N is always right no matter what.

They would love an s/o like that! Of course, it is a fine line to balance. Its s/o can't be mindlessly agreeing with everything it says. That would feel insincere and become predictable. On the flip side, their partner can't be a contrarian; that would get on their nerves. One would have to be loyal because of their own justifications.
For example: BEN wants you to cut someone off.
You cut that person off because: You didn't like them, you were hardly talking, or another reason.
The reason for your actions does not solely rely on the fact BEN said so, (fearing it + the consequences of ignoring it). Your actions are because of your own beliefs and logic. Push back is welcomed, as long BEN doesn't feel genuinely threatened. While the whole "downbad s/o" is nice in the aspect of control; it's also a saftey defense. It lessens the likelyhood of something bad happening to them when there is a clear motive.

Portfolio advice, from a lead who hires Concept Artists
(This was originally a twitter thread I wrote before the site self imolated, hense it's strange structure.) I wrote this after a weekend of portfolio reviews - 1. Like a maths exam, please please show your working. I want to see thumbs options, mid options and of course a final design.

2. Arrange your portfolio, I don't want to bounce about between subject matter and pipeline. Your portfolio's narrative should be as strong as your work... 3. Please make worlds that excite the viewer, make them want to go in and explore them, explain to them the interesting parts of the town, or the way the character's hat unfolds. How will this draw the viewer in? 4. As I've said before the majority of your project work is explanatory not mood, make sure your portfolio contains explanatory work. Explained here -

5. A lot of beautiful post apocolyptic paintings, , but 80% of realistic games and film, we just give the environment artists photo ref, they are capable artists in their own right. Different work in stylised where you do need to create rules for how things can be translated. 6. Production art contains call out sheets, material references and flat graphics. This doesn't have to be your final image, but it should support it.

7. Design characters on a swatch(es) of the environment they will be viewed in. Not on white. I make swatch backgrounds from screenshots, it avoids assumptions that damage readability. 8. Reverse of this, put people in your environments, show me the scale.
9. It's not a deal breaker for a review, but if you intend to get a job, please show me your work on a screen larger than a smartphone (print outs probably the cheapest option with the best battery life). 10. Please have your contact details clearly visible, and by that I mean email address, I will not pass your social media contact on, I cannot input your form into my tracking system. EMAIL ADDRESS emblazoned and bake it in, sometimes recruiters do funky stuff to pdfs
11. Your portfolio will never feel done, not to you anyway. You will have learnt from your latest pieces and want to apply it to older work. But we know art is a journey. Send your portfolio anyway. I've been in the industry 10+ years and my portfolio is still not 'finished'. 12. If you are applying to an environment centric Concept Art position then please vary your times of day! Golden hour is cool but show me some happy sunny days, looming overcast days, what about at night? Vary your weather too! Sunny snowy day? Rainy Spring day? Stormy night?
13. If you are applying for a character centric Concept Art role then please ensure your portfolio shows a variety of body types and ethnicities. 14. Designing characters for games? Please show back views and feet (!) Many potfolios contain only front views. This is a problem because:
You haven't shown you are considering the design from all angles.
In many games rear view is the main view.
Stop cropping feet.
15. If you are entry / graduating and looking at Portfolios to compare content and standard of yr own work too, look at hired grad/junior artists as opposed to seniors Seniors and leads often have old or personal work in their portfolio which isnt representative of the day job. 16a. Show clearly the intended use case for your Concept Art. Mention the game type in the description. Are these player character designs for a 3rd person adventure game? Then more back views please. Bonus points for diagetic ways of showing health / equipment / role etc.
16b. Are these designs for an FPS? Then really the player view of the gun needs to sell the player style/ choices, in an FPS your weapons are almost your character. Are these world designs? What's the view distance? For an RTS your shapes need to read from above & a distance. 16c. The lack of clarification means I am judging the design in isolation, which both harms the design (you might be considering the backview of a char as the main adventure character.) Or an NPC, their waist up expressions may be important for conveying exposition and mechanics.
16d. Concept art is not separate from gameplay, great concept art serves the game team before it is a good illustration.
17. Play games. A variety of games. Think about them. IMO to be a good concept artist you need to understand the common language & references used by your peers. Also understand the principles and common language your audience are used to. FPS design rules are v.diff from RTS.
18. There are many skills that are needed in concept art, please show them. For example: Graphic design - logos, liveries, typographic use etc. VFX concepts - Abilities, Ambience, motion concepts. Architectural knowledge - How buildings are built! & more but I'm out of space :O

