i feel like this applies to all clarisse pairings, but specifically athena pairings with clarisse

athena kids are not afraid to speak their mind, or tell others how they feel, or tell others how idiotic they're being

clarisse may be intimidating and scary, and nobody would ever say anything to her face, but people definitely say pretty mean things behind her back

granted, clarisse is a bit of a bully, but you know her under all that, and you do discourage her from her bullying

you know that it gets worse and more common when she's feeling stressed or anxious about something, so instead of running at her yelling, you try and find the root of the problem

you've seen how clarisse reacts when she accidentally overhears someone saying something mean about her

she looks akin to a balloon deflating, and you hate that

you just love her so much, you always want her to be happy no matter what

so there have been many times when you've stomped up to someone and given them a piece of their mind for talking shit behind people's backs

sometimes you add in something about how clarisse is one of the best people you've ever met, and that they should reevaluate their thoughts on her

you also occasionally add in (depending on the person) how they shouldn't be judging given their personality and how they treat others at camp

it always means to much to clarisse whenever you do this, because she's never had anyone to stand up for her before

she's never had anyone in her corner, and it means so much to her that you are

when she told you this, you practically burst into tears before pulling her into a tight embrace, telling her that you'll always be in her corner no matter what, and that you'll always be there for her

she then told you that she'd always be there to protect you, no matter what

you pulled away then and told her that the both of you will always protect each other, and clarisse almost cried when you said that

she's never experienced this all-encompassing and being-consuming type of love, and she isn't hating it, that's for sure

at the end of the day, you and clarisse are in love, and that's all that matters

yes, you have your ups and downs

you have your arguments

but what else can you expect? neither ares nor athena are really known for backing down, and you both got that stubborn trait from your godly parents

the two of you have no doubts that you'll be together forever and ever

honestly, if clarisse wasn't such a scary individual, your relationship would be a little bit gross

i have a question, if that's okay...

i want to find community, but every attempt i make kinda ends with me drifting off and never really feeling like i belong. i want to belong but i always end up feeling like i'm on the outside and never really feel like i have a place inside. like i always find myself massively independent and honestly a little lonely. and... idk... do you have any advice? what do you mean by learning how to be loved by a community?

i felt like an outsider for the majority of my life. i was 29 when i started to transition and even though i had friends and groups of friends before then, i also felt like most of those people were never really able to know the real me.

i was always hiding a part of myself because i was afraid of being trans. i was always afraid of being authentic because i was afraid of what people would think of me.

because i was afraid of authenticity, i was also afraid of vulnerability. and because i was afraid of vulnerability, i would keep people at an arms length.

the most important thing that i needed to learn before i could be loved by the people around me was how to know and love myself. it’s been a little over four years now since ive started my transition and i am finally in a place where i know who i am and i am not afraid to share myself authentically.

there will be times that people just don’t like me (and trust me there are fuckloads lol) but i also know that’s okay! they were never gonna be the kind of people who would have wanted to be in community with me anyways and there will be other people that do.

there will be times when i get hurt because i let someone in. and that’s okay! it sucks but also i know i can move past it because my world isnt defined by the people around me.

if you’ve felt alienated by community before, i think it’s worth asking yourself, were you able to be both authentic and vulnerable as you built those relationships?

and if the answer is no, that’s okay! connecting with people is hard, and learning how to be vulnerable takes practice and requires working on yourself.

and if the answer is yes, then all i can say is keep trying. those relationships were not the ones you were looking for, and somewhere out there, there are people looking for you.

- HES A UNICORN HE SHOULD HAVE A UNI HORN PLEAADEEE 😭😭😭 they should be a similar shape to Lucifer’s but one short one and should be able to summon a longer one below where the star diamond is on his forehead is when he gets pissed enough and both should be black with green tips + it would actually make him look more vicious too

- I appreciate them making the little bow look like ribs but I think it would be much cooler if his ribs just were sticking out and wrapping around his body and they were black and green

- Ribs should also have patches of fur resembling flames where they start (near his back or at his sides)

- I also think his tail should have short rugged fur lining the outside and it should get longer at the tip; I’m going heavy on the beast agenda I fear. He may clean up pretty well in his human form but he can’t hide his sin in his demon form cmon now y’all

- Since we don’t see his markings I’m making shit up and I think his markings should be fur lining his back and arms

- Just wanna say I resemble the fur wrap thing because it kinda resembles a horse tail/mane and the gray shirt bc it resembles a rhino (What unicorns in the bible were based on I think)

- A bit insecure about you seeing his demon form tbh. Thinks he will scare you and a little afraid he might do sth he’ll regret if he loses himself; he sees himself as beastly in that form, anger is a hideous emotion and he doesn’t want to scare his loved ones away like he used to when he was first born and always lashed out with full force, scaring his brothers (Don’t get me wrong if he’s angry he’ll show it but he wont let all of his anger out at least not at once and if he has to do sth drastic he’ll first isolate himself)

- Very nearsighted but refuses to get glasses and only wears them when reading (glasses are weakness)

- Bulks up a bit and gains more strength in his demon form frs

- Snarls when hes angry and sometimes sneezes in the middle of his anger often (it would be funny)

