I've been learning English for about 16 years now and i've reached level C1/C2, but there's still things i can learn and improve (especially since English and other languages are like 99% of my job).
I'm using the app LingQ to find any English words i don't know yet and I'm currently reading "The Call of Cthulu" and "A Study in Scarlet". Here are the words i marked because i didn't know them or couldn't define their exact meanings (definitions are from Cambridge Dictionary):

enigmatic = mysterious and impossible to understand completely
febrile = caused by a fever; extremely active, or too excited, imaginative, or emotional
to girdle = to surround something
to intimate = to make clear what you think or want without saying it directly
digest = a short written report providing the most important parts of a larger piece of writing, or one containing recent news
dissent = a strong difference of opinion on a particular subject, especially about an official suggestion or plan or a popular belief
