anything but get them both killed or worse.
We are talking about someone who if you look at the context of Dino/ the lee's were could very easy of been involved with shit like snuff films, organ farms or at the very least drugged both boys up to a point neither of them would think about resistance again. I mean we all saw what happened the Shorter.
That being said both Yut Lung and Eiji were set up to be raped that night by Dino. So it's an oversimplification of something that isn't so black and white. Overlooking power dynamics in abuse situations and putting more blame on the powerless than the powerful.
Ash gets help and Yut lung doesn't because Ash earned it by being kind: I blame the anime for this one no, the manga makes it more clear Ash's aid is because he's powerful. Was he nice to Eiji and the children yes but he was awful to so many others.
But half the cast put a value on Ash because they stood to benefit from how he destroys his enemies. Ash kills, tortures, and abuses so many fans forget that. He's not kind but he is useful because he's a superpowered assassin.
Also, Yut Lung is kind to Sing and the kid still stabs him in the back. He's nice to Blanca for Yut Lung and gets betrayed for Ash. No, being kind only works for Ash. Yut Lung has bits of kindness, pieces of softness that slip out same as Ash. Just because he's not ready to throw his life away for the first boy who gives him a soft look doesn't mean Yut lung can't be kind in his own way.
Ash being morally better than Yut Lung and thus deserving of love. It is honestly a take that makes me enraged.

Could Prowlbee, or Blitzbee get into DnD (I don't think Shockwave could get into it, but would support Bee).
If so, what would their race, class, background, and alignment be?
I see Bee as either a Bard or Rogue (I hahrt played, but I think you can multi class so he can possibly be both).
Holy fuck yes- (i haven't played dnd myself at all but i've hears plenty of stories about it.)
Imma do the whole Team prime cuz why tf not. The first time they played DND is when Bee invited over a human friend or two that he's been playing the game with. He's been talking their audials off about it everytime after he came back from the game and they willingly got persuaded to try it out.
The GM explained the rules, how to play, what nat 1 and nat 20 meant, how to make a character and so on and they started-
Oprimus played a Centaur Paladin, Ratchet was a Tortle Cleric (cuz he was already healing those morons irl) and Bulkhead was an Orc Artificer. Sari chose to be an Elf Sorcerer.
Bee made a Tiefling Bard character, and as all bard stereotypes go, abused the fuck out of his maxed out charisma to seduce all the bosses instead of fighting them. He was surprisingly smooth with the dialogue flirts and great at speaking in rhyme, they gotta give him that.
I am confident Prowl would be a Tabaxi Druid- he doesn't hesitate a moment once he learns they can speak with animals and even turn into one. (he's in wild shape almost the whole campaign). (also, you can't tell me this mech doesn't secretly wanna be an animal fuckin furry)
I imagine if ProwlBee- Bee woul constantly flirt with Prowl's character to mess with him, if they haven't established they were a couple in the backstories yet. If not, Prowl would constantly turn Bee's flirts down only to watch his expression of sad disbelief. Bee eventually does succeed in romancing him and the amused GM described the scene after the go into one of the bedroom in enough details to know what the characters were doing. The only one who wasn't embarrased in the slightest was Bee, obviously. He was Prowl's sparkmate already, the characters doing the deed meant nothing but success to him.
If BlitzBee- Blitz would be a purple Dragonborn Barbarian, with Hothead as the main appearance thorough the game. His character was originally supposed to challange one of the players to a duel and join them after discovering they were a strong party but Bee derailed the whole encounter by rolling a nat 20 and throwing one of the most cheesy, sweet and original pick up lines they ever heard. Blitzwing's character ended up forgetting he was supposed to fight them and stuck with them purely bcuz his character was now canon in love with Bee's. They were both trying not to laugh their afts off while the rest of the party and GM had these "we should have seen this coming a mile away" disappointed smiles.

IM SCREECHING OVER THIS ROARING 20s AU,
but very politely holding your shoulders and giving you a little shake.
I haven't watched much teenage mutant ninja turtles unfortunately, but from what i do know, you putting them in the 1920s is absolutely FASCINATING. The difference in politics and the World in general from the modern version to your AU is just,,, HNGNGNGG im chewing on the leg of your desk
Do they act differently?? Or are they relatively similar to their modern counterparts? How are they forced to adapt to this universe? Are they still ninja trained? How did they get turned into mutant turtles, and what's Shredder's (who you MUST draw, im begging you), motive during this time period? 👀 DO THEY STILL LIKE PIZZA?????
