I did a thing!
Or more accurately, a whole bunch of cool-ass, courageous Jewish organizers did a thing and I helped take photos!
IfNotNow Boston shut down BU Bridge for 2 hours - because that’s what you do when your Senator won’t meet with you!

It was an incredibly powerful action. We sang, heard some moving speeches, blew the shofar, and said the Mourner’s Kaddish for the Israeli civilians killed and Palestinians murdered in the ongoing Nakba.
Btw calling anti-Zionist Jews “fake Jews” is fucking laughable. Like people are going to learn the Mourners Kaddish, cite Torah deep cuts and wear tefillin as an elaborate psy-op.

Okay, the audience is dying to know...
What is your favorite T line?
Excellent question!! I have a soft spot for the Green Line, despite all its flaws. You really get the best of both worlds: the grungy, historic subway tunnel aesthetic and the fun above-ground trolley vibes! I love the angry, frantic, enthusiastic ding ding ding of the bell when a car or bike decides to fuck around and find out. And the way the tracks sing a beautiful aria just for you when you approach Boylston 😍 And who doesn’t looooove being crammed into a narrow train full of sweaty Red Sox fans and a malfunctioning air conditioner after a game on a hot summer day? (I know I sound sarcastic right now but I’m being dead serious. I get sad when people talk about how much they hate the Green Line. The Green Line has character. The Green Line is a character. She’s the heart and soul of Boston. She’s old and falling apart but she’s trying her best! She’s habitually running late and loves to scream and sometimes goes off the rails. I can relate.)
I’m especially fond of the design of the type 7 cars. Fun fact: have you ever noticed that all the old Green Line trolleys are made up of one type 7 car and one type 8 car? This is because despite being the fucking ugliest outer design of literally all the MBTA trains ever created, the type 8 cars have an accessible entrance while the type 7s don’t, so each train is legally required to have at least one accessible car. The new type 9 Green Line cars are all accessible though!
But yeah. The Green Line.

Protesting is and will always be a important part of American identity, as we were born from it and continue to use it as a rallying cry for change to this very day!🪧

Boston thoughts
Tumblr media

There's a theory going around (sorry, I tried to find it to link but I came up empty) that I've been thinking about - especially in the context of the way Boston fucks and fucks around - that Top was Boston's first time.
Here we have this prick being all "before when I had sex with someone, my only concern was whether or not I came."
Tumblr media
Imagine having your first time with someone like that, who's just there to get off and really doesn't care if you're enjoying yourself or not but still making such an impression that you're trying for a second (and maybe more). And that first time imprinting on you so strongly that you go around two-pump chumping the dudes you bang. (Pure speculation, we saw like 10 seconds but Boston was being very Top-ish about it.)
Boston has the potential to be a lot more complicated than the trailer and episode one have made him out to be. Give me a nuanced, three-dimensional character who fucks and fucks up a lot thinking he doesn't give a shit about anyone else but himself (and trying to get a repeat of whatever magical dicking Top gave him) and (please give this to me) catching feelings for the sweet dude who's into him and just wants to make him happy.
Anyway, I just think it's interesting.

Some scenes from Boston’s powerful Not Another Bomb protest yesterday. There were at least 500 people present from 20 different organizations. We heard from faith leaders, healthcare workers, community organizers, and two brave young boys from Gaza who were evacuated for treatment by HEAL Palestine.
Call your representatives and demand an end to funding Israel’s genocide.
Especially lean on your senators to introduce a Joint Resolution of Disapproval against the billions about to be given to Israel - copy-paste this into your browser to contact your senator:

XR Boston Members Lock Themselves to Massachusetts State House Gates
The Massachusetts Legislature did not pass any climate legislation in 2024. The Senate approved a weak climate bill, then the House produced a weaker one. Governor Healey stayed silent and has just filed a bill expediting new methane gas infrastructure.
In response, on Monday September 23, climate activists from Extinction Rebellion Boston (XR) disrupted business as usual at the Massachusetts State House. 3 activists spent the afternoon locked to the front gates, vowing to continue disruptions until the MA government announces an immediate ban on new fossil fuel infrastructure. Many of these activists had participated in XR Boston’s “State House Stand-Out” from June 2023 through July 2024, where volunteers stood outside the State House every business day, engaging staffers and passersby in conversation about the climate crisis. Surrounded with colorful flags and artwork, those volunteers became known for their cheerful, constant, informative presence. When the Massachusetts Legislature failed to pass a climate bill at the end of their session in July 2024, XR Boston wound down its operations at the Stand-Out, promising to return in another form. Today, we returned, and we are escalating our tactics.
As incredible as these three activists are, it’s almost equally inspiring to watch the XR Boston community support them. From hand-feeding pizza, to Oreo deliveries, cracking jokes, and shoulder massages, our rebels came together to make this disobedience possible. The banner-holders stayed with their locked-on friends for hours, offering their legs to be leaned on. It’s an inspiring reminder of the old XR saying: “Love and Rage.” In these photos, we hope you feel our rage, but more importantly we hope you feel our love.

it’s still on my mind, so i need to discuss it more and like here’s the thing. like i said, i think the idea that the narrative is slut shaming boston is a valid interpretation. if you are viewing this show through the lens of “what lessons are they trying to teach us?” and watch the show and see boston, the slut, in his last frame sad and alone, i can completely understand why you would think “this show is saying that sleeping around and being promiscuous is bad.” i get that! i understand it, i can see how you get to that conclusion.
but it’s like every single argument i see for it is so inherently flawed?? like it’s not even just the person who said that the other couples are heteronormative, it’s everyone that’s claiming boston had no backstory, or that mew was painted as the hero, that he was seen as actually above boston, that nick is also shaming him and saying he doesn’t love boston and boston needs to change for him. and none of those things are backed by the actual text!! they’re all highly skewed interpretations of canon that if you go back and actually look for come out wrong every time!
and the thing that gets me the most is that again, EVERYONE seems to forget that NICK ALSO GOT AN UNHAPPY ENDING! yeah sure, he got the last word and was the one to walk away, but do you seriously watch that last scene and think “yeah nick is so happy and not at all heartbroken over this situation.” and he’s not even MENTIONED in the last scene, unlike boston who is mentioned to be in new york where we can assume he’s happy. like if the narrative is punishing boston, it’s also punishing nick, which i haven’t seen a single person arguing for. because we all know that’s not the case! and i understand the urge to protect boston and being sad about his ending, believe me, but the idea that he’s actively being slutshamed and that the narrative is working against him personally just isn’t backed by the text.
