Pride thing, June 3rd: Exoskeleton!

Skelly is one of my sonas. I never draw him the same because. Uh. She's just too cool to have a consistent design. Definitely not just because I stuck a load of really inconsistent aspects of my art style into their design to make hir look cool.

By the way - I've been doing the shading and lighting with colours from the pride flags. There was a lot of choice this time, but I ended up choosing the pink from the bi flag and the purple from the ace flag!

Toronto Pride Parade, Trans March & Dyke March 2023 (preliminary info)

Happy Pride Month for those around these parts! We’re going to have groups in all 3 marches again this year. Please RSVP to  Please RSVP (toronto.ace.aro.pride@gmail.com ) if you’d like to attend *any* of the marches.

Here are the preliminary details and accessibility info below-- More details coming soon:

1) Trans March-- Friday, June 23th, rally at approx 7pm, march at 8pm

Everyone is welcome who *is among* or *supports* trans, non-binary, 2-Spirit folx and gender diversity! 

We're planning to march midway through the group because we expect many though not all participants will be trans/non-binary, and they are asking to prioritise trans and non-binary folks near the front

"While allies are welcome to join, we ask that they respect the importance of this space and leave room for Trans folks to celebrate at the front of the march!" (source)

2) Dyke March-- Saturday, June 24th, rally at approx 1pm, march at 2pm

Everyone is welcome who *is among* or *supports* dykes and lesbians (broadly defined, including dykes and lesbians of various genders, including non-binary and transmasculine dykes etc.), bi+ women and femmes, and/or trans women and trans feminine folks of all sexual orientations. 

The group will determine where in the march to march based on who shows up to participate

"While this event is specifically for Dykes and Lesbian, allies are more welcome to join, however, when marching and rallying we do ask that allies leave space for folks who identify as Dyke or Lesbian to celebrate at the front!" (source)

3) Pride Parade-- Sunday, June 25th, meet at 2:45 pm. [Note: the route / endpoint has changed this year]

Everyone welcome who is among or supports people under the ace and/or aro umbrella(s), trans umbrella and/or everyone affected by homophobia and transphobia! 

Like in past years, we continue to invite people (especially trans/non-binary and/or bi+ folks) to march which us who don't have another group to march with, particularly those with more radical politics opposing structures of oppression. We expect everyone to abide by our Respect Guidelines.

Accessibility --

Please note these are large, crowded, outdoor, rain-or-shine events that involve approximately 2km of slow walking/travelling during the routes (possibly more for the parade) and they are **mask-optional** (i.e., most people attending in the general crowds likely will not be wearing masks)

If you have any accessibility requests, please let me know asap (Pride Toronto has been especially slow to respond to emails this year).

In the past, people who have needed to borrow a wheelchair to participate have been able to do that. While Pride Toronto does not seem to be offering that this year, if you would need to borrow a wheelchair to participate and want to, please let us know ASAP and we'll see if we can arrange it.

Pride Toronto will have ASL interpretation at the rallies. Their info is very vague on whether they have other ASL interpretation support. If you have any ASL-related requests (for example, if you need ASL in order to participate as you would like in a march), please let us know ASAP and we'll see what we can arrange.

Scout: repressed bisexual. If I ever get around to making that tf2 fangame, he must fight the physical manifestation of his internalised homophobia and he promptly begins flirting with half the guys on the team.

Soldier: if you asked him, he'd say his true love is AMERICA (eagle sfx). He's into anyone really, no preference

Pyro: doesn't think about labels. Love is love and by love they mean ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Do you have any head cannons for the Witch Queen (+the generals)?

Ooh yes

The Witch Queen had a personal tailor and put a lot of effort into her appearance. It might have occurred to her to dislike her magic scarring, but with her pride she fully leant into it

Lennox is the only general who cares about his appearance in the same way. Alain just wants to look how the Witch Queen wants him to, Helena and Magnus have other priorities, and Jinhai could not find a fuck to give

The WQ, Alain, Magnus, and Lennox all lived in the capital before her takeover, though Magnus and Lennox only met her after

Lennox and Jinhai were already outcasted by the Fairy and Elven domains respectively before joining the WQ. The scope of their crimes only expanded with her influence. Magnus was simply a soldier who chose a side.

The WQ had a few relationships that fizzled out before she became infatuated with the King. Most, if not all of them died in the war

The Witch Queen and Lennox are bi, Magnus is pan, Jinhai is ace, Helena is a lesbian, then Alain is straight and greyromantic but his general sexuality and romanticism is entirely distorted by his obsession with the WQ

Magnus might be married, but neither he nor his spouse were that attached before he left to become the WQ's general

The WQ keeps emotional distance from the generals as their queen, but she's fairly genial with Jinhai

Whenever the generals drink together, it's unpleasant and often violent. Alain has by far the lowest alcohol tolerance and Magnus, Lennox, and Jinhai are happy to leave him poisoned on the floor. Helena probably drank with them once early on before swearing off alcohol entirely

Magnus loves reading and watching overly-complicated social dramas. He cannot hate it more in his real life

Lennox knows how to play several instruments and is the best dancer of them all, though he doesn't get much opportunity to show it off

Alain and Magnus have absolutely no magic talent. While Helena is the WQ's apprentice and magical expert, Jinhai and Lennox both specialise in charms over animals and humans respectively but Lennox's charms get stronger over crowds and Jinhai's more powerful targeting specific creatures

Kind of canon, but the WQ is not originally the same age as the MC. She's 30 like Alain and Helena

Following, Jinhai is the oldest (300+), Lennox is ~90, Magnus is mid 40s