And most importantly, may i give Splinter a kiss on the head? 👉👈
Amazing art as always <3
I owe you my life for this ask. I can feel myself being pulled back into both my obsessions with TMNT and the early 1900s.
SO I'M STILL BUFFERING EDGES AND WORKING OUT WHAT EXACTLY I WANNA DO WITH CERTAIN CHARACTERS BUT HERES THE MAIN SYNOPSIS;
In 1923 New York, post ww1, splinter is the last of his lineage of samurai in the Edo period in Japan, escaping to New York and attempting to build a new life when he came into contact with the Foot, a long-established gang with ties to shredder a yakuza boss who also immigrated from japan at the end of the 1800s once he lost his title as shōgun. He is controlling many facets of New York through experimental science and crime.
Mainly being; bootlegging, gambling, auto theft, narcotics, robbery, And any other gang-sanctioned activity.
In an attempt to stop him, splinter soon finds himself mortally wounded and in desperation to save his life, he is mutated into a rat, alongwith 4 baby turtles and an entire lab of wildlife. (Animal testing has been around for awhile) Hiding away with his newly found family and recovering from injuries that made him slowly lose his eyesight, the boys began to grow in the shadows of a newly technological America.
And that's kinda what I got as an explanation for how exactly splinter got here and what happened before the turtles grew up.. AS FOR THEIR PERSONALITIES. I try to keep them similar, I take inspiration from each different continuity of tmnt for what I think the perfect imalgamation would look like for a basis for who they are, and then I made it time period accurate!
So in order-
Leonardo: Leo is a big boy scout, he respects splinters wisdom and teachings, and when I think of him I picture Steve Roger's before the Super Soldier serum, Leo believes in New York, and he believes he and his brothers can help fight the rampant and rising gang-related crime in the city. He also enjoys tennis, chess, and card playing, alongside supporting the local flapper scene in the city. He also heavily supports freedom of the press AND believes in the abolishment of prohibition! (Not bc he likes to drink but because he WANTS freedom and justice for all) loves to listen to radio shows with Donnie and read newspapers and magazines to keep up with current trends and events.
Donatello: Donnie is hugely interested in the rise of technology across America, hugely interested in the works of Albert Einstein and the amazing minds behind the Tuberculosis vaccine (baxter stockman in this au is a scientist who basically helped discover penicillin before the incident™️) , he's fascinated with radios and tvs however they aren't as sophisticated as he might like yet, he believes he can help the field of science alongside his brothers as a crime fighter, although it isn't his passion to fight, he sees fighting as a science of its own. His hobbies include radio shows and reading! (His favorite book is at the earth's core by Edgar rice Burroughs) and he also really really enjoys April's company, and dressing up with her.
Raphael: Raphael is a vigilante at heart, but also a bit too hotheaded and selfish to see when he is in too deep, he heavily engages in the night life and the scummier parts of New York, bar fights, alley brawls, deals gone wrong, you name it, raphs got a fire for fighting for what's right. He rubs elbows with many of the lower-class gangs, who are just trying to get by, and after learning about the struggles of suffragettes, he lends a hand when he can with their growing cause, he's also a huge jazz fan, attending many flapper shows and frequenting speakeasies. Before he met Casey in late 1919, he dreamed of nothing more than to fight in the Great War, however, when he met Casey Jones, he was quickly attuned to the horrors the war brought to its soldiers, and how horrendously they were discarded after, and prompting vowing to help veterans in need. He and Casey are close and frequently engage in going to silent films, recreational drinking, and smoking together.
Michelangelo: Mikey is an artist, he loves his city and its people, and alongside being an incredibly talented martial artist crimefighter alongside his brothers, he believes in peace and love above everything. (Although he'll finish a fight if he has to) him and raph clash heavily on how to handle issues in new york, and while they can't see perfectly eye to eye, they overlap on alot of ideals and pastimes. Mikey is a prolific painter like his namesake, as well as a silent film connoisseur, a birdwatching fan, a huge fan of jazz, and a frequent at lgbt nightclubs in Harlem.
NOW FOR THE NON TURTLE CHARACTERS!
Splinter: Splinter was born in Japan in the mid 1855, he is now in his late 60s, trying to pass on his knowledge of the time to his sons, while training them the way of the samurai and ninja from when he was a boy. Splinters mutation heavily affected his eyesight, and training and keeping in touch with his culture and fighting traditions helped him overcome the difficulty of navigation, along with his mutated hearing and smell. He's a strict older Japanese dad, he loves his boys but is hesitant about the new boom of technology and heavily encourages the boys to stick to their traditional ways while fighting for what's right.
