Chronic shower sharer. If you’re showering, he’s showering. Just enjoys spending the time with you
Hogs the water and adjusts the temperature for his liking, even if you got in there first
Washes your hair and body tenderly, massaging you gently with your favourite soaps and presses soft kisses to your shoulders as the water rinses your skin
Always comments on the smell of everything and tells you his favourites so you buy them again. Also takes into consideration the smells you like best on him
Loves when you return the favour and wash him. He’s a glutton for being pampered
Avid skin-care enthusiast. You don’t get skin that pretty without some TLC. Definitely takes sunscreen away with him
If you’re into skin-care as well, he enjoys doing it together (read: he enjoys lying in your lap and having you take care of his skin for him. Don’t worry, he’ll return the favour)
Does enjoy a cheeky swipe of moisturiser on your face when you’re not paying attention then bolts out of the room before you can retaliate
He’s also a neat man, meticulously laying out your bathroom bench or shelves with products so they’re easy to grab
Enjoys having his face mostly clean shaven when he’s home, but goes to a barber more often than doing it himself
Pushes the toothpaste from the bottom, making it easy to get most of it out
John Price
Not really a fan of sharing showers but enjoys sharing the bathroom at the same time
He likes doing his beard routine/ casual trims if you’re in the shower and vice versa for your small daily tasks whether it be hair or skin care
However, if you are looking to have a bath and you have one big enough to hold you both? You can be damn sure he’s joining you
Also makes it a big deal when he’s back. There’s candles, drinks, bath salts, and a movie playing in the background as you relax, back against his chest
Cannot keep his hands to himself. As you’re paying attention to the movie, his hands are gliding down your sides and over your thighs
Tells you to keep focusing on the movie if you start squirming too much before doubling down
Not big on skin care, but has a beard care range. Thoroughly enjoys spending his time re-shaping his beard especially after coming back, then having you keep up the smaller trims here and there
Does let you put moisturiser and sunscreen on his face but that’s it
Enjoys brushing, stroking, and/ or braiding your hair as you brush your teeth
Sits on the toilet for an hour despite knowing it’s bad for his bowel health
Clenches the middle of the toothpaste tube initially, but does push it up from the bottom when it gets low
Johnny “Soap” MacTavish
Gremlin in the bathroom. Invades your space. Like Kyle; if you’re showering, he’s showering even if he’s already washed himself for the day
Unapologetically pees in the shower and on you if you’re not careful
Enjoys washing you. Or rather, your chest. Loves soapy nipples. It’s the cleanest part of your body
Also abuses your body with the detachable shower head, holding it between your legs as he pins you to the wall, making you whine
Encourages you to wash him too, trapping your wrists and running your hands over his body suggestively
Can’t have a minute alone with this man. Always has something to talk to you about or show you so there’s no point closing the door
Washes his face with water; bar soap if he’s particularly dirty. We all know he’s a 3 in 1 user
Skin is crusty when he comes back from missions but sits pretty for you if you want to put moisturiser on his face (read: you’ll have to sit on his chest and pin him down but he likes it)
Also another one to spend an hour on the toilet but doesn’t think it’s an issue. Wants you to sit in there with him (no thanks)
Adores it when you shave his mohawk for him. Pretends he can’t do it himself if you’re around. Loves the way your eyes squint in concentration and move his head around forcefully, barking orders at him to sit still
Squeezes the toothpaste right at the top, doesn’t close the lid and leaves it in the sink
Simon “Ghost” Riley
Like Price, also not a shower sharer fan, especially early on in the relationship
The size of him is the main reason, but also wary of making you anxious about his heavily scarred body
No preference of soap or shampoo, probably whatever he’s stolen from base. Also doesn’t use conditioner
Doesn’t mind sharing the bathroom with you though once he gets comfortable, if you happen to be in there at the same time
If you’re having a bath, he won’t join you in the bath, but rather sit next to it on a stool either silently or having quiet conversations with you
Does love washing your hair as he enjoys the way you moan softly at the feeling of his strong hands pressing into your scalp
Always takes deep breaths of your hair and skin when it’s clean, committing the smell to memory
He wears a mask most of the time. He has acne because he doesn’t really wash it, especially on deployment
Doesn’t really care about treating it, but sits for you if you express an interest in taking care of it for him. He won’t admit it, but he is also a glutton for being pampered
Tries to remember what you’ve told him but forgets when he’s away. Sometimes he remembers moisturiser and sunscreen, but it’s a bit hit and miss
Toothpaste looks like he’s had it for years. All shrivelled, cut open, and squeezed to high hell in order to get every bit out

lets talk skincare⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🎀
disclaimer i am NOT a dermatologist so to create this post i did LOTS of research and i'll link all of my sources at the end of the post. i just wanted to kind of put everything that i found in here so i hope its helpful 💕🗒️
HOW TO DETERMINE UR SKIN TYPE ;
wash ur face with a gentle cleanser, pat dry and wait for about 30 minutes. if ur skin appears shiny throughout then u have oily skin, if ur skin appears tight/flaky then u have dry skin.