hihihi!! some of you may remember the interest check poll i made a few weeks ago. now that were getting closer to the holidays, its time to finally put this out.
(i encourage you to read through everything before signing up!)
what is secret santa? how does it work?
to summarize… each participant will receive the name of another participant, and be tasked with creating a gift for them. the catch is that the gift, and who its for, is intended to be a secret until the gift is given.
for this event specifically, i will be hosting it through a discord server to give me easier access / communication with all participants.
important dates
NOV 20 -> sign ups are closed! no more participants past this date will be allowed in
NOV 21 - NOV 22 -> gifts and participants will be distributed
NOV 23 -> buffer day. an extra day added for me to go through and make sure there werent any errors or changes needed to be made to the randomized assignments
DEC 15 -> progress check-in! (no actual progress required to be shown)
DEC 25 - JAN 1 -> posting week! gifts are revealed and given.
rules + extra notes
all gifts should be kept pg! be extremely mindful of what you include in your gift. additionally, sensitive topics / imagery should be limited to be safe
while i have no actual control over your actions, i encourage people not to spoil their gifts early. its more fun as a surprise!
ocs / aus are allowed to be worked with so long as there are ref sheets + enough information for your santa to work off of
joining the server is required for participation, to make things easier for me to work with.
should go without saying, but- the gifts you create are required to be your own original work. stolen or AI generated gifts are not permitted

Hello friends, I am, in fact, still alive. Therefore, AU Narilamb be upon ye this day :D
I've recently been kind of contemplating my AU Narilamb post partnership ritual, so, for reference, this is supposed to be a few... decades, maybe, after that point?? Maybe 30 to 50 years or so, or longer, idk.... I don't have an exact number but it's occurred to me that I wanna let these two be... ya know, happy and stuff. So this is them comfortably living their lives and being happy. And I've also been thinking about how they'd change, both kind of visually and internally?? Like, I've been thinking about Lambert growing out their wool and like, actively spending time getting their mental health into a better place, and learning to actually view themself in a leadership role (since they are. Ya know. Running their cult and stuff) as opposed to resenting their title. They still, I imagine, are fighting their ascension and trying to stay grounded, but they take more responsibility for making sure everything functions and everyone is safe and such. Narinder, I imagine, has become completely content in his life. He gets to spend time with Lambert daily and he's both physically and mentally in a better place than he was when he arrived, his fur gets longer and fluffier and better taken care of, and he's just generally like, eating better, staying hydrated, managing his back and neck pain better. He's happy to be Lambert's closest advisor and assist in the running of the cult, but he's equally happy to just lay around in the sun. I also think I'm getting the vibe that one day, these two would become so close that being in a room together is just as comfortable, if not more comfortable, as being alone. But idk. Just thinkin.
One of these days I'll sit down and make actual ref sheets for this future-segment of the AU... maybe. Not that it was ever organized / had an intentional plot behind it in the first place. But I've spent the last couple days itching to doodle them just existing comfortably in a space together so I finally did. Funny how this worked out with the timing and the color palette, since it's a couple days before Valentines day and this is a particularly pink doodle. But I digress.