April: April moved to the city from smalltown in 1915, daughter of a farmer, she came in hopes of starting a career for herself and eventually settle down, but as things began to go down hill for the aspiring woman, she began to work a day job as a secretary at the New York World Newspaper company and at night as a flapper, she ends up getting caught up In ganglife around new york before meeting the turtles during a chance encounter with the foot gang.
Casey Jones: Casey Jones is a poor young man from New Jersey, high aspirations and low funds led him to leave his abusive household and seek out adventure during the draft in 1917, Casey fought In the Great War in Europe, and came back a changed man. Shortly after his return to the States, he moved to New York City to try to rebuild a life he once yearned for, when he meets Raphael. Both boys begin to start a bond, sharing the same pastimes and enjoying the same sights the city has to offer, but it's hard to navigate a life that feels so foreign after his enlistment, what's even harder is understanding why he'd rather enjoy the company of Raphael rather than the girls they watch on stage. He still engages in recreational hockey and the occasional book club since Leo and Donnie insist on helping him with his dyslexia.
As for their motives.. they're just trying to help clean up the streets and not get traumatized along the way! But that's never how it works out is it..
And for the villians.. this posts getting a bit long so I'll make a seperate post about shredder and his whole deal, along with the krang :]
And of COURSE they still love pizza! They're the ninja turtles, it came free with the Xbox,
But if u want an actual answer yes they still love pizza, alot of Italian immigrants came to New york in 1880ish through 1930, and pizza was starting to super get popular.
(And splinter always gets alittle kiss)
Tumblr media
BUT YES that's what we're cooking with so far!! And I have many idea for them, and would love to hear more thoughts and opinions !!! Please. This is my brainchild I'm foaming at the mouth to share it.
ask box is always open!!

Castlevania Modern day au lore post 3/???
So this post and the next one (so long as I don’t have to push it back a bit) will be focusing on a bit of lore plus Alucard/Adrian, Trevor and Sypha respectively and their families, This one will focus on Trevor and the Belmont family.
Please check out the previous post for the stuff about Alucard and his immediate family plus some lore on Vampires and Dhampirs in this au.
Same trigger warnings as the previous post mentioning trevor and his family
Also if you want a part two to this post talking about his uncles and cousins let me know via the ask box
First is Trevor's Mother Andreea She is the parent Trevor looks more like and owns her own restaurant, She doesn't love her kids but does have a bit of a rocky relationship with some of them because of her still being with her husband
next is Trevor's father Roman First, He's an asshole, He's always smoked and drank since before his oldest was born, He was a cruel abusive person and almost none of his kids have a decent relationship with him, Some outright hate him and some barely tolerate his bs for the sake of have a relationship withe their mother.
next is Trevor's oldest brother Julius He has a iron stomach and can eat and drink almost anything without getting sick, Has a high alcohol tolerance and is able to out drink most people but rarely does.
He's insanely protective of his siblings.
he was already in collage when Trevor was in high school.
Is a private detective and works on his hobby of building things on the side, Even having a small side business from his hobby.
next is Trevor's second oldest brother Juste He has never touched Alcohol, He is into theatre and things related to it, He ignores his father even if their in the same room after his father scolded him for his career choice and hobbies.
He was the first of his siblings to get into a relationship
next is Trevor's oldest sister Mary She's a lawyer and is like trevor though not as hotheaded.
next is Trevor's brother Richter He is somewhat accident prone, He's not allowed near power tools or nail guns, He once broke his dad's car window while roughhousing with his brothers, He is easily the most accident prone of the Belmont siblings.
Next is second sister Sonia She is similar to her siblings but also has a stare that makes most anyone tense in fear, She and Ricter are twins and are only about a year older than trevor, She tends to write in her free time and even finished a novel by the time she started her second year of high school though she just posted it via the internet.
Is a night owl like her brother Juste and the two often stay up and watch movies and tv shows together
Next is our man Trevor is pretty into sports and does a lot of extra stuff in school and is typically called a 'Jock', He's actually one of the more popular people in school both because of his family name and the typical reasons though he doesn't always mind it he does find it annoying when people just want to date him or be hiss friend because of his popularity and family.
Despite how some see him he's into a lot of 'geeky' things and loves reading manga, comics, watching anime, playing video games. etc, He often gets after the other guys on the football team for being assholes to other students.