if u notice a slight shine on your nose and forehead then you have normal skin. if you have a combination skin type, then the skin will get oily around the t-zone.
INGREDIENTS TO LOOK FOR ;
for skin with acne -> salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur and mandelic acid.
for dry skin -> lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and glycerin.
for pigmented skin -> mandelic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, and arbutin.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD NOT MIX ;
mixing retinol and vitamin C causes irritation, mixing vitamin C and glycolic acid results in over-exfoliation, mixing AHA and retinol causes extreme dryness.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD MIX ;
hyaluronic acid + ceramides = repairing skin barrier. niacinimide + salicylic acid = healing acne. retinol + niacinimide = collagen production.
GLOWY SKIN TIPS ;
use a cleansing balm to cleanse ur face to remove all the impurities from ur skin
use serums to hydrate ur skin
lather on moisturizer, dont put too much to the point where ur skin cannot produce its own oils, but you MUST moisturize
apply sunscreen everyday, not only on ur face but also on ur neck and hands
face masks 1-2x a week
get enough sleep, drink enough water, and steer clear of overly processed foods
SKINCARE DOESNT STOP AT UR CHIN ;
its important to take care of the skin on ur neck for SO many reasons because skincare doesnt stop at ur chin. ur neck reflects the first signs of aging, and its most susceptible to sun damage so show it some love!
use the same products that u use on ur face on ur neck also, moisturize ur neck and always apply sunscreen, lastly, use some retinol to build collagen.
HOW TO APPLY RETINOL ;
when applying retinol, use a pea sized amount. avoid application around ur eyes and the openings in ur nose, and use retinol in ur night skincare routine only.
HOW OFTEN TO USE SKINCARE ;
retinol should be used nightly (1-2x a week for beginners). hyaluronic acid should be used (2x a day). salicylic acid should be used (1-2x a week). sunscreen should be applied daily, no need to apply it at night and if u can, you should reapply it every 2-3 hours. vitamin C (1x a day in the morning).
SERUMS FOR UR SKIN-TYPE ;
for oily skin use -> salicylic acid, niacinimide and mandelic acid.
for dry skin use -> hyaluronic acid, ceramides and lactic acid.
for normal skin use -> vitamin C, glycolic acid, and retinol.
for aging skin use -> peptides, retinol and vitamin C.
for acne prone skin use -> salicylic acid, retinol, and niacinimde.
for combination skin use -> mandelic acid, niacinimide, and glycolic acid.
WHAT TYPE OF FACEMASK IS BEST FOR YOU ;
cream masks are good for all skin-types and it soothes and moisturizes. clay masks are good for oily or acne prone skin and it absorbs oil and controls shine. charcoal masks are good for oily or acne prone skin, and it deep cleanses and unclogs.
sheet masks are good for all skin-types, it nourishes and hydrates. enzyme masks are good for all skin-types and it gently exfoliates and brightens the skin. bubble masks are good for all skin-types and it hydrates and soothes.
gel masks are good for all skin-types and it provides a cooling effect. exfoliating masks are good for all skin-types BUT if u have sensitive skin then exfoliating masks are not for you. exfoliating masks remove dead skin cells and debris.