As the clocked clicked closer to the time I needed to leave, the more anxious I got. This would be the first time in Barca colours and the first time on a game sheet in three and a half years.  
Keira had picked me up and taken me to the stadium, she wanted to make sure I didn’t ’run away’, the vibes in the locker room were amazing. Everyone singing and dancing, after a while they started to stop. The music got turned down and everyone started their pre game rituals. I did not have any. Never really did to be honest. I was ready after 5 minutes and decided to just watch everyone else. 
I’m not exactly sure when things started to get overwhelming, but they did. Slowly but surely my breathing increased, my heart rate too. Next was the sweaty hands and the leg bouncing. Jona had come in for the pre game talk, followed by Irene and Alexia. I tried to listen, but I couldn’t. 
“Amelia? Are you ok?” Looking up I realised everyone had left, expect for me and AMC. 
“Hmm? Oh yeah no I’m fine thanks Ana! Just taking it all in you know. I’ll meet you out there?” 
The thought of walking out there and warming up was really making me panic. So many people, so many cameras, so many questions. 
“Mil! Hey mil look at me. Focus on my breathing. You’re okay.” Alexia. 
“I- I can’t do t-this ale. I can’t.” 
“You can Mil. You belong out there. You belong on this team. You’re the best mil. Trust what I am saying.” 
It look a bit but my breathing slowly calmed down. The tears on my face were dry but my eyes were puffy, a tell tale sign I was crying. I was already exhausted and I hadn’t even stepped foot on the pitch yet. This was going to be a long day. 
“Okay, let’s go.” 
As Alexia and I walked out, the crowd cheered. Most likely for their Reina but I could hear a few people yelling out my name. She gave my arm a squeeze before we separated and started warming up. 
Before I know it, it’s time to start. I go to the bench with the rest of the bench players and the starters go into the tunnel. As they all line up, Kei sends me a smile and a wink. 
The game starts slowly, Sociedad flood their defence with players so getting a shot off is difficult. In the 13th minute Lucy sends a cross in the finds the head of Alexia and lands in the back of the net. By half time, Alexia has a hat trick, Salma has a brace and Caro has scored too. It’s 6-0 going into the break. 
True to his word, Jona subs me in at the 60th minute mark, taking Salma off. As I run into position, Keira stops me. 
“Show them how great you are.”
That was all I needed. Playing with my best mate was surreal. I felt guilty for being so happy but I wouldn’t let everyone see that. It took a few minutes to get settled into the game but once I was, it was like I never stopped. With Alexia, Keira and Aitana in the mid field, the ball was continually fed through on a silver platter. The first opportunity to score was when the Sociedad goalie had dropped the ball, it bounced away from her and I was able to capitalise. The ball hit the back of the net and the girls surrounded me. 
A few minutes before the end of the game, I was running down the left wing, Alexia slightly in front and Keira directly beside me, a dirty tackle from a Sociedad player sent me flying. One set of cleats went straight into my ankle, the other on my calf. It fucking hurt, trying to bury my face into the grass to get myself to calm down, I hear Lucy and Keira running up. Right as they get to me the Real Sociedad player screams at me. 
“It’s your fault she’s dead. Remember that. You did this.” That’s when all hell breaks loose. Before the words settle in my brain, Keira shoves her over, the player is quick to get back up, shoving Keira, then Lucy rugby tackles her to the ground. Suddenly all 21 players are fighting, the refs are doing the best they can, Irene and Marta are trying to pull Lucy up. 
“For fuck sake that’s ENOUGH.” My voice is hoarse from the silent tears. 
I gently pushed the physios off me, wincing slightly as I put pressure on it. 
“Are you calling the game?” I asked the main ref. 
“No”
“Okay, can we get on with it then?” A large amount of cards were given out. Lucy, Keira, Claudia, Patri, AMC, Mapi, Ingrid and Alexia all received one, as did 7 of the Sociedad players. What a debut. 
After 5 minutes the game ended. I left the field, not bothering to shake hands or talk to the managers. The words playing over and over in my mind. Was it my fault? Am I the reason Emily was dead? Who the fuck is that player? Breathing got harder and harder, my vision became blurry and I could feel my heart beating, it was almost painful. I needed to get out of here, to go home. 
This was all a mistake. 
I tried to hurry to pack my things up, but the blurry vision from my tears was making it difficult. I could hear loud yelling and cleats on the ground making their way to me. I knew who it would be and I didn’t want anyone to see me like this. It was all too much. 
“Mil. Mil! Amelia stop!” It wasn’t until Keira’s hand was holding my arm that I stopped. I needed to leave. 
“Get out.” No one moved, waiting in horror. “Everyone get OUT!” Alexia’s captain voice sounded through the locker room then suddenly everyone was out. It was just the three of us. 
“Talk to me Milly.”
“Did I - did I get her killed? Was it because of me that she’s dead?” 
“What! No! Amelia listen to me, none of it was your fault. What happened to Emily and to you, was not your fault. Do you understand me?” 
All I could do was nod my head. “Can I help you shower? Then I’ll take you back to mine okay?” 
“Okay” 
Keira lead me to the showers, making sure to grab my toiletries and a towel. Slowly she helped take off my clothes, asking along the way for each item. As she got to my shirt, she asked again, I nodded and squeezed my eyes shut. Only Alexia had seen the scars. I could hear her breathing hitch and sniffling. She was crying. She didn’t say anything and neither did I. After helping to wash my hair, she left me to do my body by myself. 
“Is she ok?” Irene asked, the team was slowly making their way back in. 
“No. If you could just wait a minute before you shower. She doesn’t want anyone to see her scars.” They all nodded in understanding. Not once had they seen me change, always going into the stalls. The scars were my biggest insecurity. 
“She shouldn’t be alone tonight” 
“She won’t be Ale. I will take her to mine and she’ll stay with me for a bit.” 
I was exhausted. I couldn’t stand any longer and with a thud, I landed on the floor, my Shampoo and conditioner went crashing. This caused Keira and Alexia to run in. Keira worked fast, turning off the water and helping me up, wrapping a towel around me. Alexia stood there, frozen. Eyes stuck on the scars that littered my torso. Keira looked at me, fresh tears running down my face, then back at alexia. 
“Ale, I know you want to stay but you need to get out” Keira spoke so incredibly softly to her. It was hurting them both to see me like this. I knew that but I couldn’t stop it. After she dried and dressed me, she ushered me through the locker room. Not stopping to talk to anyone or grab our bags. 
The car driving lulled me to sleep. The subtle vibration and warmth was all I needed. Kei woke me up when we got to her apartment and helped me out of the car. She held me right the entire way up, almost as if she was scared I’d break or run away. She guided me through to her room, putting me straight under the covers and climbing in the other side. She held me as I cried, whispering sweet words into my ear, after a while I fell asleep. I wouldn’t wake until morning.