- Pact mark is only visible on your temple but internally spans throughout your veins and is not very big but grows the angrier you get post activation; that shit is freaky it can even cover your whole face and put your body in autopilot (like how anger issues people black out) if you get angry enough

- It’s pretty wicked its first shaped like a small spade but bulges like flesh; is similar to tanjiro’s mark somewhat

- Pact mark allows him to enhance your rage by giving you some of his own (can be a pro or con depending on the situation but i mean u can just tell him to stop iykyk policy)

Asmodeus: The Scorpion

- I THINK HE SHOULD BE VAMPIRIC Feeds on sexual energy and life force yk incubus/succubus thingz but he should have the fangies too imo

- Tired of them having collars and looking prim and proper so I’ve arbitrarily decided that his shirt should conjoin with his skin and become kind of like calcharos ult for VERY loose reference; hes the avatar of lust he can be shirtless ish

- IK I SAID NTM ON THE CLOTHES BUT UGHHH Imagine if he was wearing like a robe similar to aphrodite bc its like a nod to his past as a high angel but also how he’s steeped in desire and lust. Like its being held up by the roses, sheer will and the fact that it is conjoined with his skin

- Hc that he is like cupid and can see connections between people SO I think his spine should be lined with like. Arrow-like spines

- Despite being like cupid, he finds it really hard to genuinely connect people and find someone who enjoys his presence beyond his looks and will typically avoid people on his recharge days (he likes partying and being around people but its also pretty draining keeping people entertained which is why he usually brings someone with him. I also imagine this is how he and Levi connect “I guess we aren’t so different after all” type shi)

- He should have a tail. I thought about it for a while and like. ???? Scorpions tails are like their whole thing I think he should either have a tail or towards the bottom of his spines one of them is long enough to resemble a tail (his wings are cool but like he should have a. Tail)

- Tail/spines should have venom

- I think his markings should be connected, like the hearts are good but they should be connected in like a segmented line and wrap around his arm; preferably 7 to represent the scorpions seven chamber heart

- He needs glasses too and he only wears them when they go with his outfit otherwise its contacts (which he also introduced satan to)

- He should have more eyes on his face smaller eyes below his main two that only appear when open (otherwise his face looks normal just with slight slits you’d only notice if u were REALLY staring)

- Very tolerant to weather changes. He still acts like he’s dying but he def doesn’t have it as bad as Levi who is literally dying over there

- Pact mark is a tramp stamp and he won’t stop asking to see it gn. Its shaped like a hollowed heart with a design inside and becomes a spade with a similar design when activated as well as spreads a bit (as all the others do) its very classy and pretty tbh

- Activation is almost like. Erotic? It feels good but its almost like it steals the air from your lungs and makes your chest tighten; its a mix of pleasure and panic (not quite pain because it gives you urgency but not so much that it makes you want to stop) Unfortunately this isn’t something that really wears off but rather wears down and just becomes leas intense as you get used to it/stronger

- Pact mark allows him to shapeshift into you and anyone who you have had a sexual or romantic encounter with

Beelzebub: The Fly

- MOUTHS ALL OVER: A mouth on his forhead where his horn comes out of and the markings spread across his body can open, revealing mouths (def gotta have some on his hands I fear. Can also change the locations of his markings and can consume things such as magical energy through his mouths

- Should be able to create a third horn in the middle of his forehead to make his horns appear like a crown (Lord of the flies had a teeny lil crown its a bit funny)

- Should have more fur aspects like his wings should have fur at the base and around the outline maybe

- His markings should be furry and the fur makes it look like they’re black flames 🔥

- Should have four wings that appear like two until he gets ready for takeoff, to which they spread out real wide

- Ik he’s a really simple guy so his design is simple too but I think he’s just missing some of that demonic flair. He should have insect arms that he can control (they might look like sticks but they’re actually very strong and useful)

- Always wants to be around you. Always. Even though he moves insanely fast he always loops back around to match your pace

- A bit colorblind and nearsighted but is fast enough to make up for it

- Almost never gets sick but he’s usually the one who brings sickness in the house so his brothers have to make sure he cleans off before coming in 😭 (I imagine demons don’t get sick in the traditional way but its typically some behavioral or magical illness like a common cold for suc/incubi causing like them to be less efficient in seducing humans; like how asmo has his power with his eyes maybe his vision gets blurry for a few months/years or it makes HIM fall for the person he was trying to seduce)

- Lucifer has had to ban him from the kitchen because he kept eating food that already went bad especially if he was sleepwalking

- Can make a protein shake/smoothie out of anything !!!! No matter how erm. Odd the combination

- Always rubs his hands together and licks his lips before eating a meal

- I would like to propose….. him being in charge of the Devildom air force like how Levi is in the navy…. Ik ik came outta nowhere but Flies having those big ass eyes gave me the idea to out goggles on him that look like Fly eyes and then I was like ok well what if that was for when he’s flying and here we are