HOW TO LAYER UR SKINCARE ;
in the morning (cleanser + toner + hydrating serum + vitamin c + moisturizer + sunscreen) in the evening (double cleanse + toner + hydrating serum + retinol + moisturizer)

leo is naturally a really clumy person (me too lmao) so he injures himself on accident quite often when working on something in bunker 9, but one way or another he'll find an excuse to come visit you there (even if he's not hurt) and say shit like
"you come here often?" or "can you kiss it better?"
with a shit-eating grin as you heal one of his injuries
since you're a child of the music god, you have AMAZING taste in music
so every once in a while you'd come over at bunker 9 and play some of your music while leo works on his projects
you'd be on his bed, painting away or even working on poems
speaking of poems!
you once wrote a poem about leo and after building up courage (with the help of your girlfriends) you read it out to leo!!
and let me tell you, that boy turned as red as a tomato
and he couldn't stop thinking about that poem FOR DAYS.

after that, he decided it's time to ask you to be his gf!! (screaming)
him and his friends (percy, jason and frank) have been planning and scheming on the best way leo can ask you out
since percy has a big mouth, he told the news to his girlfriend, annabeth.
your and leo's friends were pretty much one big friend group, so you guys hung out quite often
soon enough, piper and silena found out about leo's plan too
SOO HERE'S HOW I IMAGINE HOW'D LEO WOULD ASK YOU TO BE HIS GF!!
basically, the group decided to hang out at the beach is Montauk
"LAST ONE IN THE SEA IS A ROTTEN EGG!"
percy yelled, all the boys racing to the sea, except for leo.
"boys." annabeth muttered, rolling her eyes, causing piper, silena and you to giggle.
you had your beach towel spread out onto the sand, your tote bag to your left and a book in your hands.
leo sat at your right hand side, applying sunscreen onto his arms and upper body as he watched the boys splash and attempt to drown each other.
"could you please apply sunscreen on my back, y/n?"
you look up from your book you're reading and place your bookmark between the pages. a smile grew on your face as you nod, signaling leo to turn so his back faces you. he obliged and did as you said, he pulled his knees closer to his chest leaned his head onto his arms. (kinda like this I'm bad at explaining haha 😭)
hours pass by, the group has all been at the sea having a splash fight, then also played volleyball. now they wanted to have some snacks and drinks
and of course the group decided to pick you and leo to go get the snacks
you, oblivious to their intentions, started putting your flip flops on. as you weren't looking, leo shot a look at the smirking teenagers he calls his friends. piper and frank were showing thumbs up for support. while jason and percy gave him a knowing look. leo saw annabeth mouthing "now or never" to him.
"lee, you ready to go?"
he put his attention back on to you and nodded, heading to the corner shop with you next to him. he glanced back to his friends one last time, seeing them look at the pair walking off and cheering for leo, but silently of course, so you wouldn't suspect anything.
after you two have bought the snacks and drinks the friendgroup wanted, you head back to the beach.
leo noticed the group playing volleyball again, and used to opportunity to confess now. He stopped walking, standing at this area.
"hey, y/n. could we talk for a sec?"
you didn't think much of it and nodded, walking closer to where leo was standing.
then, his nervousness got the best of him and that boy just started rambling.
"so i just wanted to say that Iive liked you for REALLY long time. like a i like you A LOT and I really want to be together with you but i'm not sure if you feel the same and i really don't want to ruin this friendship. but i've never felt this way about anyone and–"
then he got interrupted with kiss!! (by you of course)
he froze, definitely not expecting that. but quickly kissed you back. his hands on your waist, pulling you closer as your hands wrapped behind his neck.
you soon pulled away, both of you catching your breaths.
"i like you too, leo."
a bright smile appeared on leo's face, him leaning his forehead onto yours.
"can i be your boyfriend, y/n?"
you act like you're thinking about, rubbing your chin jokingly, but ultimately day yes.
he kisses you again, but pulled away quickly as you two heard screaming and cheering from the back.
the pair turn around to see their friendgroup being the cause of this loud noise.
piper, annabeth and silena were the ones screaming, holding each other's hands as they jump up and down like little girls. While the boys were cheering and clapping, Percy even started jumping up and down with the girls. (LMFOAOA DON'T TELL ME HE WOULDN'T DO THAT)

🤍 Jia starts her mornings drinking a cup of water or coffee on an empty stomach, this can help to boost your metabolism and detox your body. I would recommend to drink water rather than coffee, since this could have some negative side effects.