Idk just some studies I did at school with no refs whatsoever so a few may be slightly anatomically incorrect.
(Take into account that this is only my opinion, draw however you want. These are only observations. And I did minimal research due to this being a small side project mainly done at school, so if you would like a more detailed explanation of this [I can definitely rant more in detail on this lol] or you think something is wrong please do notify me!) (I also know this has been done before but eh)
Ok, so over all my years of seeing digitigrade legs on bipeds, I have wondered countless times of how some could keep themselves upright without being very uncomfortable…
Here is the most common one that I see that is quite confusing for me:

I… really don’t get how this could be effective. Even with stronger tendons and musculature, they would always be tensed, and therefore the organism would get tired quite quickly due to the constant strain. I assume walking would be quite difficult as well.
Here are a few more variations of confusing digi-legs that I see:

(out of all of them I think I] would be the best, although still not really efficient). as for number two… please. No. Poor leg T-T.
Ok, so. Time to provide ideas for alternatives… but first of all, we must understand the structure of a digitigrade leg:

(Human-dog comparison) As seen in this drawing, digitigrade, like its name suggests, means that only the digits of the foot touch the ground in a regular stance.
A human is plantigrade creature, meaning that they walk on the sole of their foot, with their heel touching the ground. In short, all of the foot.
Surely most of you already know that though, so I don’t think I need to explain any further on that part (unless you want me to. As in like, why.)
Ok- now onto alternatives. with a digitigrade leg slightly modified for an upright biped, I present you with this:

minimal strain is ensured by this more upright leg design. As you can observe, I also use this straighter version with my own semi-bipedal original genus.

