I recently read the novel "Renegade" which basically is about Kirk believing McCoy and Spock are dead while McCoy and Spock simultaneously are being hunted down for being assassins/spies. Idk it was a drug trip. Klingons were involved, so was the guy who faked his death cause he was salty at Kirk. Anyways!

While I was reading it I noticed that as soon as Kirk got over his initial shock of his space BFF's dying he immediately gets super irritated at the guests on his ship and sometimes his own crew. In fact the only way Kirk chills tf out is with McCoy's phantom voice in his ear telling him to lay off his crew. Kirk also is super glum about all the science-y stuff they have to do cause he knows that Spock could do it better.

Which is super interesting as a concept! Kirk relies on Bones and Spock so much that both of them still stick with him as he navigates through the grief of losing them (even if he actually didn't).

Next on my list is "Ismael" which I think is time travelling! I'll tell y'all all about it later ;)