He has had a detention streak because he doesn't hesitate to fight, Which his siblings and his friend Sypha scold him about, It's not uncommon to see him with a bandage or two.
Hangs out with his siblings, Uncles and cousins and Sypha a lot because they're some of the only people he feels he can be himself around.
Next is the baby of the siblings, Leon He's only a year younger than Trevor but they get along a lot and they share a lot of interests and Trevor is the sibling Leon has the most ease talking to

Slamming my two niche fixations into one super niche fixation with my House of Anubis kids but if they went to Ravenwood Academy in the 2008 MMO Wizard101:
Nina is definitely a Balance wizard through and through, which means she draws upon all the elemental schools to perform her magic (this is also lowkey the ancient Egyptian theme school so…). It’s not super powerful, but she’s very good at it. She also is a master at the Celestial schools of Sun, Moon, and Star. She definitely gets sucked into the whole Shadow magic debacle as well, because she’s Nina.
Fabian, my beloved Storm and Myth double major wizard. He was definitely a Diviner to start out, since they’re all about scientific discovery, but the moment Nina came crashing into his world, he definitely fell down a rabbit hole into the School of Myth. He’s also, begrudgingly, way better at being a Conjurer than he was with anything to do with Storm magic. Still, he sticks with both.
Patricia is the most Pyromancer to have ever Pyromanced. Her fire burns bright; she’s quick to anger, completely fixated on whatever currently has her attention. She’s also really into the Gravulum Order, because it feeds the little beast of paranoia in her by having to get readings on chaos magic from places and creatures
Amber is also a Pyromancer. Much like Patricia, the flames of her magic are bright and hot. She also cares a lot about how she looks— a common trait of the Fire School. She’s also almost always found in the Shopping District, particularly the dye shop. She dabbled in Storm magic for a little bit but after she nearly blew up the school, she was asked to switch.
Alfie is a Conjurer. The Myth school feeds into his fantastical whimsy, and he loves learning about all the different creatures and stories. He loves Monstrology, and fills his dorm with all sorts of conjured critters.
Jerome is a Necromancer, but he sucks at it— not because he doesn’t have the affinity for it, but because he doesn’t pay attention in class, way more inclined to be plotting his next prank. He’d actually be very good at Death magic if he could put that mind of his to his studies instead of being a menace.
Joy is a Storm wizard. She’s addicted to tech and pop culture and she loves an aesthetic. Just ask after something (or someone) she likes, and she will go on about it for days and days. She’s a very talented Diviner, and her magic is strong. Don’t cross Joy.
Mara is a Thaumaturge with Storm as a secondary school. As an Ice wizard, she exhibits great patience and strength, but she’s rigid and inflexible in her beliefs. She has a very clear sense of right and wrong, and she will call you on it. It also takes a lot to break her down. Sometimes when she’s upset about something, it starts to snow in a little cloud over her head.
Mick: Mick is a Fire wizard for a lot of the same reasons Patricia is. He’s a hothead, and his flames are absolutely lethal. He can burn opponents to a crisp in moments. Definitely not lacking in the raw magic department.
Eddie: Eddie also starts off solely as a Fire wizard, but once he discovers he’s the Osirian, he takes up Balance magic as a secondary school. He’s not as skilled at the detail work as Nina is, but what he lacks in finesse he makes up for in raw power. He and Patricia sometimes duel for fun, but he only ever wins when he combines Balance magic with his Pyromancy. She insists it’s cheating, but he maintains that it’s “strategic”
KT: KT is a Necromancer. She’s always been drawn to Death magic, ever since she was a child. Her grandfather was a Necromancer and he taught her everything she knows. She’s not super good at speaking with the dead, but she’s amazing at resurrecting them. Sometimes, she helps Fabian study Myth in the school library, and sort of picked it up as an unofficial secondary school.
Willow: Without a doubt, this girl is a Life wizard. Her singing makes the flowers grow, animals flock to her, and her magic is pure healing energy. Much like most Life wizards, her head is in the clouds and she’s a little strange, but you can’t help but love her. She’s also very skilled at Astral magic.

Imagine this.
Wyll Ravengard is twelve years old when he wistfully tells his father he wants to learn magic to talk to animals.
His father, with help from Florrick, dutifully arranges an apprenticeship with a young wizard named Gale Dekarios, who is very talented, if a bit of a hothead, in Ulder's opinion--but the man's a Chosen of Mystra, and between Ulder's money and Wyll's inheritance from his mother they make do. For a little extra, Gale even sets up a portal between his tower and the Ravengard home, so Wyll can go home after lessons.
