I understand everybody was coming out with new sites every other day for a while there so I respect your decision to stay on the burning ship if you choose to. <3

I do have a bluesky! Just tired of posting everything to 200 different places all the time and not much was going on over there when I joined. So I guess I'm part of the problem for leaving instead of trying to make it into a place full of content...

But yeah unfortunately at this point I have too many twitter followers to jump that shi(t)p as a self-employed artist. I do lowkey hope it burns down.

Don’t join Bluesky, it trains AI on your posts and hosts hate groups

BlueSky uses AI to label content for moderation, and to do that they use a company called thehive.ai If you look through their privacy policy, you will see that they use all content sent to them to train models for all their services, which include generative AI for both text and images.

It’s a built in “feature” and cannot be turned off.”

Knowingly hosting hate-groups

Bluesky will knowingly host hate groups but thinks it’s okay since you can hide them in your settings:

Even if bluesky is compatible wit the fediverse, no fediverse server will want to link with bluesky because it also means allowing those hate groups to access their fediverse instance.

Bluesky posts are only visible to people who are logged in

Also bluesky posts are not visible to people who aren’t logged in, just like Twitter. But it’s worse than Twitter: as of right now, new registrations on bluesky have been closed. No-one can follow you!

I wanna branch out but ain't no way i'm givin elon my art, and Instagram is so shit with it's search function that only shows popular posts. Bluesky seems pretty safe.
