I love you people with mental illnesses considered “scary” by society. People with personality disorders, BIID, cotard's syndrome, DID, OSDD, schizophrenia, etc. You aren’t “scary.” You all deserve love, support, and to be happy.

reminder that pwBIID who successfully acquired their desired body are just as disabled as the next person.
them purposefully getting a limb amputated does not make them "less" of an amputee or "less" disabled than someone who lost their limb(s) unwillingly.

Since the most popular PRAT terms are all stolen, I (mod Adam) decided to make flags for the actual definition of these terms to try and take them back :)
Tumblr media
Transage - Age regressors, dreamers, and chronosian people who prefer the term. Can also apply to those who feel sort of “age stuck” due to trauma or neurodiversity.
-
Tumblr media
Transracial Adoptee - A person of one race or ethnicity adopted into a family of another race or ethnicity.
-
Tumblr media
Transspecies - Nonhumans or alterhumans who prefer the term.
-
Tumblr media
Transabled - People with BIID who prefer the term.
-
‼️ ALL THESE FLAGS ARE ANTI-PRAT ‼️

[ID: There are three flags. The two on the right and left are identical, but the one in the center has a symbol. The flag is a rectangular flag with 7 horizontal stripes flag, and colors in this order, top to bottom: Dark grey blue, a pale bluish cyan, black, white, black, a medium pinkish red, and dark scarlet. The black stripes are thinner, while the rest of the stripes are equal in size. There is a symbol on the center of the flag. The flag in the center has a symbol that is a heart that is split in half. It has a thick black outline and the inside of the symbol is white in color. /End ID]
BIID Flag
[PT: BIID flag /end PT]
BIID: Body integrity dysphoria (BID), also referred to as body integrity identity disorder (BIID), amputee identity disorder or xenomelia, and formerly called apotemnophilia, is a rare mental disorder characterized by a desire to have a sensory or physical disability or feeling discomfort with being able-bodied, beginning in early adolescence and resulting in harmful consequences.
There were no BIID flags that I could find, or at least, none that appealed to me and/or weren't related to transID/radqueer stuff.
This flag is for people with BIID only!

[ID: A transparent image of symbol on the flag. It is a heart that is split in half. It has a thick black outline and the inside of the symbol is white in color. /End ID]

can be used by anyone with BIID who is against the transabled/radqueer community in general (no middle finger cat one for the last flag, as the creator did not want their flag used in that way)

Hey due to a small rabbit hole I fell down I wanna speak some thoughts.
People with BIID are so fucking valid. I don't have it but like - I want those folks with it to know I support whatever they choose to do.
There's something so odd about BIID discourse and treatments and such. I've only scratched the surface so I can't have much of an opinion but-
If you seek out psychiatric treatments and ways to relieve the symptoms without surgery, I support you. If you are someone who has tried all they can and end up still needing surgeries to feel comfortable, I support you. If you can't do anything about your BIID yet, I hope you're able to find treatments/things to aid you.
And as someone who may be trans and has been looking into bodily autonomy discourse years due to debates - bodily autonomy should be granted to everyone. Even if the decisions make you cringe or you can't understand. Even if they don't make sense.
BIID itself is a disability and disorder. And if we're striving for a world that is accepting of disabilities, we need a world that will openly discuss and help those with BIID.
And to any people who are trans with BIID - I hope you find people who take you seriously and will help you find a suitable way to maintain your meatsuit.
Okay. That's all.

Having one of those nights where the dysmorphia is really sitting on me and I’m craving an escape I’ll never achieve or acquire
Siiiiiiigh
I’ve gotten better at coping and dealing with it all but there’s still some nights where the mental and physical symptoms I’m dealing with all combine and it’s just like … fuck

Was gonna post this on my other blog, but I don't feel like risking my family finding it for personal reasons. So I'm posting this here (may delete later)..
I hate trying to find info on lesser known disorders. Like right now, trying to find things on P-DID and BID/BIID is so difficult it's annoying.
I found just enough to be like "maybe thats me. But I'm not sure."
But I can't find enough info to figure it out. Most of stuff about P-DID is just about DID or osdd only. I can't find much on P-DID specifically. And BID info or tags is full of transabled stuff. I've found more about radqueers and transable and transplural than I have about these disorders that actually affect people.
It's gotten to the point that every time I question, "is that me?" I start hating myself and telling myself I'm just being a radqueer and trying to identify as something I'm not or that I'm faking for attention.
It sucks.