But Wyll is always Wyll--a romantic, a dreamer, bright and curious.
It is this curiosity that leads him to attempt to read one of Gale's more difficult magical texts--experimental magic, that even Gale himself doubts the efficacy of--
And it's the dreaminess that leads Wyll to get distracted in the middle of a spell that he never meant to cast--
And it's the romantic in him, both the big R and the small, that leads to him thinking wistfully of a woman he only knows from paintings and the look in his father's eyes when her name is spoken--
And therefore it's Wyll who accidentally restores his dead mother to life.
Or, rather, a deep sleep, that can only be cured by True Love's Kiss.
(Both Ulder and Wyll were always suckers for a fairy tale.)

hi, I'm the one who sent in the Deaf tenma and coach kageno fic ideas awhile back, and I thought I'd get your feedback on a fic I'm trying to write
it was a while ago, but I read a ina11 fic that had a female oc. I'm not going to name it here because my opinion on it is... very not positive. either the writer of it was male and (probably) sexist, or had some internalized misogyny to work out, and that's all I'll say on that. but it got me thinking about the way ina11 handles its female cast, which, after a lot of thought, isn't much better. and sure, the og was in 2008, and it was a different time then, but even today I'd still say it's not this shows strong suit. and frankly it pisses me off
it made me actually put (metaphorical) pen to paper, and start writing my own fanfic
the problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to progress the fic now that I have chapters posted, and now it's been several months since I've posted, and I have no clue how to get the ball rolling again. whenever I get an idea like for the fic, I'll be sure to write it down, but all the scenes I'm getting inspiration for are several episodes away, so to speak. I don't know what the very next scene should be. is this a problem you've encountered before, and if so what do you do (please don't suggest a kidnapping, it would not fit the vibe of the story.... unless)
Heyhey! First of all, this sounds like an interesting idea! I'm a bit torn on how Inazuma Eleven treats their female characters, on one hand they're pushed to the side quite easily sometimes, but at the same time they are relevant and relatively developed as characters. To me it seems like they're treated the same way as some of the other characters on the Raimon teams (in both the OG and in GO) - they're side characters. They've got a role, but not a major one, so there's not much time spent on them. Compare them to, let's say, Hayami or Kurumada, they don't have a lot of screen time or depth either.
To be honest, I think it's partly got to do with the target audience, and also the fact that during tournament Arcs, girls aren't soccer players (I just realized though, that outside of OG season 1 and 3, and GO season 1, which are all tournament Arcs, the other seasons all have female soccer players. Not many, but again, target audience explains that, and the fact that girls are involved at all is pretty notable for a sport's anime).
The girls are quite variable in personality, too, when you think about it. I really don't like how they made Rika's dominating personality trait her obsession with Ichinose, but at least that's just her. I mean, Touko is pretty tomboyish, while Natsumi is a stubborn know-it-all in season 1. The OG has quite a lot of female characters withcrushes on Endou, which I think is unnecessary, but it's not their dominating personality trait and I can overlook it (though I haven't watched the OG in a long time) - and they did this a whole lot better in GO, because there's no real focus on romance there, except Endou being married and to be honest I liked that little snapshot into his life ten years later (and the relationship between Endou and Natsumi gets so little screentime that I honestly don't think it's any fuel for shippers or distracts from the main storyline, plus, in the games he married Fuyuka - honestly, complaints about this specifically is just because the fandom's got such a focus on romance, not the anime). In GO, Kinako is a mix between ''mother figure'', ''excited puppy'' and ''confident striker'', and Midori is a hothead (but also badass, I love her). You could argue that they're pushed into stereotype roles, but it's not super extreme, and they're all individual characters. They just lack depth, but, again, side characters.
So yeah, I'm torn! I love the girls and I love writing about them and including them, I've never been super bothered by how they're depicted in the anime, but I agree they're lacking depth and could be considered stereotypes. It could be a whole lot worse though!
As for the actual writing part of your ask - yeah, I get that. I totally get it. Writing connecting scenes suck, so much, if you've got no idea for them and it's something I struggle with writing to this day, unfortunately. I'll try and give you some tips that I usually try, but I can't promise they will always work. Still, I hope they might help a bit!
First of all, have you considered kidnapping??
Lmao no I'm kidding, only add kidnapping if it actually adds to the story :'D
On a more serious note: if you can, add time skips.