Next step is to say some affirmations in front of the mirror, saying affirmations like 'I look so pretty today' or 'my skin looks so healthy' or simply being kinder to ourselves can ease stress, allow us to face difficulty more courageously, and feel more content and confident!
Now it's time for skincare, Jia emphasizes on having a healthy skincare, for this you will need to create a routine based on your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, normal or acne prone) and your skin concerns (black heads, bumps, irritation, scars, etc.), please make sure to consult a professional before using anything on your face! First detangle your hair using a hairbrush, then hop on the shower and use shampoo, conditioner and a hair mask to treat your hair. Then wash your body using a shower gel and a body scrub. Jia uses a soothing gel, thermal water and a body lotion to moisturize her body after shower, she massages the products on her skin to relax her muscles. After 30 minutes, she dries her hair with cold air. After, you can trim your split ends or take care of your nails if necessary.
As a part of self-care, do chores like doing laundry or washing the dishes so you can start relaxing on a tidy place (you can also light an scented candle). Also, Jia takes her vitamins for her hair and overall health.
Now it's time to enjoy our hobbies! how to reduce acne (and what is acne)
acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. it typically results in whiteheads, blackheads or pimples that can appear on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. acne is most prevalent among teens but can affect people of all ages. several factors contribute to acne, such as excess oil production, buildup of dead skin cells, bacterial growth and inflammation.
acne is not inherently 'bad' but it is a source of discomfort for many people. while acne itself is not a bad thing, it can lead to potential complications if not managed properly, such as scarring or emotional distress.
when reading this post, it is important to remember that everyone's skin is different and what works for one person may not work for another. i'd like to add that i am not a dermatologist, and this post is written with my own experience in mind as well as research online.
reducing acne involves a combination of skincare practices and lifestyle adjustments. here are some recommended actions:
properly wash your face cleanse your face twice daily to remove excess oil, sweat and dirt. some common face washing mistakes include using the wrong cleanser, over-washing your face, under-washing your face, the wrong water temperature and using a dirty washcloth. don't worry if this all seems confusing, here's a post on how to properly wash your face.
know your skin type use products suitable for your skin type only--oily, dry, combination or sensitive. you can find this out by visiting a dermatologist or (alternatively) researching the skin types and seeing which best matches your skin.
moisturise moisturiser curbs dryness, which balances oil production in your face and therefore helps to prevent acne. choose a non-comedogenic moisturiser to not clog your pores.
consider over-the-counter treatments think about acne treatments with ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
stay hydrated drink plenty of water to maintain skin hydration. good hydration helps to maintain skin elasticity, supports the skin's protective functions and prevents sunburn, sensitivity and oiliness. women should drink about 2.7L of fluids every day (including water, other beverages and food).
limit makeup use minimal makeup and ensure that it is non-comedogenic. don't stop wearing makeup if it is something you enjoy, however, try to limit it in acne-strong areas.
don't touch your face this is a big one, and yet so many people do it. keep your hands away from your face to prevent the spread of bacteria. seriously, you use your hands for so much--you don't want the germs of everything you've touched on your face.
limit sun exposure protect your skin with appropriate sunscreen. and remember to re-apply! limiting sun exposure also reduces skin cancer risk. balance is key, though, because the sun is necessary for vitamin d production and maintaining circadian rhythms.
exercise regularly physical activity can help reduce stress, which may contribute to acne.
enjoy a healthy diet eating a well-balanced diet can support skin health. consider reducing dairy and high glycemic foods. a diet with a low glycemic index may help balance hormone levels, which is the same effect when insulin spikes occur less. essential nutrients promote skin health and help to repair and maintain the skin barrier.
invest in stress management find ways to reduce stress, such as journaling or going for a walk. stress can worsen acne. this is because, under stress, the body's healing process slows down, meaning acne can take longer to heal and become more severe. stress hormones can also increase oil production, leading to clogged pores.

Could you please repost the routine you used to clear your skin up?
I did this consistently for a full year and it completely cleared up my cystic acne and made my skin bright.
