There is a strange sensation that buzzes on the edge of Jun's consciousness from almost the very moment she crosses that threshold into his realm. At first easily ignored; of course the hells would feel different to someone not meant to be there. And how large hell is! There are layers to this place, each with its own distinct environment and pseudo ecosystem, somewhat akin to every season coexisting at once. It has a unique appeal, even the harsh environments. Everything has a purpose in the name of maintaining balance. She spends time getting to know the denizens too, many of whom expressed surprise at her presence. For who would expect Life to intrude into such a domain, or further yet be invited and embraced into it?

The exploration is fascinating yet taxing for her, something Kazuya notes and inquires on wordlessly with a glance and slight twist to his usual resting frown. "I'm fine, just need to rest for a bit." And she does. His chambers are opulent but comfortable, with a large bed that was easy to sink into. Upon awakening she is physically rested but the buzz has amplified into a headache. An odd spasm jolts her head. A sneeze - she knows that from the mortals who have the misfortune to carry allergies to her creations. Bizarre, but perhaps not unexpected from such different surroundings. It is then she registers the sense of wetness in her palm.

Life looks down, and sees her own blood for the first time.

SO, the story behind this fic is: it's a kinkmeme fill, plain and simple. so yeah, that'll mean it will be posted on anon someday (hopefully soon.) and yeah, i did want to keep it anonymous for a little while, and see who (other than briony) would recognise my writing...

but the thing is 🙈 i'm not 100% sure i'm going to finish it in time for the kinkmeme deadline, and in that case, i'll just post it to my main. so i may as well reveal it now for added inspiration, right? right. because you see, the issue with this fic is - i need to be in a VERY specific mood to write it, because it's all... angsty and ambiguous and messy. pierresteban but make it as unresolved as possible, essentially. case in point:

i LOVE this kind of writing, i really do. (yes, i'm secretly an angst monster 💙) and i'm so proud of the bits of this fic i've already got!! like, i genuinely love reading it back and being like "oh wow... oh yeah i really wrote that... italicised oh"

it's just tricky to try and stitch the pieces TOGETHER, is the thing. like, i have a pretty great beginning, a fantastically angsty ending, and some really great (but disjointed) middle snippets. i just can't get them all to flow into a coherent whole yet 😑 so, yeah. bit of a pain in my ASS, is this fic, much as i fucking love every word of it.

but someday! someday, my brain will work with me here, and i'll finish it and post it ASAP. but until then -- hope you like this teaser! 💕

Hey yo, y’all! Hope everybody is well. ^_^ I, for one, am absolutely smashed between work and uni, but I’m trying to get some words down on the occasions that I can. Unfortunately, because of my limited time and brainpower, I’m WIP-hopping something fierce; literally just going with whatever takes my fancy at the time. I could not talk about every single one of them on here, but hey, it’s my blog and if I mention a WIP only for it to disappear into the ether and never be mentioned again, it’s not the end of the world, right? 😅

That said: atm I’m primarily invested in a CASCADE prequel, tentatively titled INUNDATE. It deals with my absolutely favourite relationship in CASCADE, which has a helluva lot of history in that WIP -- so I figured, why not actually write that history? :D (Well, one reason is because of the slow reveals that I have planned for it throughout CASCADE itself, but eh.) So far it’s fun and it also includes a lot of my favourite tropes, aka forbidden love, fucked-up relationships, etc etc. I honestly don’t know whether it’ll ever become anything, but that’s the way it is for the majority of my WIPs at the moment, and it’s so difficult to get words down that I’m gonna take anything that’s inspiring me as a win.

So that’s my life right now! Drowning under assignments, hating how much I have to work to live, and playing around with whatever WIP takes my fancy at that particularly second. ^_^ How are things going for my peeps here? Wishing everybody else the time and inspiration to get some words down on whatever project they wish. <3