Ok… apart from this, here are two more speculative builds:
I] Velociraptor-esque build/stance

II] Ostrich/bird-esque build

I assume this could be a very speedy design. The digits would also be very mildly elevated, but not enough to be unguligrade. (I drew it slightly too long in the drawing though) uaaa I am too tired to write a description separate from the stuff written in the drawing but I wanted to post this today goddamnit.

Stellar the Hedgehog Analysis
Just got home from watching the third Sonic movie, and since it focuses so much on Sonic and Shadow's relationship, I thought it'd be the best time to do something I've wanted to do for a while - drop an incredibly long post about my thoughts on @emthimofnight's Sonadow fankid, Stellar the Hedgehog.

A lot of the time, Sonic OCs have been passed off as "cringe", due to the unfortunately well-known ones, but the actual community is full of some of the most dedicated lore-makers and designers I've ever seen, and I'm not even someone who knows Sonic that well! I've done a fair bit of research on the series, but I've never played the main games for myself. I just stumbled onto Stellar while I was mindlessly scrolling, and as I checked out all the posts regarding her, I realised I'd found one of the most intricate, passionate fan creations I'd ever seen, and she's been living rent-free in my head ever since.
Now, for the meat of this post: My analytical thoughts on her. Let's break it down into categories:
Design and Personality:
I'm no expert on character design, I've barely even tried to do it myself (outside of my over-designed Miitopia OCs), but Stellar is absolutely striking. Her fur colour is a clever blend of Sonic's blue and Shadow's black, a dark blue resembling space, with a splash of red thrown in to add to the Shadow of it all. She has stripes as well, but as opposed to Shadow's slashing shapes, hers are more bendy, twisting into the form of a star. Inhibitor rings are strapped to her sneakers, a very poetic combination of her dads' getups, but she's also got her knee and elbow guards, a little touch of her own that links in with her fighting style, and also represents the constant protection around her which I'll get to later.
She's extremely star-coded, from the name to the space colour to the fur markings, and I think that was the perfect direction to go. Stars feel ethereal, but entirely grounded at the same time, a cosmic entity we can look towards at any point. Stellar is much the same, she contains an absolutely incredible power, taking after two previous incredible powers, but her personality is so warm and cheerful, and her very existence is what brings Sonic and Shadow together.
And that's the other point I want to make in this category. Stellar actually has three older siblings who died before they were born (I'll get to that), and they're essentially a sliding scale of Shadow's genes to Sonic's genes. Void is almost entirely Shadow, Andromeda has a bit more Sonic, Polarity is more Sonic than Shadow, and Stellar herself is the only true balance. That's a good word to describe what she represents, balance. Sonic's kindness combined with Shadow's anger, Sonic's showboating combined with Shadow's self-confidence, with her own bubbliness and grace added on top. Everything about her design, just like her role in the "SonDADow AU", simply clicks together.
Background Lore:
As someone unfamiliar with the history of the Sonic fandom, I'm not sure how common the "Sonadow fankid made in a lab" trope is. I know Stellar was not the first, and it'd be unreasonable to assume she was - but I'm willing to bet that Emthim has the very best exploration of the concept.
The failed siblings, for a start. That's a dark turn to take off the bat, the idea that Project: STELLAR has been attempted so many times, and still hasn't been shut down because these people are so desperate to put more insane power out into the world, but it really does set the tone for what's going on here. Stellar, just like Shadow, isn't being viewed as a genuine lifeform despite her title, she and all her siblings were a piece in the puzzle for a bunch of self-absorbed scientists trying to recreate a project that was inhumane from the start. Shadow is frequently pictured as struggling to cope with the knowledge of this project, and of the failed siblings, as it'd very obviously strike a lot of nerves. Sonic reminds him to move forward, though. Just like he always has.
That's another incredible aspect of all of this - Sonic and Shadow being forced to parent together despite being not-very-close-friends before this point. The little interactions displaying their bickering about how much influence each of them have had on their daughter, and constantly fumbling on taking care of her because all three of them have overpowering abilities that completely change how they go about their lives, give so much life to the relationship depicted between them all. Stellar is never outright told about her origin, because Sonic and Shadow want to keep her out of that life, and that level of protection being shown both warms the heart, and fills it with a sense of dread for when she'll find out, because it's (realistically) not a perfect strategy. This all adds so much to the idea that they were haphazardly thrown together by the circumstances of Stellar's very existence, and the duo of hedgehogs are just trying to make do.
Stellar as a sort of "dark star", in her ultimate form or Villain AU, is a concept that really ties it all together. She originated from an evil cause, something that only exists to cause unparalleled destruction, and yet her good will and sense of justice shines through no matter what. You can tie aspects of the same theme to both of her parents, but it's wholly concentrated in her story.
Powers and Abilities:
She's a figure-skater. That's pretty much the whole reason this category exists, I really want to break that down for a second.
The duality of ice skating is one-to-one with the duality of Stellar, in my eyes. It's a graceful, beautiful, typically feminine activity, but it's incredibly easy to cause damage with those blades, and strike the sickest poses on your foes. Stellar has a clearly-defined soft side to her, she's very sweet to the people she cares about, and has that all-encompassing energy only a child of Sonic could possess, but just as much as that, she will rip and tear through someone at a moment's notice if they piss her off, she's got that impulsiveness to her, and we all know she's got the power to back it up. She can be either of these things at any moment, the artistic blade always has an edge to it, and the contrast is no contradiction - She simply is all of her.
On top of that, I want to talk more about the dark/collapsing star form. The idea that she possesses such capacity for destruction, which could take her over from the inside out, that would leave her loved ones desperately reaching out to find that shining star - it has not left my mind since I first saw it. It's one of the most compelling narrative devices anywhere in this AU, there's so much potential in a character like Stellar, making an impact wherever she moves, becoming shrouded in the colossal darkness that still plagues her life no matter what she does. As for the specific piece that drew me into this form so much? I'll link it in the final category.