- OK STAY WITH ME NOW. He used to do the equivalent of illegal drag racing but flying and Belphie would always bet on him and thats how they made food money for Beel sometimes until Lucifer shut the whole thing down after finding out bc its a bad look for Diavolo he also doesn’t want his baby brother getting hurt but he wont say that (Belphie thought he was a killjoy)

- To him. It feels like wherever he goes death and despair follow and has gotten stronger and stronger so that no one close to him will ever die again (“I should’ve been strong enough so that the safest place for her would be by my side” -Marius von Hagen [he makes me so emotional]) (If you’re wondering how this is related its because flies symbolize triumph over adversity as well as death and decay)

- Pact mark is right on top of your stomach (above the bellybutton) and it looks like two triskelions (three wheeled spiral) stacked over each other to create six wheels as a reference to his prior angelhood but as well as a nod to his transformation

- Activation costs you a lot of energy and it feels like you’re starving like you haven’t eaten all day even if you just ate a hearty meal (you go back to normal a bit after activation but its a little maddening while its taking place)

- He can possess your body for a limited amount of time (typically only accidentally triggers this power) during this time any damage that his body takes transfers to you and vice versa (tbh this is much more risky for him than you bc his body is extremely strong so he’ll only take minimal damage but it’s a gamble with you)

- He can also steal some of the nutrients from your body so um. I’d be careful of that (he won’t ever actually do it but now that your bodies are connected he can)

Belphegor: The Cattle

- STOP SHOWING HIS FUXKINH EYE BEHIND HIS EMO HAIR/ sorry had to get that off my chest. It coulddd be something that could make him more eerie and off putting like a demon but his whole thing is that he looks cute and sweet but is actually intelligent and dangerous so maybe just. It shows in his demon form only if anything

- He should have a bell on his tail. It would be kewt. Not something he inherently has but he wags his tail in his sleep often so the brothers put it on him so they don’t trip over him (he hates it but he’s too tired to gaf)

- He should be more fuzzy too like having his right arm have an arm warmer rather than that sleeve that doesn’t even look connected like. Also theres a mix of fuzz and thorns on his person. It’s a gamble. Proceed with caution.

- His boots should be more like hooves kinda like what I said for satan but boots and more comfy looking

- They were way too shy with his cow spots imo. I think it should almost look like he has vitiligo (but with more melanin rather than less yk)

- HE SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE EARRING THAT LOOKS LIKE THE CATTLE TAG

- Got a nose piercing (septum I think?) after learning about piercings in the human world but doesn’t use it much anymore

- Nitpicky but I think his horns should end while sticking forward rather than curling out all the way to resemble a bull thats ready to charge

- Appreciating the fact that he has four belts likely to represent the four chambers of cows’ stomachs

- Separation anxiety victim NUMBER ONE. Especially after Lilith died he’s gotten so anxious being without his loved ones and never really wants to leave their sides bc he never knows when they’ll be gone

- He is Beel’s eyes and probably has the best vision in the family tbh 25/20 vision fr

- A lil colorblind though; affects his drawings and when levi asks him to doodle with him he always uses a unique set of colors (hes grabbing at them randomly)

- Likes to just watch his brothers socialize and be with them. An observer in his own home. The only reason he gets out of bed everyday is to see the people he cares about most

- Likes silly little puzzles, games and toys like rubix cubes and bouncy balls n shi but gets annoyed if you just give it to him and expect him to play by himself like !!!!! Keep him company !!!!!!!!!

- When he was trapped in the attic Lucifer would sometimes bring him enrichment toys and fill him in on current news or just sit there in silence to keep him company while turned away from him (If he looks at him too long he might fold and let him out; he loves his brother but. He thinks this is what needs to be done)

- Pact mark is on your thigh probably snug on the inside and whenever he’s laying on your lap he looks at it and maybe traces it before drifting off

- It probably looks like a symbol of a moon or spiral inside of a sun representing the midnight sun and the neutrality of the sloth sin (a sun that never rises or sets)

- Can sap your energy and make you see hallucinations or make you want to sleep; can probably put you in hibernation as long as it doesn’t hurt you and can eat your nightmares # dreamcatcher

Solarpunk and the Third Place

Let's talk about third places. It is a topic that has been brought up in a lot of Solarpunk and leftwing places have brought up during the last few months. Andrewism has made a video on it for example. And given that during the last few weeks I actually made a lot of use of third places, I thought I also could talk a bit more about it.

See, I have spoken about this: Due to my roommate just being very hard to live with right now, I kinda fled my home. (Which yes, is due to her mental health, but that does not make it any better for me.) And basically I just looked into: Where the hell could I spend my time?

And then I remembered the thing that I did throughout my youth: Hang out at gaming stores and, well, play games. I did that a lot for so long, given it is often a place for nerds to gather. And yeah, what can I say? It still works.

Heck, I found even someone who plays Digimon Cards with me.

But of course we do know - again it has been discussed a lot - that in recent times a lot of third places have either been erased, or the way we live have stopped the third places to work the way they used to work like this.

Let's quickly go over what a third place is: A third place is a place where you can hang out and get to know people. A place distinct from the place you live and the place you work in (or school, for students). Stuff like a park, a café, a library... things like that. Places that encourage you to interact with new people and start conversations.

