i know tgc wouldn't pull all the stops for one measly daily quest, so while i hoped to see flight guide's reaction to the scattered light jars, entering the temple to this alone made me sad

i can't lie i genuinely thought that we get to see a special cutscene in the elder limbo but alas we do not. it makes sense given that often times, spirit questgivers/guides especially do not ascend

thatskygame actually suggested to have skippable cutscenes off and i did that the second time playing on my main account! i definitely recommend it for the full experience

for one, this is a beautiful scene. genuinely. i never imagined tgc would actually incorporate the "Former apprentice of Daylight Prairie Elder" into the game, and i'm glad they did! it's not only great for longtime flight enjoyers, but also great for players like me who are either new to the game, or don't keep up with official sky social media or both!

while reviewing my recording, i did notice something cute

one, the butterfly travels from Day's head to flight guide's hand

two, the butterfly that flight guide manages to hold glows brighter than the others. while i understand this is a game/visual design choice, it's fun to interpret this as the prairie elder's way of showing how they acknowledge flight guide's presence and make it known to flight guide themself that they are seen, that they (Day) are out there somewhere, even if they can't meet each other face to face

also their hand difference!!! isn't that cute?? i'm glad i got to replay this quest without skipping the elder cutscene otherwise i wouldn't have noticed this haha

I’m sorry for barging in to your ask box like this with this random ask, you’re the only other Flight fan that I follow so I needed to gush about this. Did you see today’s spirit quest with flight guide?? I was like !!!! omg!!!! FINALLY we get some more flight crumbs after years of waiting even if it’s super minor, but it has a lot of potential with headcanon stuff and adding on to their love of storytelling. I’m so happy about this

YES I DIDDDDD, MY BROTHER TOLD ME TO DO DAILIES AND I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WAS REALLY FLIGHT GUIDE!!! pictures were Not Enough i needed a whole recording of the experience i don't know when this daily will come back. it's so interesting that flight guide's daily is located at prairie village and not bird nest like their crewmates, but also that it's located by the spirit gate that leads to bird nest!!!

also you make a good point! i wonder if they had to read a lot of books as part of their apprenticeship under the prairie elder or if it's what they spend in their free time away from apprentice duties... so many thoughts...