The first image in the set is the one I was just referencing, but I'd be retreading ground by talking about it, so I'll focus more on their relationship in general.
I love how it's so "mutual pining childhood friends"-coded, while also straying a decent bit away from the common tropes. Only Camellia has the feelings bouncing around her head like a DVD logo every moment of her life, because Stellar doesn't actually comprehend it at all, despite feeling much the same. True to her nature, she's so focused on building positive relationships with people that she doesn't recognise some of the intricacies of what the relationship is truly like, or what she truly feels herself. She's at her softest around Camellia, due to their long-lasting affection, but she's also at her fiercest when she gets protective. Camellia brings out every aspect of her personality in a way no-one else does... and certainly not a dishonest rival.
Rocket is my absolute favourite addition to the Camellar dynamic because he throws such a gigantic wrench in everything. His relationship with Stellar has none of the safety that Camellia's does, he's all about the thrill of it, feeding into the inexplicable attraction without thought of whether it'll hurt in the end or not. Initially, this is all one-sided on Stellar's side, eventually becoming one-sided on Rocket's, and either way, it brings about a vindictiveness in Camellia she usually isn't prone to, because just as much as Stellar is looking out for her, she's looking out for Stellar - in a variety of ways. She wants what's best for her, but she's also throughly convinced that it won't be anyone other than herself, and she's also right, especially since Rocket's such a prick at the end of the day.
The truth is, the reason Sonic and Shadow work is that they can keep up with each other. Both of their life stories are about becoming as free of a spirit as they can be, tossing aside everything thrown in their path to become confident in themselves and what they stand for. Stellar and Camellia are much the same. From an aesthetics and basic dynamic standpoint, there's more comparisons to draw between them and Sonamy, but in that case, it's entire game's worth of miscommunication and problem avoidance. In the case of Camellar, they're significantly more head-on with everything, they're both incredibly blunt about their affection, it's just that the romance aspect is lost in translation on Stellar's side. Not like that's the part that really matters, it's the mere unbreakable bond. The one that gets a princess desperately reaching out through a collapsing star for its heart. The one that gets a shining star to settle down for a moment.