Recently those places have been destroyed a lot. Partly because a lot of them have become hard to afford (especially on a regular basis), partly because they have become shut down, and partly because our culture actually does no longer encourage interacting with strangers.

And, I mean. Yeah. Parks are counted among third places, but honestly, I cannot remember that I actually interacted with a stranger in a park. If a stranger talks to me, I am afraid they are a creep. And if I see someone I think I could get along with, I do not dare to talk to them.

The fact that most of us run around glued to our electric devices (I am counting myself there as well) does not help this fact, right? If I am sitting in a café, I am usually working on my laptop, which will make it less likely that folks interact with me. And, of course, my autistic self will also not do that in turn.

Solarpunk both as a genre and a vision for the future is very much build around the idea of community and working together as a community. And for that we need third places in Solarpunk futures. Places that are easily accessible and that people can just go to to talk to people.

But more than that, Solarpunk also needs a society and social rules that actually allow for folks to interact with each other, talk to each other and ask each other for help and stuff.

Sure, there also need to be safe and silent spaces for people with needs like that (including autistic folks like me). And really... Frankly, I would not know how to talk with someone outside a nerd context, lol.

Been reading my in-laws are obsessed with me and I think it's one of my all-time favourites.

I was afraid that Therdeo, the ML, was gonna turn out like all those other annoying Duke of North MLs but was pleasantly surprised with his overall character because while he does have the stereotypical characteristics and messes up quite a lot, it feels different. It feels more like an actual traumatized man fumbling to understand his feelings and make them clear while avoiding misunderstandings (and failing miserably for quite a while).

Pereshati, the FL, is literally so well-written and amazing. Her anxieties and paranoia made the whole time travel situation feel so much more real. Like if someone time travelled in real life, especially within such a short period of time, they would have their doubts. They would think that it was just an overly vivid dream or deja vu and Pereshati does just that. She doubts herself for so long until she gets concrete proof (pun fully intended lol) and even then struggles with her overall situation. Everything about her feels human and she's so well written.

The way their relationship develops is slow and frustrating at times but it's really amazing and seeing their romance slowly bloom from a relationship that was initially transactional in nature is honestly heartwarming.

Not to mention how beautiful the art for the webtoon is. The artist manages to convey emotions and struggles using facial expressions and body language so well it's truly amazing.

Highly recommend this webtoon, it's well-written and sweet and the plot is really intriguing. Watching Pereshati connect the dots and begin to get a clearer picture of everything that is happening is really great.

Anyways, I've been playing around with picrew for the last few days so I made one for Pereshati using this image maker and I think it looks really pretty!

I did the best that I could with the tools available lol but I think it looks kinda pretty. I wish I could add her golden eyes though, they're honestly beautiful. Eh, whatever.

Anyways, despite the horrendous title, this story is honestly amazing and well-written and wish people talked about it more. Highly recommended lol.

praying for the teens and pre teens who think hazbin is *the* show for queer rep or progressive in any matter. it scares me immensely. not only the blatant fetishism and sex negativity and whatnot, but the fact people are being taught that labels *don't mean anything* and that they can do whatever they want (with a character).

yeah, "i gave my characters labels but fuck those labels ship whatever you want" is SURELY a great sentiment to leave behind. surely nobody would erase or discriminate against labels and identity, right? surely people WOULDN'T repsect labels and identities, right?*COUGH* *COUGH*

Hmm... I wish I had better advice to give you on this front, but honestly, the only thing I can tell you is to consider the perspective of your female characters.

Women are people. They have thoughts and feelings of their own, so like... just let them have their own arcs. A lot of the worst misogyny in WC comes from the way that the writers just don't care about their girls (or, in the case of tall shadow, actually get undermined and forced to rewrite entire chapters), so they're not curious about their lives, or WHY they feel the way they do or what they want, or any direction for their character arcs.

Turtle Tail as an example. She'll often just end up feeling whatever Gray Wing's plot demands. She's gotta leave when Storm dumps him to make him feel lonely. She shows up again to love him in the next book. Lets her best friend Bumble get dragged back to Tom the Wifebeater, but is sad enough about her death to be "unreasonably angry" with Clear Sky, and then calms down and accept Gray Wing is right all along.

And then she dies, so he can have his very own fridge wife.

In this way, Turtle Tail's just being used to tell Gray Wing's story. They're not interested in why she would turn on Bumble, or god forbid any lingering negative feelings for how she didn't help her, or even resentment towards Clear Sky for killing her or Gray Wing for jumping to his defense. She isn't really going through her own character arc.

She does have personality traits of her own, don't misunderstand my criticism, but as a character she revolves around Gray Wing.

So, zoom out every now and then, and just ask yourself; "Whose story is being told by what I wrote? Do my female characters have goals, wants, and agency, or are they just supporting men? How do their choices impact the narrative?"

But that's already kinda assuming that you already have characters like Turtle Tail who DO have personalities and potential of their own. Here's some super simple and practical advice that helped me;

Tally the genders in your cast. How many are boys, how many are girls, how many are others?

