USA really is retrogressing right now and it's so funny to be a spectator tbh.
The world is fighting for queer rights and the Supreme Court goes on to say busineses can reject working for queer people if they want to.
The biggest most helpful step in education of a population was canceling student debts and oooh the Supreme Court said the president trying to improve American lives was unconstitutional.
They say "lives matter" but oops no abortions allowed and gun laws are practically non-existent.
IM SORRY THE "FIRST WORLD" COUNTRY AMERICA IS SO FUNNY RIGHT NOW.

Sometimes I feel like mcu fans don’t actually understand the characters. I don’t get how people can watch the captain America trilogy and avengers movies and still think that Steve is a law abiding, patriotic, swearing hating, goodie two shoes. How do people completely forget Bruce’s sarcasm. How do people think that Tony and Peter’s relationship was healthy. No hate but I think that some fans need to rewatch these movies.

As a White/Asian person of transgenderism, I may well vote for some R soon because I am calculating what extremism I can survive. And the fact is, I can pass as my assigned gender, I can pass as a good little Protestant Christian, but I can't pass as BIPOC. And now we're letting Haitians in so me getting hate crimed is more on the table than ever, but at least the Rs let me stay strapped. And I don't mean the sexual kind of strapped. I would vote Dem if they'd swear off the woke-bigotry and the effectively-open borders, and at least do a sane shall-issue permitting regime for guns.
Obviously I don't say any of this IRL because I know who's really most likely to bash me.
Thanks for your perspective Nonny.
Um, have you actually met Haitians though? I have worked with a lot of Haitians, because they’ve been immigrating here for a while and they have seemed to be sober, hard working, family oriented people, and the most bothersome things about them by any metric were how devout they were (Seventh Day Adventist), which has some potential negative consequences from a LGBTQ perspective. But like, I was told all kinds of things about Haitians as a kid (that they were lazy devil-worshipers mostly) and it turned out that almost all of those things had nothing to do with the actual Haitians I have met. And like, I have been mostly meeting first and second gen Haitian immigrants at pretty low paid jobs so it’s not like I only encountered the absolute cream of Haitian immigrants either.
I don’t see Haitians specifically as a problem in my community, and I’m in an area where some of my work sites have been like 1/3 Haitians (because they were all smart enough to do a fairly complex computer based access control job, could pass a drug test and background check, and show up on time day after day and even do long hours, which is more than could be said for some groups).

« So I've got a message to Donald Trump and all his negativity and his whining: Stop shit-talking America. »
— Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro on MSNBC telling convicted felon Donald Trump to STFU with his incessant America bashing.
youtube
Gov. Shapiro reminded viewers that presidents appoint Supreme Court justices. Helping to elect Trump by voting for some turd party candidate with no possibility of winning paves the way for more Alitos, Thomases, and Kavanaughs on the Court who will be there for decades rubber-stamping the actions of Republican authoritarians.
Because of social media and then the pandemic, real world political volunteerism has fallen off in the past 15 or so years. It's necessary to re-engage people in real life. Potential voters are more likely to be influenced by people they know than by TV or online ads. Put your personal charm to good use this year in the service of democracy.

Dana Bash is the Drew Barrymore of journalism, so this first interview makes sense. Expect lots of slobbering and softball questions for Kamala and Tim.

Imo it feels like Jared, Cameron & Red despise America so much because typically men hate individuals who perform feminity the way she does. How dare she be young, confident and peppy. How dare she like pink and be flirty and join in on jokes. I think back to Jared going out of his way to bash her for her voice during the Pressure Cooker ((when she wasn't even soeaking)) and I can't think of a reason for him or the other two to despise her for anything else besides them disliking the way she expresses herself as a woman on some fundamental level ((to which we've heard Red explicitly rant about)) and it's really upsetting because it feels like her only crime to warrant this treatment is simply her trying to be social with them

i gotta reread fahrenheit 451 sometime to see if its as insanely good as i thought it was in 9th grade. given my general feelings toward cold war history the answer is probably yes, on the basis of historical cultural insight at the least

I keep seeing people claiming things that straight-up contradict canon about America and Canada's dynamic, so I'm going to clarify a couple of points.
What's canon: Canada makes America cry after insulting him at length during an argument. Once. (The other time, we don't get to see America's reaction, even though we can certainly surmise he doesn't take it well.)
What's NOT canon: Canada constantly bullies (or even abuses!) America, treats him horribly and believes to be above him.
As I have already stressed, Canada makes America cry at most two times in canon.
Now, this obviously isn't okay and I'm not claiming Canada's actions were right. However, people just love to dismiss the context. First of all, this isn't Canada just insulting America out of nowhere without a justification, they're in the middle of arguments. Not to mention, both times, America is the one who starts insulting Canada. (This is another thing people conveniently never mention.) Then, Canada answers and, with the spirits running so high, he definitely goes too far. Even so, there is a context that, without justifying it, does explain why he lashed out so.
Moreover, Canada insulting America definitely isn't their everyday dynamic. They're depicted at ease around each other numerous times, doing activities and spending time together. All instances in which both of them are nice and friendly, clearly enjoying what they're doing. To make this even clearer, in most of their interactions, Canada shows no hostility towards America and is, instead, very kind to him.
Lastly, regarding the assumption that Canada feels superior to America... that one is explicitly denied in canon. Canada does have some issues with America's behaviour, this much is true. However, he believes himself to be overall inferior to America, not superior. He explicitly says so.
With all this, I'm not trying to claim that Canada is perfect or that he never does anything wrong. Just like every person, he has his limits and flaws and even though he's generally nice and accommodating, he can reach the breaking point when put under a lot of stress and then, make mistakes. But not being perfect all the time doesn't make him a bad person either. Not when that faulty behaviour is so different from his normal one.