This post definitely didn't cover everything. So much about Stellar is whirring around my brain at any given moment, I have no idea how I'd manage to jot it all down in a comprehensible and complete format, but this is what I've got. A post that hopefully shows just how deep my appreciation for Emthim's work goes, and how talented of a creator I believe her to be. Thank you for reading.

finally got around to making my girl a better ref sheet! this is my rdr2 oc mallory! she’s a 24 year old aspiring doctor that resides in valentine with her aunt and uncle, assisting her uncle in his work as the local doctor. her horse, poppy, is an overo american paint that was gifted to her by her uncle. (more about her under the cut! be warned i am no writer so it might suck 😭)
mallory spent most of her early life growing up in the state capital of lemoyne, saint denis, with her mother, father and two older brothers. being born into high-society came with expectations, these expectations being, more often than not, challenged by mallory much to her mother’s dismay. after refusing an arranged marriage, which left her relationship with her parents strained, mallory set off at the age of 18; moving to the muddy, livestock town of valentine in new hanover to live with her aunt and uncle, chasing her dream of becoming a doctor.
this is where she meets kieran duffy, an odd fellow that caught her eye from the moment he stumbled into the doctors office, bloody and bruised. upon noticing his green scarf, it didn’t take long for her to realize he was running with the o’driscoll boys to which she upturned her nose.
“that’s a nice horse.. she yours?” he gestured to the american paint tethered to the post out front of the doctors office as she tended to a particularly nasty laceration on his cheek. “mhmm,” she hummed in response, not all too interested in engaging in small talk. he, however, did not seem to take the hint, “she looks just like you.”
as the weeks rolled by, kieran became a frequent sight, either passing through the office due to o’driscoll business or looking to have another wound tended to. mallory couldn’t help but find herself warming to the man, charmed by his gentle nature and intrigued by his involvement with such a ruthless gang that he so clearly didn’t belong in.
much of her relationship with kieran is pre-canon, taking place before chapter 1. she has no canon ties otherwise, though she does reunite with kieran a few days prior to his death in chapter 4. she bumps into him on a busy street in saint denis while visiting her family. she has to do a double take, making sure she hadn’t been imagining things, but quickly pulls him into a hug upon realization.
she all but begs him to meet her by the docks a couple evenings later, to which he agrees to, though he never shows.
she later moves to new york, attending college in medical studies.

Hi hi!! I had a purely curious question/thought for you
I know the OCs that you post are the ones that you voice act, but I was wondering if you had any other OCs that you don’t post?
sure! i got lots. i've been drawing and writing about my ocs my entire life, my audio ocs aren't only ocs nor are they the only ocs i draw or write about. if anyone's interested in my other ocs, all my ocs are on my toyhouse page and i have more than just my audio ocs on art fight. and some of them have pages on my fanworks museum because i have talked about them in my discord, on stream, have some up in art fight, all my ocs are on toyhouse, and i've posted about some on my sfw blog before. if i ever make nsft content with them it'd go on here, and there are some non-audio ocs i have that i'm considering voicing someday.
here's a handful of my non-audio ocs:
barnaby and o-554 (aka 'oscar'). what if a vampire and an 80s pc that became sentient fell in love? i made them last year just before art fight because i really love hal900 and had recently found out about edgar from electric dreams and i wanted to have my own ocs with a robot x human romance but more specifically a robot that has a non-human body. and with barnaby being a vampire, they both get to be immortal. i'm so happy how many people on art fight instantly drew them.

masque (aka my monster boy band). a group of ocs i'm still working on (got two members of the band left to finish designing) that i've talked about here before as i want to make audios with all of them. a visual kei inspired rock band but all the members are based on classical gothic literature monsters.

bongle and spade. so i was messing around on aidn.jp/wowa while live on twitch and was showing chat how it worked and drew a random cat anthro as an example. chat liked the silly doodle, i asked for names for him and green_fogg named him bongle, and oops he became an entire oc. spade is a random guy i doodled when doing warm up sketches based on loveletterworm's character idea generator and after i made bongle i thought 'wouldn't it be funny it they were in the same world and bongle annoyed spade and also they've fucked'.

mori. my beloved baby. if you've ever popped in on stream, i have a picture of an ikea alien plush on my overlay. that's mori. i have him irl, he arrived on a sad day for me, and he's been one of my best pals since. and i wanted to draw silly images of him for my website but my brain said 'make him an oc' and then this happened a couple weeks ago.