This isn't a perfect fix-it, and sometimes it just doesn't work because you need a buildup for the next 'big scene'. But sometimes you're so focused on ''how do I move on from what just happened'' that you might not realize - the aftermath isn't relevant. You can skip hours, days or even weeks in a story without it messing up the story. Don't write filler scenes if they don't have a function in foreshadowing, character development, or fun for you. I've read the advice that you shouldn't write filler scenes at all, and, respectfully? Bullshit. I love developing my characters by having them goofing off or doing irrelevant stuff, and the scenes could be taken out of the story without impacting the plot. I write them because I like writing it, and I'm having fun with it, and I notice that those are the scenes that readers comment on to say how much they enjoy the depth I'm giving characters. Scenes that are, plotwise, incredibly irrelevant, but I'm having fun and the readers do too.
So, to keep it simple: you might overlook that you don't have to write connecting scenes, and only write fillers if 1) buildup between planned scenes is necessary, 2) they have some sort of function in the story, or 3) you really want to write them for fun.
But, let's say you can't skip the connecting scenes. What then? A trick I've started using is POV changes. If a scene doesn't work, or you don't know how to advance with the character you were previously writing, try and switch POVs. A lot of the time when you're stuck in your writing, it doesn't matter how much you push it, it's not gonna work, or you're gonna hate what you wrote. Switching which character you're writing about keeps it fresh, keeps you thinking (and thus inspiring you!!) about the other parts of the story, and might even bring twists you hadn't originally planned for. This even works if two characters are together the whole time - sure, they go through the same events, they experience the same things, but they look at it differently and their thoughts on it won't be the same. Switching to the other character keeps it fresh and allows you to focus on details that character 1 was too distracted for.
If that's not it either, if you really have to stick with the character you were writing, or switching POVs still leaves you hanging, try to figure out what has to happen to get from Scene A to Scene B. Is it just time passing between these scenes that you have to fill? Try to add some slower, ''calm before the storm'' moments of daily life - Big Event A happened in the morning, Big Event B is happening at night, you could write your character going through their normal life (going to school, getting groceries, walking the dog, etc.). If they know Event B is coming, you can dive into their mental state here (and add some character depth while you do it) - are they distracted? Nervous? Does another character pick up on it? Or do they not know about Event B, but they're trying to process Event A? And if it's neither, just adding the contrast of calm, regular, slow versus Big Event Happening can just add some character depth, story depth, and/or give the reader some room to breathe in between.
But maybe it's bigger than that. Maybe it's more than ''just time passing''. Maybe they need to learn skills, or travel, or get something and it's not enough for a ''big scene''. What I see a lot of writers do in this case is writing shallowly. Zooming out. Just describing their actions ''They traveled there, then got lunch and caught a train there.'' That's fine, because too much detail is distracting, but you can add some filler details to make it more interesting: ''They traveled there, then got lunch - which first resulted in a heated debate between character X and character Y about whether pancakes were a suitable lunch food, and then nearly made them miss their train to [location] because they lost character Z when trying to find a toilet''. Quick, not a full scene, bridging - but with some details to keep it lively.
Alternatively, if that's too fast paced for you, I personally like zooming in on smaller moments. Let's use Inazuma Eleven as an example - if they need to train for a match, and you don't want to describe the hours of training they've done, or spoil what they've been practicing, you can focus on shorter moments instead. Have them talk during their water break. Describe your character getting ready in the morning, arriving for the training and then skip over the training itself in a few shorter, summarizing sentences (like I did above with the ''they traveled there, then got lunch'' thing). Maybe take it slower during the water break again and have characters complain about the grueling training they're doing, and then messing around. Or focus more on the thoughts and worries from one specific character, get into their head, go introspective. All of this adds to character depth and story depth, and most of all the pacing. Is it a ''necessary'' scene? No. But it gives more details, makes the story seem more complete in the end, and most importantly, gives you a chance to explore the story you're writing and add little, ''insignificant'' things. It gives the reader room to breathe, instead of going from Action A to Action B to Action C to Action D. That's similar, in fact, to how I write angst - it's not Angst A Angst B Angst C, it's Angst A, Humour, Angst B, Slow Scene, Humour, Angst C. Why? Because if something is 100% angst, then it's not as impactful. It hurts so much more to see a character sad and desperate when you've seen them happy. Similarly, action is so much more fun to read when it's been slow-paced and insignicant, too. It's all about finding that balance.
Whoo, I think I went a bit overboard here, lol. I hope this helps you though! Again, this is a struggle, and it's going to keep being a struggle, and tricks that work for me might not work for you.