And take stock of how many of those characters are just in the supporting cast, and compare that to the amount you have in the main cast.

If you have a significant imbalance, ESPECIALLY in the main cast, fire the Woman Beam.

It's a really simple trick to just write a male character, and then change its gender while keeping it the same. I promise women are really not fundamentally different from men lmao. You can consider how your in-universe gender roles affect them later, if you'd like, but when you're just starting to wean yourself off a "boy bias" this trick works like a charm.

Also you're not allowed to change the body type of any girl you Woman Beam because I said so. PLEASE allow your girls to have muscles, or be fat, or be old, or have lots of scars. Do NOT do what a cowardly Triple A studio does, where the women all have the same cute or sexy face and curvy body while they're standing next to dwarves, robots, and a gorilla.

Anyway, you get better at just making characters girls to begin with as time goes on and you practice it. It's really not as big of a deal as your brain might think it is.

Take a legitimate interest in female characters and try not to disproportionately hit them with parental/romance plots as opposed to the male cast, and you'll be fine. Don't think of them as "SPECIAL WOMEN CHARACTERS" just make a character and then let her be a girl, occasionally checking your tally and doing some critical thinking about their use in the story.

(Also remember I'm not a professional or anything, I'm just trying to give advice)

Hey at least he can stop telling himself it's because you wanted to get away from him-

He just nods and brings his attention back to the snakes

I have a feeling he's one of those guys that pretends he's not afraid of them but is lowkey terrified

You have to convince him that their completely chill and okay as long as you don't give them a chance to suffocate you

As in don't let them wrap around his neck

And for the love of the allmother do not let him convince himself he can tame them or get them to be his bestie, it will not go well

So for a while I just recommend watching whatever interaction he has with them

If you don't have names for them, he will give them names

But it'll be the most random yet cute ones ever

He can take care of them whenever he has the time, and you need to go somewhere

As you continued on, you eventually look towards Leander, but your words are cut off as you catch sight of what looks to be...him putting tiny hats on your snakes?

"Leander, what are you doing?"

After setting the thing down, he comes towards you, grabbing your hand so he can lead you towards them. "I just..wanted to see which one suited who the best."

Nodding as he says that your gaze drifts back toward the scaly creature, analyzing its new appearance. But once you notice the hat, you can't help but laugh. "Is that a tiny wizard hat?"

"Don't look at me like, it complements the silver in his skin."

Just walks in and kinda acts as if it's normal?

"Huh, didn't know you were one for pets sparrow."

Goes up to one of the snakes and just...pats it on the head?

Ais one day brings Princess over don't ask how he manage to get her through the city to play with your danger noodles

Princess and you are a little confused on how it's supposed to work but eventually she gets the hang of it :3

Kinda just....runs around them while they whip around trying to keep their eyes on her

For you and Ais it's like watching your kids have a play date

If he's ever doing anything important, he has at least one of them nearby so they can look over his shoulder so they can watch

You ask him why because there's a good chance of them, not caring

But he just smiles and says "Wouldn't want 'em to not feel included."

After waking up from a much-needed nap, you walk towards the room where you kept the enclosers for your snakes, you know that Ais will be visiting, so you won't have to worry too much about them being neglected, as at some points it felt like they were more of his pets than yours.

But you didn't expect to see Ais sitting on the floor, all five of your precious pets surrounding them as they held their heads up in curiosity. Him using one of his fingers to slowly caress the tops of them.

"Having fun there?" You said while leaning against the doorframe.

He turns around, looking up at you with an almost smug gaze. "Thought they could use the company."

You send an equally playful smile and walk up next to him. "How long have you been here, by the way?"

"Long enough that I snatched some of your leftovers."

"...You ate my food?-"

That's the best way to describe his reaction to everything

Although he's mostly curious about how you're managing to take care of five giant pythons, given their diets in all

Definitely asked if can study them a bit, even though he's idk how many centuries old and most likely knows a lot about animals

But they are your pets so I guess it feels different

Offers to watch them whenever you can't, so he can observe them a little more

Whenever you come back home you just see him quietly writing things down while glancing at the snakes every few seconds

Once he finally looks up and spots you, he smiles and asks how the journey was

Although he is a doctor, he will do his best to keep up with the health of the precious ones

For you, of course <3

But that also means if there's ever a problem he's the one you turn too

So imagine having a carry a 100-200 pound reptile all the way to the clinic

Not only that but if you had a coin for every odd stare you got you could probably but another snake

Once you do eventually reach Kuras, he does take your concern seriously but if ends up just being a minor issue, don’t judge him if he chuckles a bit

“MC, he isn’t sick, I’m afraid he was just trying to mess with you.”

Oopsie

At least once a week he would bring one of them with him to chill at the clinic, it’s very cute to watch

He’ll be taking care of a patient while the little thing is resting in the background on a branch he bought from somewhere

And as time goes on, it becomes less of my pets and more of our pets

Walking in, your greeted with the sight of what looked to be Kuras sitting on the couch, reading, but what really caught you off guard was one of your pythons leaning over his shoulder, as if they were following along with whatever he was looking at.

The sight alone was enough to warm your heart.