I'd looove to hear a little about your worldbuilding process if you don't mind sharing. How do you go about it? I know you have shared in a few posts already but just wanna know moree. Also where did it all begin? What inspired you? (eating it all uppp!!!)
hi!! I know I wrote a big long thing like last year or the year before about the process to making a setting but I cannot be arsed to find it rn so here's some disconnected thoughts
Overall I don't really make Headworlds or Worldbuilding Projects the way a lot of people do (which is why u keep hearing me say 'setting' over and over) because mainly what I make are stories in the order of characters -> plot -> world. those three things have to serve one another in that order of importance, so the world itself bends to serve the narrative. for example, ultimately idgaf where the holy beasts' skeletons come from, that is not important because the beasts are basically just a big plot device to serve the story. i can make some post-hoc justifications for their existence (and i did) but at the end of the day it will not and does not matter how they work or where they come from. the world is full of mysteries that will never be solved because the characters are not in a position to solve them. aside from a single border conflict, the world outside the mezian empire is nebulous and unimportant.
I don't enjoy working in a world -> narrative order because what I want to produce isn't just a series of info posts or artpieces about a setting, but a closed and self-contained story which is the justification for the entire world's existence. Headworlds that are all world and no character don't interest me.
So basically in the process of worldbuilding, I have to serve the story. A while back I made a post about continental history around Inver, all these wars and occupations and schisms and so on. All of those exist solely to provide a particular political climate, justification for Aquitan's theocratic structure, and the spread of the southern church north into Inver. I already had the idea of this church, that it would be integral to the country as a main political faction, so now I have to figure out how it got there and the political ramifications of that. It's all worldbuilding for sure, but it's a support structure underneath the story about how that church eventually changes world history, because i wanted to write a story about a church lol.
I guess if I wanted to explain The Process for a world -> characters setting i'd just be giving you How To Write A Story 101 lol. But basically: I think of a concept which interests me (big mechs yay). Then I think of a conflict that might arise (where does the fuel come from? who controls that supply? what might that do to the concentration of power in this area?). Then I put a character in what I consider to be the most interesting position to observe the effects of this conflict (a knight, an enginesmith, an exile), and honestly the main plot generally writes itself after that. I extrapolate the hook from that.
In terms of characters, I try to avoid calling them 'ocs' because in my mind 'oc' tends to be a very static stand-alone thing. Like I couldn't make a useful ref sheet of my characters because they are all changed by the story. I couldn't say 'he has a carefree personality' because in a few chapters no he fucking won't. in the same way i struggle a LOT to talk about my Siren setting which as close to a specbio 'headworld' as i'm ever gonna get, because I am worldbuilding in vastly different time periods at once in a world which is always changing, i can't make a post about for example a map of Siren because that's just a map from one era, I'd need to make a dozen maps to show how things change, how time affects it all, etc.

Because nothing is ever static and everything is in flux, pretty much the only way I can handle a setting like this is, again, just to focus on a few small stories centered around a cast of characters separated by time (i have... 4 distinct stories in Siren. maybe more). this is actually a frustrating barrier to me sharing any information at all about this place lol i'm the struggler
Where did it all begin? When I was 11 I used to write stories in my copybooks in class. There has never been a time where I was not making stories and where my stories were not the only important thing at all to me, superseding literally everything else. I learned how to draw digitally in 2011 because I wanted to draw my characters.
What inspires me? Everything lol. I actually don't have time to Consume Media much, I struggle watching movies or tv and I mostly hate video games because I would much rather be productive and sitting and watching a screen feels like a waste of my time. but I like reading books because I can take them with me on my phone. I get ideas from all sources but mostly non-media sources, like obviously mythology but also my history with the church and my scientific education. Usually nonfictional sources interest me the most (i was going to write a whole story that was a post-apocalyptic plague plot based on canine transmissible venereal cancer haha and even to this day that's where "the Immortal Hound" title comes from, little easter egg in inver)
