⟡☾ ❃ 𝕿𝖔 𝕭𝖎 𝕱𝖊𝖒𝖒𝖊𝖘 ❃☽⟡
I was asked a little while ago by @lxdybi to make an art piece honoring and celebrating bi femmes! I of course have honored bi butches with artwork several times before so i was very happy to take advantage of this opportunity to recognize the importance and value of bisexual femmes (of all genders and orientations) in the bisexual community and queer community at large.
So much thanks to the bi femmes in our community we wouldn’t be the same without you <3
⟡
The symbolisms in this piece!
lavender colored roses: to honor the color lavender used in sapphics spaces
moth (on one of the bags): moths are an unofficial symbol of bisexuality (usually displayed in the form of a tattoo) and occasionally used in flagging
trillium flowers (on the sleeves of the pink dress and in the border): a flower used to symbolize bisexuality known in the botanical sense for its perfect bisexual nature (having equal male and female structures)

Tumblr Tuesday: Yellowjackets Art (& Spoilers)
The drama girlies are back. Season 3 of that show about a teenage soccer team that sort of survives a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness and subsequently gets up to various dark and disturbing shenanigans is upon us as we speak, and the plot thickens, as it is wont to do. Please enjoy this offering of Yellowjackets art to keep you all sated til the next episode.
(And please scroll ahead at your own discretion—some mild spoilers, body horror, and gore ahead.)

Gilbert Baker (June 2, 1951 - March 31, 2017) was a gay American artist, designer and activist, best known as the primary creator of the rainbow flag. In 1972 Baker was living in Chicago as an openly gay man, he was taught to sew by a fellow activist, Mary Dunn, using these skills to create banners for gay-rights and anti-war protest marches. It was also during this time that he met and became friends with Harvey Milk, an influential gay leader, who challenged Baker to create a new symbol of pride for the gay community.
The first rainbow flags were produced by a team that included Baker, seamster James McNamara and artist Lynn Segerblom. Segerblom, who was then known as Faerie Argyle Rainbow, reports to have created the original dyeing process for the flags. Thirty volunteers hand-dyed and stitched the first two flags for the parade. These original flags flew at the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade celebration on June 25, 1978.
Though many variations have emerged in the decades since, the original design had eight stripes, with a specific meaning assigned to each of the colours: Hot pink for “sex”, red for “life”, orange for “healing”, yellow for “sunlight”, green for “nature”, turquoise for “magic” (though sometimes given as “art”?), indigo for “serenity” and violet for “spirit”.
I’m a little late for pride month, but I got all this done a lot quicker than I expected considering I only started working on it at the beginning of June (though I’ve been planning it on and off for a few years now😅). I did a lot of research and planning for each piece, and there was a lot I wanted to communicate with the project as a whole - it’s been a lot of work, and I challenged myself with a bunch of stuff I’m not familiar with, but I’m really happy with how everything turned out.
Happy pride, everyone, here’s to our community, to all the work that got us here, and to all the progress still to come! 🏳️🌈✨🏳️⚧️

Did you know? (Art by CheekyFaceStyles)
Did you know that queer people, including us bisexuals, have always existed and will always exist year round, regardless of visibility, acceptance, or legal recognition? Existing as bisexual isn’t a phase, a fraction, or a footnote in history it’s a continuous, undeniable part of humanity, woven into every culture, generation, and community. Despite myths, phobia, and erasure, we are everywhere in every industry, every movement, and every corner of society. Our existence shouldn’t be erased from history. We shouldn’t be left out of conversations or fade away when it’s inconvenient, nor does our identity disappear when representation slips from view. We are not some kind of 'in between'; we are whole, valid, and valued. The question isn’t whether we belong, because we do. The real question is how we ensure that our presence is impossible to ignore, our contributions are fully recognized, and our community is strengthened by the truth that we have always been here and always will be.

hey y’all! here’s part one of a series of four collages I was commissioned to make recently. my goal was to create a cohesive set of erotic collages that were centered around male bisexuality and polyamory. I went for a bisexual pride flag color palette and ended up with an outer space theme! I also wanted to primarily use images and art from my vintage gay magazine collection.
these collages are on 12x12 inch cradled wood panels that I painted black. I let the paint I applied to the collages drip off the sides then I varnished over the entire panel. the finish is "satin" which has more sheen than matte but isn't super glossy.
for this collage, I used scrapbook paper, a printed scan from Come Out! (newspaper), a clipping from Mandate (magazine), a printed stock photo, a gel pen, acrylic paint, and water-based varnish.
I've posted all the other collages individually as well (two, three, and four!) and you can see them all together as they're intended to be displayed as well here!
