It’s kinda become a tradition for me to redraw this princess drawing from when I was a kid every 5 years, it seems! I’m not sure exactly when the original is from, but the redraws are from 2015, 2020 and now 2025! She’s one of the oldest drawings I have, so she means a lot to me 💙

2013 ~ 2024
This has been sat in my drafts for a while so I figured I’d share her. I had a lot of fun redrawing this, I especially enjoy it when I’ve kept the characters s, since it’s fun to see how both my skills and their designs have changed over the years! This is Georgiana, a vaguely 18th century lady from a story that’ll probably never get written…but she’s a fun way to explore rococo-esque fashion; her gown is Robe à la Polonaise inspired!

Femslash February- Week 1
2015 - 2023
I’ve wanted to redraw some of my old wlw art from my deviantart days, and it turns out they were all posted in or around February 8 years ago, so it felt right to redo them for Femslash Feb this year! This one was a little meet-cute between a very shy and very outgoing girl - who of course will fall in love. Their names are Amie (blonde) and Roxie (brunette), I really enjoyed drawing them again!

Femslash February - Week 2
This was among the first art I ever posted to tumblr, back in the day! And these two featured in FF back in 2021, as well. They were a big part of my own journey of discovering my identity, so they (and the original drawing) mean a lot to me.

Femslash February - Red
“Red is the color of broken things, but it is the color of desire as well. The color of love…and red, red is the color of her hair”

Femslash February- Week 3
The original here had been inspired by the “Once Upon a Dream” scene from Sleeping Beauty, I was very excited to revisit it and add some more structure and detail to their clothing! The background on the original is a (rather poorly) edited in photograph, which even at the time I thought looked lazy, so though I’m still not great at backgrounds I challenged myself to paint it. And of course, their designs have changed a little over time as well…their names are Rosa (brown hair) and Annie (red hair) if you’re interested!

Femslash February- Week 4
Last one! These two also appeared in Femslash Feb 2021, the original is from 2015, and their designs have changed a lot since then. I remember I was super proud of this (I also remember it crashing my primitive art program multiple times), so it was nice to be able to update it 💙

Gilbert Baker (June 2, 1951 - March 31, 2017) was a gay American artist, designer and activist, best known as the primary creator of the rainbow flag. In 1972 Baker was living in Chicago as an openly gay man, he was taught to sew by a fellow activist, Mary Dunn, using these skills to create banners for gay-rights and anti-war protest marches. It was also during this time that he met and became friends with Harvey Milk, an influential gay leader, who challenged Baker to create a new symbol of pride for the gay community.
The first rainbow flags were produced by a team that included Baker, seamster James McNamara and artist Lynn Segerblom. Segerblom, who was then known as Faerie Argyle Rainbow, reports to have created the original dyeing process for the flags. Thirty volunteers hand-dyed and stitched the first two flags for the parade. These original flags flew at the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade celebration on June 25, 1978.
Though many variations have emerged in the decades since, the original design had eight stripes, with a specific meaning assigned to each of the colours: Hot pink for “sex”, red for “life”, orange for “healing”, yellow for “sunlight”, green for “nature”, turquoise for “magic” (though sometimes given as “art”?), indigo for “serenity” and violet for “spirit”.
I’m a little late for pride month, but I got all this done a lot quicker than I expected considering I only started working on it at the beginning of June (though I’ve been planning it on and off for a few years now😅). I did a lot of research and planning for each piece, and there was a lot I wanted to communicate with the project as a whole - it’s been a lot of work, and I challenged myself with a bunch of stuff I’m not familiar with, but I’m really happy with how everything turned out.
Happy pride, everyone, here’s to our community, to all the work that got us here, and to all the progress still to come! 🏳️‍🌈✨🏳️‍⚧️

2014 ~ 2024
10 years apart! 10 years exactly from the first upload, in fact! 2014 was a big year for me in a lot of ways, and this drawing has always felt like a time capsule of that era because of how much I experimented with it - I have never been one for drawing backgrounds, any time I do one feels like a momentous achievement, frankly - and how proud I was of it at the time. Apologies for the repetitiveness of the redraws, but they’re genuinely very cathartic and are pulling me out of a pretty serious slump.
