Thinking about how, in The Tholian Web, Spock shows that he respects and understands McCoy by approaching him on a human level and calling him “Bones” (like Jim would do)

...and then McCoy shows he respects and understands Spock by granting him his dignity despite the emotional weight of the situation and calling him “Captain” (like Jim would do)

...and then both of them team up to charmingly bald-faced lie to Kirk to convince him that they never had time to watch his last orders, so they couldn't possibly have taken his advice...

OBSESSED with how lorelai calculatedly says the most inflammatory thing she can think of in order to stop chris's parents from targeting rory. this woman is standing in a tank of starving sharks and she dumps the chum bucket over her own head the instant straub makes her daughter uncomfortable. she doesn't cause a scene for no reason; she strategically weaponizes everybody's low expectations of her in order to stop straub from attacking rory and encourage him to attack her instead. and it WORKS. and she just sits there takes it. i see your daughter is just as out of control as ever, richard. but lorelai doesn't care what straub says about her because that was the point; she wants to him to come after her and forget that rory is there. if you'd attended a university as your parents had planned, and as we planned in vain for christopher, you might have aspired to more than a blue-collar position...you might not want to take such a haughty tone when you announce to the world that you work in a hotel.

and then she sends rory out of the room to safety and she sits there and continues to take it. she seduced him into ruining his life. she had that baby, and ended his future! and it doesn't matter because they're chewing on her and not her daughter and that was the point. she played them. they fell for it. and it doesn't mean that the things they say don't hurt her, because they do. it means she's willing to let herself be hurt in rory's place.

you can see the tense disapproval on lorelai's face when the group turns expectantly to rory like they're waiting for her to perform some kind of circus trick, and even though the gilmore grandparents + chris do it out of genuine admiration and pride, they don't understand how terrified rory feels about being asked to demonstrate genius on-demand in front of people who are already judging her for being born. rory looks reflexively at her mother with HELP written all over her face, and one needling comment from straub is all it takes for lorelai to offer herself up as a convenient (and familiar) punching bag.

Seeing people say that we never see the Doctor and Ruby talking for more than 30 seconds makes me think 73 Yards and Dot and Bubble has just clouded their memories because the first four episodes of this era are almost nothing but the Doctor and Ruby talking and bonding.

Yeah, the Doctor-lite episodes meant we haven't had as much lately, but so many are going on as there's been none at all, as if every episode before 73 Yards was like Rogue where they were mostly separated in their own plotlines.

I just finished ep 7 and I need ep 8 NOW. A lot of exposition at the start but these boys have me feral for how the relationship is progressing.

I love that they are both aware that there is something growing between them, something that they are on the precipice of acknowledging, and yet both are cautiously waiting for them both to be ready. Tian is still fearful and hesitant to take that step, of allowing himself to give in to what he wants. And Wang has realised he needs to be patient with Tian, reassure him that he will be by his side, that Wang can be the home and stability that Tian so desperately needs.

My favourite moment has to be Wang and Tian sitting by the river after Wang’s dad proposes to Tian’s mum. The event leads Wang to ask the million dollar question that is currently hangs between them - will Tian be upset about them becoming real brothers if Tian’s mum marries Wang’s dad? Neither of them can answer that honestly yet, because they know the answer will change everything.

I love how Wang has settled on Family as a way to describe their bond. They truly have become a family to each other as they learn to connect and understand each other. It doesn’t diminish their bond, and would be true whether they stay “brothers” or if they become romantic with each other. Everything is still in the air between them, understood but not acknowledged.

I am so excited for ep 8.

So here’s a rather fun idea that came to me after thinking about the whole idea of Aerial activating/moving on her own to protect Suletta, as to what we might be seeing next episode:

Due to being captured by Sophie or simply due to the damage the station has suffered, Suletta isn’t able to make it to the hanger where Aerial is.

However, Miorine manages to make it there. And when it becomes clear that Suletta has been cut off and is in trouble, Miorine does the same thing she did back in Episode 1, and gets in the Aerial.

Except this time, instead of just trying to take control, Miorine starts talking to Aerial. Basically she has a big character moment where she admits just how much she cares about and loves Suletta and begs Aerial to help her save Suletta.

Then Aerial powers up, and for the first time both Miorine and the audience hear Aerial speak. Probably something cute/cheeky like ‘Well why didn’t you say so?’ or teasing Miorine like you’d expect from a future sister-in-law XD

And with that, ‘The Witch from Mercury’ kicks in as Miorine and Aerial blast their way out of the hanger to go save Suletta.
