body hair is beautiful on anyone
facial hair is beautiful on anyone
it doesn't necessarily make you more masculine or less feminine. hair is what you make of it. what you do and how you cultivate your body hair and your facial hair is no one's business but your own.
this post is for me, but its also for anyone else who chooses to keep and grow their body and facial hair. you are not ugly or dirty or gross for it.
your hair belongs exactly where you decide it does. it is yours and no one else's.
and it is beautiful.

i lost a lot of muscle from my chronic illness so my mother wanted to feel how much i had left. i was indifferent until apparently in order to feel my muscle required her to lift up my pant leg, revealing a very atrophied, very hairy leg. i detest shaving generally, but even if i wanted to, i can't anymore because i have essential tremor, extreme fatigue, and joint pain that makes even shampooing more than once a week a painful feat. i have a doctor's appointment coming up, and rather than commenting on my lack of muscle, my mother chose to comment on my hair. her: "you should probably shave your legs before you see your doctor!"
me: "...i can't shave. i would cut myself open. i have a tremor. it never goes away and it is extremely hard to even wash my hair." her: "oh... well... what about waxing?"
me: "i can't afford that. and i don't have the strength or energy to do it myself." her: *silence* me: *silence* anyway, i share this anecdote bc whether you can or can't shave and choose not to, despite being expected to for your gender expression, it's YOUR body, and that's what most bodies do, and having a body that does that isn't bad or gross or ugly, just existing isn't wrong, and you ABSOLUTELY positively most definitely never ever have to shave for someone else... like your medical specialist who almost certainly doesn't give a crap (and if they did, well, maybe look for a new one). in fact, if anyone convinces you to shave for THEIR comfort, i encourage you not to, and proceed to wave said body hair in their face, to help with your own personal comfort. :) ((side note: this especially applies to disabled folk who have no choice in the matter and/or to poor folk who can't afford luxuries such as body hair removal)) (remember, laser hair removal and full body waxing are luxuries, not necessities) (also shouldn't have to ever explain your reason for personal choices, but here i am doing it anyway)
this has been a psa thank you and good day

I know the “cool thing” now is for idols of all genders to have no body hair but as someone who doesn’t shave it comforts me so much to see mingi’s happy trail bc i’m insecure about mine (it’s thick and noticeable) and mingi is someone i look up to a lot :)

Random thought of the day: Why is female body hair still so rare in media? I've got no love for our corporate media overlords, but fair to say that (while there is still plenty more work to be done) representation for women of all races, ages, cultures, religions and sexualities has improved massively over the past few years/decades. But on this issue we still seem painfully behind.
Like, you could be watching a show or film about a female character surviving on a desert island for years, and the makeup/prosthetics department will go all out to give her a filthy face, muddy hair, tattered clothes etc. Yet somehow, she will always inexplicably have smooth, hairless legs despite how unrealistic that would be in that situation.
Why is our media so reluctant to depict, platform or celebrate women who cannot or choose not to remove their body hair?

I HAVE BEEN SO INACTIVE. shit hit the fan in a sense. But I have one fucking message for EVERYONE WHO CRAVES SMOOTH UNHAIRY SKIN
If you have a phobia of hairy bodies. This discludes you out of respect!
First of all, let me address the elephant in the room. You can have smooth skin and be hairy. My legs have been the smoothest ever since I stopped shaving them. With lotion, the right body care routine that works for you, AND with products that are suited for that purpose. Hell even the correct body wash can help tons. If you are easily iritated by certain wash. Get sensitive skin products. You can have peach fuzz and still be soft.
Don't worry about that peach fuzz on your arms. Legs. And belly. Don't worry about it on your face either. That's how you get cuts if your not careful!!!
Same with your armpits. You can get smooth armpits without shaving.
In fact bumpier skin can be a result of shaving. BECAUSE HAIR WHEN STUBBY IS BUMPY
I do not!! I repeat!!! DO NOT want to hear anymore how smooth skin is associated with hairless legs!!! Hairless stomachs, hairless armpits, and faces!!!
SMOOTHNESS DOES NOT EQUAL NO HAIR.
MY LEGS ARE AS SMOOTH AS A BABYS RUMP
MY ARMS AND FACE ARE GLORIOUS AND I DONT GOTTA SHAVE TO PROVE IT.
CAPICHE!? I'm looking at ALL of you skincare routine folks. And you don't even have to be an influencer IM STILL LOOKING AT YOUR SOUL
Do me a favor and look up close with a magnifying glass on your legs. See those spots? Those are your follicles. The ones you torture with exfoliation. Do not exfoliate for over 2 minutes at tops. Hell A REGULAR WASHCLOTH IS FINE.
And do me another favor and look at your armpits. See those bumps? Those are also your follicles. YOU CAN BLEED IF YOU EXCESSIVELY TRY TO SHAVE. OR WHATEVER HAVE YOU
So please. Be nice to your skin. And your hair. You can achieve smoothness without ridding your body of its natural sensors.

Someone asked me if I was okay with body hair on woman, and I simply said “Of course, it’s natural. I don’t care if girls shave or not. My girlfriend doesn’t shave, it doesn’t make her any less pretty.” To my girls out there, only shave if you want to. Your body, your choice. <3
(They called me a freak afterwards though lmao 😅)

If you're afraid of/disgusted by body hair on ANY person (man, woman, anybody in between or outside the binary), you're weak and the gods will crush your tiny body between two slabs of steel for fun, flattening you like a looney tunes character.
Body hair is perfectly fine, natural, and if your hygiene is fine, who cares? Leg hair, arm hair, pubic hair, armpit hair, chest hair, facial hair (including peach fuzz), any hair is good.
Of course, if you only apply body hair standards to yourself, and nobody else, and shaving makes you feel comfortable - do what makes you feel best. Just don't be a cunt to other people who have a different view than you.
"But how will I look in a skirt/shorts/dress/revealing clothes of any kind?" You'll look good and if anybody has anything negative to say, kick them in the jaw.
"But I wanna shave" then do it for yourself. Also, don't police other peoples' choice to shave or not shave just because you have an opinion on your own body hair.
(My post isn't meant to be judgemental towards anybody who DOES shave, it's meant to empower those who don't want to but feel pressured to do so).
"But it makes me uncomfy to see people with body hair" grow up, coward. Most people have some body hair, some - more, some - less or none at all. Deal with it.
"But I'm a woman" ...and? Who's getting in your way? Someguy Cuntbrain? Why care what anybody thinks? Do what makes YOU happy. Don't shave if you feel forced to do it, shave only if that's what YOU want to do.
"Sensory issues though" that's reasonable, I get that myself from time to time, but I'll only ever apply that reasoning to my own body. I'd never make another person shave.
Body hair needs more appreciation and love.