Kuras eventually notices you, looking up from his book and softly smiling. “I was wondering where you had been.”

You nod, taking a seat next to him and gently rubbing the top of your pets head. “I suppose you were entertaining them in my stead?”

He laughs. “They all were well behaved enough, nothing out of the ordinary.”

Humming in response, you lean over to peak at the book, wondering what was so interesting about it that it caught a snakes attention. But before you could even start reading, Kuras spoke up again.

“Although, you might want to worry about finding more enclosures. I caught two of them mating in the tree.”

VERE

You know those cartoon villains that always have some kind of animal companion by their side? Yeah that’s Vere

Upon walking in, Vere's attention is automatically drawn towards them

Walking over and crouching down so he can have a better look

"Oh my, dangerous little darlings, aren't you?"

The only one out of the group to call dangerous animals cute in any way

I, unfortunately, can relate but that's not what we're talking about here

You just stand there and watch as he gently scratches underneath the chins of the reptiles, cooing at them as he does

Honestly it could be one of the few times you see him genuinely smile

Yes, you keep staring because you want to make sure you never forget this moment, why wouldn't you?

Will absolutely take care of them whenever you can't

In fact, he's the first one to volunteer

Except this time when you come home, he's laying down on his back, all five of them surrounding him in what only could be described as an odd cuddle pile

How he got them into that position without risking himself being suffocated, no one will ever know

But that's pretty much what you expect now whenever he's over

Even whenever you're not there, he still finds a way into your house

He keeps getting in because he stole the key

"Oh I wasn't expecting you to get home so early. ^_^" He says as he's currently putting different scarfs on the python

Please try to talk him out of this but he WILL attempt to teach them to suffocate and only harm the ones he dislikes

Yes that includes Leander-

If you try to stop him he'll smirk and tell you to let him have his fun

All in all an okay snake dad

You watched as Vere held one of your snakes in his hands, its head resting on his palm as he leans in close, cooing as he always did.

"Such a beautiful one you are, the perfect mix of viciousness and elegance." He continues as he caresses the tops of their head.

At a certain point, you think he cares more about them than you. And honestly, you wouldn't be surprised if he did. This was Vere we're talking about.

Looking back up at you, his grin widens, as he gently sets them down and stands up from his seat.

"Oh, come now, don't tell me your getting jealous."

You huff and walk past him, picking up your pet to move them back into their enclosure. "You wouldn't know."

Vere lets out a halfhearted laugh, before sitting back down and watching you take care of the little ones he's grow oh so fond of.

MHIN

In all honesty, wouldn't react as much as you think they would

I mean, they would be surprised, but not enough to raise any bells

They would mostly be questioning if you are actually able to care for all of them properly, given that Burmese pythons can have a fairly big appetite

Although most of their knowledge is in anatomy, they're willing to learn more about reptiles if it means giving you advice about caring for them

Definitely not also because it will be an excuse to talk to you

They toss you a kind of food for them and say, "I saw this somewhere in one of those books, thought you could learn from it."

Meany

Not the type to jump at the chance to volunteer to care for them, or really want to for that matter

No hard feelings just with everything else going on in their life they don't really think they'll have time for it

But that doesn't mean they abandon the idea altogether

If your gone for a long period, then they stop by every once in a while, to check on them, and feed them if needed

One time you came back unexpectedly early and you watched them move around with one of the snakes as if they were mimicking each other

Once they realized you had come back, they pretend as if nothing just happened, but they know, and you know that you saw the whole thing

Will still deny it to this day though

On the occasion whenever they pass by, they would hang out near the enclosures, never asking you to take them out but I guess just, preferring to stay close by

They'll never admit they enjoy them as much as they enjoyed cats

Watching closely, you look as Mhin softly drags one of their hands down the scaly body of your yellow-white python. Even if they didn't know it themselves, you were beginning to think that they had a favorite.

Although they were silent, you could see the calmness in their expression, how their eyes were softened instead of glaring, how their lips shaped into an almost invisible smile. It was rare seeing Mhin happy, even if it was barely noticeable. But it was enough for you to be as silent as possible, not wanting to ruin the moment for them.

But unfortunately, you were dealing with a hunter, so the truth was they had sensed you long before you even walked in.

"Are you going to just keep standing there or what?" You look unsettling."

You jump, not realizing their eyes had been set on you despite not even facing the same direction.

"Sorry, I didn't want to interrupt."

Their content gaze quickly fell to their usual scowl. "Their your damn pet, you wouldn't be interrupting anything."

Guess they did have a nice side.

OKAY, FROM THE TOP BECAUSE I HAVE THOUGHTS! (And yes, I know a lot of this is simply “because it adds to the gameplay”, but I will still adapt my headcanons accordingly, that’s why they’re headcanons.)