I melted off all of my makeup with Bioderma Micellar Water. I’d highly recommend it, and it removes stubborn eye and lip makeup very efficiently. Soak cotton pads in your micellar water, let them sit on your face for a moment, and then wipe any makeup and sebum away. If you choose to use micellar water, make sure that it’s unscented and doesn’t have any coloring.
I then wash my face with a gentle cleanser. You don’t want to use anything too oil based or heavy and the idea is that you’re cleansing your face of anything that the micellar water didn’t remove. Don’t use anything too harsh or stripping, avoid heavy chemicals, and make sure you’re not using an alcohol based cleanser.
I use the sandwich method for retinoids, so after I’ve cleansed my face, I apply a very thin layer of moisturizer. To keep things reasonable, Aquaphor, Vanicream, or Nivea are going to be your best bets. I personally prefer Nivea and think it feels the best on my skin, but you can use any cream. I will say that if you multitask, use Aquaphor on your face and lips.
Then you’re going to go in with a pea-sized amount of Tazarotene. Do not use more than a pea-sized amount, and make sure that you spread it evenly. You’re going to do a very thin layer, spread it smoothly, and pat it gently instead of rubbing it. If you’re really looking to get rid of old scars and dark marks, you can spot correct with hydroquinone at the same time. Remember, with medical-grade products, using less at the beginning is always better than overdoing it.
You’re going to finish your face with another thin layer of moisturizer. This final layer is important. If your skin is very oily, you might not need to use the sandwich method, but if it’s dry and you’ve had trouble tolerating chemical products before, I think it’s a good idea. I’m also going to really stress how important it is that you wear sunscreen on a daily basis and that you avoid picking at your face, touching any areas that are peeling, or interrupting the purging process.
After you’re done with your skin, you’re going to protect your lips. Again, if you chose Aquaphor as your moisturizer, go ahead and put some on your lips. I’d recommend exfoliating your lips and then applying an overnight lip mask or a heavy lip balm. For me at least, this is an essential step because Tazarotene does have a tendency to make the area around my lips peel. I’m also going to say that you shouldn’t be using Tazarotene every day; this is a 2/3 times weekly thing (one at the start), and you have to get into a consistent routine and use it for weeks to see real results.
Tazarotene also works well for body acne and keratosis pilaris, you can read the testimonies on Reddit and RS.

It all started with two moisturizers that I've used forever on my face and body. Simple Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Vera Lotion.
The newest bottles looked very different. Upon opening the top, the scent could only be described as " toxic laden chemicals."
Something changed. Drastically.
My body's immediate strong and sensitive reaction was NO.
A new unpronouncible chemical.
The chemical is Phenoxyethanol.
The newest "it" preservative, found in everything from makeup, body lotions, shampoos and conditioners...etc
"Studies show that phenoxyethanol is rapidly absorbed, distributed, metabolised and excreted. It is almost completely absorbed through the skin and is metabolised either by the skin or the liver."
Scary that all the preceeding preservatives are now considered not good. Remember parabens?
In other words, we are basically lab rats and when there are too many coincidences, one chemical is quietly slipped out, only to be replaced by the next newest toxic one.
I read an article recently about those horrible things called facial fillers.
Why anyone would want that in their face, is the first question.
Well, the FDA approved them 20 years ago, as harmless and the best approach to a wrinkle.
But now there is a sudden backpedaling.
" We now understand more about them and the potential negative consequences. This includes the knowledge that they can block lymphatics, and a relatively new discovery that they last far longer than originally thought. We thought fillers would last 6 months. We now know they can stay for years."
Sunscreens aren't harmless either:
"The FDA's clinical trial found that all six active ingredients in the sunscreens they tested were absorbed into the bloodstream, even after a single use. The ingredients can also remain in the body for extended periods of time."
"Studies have shown that many of the common chemical ingredients used in sunscreens are absorbed into the bloodstream at concentrations higher than the FDA's safety threshold."
Please be aware of ingredients. Read the small print of whatever you are placing on your skin, or in your skin. Everything is absorbed, winds up in your bloodstream and from there, your entire body. We are using multiple products constantly and consistently. These chemicals begin to add up, so the 'acceptable amounts' are very much multiplied with frequency and number of products used daily.
Humans are lab rats indeed.

