People seem to assume that Annie Cresta was not a career. Where’s the proof? She was from a career district, was she not. I believe this may be coming from her reaction to the decapitation of her district partner. That does not mean she was not trained, learning karate isn’t Going to stop you from reacting to murder. The careers are trained in combat, that doesn’t make them immune to watching people’s heads get chopped off.

Sometimes I feel like mcu fans don’t actually understand the characters. I don’t get how people can watch the captain America trilogy and avengers movies and still think that Steve is a law abiding, patriotic, swearing hating, goodie two shoes. How do people completely forget Bruce’s sarcasm. How do people think that Tony and Peter’s relationship was healthy. No hate but I think that some fans need to rewatch these movies.

Why do they only focus on Tony Stark’s ptsd, trauma and mental health in general
—————————————
Steve Rogers - World War II veteran, was frozen for 70 years, lived through the Great Depression, best friend fell to death in front of him, proberly feels tremendous guilt for not searching for Bucky’s body, had abusive father in comics (you’d have to guess it was MCU cannon due to how they had no mention of his dad being otherwise)
Thor Odinson - has fought in many battles, mom was killed, dad died in front of him, had to kill his sister, lost his home, watched his brother die several times, had to fight his brother many times, was forced to rule when he didn’t wish to (“And believe me I would love for someone else to rule but is can’t be you. You’re just… the worst”)
Bruce Banner - turns into a homicidal, destructive monster
Clint Barton - was a shield agent, not much is known about him
Natasha Romanoff - Red Room, ex shield agent, the Ohio mission, never knew her family, Antonia Dreykov, guilt
Sam Wilson - ex pararescue, watched best friend fall to death
Wanda Maximoff - bombing survivor, two days stuck under rubble, human experimentation, forced to kill boyfriend, lost children, was left so horribly traumatised by killing vision that she accidentally mind controlled a small town to create a reality where everything was fine, was corrupted by the dark hold into trying to kill a child, was left hated for a accident that happens while trying to save people (Lagos), dead brother
Bucky Barnes - was kidnapped and experimented on, fell to ‘death’, was taken, had memories wiped, tortured, brainwashed, forced to kill, nearly killed best friend twice
Peter Parker - Uncle died in front of him, parents died when he was young, bullied, nearly crushed by falling building, blackmailed into fighting superheroes he was to inexperienced to fight, mentor died in front of him, aunt died in front of him, pressured into for filling a role he can’t, was forced to wipe everyone’s memories of him, lost everything
Carol Danvers - was kidnapped, had her memories wiped, was betrayed by her friend, still is recovering her memories in her second movie
Scott Lang - was kept out of his daughters life, lost years of her life to prison/thanos
Black Panther - saw his father die, almost kills a innocent man out vengeance, was nearly killed by his cousin
—————————————————
I could keep going on but I think you get the point
So many other mcu characters have trauma, many show signs of ptsd and I am a strong believer is Steve Rogers having really bad depression. My point is that there are so many other characters whose mental health the mcu could unpack but they continuously chose to not acknowledge it. Instead of fleshing out other characters via there mental health they keep choosing to shove Tony Starks daddy issues and the one time he flew into a wormhole in our face, which in my opinion was good the first time round but is now overused.

I really wish that marvel went more into depth with Steve and Clint.
I mean correct me if I’m wrong but outside the comics we don’t really know anything about their pasts. This is odd because Hawkeye had his own show and appeared in 4 movies and Cap had his own trilogy and was in all four avengers movies. You think we would have learned more about their past, right.
With Clint i feel like he’s not really his own character. I feel like he seems to be used as purely a device for Natasha and Wanda’s characters. His show was basically just used to introduce Kate and set her up as the next Hawkeye. AOU is the only movie where we see him as an actual character and even that felt half done and stale.
With Steve he seems to have two different personalities the goodie two shoes who hates swearing, blindly follows orders is a stickler for the rules and one where he’s breaking the laws left, right and centre. Like I haven’t watched CATFA in a while but isn’t the first scene him trying to enlist into the army illegally. In that movie along with CATWS, CACW and infinity war he seems to be shown as someone who does what is right even if it means breaking the rules and doesn’t follow orders blindly. But in avengers 1, AOU and endgame he seems to just do what he’s told with no questions asked.
This seems to have led to people in the fandom portraying him as his goodie two shoes side even though he’s only portrayed like that in 3/7 of the movies he’s in.
Another complaint I have with him is how they didn’t show anything about him adjusting to the 21st century. Yes they showed him not understanding modern things but that has often been played off for comedic purposes. He doesn’t seem to have had any help adjusting to all that has changed.
It isn’t only the technology and pop culture that has changed either. His image seems to have been cemented in gold. He has become a symbol of the country and what it wants to present of itself (does that make sense). He has been held to such an impossibly high standard, expected to be no less than perfect. If you know anything about history it’s that they tend to erase things they don’t like, aspects of people they find undesirable. How much have they erased of him. A lot if the psa’s are anything to go off of. Him adjusting to this would be really interesting to see.
Would he feel overwhelmed and pressured due to this standard they hold him to? Would he feel pressured to hide the parts of him that they left out of the history books? Would he feel so alone due to never really being able to be himself? How would this affect his choices? Would he fail to meet these expectations? Would anyone notice?

I don’t get why people make jokes about Steve being old when Thor is literally 1500 years old

Don’t you just love how the people who read/write Quirkless Midoriya fanfics are the same people who say that Ojiro is useless because his quirk is weak.
