this girl i had a huge crush on in college until she changed majors from english to marketing just posted an instagram story that says “i bet all the men hating on taylor [swift] can’t even spell mercurial they just don’t appreciate her poetic genius” i dunno as a person of certified mercurial temperament i think there’s still stuff to hate

#everyone’s bashed that 1830s line to hell and back but i’m still trying to think of something she might be romanticizing about the era that #doesn’t exist directly because of ‘the racists’ (the intrinsically racist systems of settler colonialism and chattel slavery)#also that’s by and large not how marriage worked for white women in 1830s america #ryddles