“It’s going to be another hot one out there today folks— topping out at 105 this afternoon. Remember to drink lots of water, stay in the shade, and of course, wear sunscreen!” The opening beats of Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) followed, and you whacked the radio off in annoyance.
You were sick of this summer. Sick of the record-setting heatwave. Sick of the shitty little building you’d found for your coffee shop, which had seemed so cozy in February but turned out to have the world’s lowest-output air conditioner. Sick of sweat staining through your t-shirt as you worked the morning rush.
You were proud of your business, sure. You’d started from nothing and managed to get it off the ground. Now you had a steady clientele that came for their morning coffee but also for your homemade pastries— your pride and joy. But to keep things afloat you worked like a dog. And this summer was killing you.
The flow of customers finally let up for a minute and you sat on your stool, leaning into the breeze from the countertop fan.
You let your eyes flutter closed, dreaming about the ice cold Lone Star you’d have when you finished tonight. You could almost feel the condensation on the can as you pulled it from the fridge, could hear the crack and hiss of it opening…
You just about jumped out of your skin when the front door flew open, chime tinkling.
“Sorry to interrupt. Looks like a well-earned break, sugar.”
The man standing in the doorway was tall, bronze-skinned, with thick dark curls tumbling around his face. His biceps were visible below the sleeves of his gray t-shirt, his thumbs hooked on the belt loops of his jeans as he stared at you. He was smirking, and then— when you met his eyes— he fucking winked at you.
You raised your eyebrow at him. “It was, as a matter of fact. Been at it since 5am. But what can I do for you?”
The man ambled over to the counter, inspecting the chalkboard menu on the wall. “Well, I heard this is the best place in the neighborhood to get a coffee and a little breakfast. And I’m going to need both to start my day.”
He ordered an iced latte, double shot, and one of your cinnamon buns. You set to work preparing them, only too aware of his eyes on you as you moved behind the counter. You got a lot of flirts in here, men looking for a little ego boost on their way to work, and for the most part you didn’t mind—as long as they don’t take it too far.
There are times, though, when it’s not just about not minding.
Times when you decidedly enjoy the attention.
And this would be one of those, because this man is fucking gorgeous.
You feel your hips swaying more than usual, and you wish you’d worn something more alluring than jeans and an old t-shirt. At least this pair of jeans does a good job of highlighting your ass, especially now that the denim is clinging to your sweaty skin.
“So is this a summer job, or do you work here year round?”
“Honey, I don’t work here. I’m the co-owner,” you reply, whipping around to set his drink down in front of him. You were vaguely aware of the door chime tinkling as another customer walked in, but at that moment you only had eyes for this one.
The man let out a low whistle. “A business owner and a beauty? Color me impressed.” He leaned forward against the counter, looking around at the pastry case, the neat racks of cups, the espresso machine. From this distance you could appreciate his freckles, like a dusting of brown sugar over his sculpted face. “You know, I’m in business myself.”
“That so?”
He held out a hand to you and broke into a wide smile. It was dazzling. “Tommy Miller, of Miller Construction.”
You were about to shake hands with the beautiful Tommy Miller when you were both interrupted. The customer you’d been ignoring had materialized at his side, and smacked him— hard— on the arm.
“Tommy, quit your bullshit!”
“Jesus, Joel, I’m in the middle of somethin’ here!”
You watched with interest as the two turned to face each other. The second man— Joel, apparently— was about his same height, but looked a little broader through the shoulders and a little older. He had a strong jaw, painted dark with stubble, and an impressive mustache.
Jesus Christ, it was hot enough in here already.
“You’re in the middle of wastin’ precious time, is what you are,” Joel scoffed, before turning to you. “I’m sorry about my brother, ma’am. He thinks he’s god’s gift to the ladies.”
You laughed, looking from one man to the other. You could appreciate similarities now— the dark curls, the strong but trim bodies, the deep eyes you could get lost in.
“And you should know,” Joel added, “It is Miller Construction, but I am the sole proprietor. Tommy here works for me.” Then he held out a hand across the counter, with a close-lipped smile that was less flashy than Tommy’s but no less devastating. “Joel Miller. Of Miller Construction.”
Tommy glared daggers at his brother as you reached across to shake. Joel’s big hand swallowed yours, his grip firm and warm. You felt something electric go down your spine, the hairs standing up on your arms.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Joel,” you said, looking into his rich brown eyes. Then you turned, and held out your hand again. “And it’s a pleasure to meet you, too, Tommy.”