Here’s some positivity for systems with body integrity identity disorder (BIID)!
Body integrity identity disorder is a valid mental illness that can be quite serious. However, people who suffer with this illness are no less deserving of respect and autonomy! This post goes out -
To those who are significantly distressed by their disorder(s)!
To those with psychosis or delusions who truly believe they have a disorder they don’t!
To those who are seeking treatment for their BIID through therapy, medications, or peer support groups!
To those who are anti transabled and who speak out against ableism within their communities!
To those whose BIID stems directly from trauma!
To those who have complicated relationships with their bodies due to their BIID!
To those whose symptoms are exacerbated by body dysmorphia, comorbidities, or other issues!
To those with BIID who are therian, otherkin, alterhuman, or nonhuman in some way!
To individual headmates who are symptom holders for BIID symptoms!
To those with scars and/or deformities from medical trauma or botched amputation attempts!
To those who are sad that they’ll never look on the outside the way they feel on the inside!
To those who used to be part of the radqueer/transabled communities, but left after they learned more about their disorder!
To those who are questioning whether or not they have BIID!
To those who have done the research and self-diagnosed!
To those who have been diagnosed by professionals!
To those who struggle with depersonalization, identity confusion, or other identity-related issues!
We are wishing you all a future of hope, healing, happiness, and loads of self-acceptance. Please know that your disorder is real, your concerns are valid, and you deserve to be heard and take up space in your communities! We care about you, we’re rooting for you, and we wish each one of you the very best in all that you do!

Hi! Can I get some BIID userboxes please? For both singlets and systems? Preferably with something along the following:
- This user/system has or suffers from BllD
- This headmate is affected the most by their BIID
- This user/system prefers to use a wheelchair to help them deal with their BIID
- This user/system prefers to use a cane or crutches to help them deal with their BIID
- This user/system wishes to use prosthetics in the future
- This user/system desires limb amputation because of BllD
- This user/system desires to be paralyzed because of BIID
- This user/system desires to be half-blind/missing an eye because of BIID
-This user/system desires to be blind because of BIID
- This user/system desires to be deaf because of BIID
- This user/system desires to be mute because of BIID
Can the userboxes also be some orange color as well? Thanks in advance
Of course! Here you go! I included an extra userbox that says "This user/system desires to have more than one disability because of BIID"

(PLEASE NOTE: I am not saying the anime characters I chose wanted to have their disability, I simply used them because I know people who connect with these characters and their disabilities.)

Dear, the big problem about transableism and trans-whatever (trans autism ie.) is the lacking of affective responsibility coming from those transabled individual. And the lack of introspection too.
It’s not about your screaming desires of being something. You (and All the transabled community) need to understand that we live in a society and we have to accept and tolerate each other, but also to not hurt others. Your desires to be something else are not your identity. You hurt others, but more importantly, you hurt yourselves.
It’s about accepting who you really are, without your obsessions towards neurodevelopmental and mental disorders. Your real identity and essence is more than the disorders that you are pursuing.
Maybe you are just very sensitive toward people with this conditions, and that’s ok! And maybe your imagination and narrative talents are far beyond the mean, and that’s cool. Also I’ve read that you are good at collecting and applying data. But pursuing transableism is not ok.
Be you.
I am not transabled in anyway, shape or form.
I don't know entirely what it's like to be transabled.
But this gives me some real "have you tried not being depressed?" vibes
Currently, not a lot of research has been done into people who identify with mental illnesses they don't have. But... research has been done into BIID, where people may feel like they should have a physical disability they don't have.
And in these cases, it's not something that can be controlled or willed away.
It's not even just wanting to, but feeling like you're supposed to and that the fact that you don't is fundamentally wrong. And no matter how much you try, you can never quite shake the thought that you would be better if you were how you're "supposed" to be.
Is this what it's like to be transautistic too? I really don't know. But it seems reasonable to think many are experiencing something similar, but in relation to mental illnesses instead of just physical.
And like with the BIID groups, I don't think it's as easy for many of them as just "accepting themselves".
As for harm, there are plenty of things that are harmful to us as an Autistic system. A small subgroup of a small subgroup of people on the internet identifying as transautistic really doesn't make the list.