1. Finally, the holy grail, the door to Aesop Sharp’s chambers. 

2. This man is very... reduced in his decor. Minimalistic. There are no unnecessary embellishments aside from the odd picture here and there, but I honestly think those came with the room and weren’t things Aesop brought with him when he took up his post as teacher. Instead, you can find a myriad of potion ingredients, flasks, cauldrons and research notes, showing how dedicated he is to find a cure for his injury (and to mark his students’ exams probably). Everything he owns serves a specific purpose. He also seems to enjoy the odd drink here and there, if the non-descript bottles next to his armchair and footstool in front of the fire are anything to go by. If you like it dark, imagine those are potions against pain (but looking at the sizes of those bottles I honestly doubt it).

3. This is basically just an easter egg that I wanted to mention; if you Glacius the fireplace in his first room, you can crawl through and follow some stairs to a hidden room filled to the brim with concept art of the castle. Because of this, some people headcanon that Aesop is a great artist. While that is a cute thought and you do you, I disagree. Firstly, he’d keep his art in his room, easily accessible. He doesn’t shy away from other people’s opinions, he would have no need to hide his hobby. Secondly, a child already has to crawl through the fireplace, a grown up man with a stiff leg, probably has quite the hard time accomplishing the same. And don’t get me started on the winding stairs afterwards. It just doesn’t add up.

4. We always see him limping through the castle, but he does own a walking cane. I assume he’s either to proud to use it in front of students and staff members alike, or he only needs it if he’s walking for longer periods of time. Though, considering how many fricking STAIRS there are in Hogwarts and what a hassle it is to get to your own bed EVERY DAY, I’d say it’s pride. He might also have bad days where his leg might bother him more.

5. Not only is there a walking cane in his quarters, there’s also a wheelchair. Maybe he needed it while his injury was still fresh. Maybe St. Mungo’s provided him with it when he was released. Maybe it’s for the *really* bad days... or maybe it’s a reminder for him to hurry up with his research because he is living (and moving) on borrowed time.

6. Speaking of research, this note you can find in his room is interesting not only because of what’s written in it, but because of the state it’s in. It’s been folded and unfolded numerous times, there are stains, there are tears, you can literally imagine what this piece of paper might feel like. It’s impossible to get a papercut from this already softened material. This note has been handled, stuffed in pockets, examined and studied countless of times and it’s still around. Does that mean his research is stagnating? Are the ingredients difficult to come by? The signs of wear feel like a contrast to what’s written. 

7. Kinda cheating because you don’t find this note in his quarters, but in Professor Hecat’s. He hasn’t been an Auror for quite some time but he still feels responsible. He itches to do his old job, he told us that much. If not for his injury he’d be back in the field within the blink of an eye. He’s not afraid, he’s resourceful and tries to help in whatever ways he can. Also, he seems to have a great deal of respect for Hecat, probably because she was once an Unspeakable. Maybe they even met during his time as an Auror, who knows...

8. More cauldrons, more potion ingredients, more research notes, more seating possibilities. Seriously, his rooms are filled with chairs, settees and footrests, and I don’t think it’s because he has a lot of visitors. The only chair that really invites another person in is the second armchair in front of his smaller fireplace. The others are for him. To either put clothes on them because bending down is probably difficult with a stiff leg or to rest wherever he stands (remember the first potion lesson? He leaned against a frame, taking weight off his left leg, before immediately limping towards his desk to sit down). I imagine there are spikes of pain throughout the day and he needs to be able to sit as often as possible. 

9.  Unlike Professor Ronen, Sharp has no shaving kit in his room. Considering his uneven scruff, nobody should be surprised. He’s not one to care for appearances too much (despite wearing nice clothing but that’s just “what people do”. It’s the miminum but he won’t go out of his way, especially not if it wastes time or puts a strain on his leg), being clean and well-dressed have to be enough. He also seems to live out of his luggage, clothes are strewn about instead of lying neatly folded in the wardrobe.

10. The pièce de résistance, his bed. Simple, two pillows but only really made for one person. Interesting however, how he put some cloth over the portrait right above it. This only supports my theory that he did not choose what the walls are lined with and isn’t exactly happy about so many pairs of eyes watching him from every angle. Especially not while he’s in bed, doing Merlin knows what (like sleeping, get your mind out of the gutter. ...Jk, I’m already living in the sewers, let’s be real). 

So, what do we take from these pictures? 

Aesop Sharp is clearly single and we are absolutely ready to mingle.

Leo Sun made perfect sense to me. I’m sure other signs would too, but this one made the most sense to me. From her fierce personality to her love for shopping and enjoying luxuries in life. That’s also where I saw her possibly being a Taurus moon, being ruled by Venus, Taurus loves luxury, fashion etc. and I’ve seen so many Leo/libra/taurus placements in the fashion industry. Her stubbornness makes me think she does have mostly fixed energy in her chart. Though she loves being spoiled, she’s also a hard worker and independent, which I absolutely see in Leo sun. Libra ascendant I think is displayed by her fashion sense, being a trendsetter, from her hair to her clothes. Plus she was charming and romantic at heart (Taurus moon).

I won’t lie I was kinda stumped with chandler’s sun sign. He’s honestly my favourite and he’s hilarious, witty and dark sense of humour. So many air placements have a dark sense of humour, however I do think Scorpio could work for his Sun sign too. One of my best friend’s has a Scorpio Sun and Gemini moon and he’s one of the funniest people I know. Once you get to know them though there’s so much more to them. They crave love and affection but can hide it well with a sense of humour, especially if they’ve had traumas they’ve faced previously, hence why these made sense for Chandler. Ascendant in Sagittarius because Sagittarius ascendants are goofy and fun and laid-back but sweet and caring too.

