Probably! I really like TLOVM and it'll be fun to see how the handle a different sort of party. I'm also super excited to see what changes they end up making considering they get to take a campaign and streamline it into a seasonal narrative. I know already we'll get to see some of the session 0 stuff and Essek is showing up a bit sooner so that's going to be interesting

It ends up being pretty funny because the Witch Queen ends up with the heir of the Human Domain, a prince of the Elven domain, and the firstborn princess of Eclaciel. That's a pretty good start for taking over everything

Magnus was the head knight at the Capital, but when the Witch Queen took the throne, he took a stand against her and ended up leading the resistance that killed her. Reiner, bitter as second-in-line, sold out his mother and brother to the Witch Queen in exchange for power and a title. However, with the defeat of the Witch Queen, the Human Domain was seized from him and given to Magnus for him to protect after the war

Alain grew up the same orphaned stable boy on the Witch Queen's family estate, but when he uncovered her scheme to kill the king, he stood up to her. He was recruited into the resistance once Magnus uncovered his personal connection to the Witch Queen, but still grapples with the guilt of fighting her. August joined the Witch Queen for security, knowing her power would overwhelm the domains and by earning a place on her side, he'd earn protection for his family. His immunity to magic made him key in the fight against Ishara and Helena and that and his unerring loyalty made him a general.

Jinhai is a simple protector of beasts, with a special connection to animals that drives him to fight against the Witch Queen. He'd rather spend his days alone, away from people, but he wasn't going to sit back when he had the chance to fight. Now the war's over, he's planning to leave back to the Elven domain but he's a bit more attached than he thinks. Prince Iseul couldn't be bothered with the expectations and responsibilities of royalty, so he defected for the chance for some actual freedom to do whatever he wants. He entertains himself with poisons and plants

Lennox is a charming traveller who helped out whenever he could, quickly finding his wide network allowed him to organise relief and gather intelligence during the war. Saerys, meanwhile, is all alone. After being rejected by the Demon Domain as a child, he joined the Witch Queen to burn it all down. He's dedicated to unleashing his full power as the last demon in service to the Witch Queen

Okay so this might be a bit random but theres so few L&L fans remaining to tell this thought to and ADHD is kicking in but-

Hunter by Paris Paloma is very Altea, and Helena coded to me. I've always loved how, although most of the generals are opposites to the retainers, altea and helena have always felt more like parallels. If you swapped them around from each other, i think its totally plausible that altea would end up in pretty much the exact same situation as helena did. And i lowkey wish the og game used that dynamic more when writing them interacting.

Thank you for getting me obsessed with a concept. If I made animatics, this song would be perfect for it

Helena and Altea are by far the most fascinating general-retainer pairing. They could have easily become each other if they'd just met someone else and they both know it. Helena needs to kill Altea to prove that she has no escape and Altea needs to kill Helena to prove that she never would have caved, but neither of them have the power to do it no matter how hard they try

You also get the sense that neither would be satisfied with it

It's weird trying to imagine them in their different roles, though, and WAY creepier given Altea only turned 18 as the war ended. I feel like I'd have to bump up the ages just to avoid that can of worms with her relationship to the Witch Queen. But aside from that, Altea's a lot flashier than Helena and less martial, so I feel like she'd fully lean into the evil witch aesthetic vs Helena who'd probably stick with simple robes and armour.

Helena focuses a lot on support and building up the domains, repairing homes, helping fields grow, putting up wards, etc. and Altea is an explosion of force tearing it all down. As a result, her magical corruption is less a decay and more fractures in her skin with magic desperate to escape

Regarding your fantasy races in love and legends. You probably mentioned and illustrated something similar, however, would it be alright to make illustrative examples of how could mixed fantasy races look like? For example, human-fairy, elf-fairy, merfolk-fairy, merfolk-elf, dwarf-elf etc.

Unfortunately, I think merfolk and the other races are too distinct to have children, but all the others are perfectly compatible

Randomising some kids, you can roughly see how these traits mix and match:

Elves and dwarves both have large ears, so they tend to average out into wider, bat-esque ears. It's very common for elf/dwarves to inherit echolocaton as a result. However, elves struggle to grow natural facial hair so they mostly end up with consistent stubble (regardless of gender). Their stature is usually short, but varies wildly in build

Humans and elves average out the ears into something that more resembles rounded demon ears. Their eyes are usually a bit less reflective and it's a coin flip if they inherit nature magic

Demons and humans round out the ears and markings. The markings are less detailed and more like patches of colour rather than detailed patterns. Their canines are sharper than average and require more protein than humans (and less than demons)

Fairies and demons tend to manifest smaller/less frequent markings than demons, but they'll be vivid with their magic. Whether their eyes have irises is another coin flip, but if not, they'll be especially brightly coloured

Dwarves and fairies inherit thick dwarven facial hair with no issue, and it'll often be brightly coloured or sparkly to match their magic. Their stature averages between short and average and their singing naturally influences people's emotions

Overall, lifespan varies but tends to average between the two. e.g. a human life expectancy of 80 and an elven life expectancy of 700 will end up 300-400. This is the biggest reason any pairing becomes less common as shorter-lived parents struggle to raise children who stay children for decades and longer-lived parents struggle to see their children grow old before them