Tommy’s hand was smaller than Joel’s by just a hair, but it was softer, too. You looked at Tommy as you shook, but out of the corner of your eye you could still see Joel— watching you touching Tommy.
The dampness you were feeling between your legs— it wasn’t just sweat anymore.
It was mid-afternoon and the cafe had started to feel like the ninth circle of hell. There weren’t many customers after lunch, so you used that time to work on baking for the next morning. The problem was the ovens, which put out way more heat than your crappy little AC could counter. You had about 30 minutes left before you could pack it in for the day, but you thought you might just spontaneously combust if you stayed inside.
So you grabbed a paperback and a cold coke from the drink case, and went outside. Your place was on the corner of a little strip mall in South Austin, and it bordered on a gravel lot with food trucks and picnic tables. Everything was closed up this time of day, but that was all the better to have a quiet moment to yourself.
The sun was fucking brutal, but you sat in the shade of a live oak, and you could feel a little breeze lifting the hairs on the back of your neck.
You looked around at the sun-baked street, watching people come and go. Mostly in cars in this heat, but some brave souls were walking or on bikes. Next door, a work crew was taking a break from the building frame they’d been erecting. You watched the men downing gatorades and wetting bandanas to tie around their necks. Now that was a tough job on a summer day.
Then you noticed something.
Off to the side was a makeshift table, papers spread across a piece of plywood balanced on two saw horses. Two broad figures stood beside it, looking down.
Joel and Tommy.
This was goddamn Miller Construction.
You knew you shouldn’t spy, but you couldn’t help watching. The brothers looked deep in conversation— Joel with his arms folded across his chest, Tommy with his head tilted to one side. Tommy pointed to something; Joel nodded, and then pulled a pencil out from behind his ear to note something down. Tommy said something else and Joel shook his head, tapped his finger on one of the papers emphatically.
Both men, taken separately, were impressive items. But when they were together, Christ almighty. There was something magical in their practiced ease, their good-natured jockeying for dominance. You couldn’t pick just one to admire.
You heard your oven timer go off inside the cafe, and you reluctantly peeled your eyes away from Miller Construction to head back inside. You hummed along with the radio as you checked on your croissants, suddenly a lot less annoyed by the interminable summer. With their building site right next door, you ought to be seeing a lot more of the Miller brothers. You were going to make the most of it.

summer’s coming back with a vengeance so i’m going through my sunny collection, and wanted to make a little hommage. 🥹 sunscreen is so important! especially here in australia, thanks to our skin-cancer rates. all of these are chemical sunscreens for face-wear (NOT reef safe!!), and most of them are made in australia—i’m still trying to find a decent mineral/zinc sunny that doesn’t white-wash me or otherwise have some kind of tint that’s off-colour. i use the INCI decoder site just to check for greeblies—tbh most of these have like, an eyebrow raising chemical or two but. 💀 nothing’s burnt off my face yet, so if there’s longer term side-affects ig i’ll report back in ten years or so LOL. the beauty of joseon rice + probiotics SPF 50+ has the best ingredient list of all them, so that would be my universal recommendation!! 🧴🌞 i’ve been using the avène sunsitive sunscreen serum SPF 50+ daily since i bought it—it’s fun!! it doesn’t water my eyes. i just finished the cancer council face day wear serum—it was my previous fave before the avène. the ultra violette queen screen SPF 50+ has just been restocked—i have an older bottle. i liked it enough! it did sting my eyes, though, but it smelt like roses. 🥹 i’m not sure if the new formula is the same, but my bottle very noticeably has a fine sheen of shimmer in it, which is ehhh. it’s also the only sunscreen on this list that would get chunks in it. 💀 i haven’t tried out the natio rosewater moisture balance day cream SPF 50+—i literally just bought it a couple of days ago, because it was on sale at the chemist. 🥹

𝟔𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫'𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞…
and bum! in a blink of an eye… bye bye 2024, hello 2025! cant believe i'll be putting my christmas decorations back on in a couple of days!
now that time of the year starts when we feel the need to accomplish all the goals we have ignored for the 305 days, and as in every year we end up overwhelmed and disappointed! But all this happens for lack of organization and planning… here i came to give you a few tips to close 2024 with that good feeling of work done!
𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 -
gym/workout - i guess it is a canon event on everyone's lives having as goal: starting gym. Every year is the same thing, empty promises and if you're reading this; this year was nothing different. But you still have time, THOUGH no crazy diets or crazy workout routines, they'll just give you a fast burnout!
So why not start gym or working out 3 times per week? Or maybe pilates every morning? Yoga? There are unlimited options to move your body, you just need to find the perfect for you!
daily shower - never thought i had to say that but… SHOWER DAILY! please, please, please!
the shower trinity - exfoliate, shave, moisturize! exactly on this order ONCE per WEEK!
skincare - we all want a shining skin for the holidays makeups, what better than skincare? but keep it basic! no need of fancy products (unless they work good for you)! the essencial: sunscreen! no matter if isn't sunny, sunscreen is THE product that never MUST be out of your skincare routine!
facial massage - using gua sha or ur own hands, there are some videos on yt! and no, that shit isn't just a lie tiktok invented!
everything shower - once per week give yourself a princess day (mine is every sunday), do your nails, wash your hair, do face masks, exfoliate, shave… everything! usually i do all this on my sunday reset!
𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 -
journaling - putting your feelings out instead of keeping them in until the moment they blow up is the best thing you can do for your mental health! take a moment for yourself, take a breath and start to write all your thoughts, no filters! it can be in your notes app, your diary, a paper you'll burn later… but you owe this to yourself!
find a new hobbie - never too late to find a new passion, you can go trying all of your options until you find the one you most feel comfortable in doing! maybe cooking? or painting?
reading - this one could fit into the category above but i decide to put it apart. If you're like me and made a huge goal of books you wanted to read and haven't even touched a book this year… i feel you! You still have time to start your journey as a reader… maybe 10 minutes per day? Or bolder 5 books until christmas?
meditation - i confess i wasn't going to add it cuz i'm not very fan of it… but i know it is a goal a lot of people have! You can find some good meditation videos on yt or you can simply take a calm moment to take deep breaths and just enjoy forgetting your worries!
law of assumption - i know some people don't believe in it but i couldn't let it out of this list so fuck it! this shit change lives! i recommend SO MUCH for you to do some research about the theme, just stay away from the loa community on tiktok! here on tumblr there is the #loablr
have a to do list - end of the year can be very overwhelming for a lot of factors but mainly cuz you feel there's so much to do but so short time! a to do list can help you to keep track of the most important events (so you won't miss anything) and also give you that feeling of organization!
go on walks - adding this to my mental section cuz i think it fits well here! go on walks either alone or if you have a pet take them with you, walk around the block or go to a square! put your headphones on and enjoy the vibes, it's autumn, maybe the leaves are already orange where you live, weather is colder… romanticize it! evermore season after all lol
girls, for today that's it!! that's all the steps i thought for a good end of year though i might do a second post near december talking about the same thing but in a more reflection way! like goals and feelings!

Hygiene tips in case no one ever told you;
If you sweat a lot or work out a lot when you shower do a base wash of your body with PanOxyl. It kills bacteria and stops acne it also stops body Odor.
If you’re prone to acne on your body and want to use a scrub. Use an acne facial scrub on your body.
Turmeric soap gets rid of hyperpigmentation and dark spots on your body. Glomelanin makes the best ones.
If you get acne on your back or body invest in a scrub brush and wash your hair first with your face , facing the shower stream upside down.
Wash your face twice a day. Keep it simple, keep it effective for your skin concerns and wear sunscreen.
Make sure you’re taking your makeup off at the end of the day before washing your face.
Use a THICK coco or shea butter based lotion like Nivea
Anti bacterial base wash, body scrub, unscented bar soap on sensitive areas, scented body wash.
On damp skin body oil, then lotion. Use lotion everyday
If you shave scrub before you shave and use a men’s razor and a shave butter or foam.
Always double shampoo your hair, condition your ends, oil the ends of your hair daily.
Clean your ears everyday and clean behind them. Clean between your toes and your belly button.
If you’re a bigger person, be mindful of cleaning your crevices.