He’s outgoing and he has a love for acting and he’s player. The reason why I said either Pisces or Sagittarius sun is because most of guys I know that are Casanovas have mutable placements. His Libra moon made sense because he’s charming and he can be romantic. Taurus could work too, the Venus ruled signs make the most sense and would also explain his love for food. He could also have a Taurus mars.

I think he may be the least liked character 😅 and I understand why. He does come across as judgemental and stubborn, hence my top three. As a Virgo rising myself I know we tend to come across as judgey but it’s because we’re so hard on ourselves that we can sometimes seem that way to other way. And the same is said for Scorpio risings, I’ve noticed. The incredible stubbornness is no doubt from his Taurus sun + Capricorn moon. I love a Capricorn moon but man they are stubborn cookies and with a Taurus can be very stuck in their ways. His dorkiness and nerdiness can also be explained by Virgo rising, even Capricorn moon. He’s also very career focused but loves with all his heart, up to a fault.

☜♡☞ Rachel and Monica being best friends is soooo Leo x Capricorn. These two are always drawn to each other and make a great pair. They work so well together.

☜♡☞ Rachel and Ross being drawn to each other constantly and having a passionate, lovey dovey relationship is very much fixed sign squared energy. And if Ross’s sun was conjunct Rachel’s moon, that would also explain why despite their other relationships, they’d always come back to each other.

☜♡☞ Joey and Chandler being best friends again, makes so much of sense with either one of their sun combinations. Libra x Sagittarius are best friends. Like I’ve always seen that. Even Pisces x Scorpio they tend to understand each other at a deeper level. Hell, even Libra x Pisces, signs who are inconjunct like Leo and Capricorn that seem to have nothing in common can get on like a house on fire.

☜♡☞ with Monica and Chandler, Virgo moons always seem to be attracted to Libra and Sagittarius placements, one being squared but the attraction is definitely there. I’ve also seen Capricorn x Scorpio combo being common in a lot of couples. Plus, all Libra x Aries placements I’ve met are not feeling each other at first but then make the best couple/best of friends.

Do you, mayhaps, have any Cherry headcanons? Or Cherry and Marcia? Cherry and Bob? Or the socs as a group? - 🍀

I shall tryyyy I honestly don’t give the socs as much thought as I probably should so let’s see

- Marcia was the one who gave Cherry her nickname when they became friends in like kindergarten and they both loved it because it sounded similar enough to her real name but was so much cooler to them

- Cherry seems like she would be popular and don’t get me wrong she definitely is, she knows a lot of people and has a solid friend group, but one of the only people she genuinely enjoys spending time with is Marcia, that’s her bffl they just get each other so well

- if we’re going off the musical as well I think Cherry likes Bev but in like a weird way kinda, she enjoys when she and Marcia hang out with her and thinks she genuinely has a good personality when you get to know her but she hatesss the way Bev is so mean to other people, like I’m pretty sure in at least the la jolla version of the musical it was said that Bev is the richest soc and it’s clear that she thinks really lowly of anyone else not on her level. She has the potential to be a really sweet girl when she wants to be, she just definitely has a huge superiority complex. Cherry and Bev’s friendship is one of those where you’re almost afraid of the other person because even though they’re nice to you, you know they’re not a nice person. Cherry is just glad she’s on Bev’s good side most of the time. Post book events, she steers clear of her as much as she can

- Bob and Cherry knew each other in middle school and she didn’t like him that much because he seemed mean but he really really liked her so by the time high school came around, he tried super hard to be sweet to her and show her his other side that she eventually fell for

- that’s why she felt so torn when everything went down because she knew how Bob was and she knew a lot of it was his fault, but she sees things from the most nuanced perspective because she knew his other side, she knew he had the potential to be such a good person, he just needed a better environment and support system

- she blames herself for everything a lot because she feels like she could’ve been more supportive toward him and maybe things would’ve went differently:(

- after the events of the book Marcia and Randy both kind of took her under their wings and became super protective of her, a lot of the other socs were kinda weird towards her after everything because rumors just go around and misinformation is spread and some people blame her for everything. She cried to Marcia after she finally had a breakdown and begged Marcia not to abandon her too because now she’s all she has left :’(

- that got angsty so let’s be happy again. I imagine based on lines from the book and the musical that a lot of soc parents tend to be emotionally or even physically quite distant like say they’re gone for work a lot of the time. Cherry and Marcia pretty much have free reign all the time because their parents are away a lot so they spend a lot of time together having sleepovers and just doing fun things together :) they looove to bake and do makeup and they could literally talk for hours and hours. Just bff things

- Marcia and Cherry are lowkey like Steve and Sodapop to me like they’re bffs who will go to the end of the earth for each other and would defend each other with their lives they love and care about each other so much

I don’t have a ton of ideas for them rn but you have planted a seed… I’m sure more will come
