also me: there was no one on board the USS Reid (DD-369) on the day that it sunk so unless one of the mens' middle names was aaron this is an unrealistic name to give him

33. talk about a performance in a role that you can't forget

corey cott as donny novitski in bandstand. i was lucky enough to see bandstand on broadway twice, and both times corey completely blew me away. firstly, the dedication to this role was incredible. he played every song flawlessly; he didn't look like an actor playing a pianist. he looked like a professional pianist. his musical ability is absolutely incredible. donny is such a monster of a role, and corey played him so effortlessly. i think that you can feel when an actor really loves the role that they're playing, and it was so evident how much corey loved and respected not just the role of donny novitski, but who the role represented. he played donny with such reverence and care, it was such a beautiful thing to see. the emotion and heart that he poured into every moment felt like a masterclass in performance, and imo, he gave the best performance of the 2016-2017 season and i think it's such a shame that 1) bandstand closed as soon as it did, and 2) that he didn't get the recognition that he deserved. corey cott's performance as donny novitski in bandstand is one that will stick with me forever
