Part 1: Sunsettias.

⌞Forest of Color: ⌝
⌞A salad made from fresh fruit and vegetables. Blanch the Grainfruit, chop the other ingredients, drizzle over the sauce, then stir until evenly mixed. Extremely simple to make, but even more importantly, it's so healthy that no matter how much you eat, you won't feel stressed!⌝
You stared at the in-game meal right in front of you, it was a late friday night and you were wasting the hours away curiously reading and looking through the official page that contained all of the food and drinks that could be found in your comfort game, Genshin Impact.
As a student in the culinary course and a rather enthusiastic foodie, one of the factors you always looked for when playing or finding a certain game or watching a particular show was their cuisine!
Just staring at the delicious looking, not-real, food always got your appetite running. Part of your little hobby was trying to even recreate certain dishes like those foodtubers did in youtube! Right now while mentally eating the pixelated dish in your mind, you were also picking the next food you'd try to recreate.
'Perhaps I should pick from star rail, none of the food here has picked my fancy. .' you thought to yourself while leaning back on your chair and making a point to stroke your chin with a thoughtful expression. 'Ah! how about the Mondstadt hash browns, I could even try to make Razor's variant dish!'
Snapping your fingers you immediately went to the kitchens, mentally patting yourself on the back for going grocery shopping the day before. So like usual, in the comfort of your own apartment, you began to cook, then eat and clean up, before retiring to your bedroom, dozing off with a full stomach and a lazy smile.
Z z z. . .
"Huh?" You swat at your face before sneezing, immediately standing up as you felt something tickling your face, what fell from your face and onto your lap was a pristine white feather.
Immediately standing up, finding yourself out of bed, no, out of your own room and seemingly not even in your fucking city as you started at the environment before you. Lush, verdant grass that swayed with the winds. Birds chirping as they flew high and above your form, some scattering the same feathers that made you sneeze.
A wave of fear and confusion washed over you, you were afraid as you began to realize this wasn't a dream when you ran, and ran, and tripped. Part of your pajama pants had been ruined and vaguely you can feel the blood dripped down on your leg from your fresh injury.
Wincing you stand up, not bothering to look as it as you cried out, wondering, where the hell were you?
. . .
It probably took you a few hours to get your bearings, sitting by a tree as you hugged your knees and contemplated your existence, did you screw with some God or Rich Asshole and they decided to kidnap you and dump you in the middle of nowhere as revenge?
Nah, you were antisocial, so screwing with some rich guy was highly unlike with your lack of a social life. You bit your nails, was it God? "At least give me a sign of where I am!" you shout frustrated as you pulled at your locks.
"Ouch!" Wincing, you rubbed the top part of your head as something fell on it, the perpetrator was round, yellow and orange in color. Your eyes widened, silently grabbing it as you ignored the now dulling pain in your head. .
It was plump, fragrant. .
you bit it.
It tasted sweet.
you ignored the juice that dribbled down you chin as you nodded, yes, this was how you imagined Sunsettia's would taste like base on it's description.
you blinked, jaw dropping.
Sunsettias. .
fuck you were in Teyvat, basically Genshin Impact.
A part of you felt like you were screwed, considering how all of your worldly possessions were gone, and you were here in nothing but your pockets. One hand went to pat the pockets of your pajamas. .
Eyes lighting up as you felt something, pulling that item out, you were speechless as your hand simply held an old expired coupon for some ramen. . .
screwed it is then.

I need to find a banner to use for the series, also also although I put in Baker, the reader will also make dishes, both from in-game and in real lifeee so if you want a particular dish featured in a future chapter, add the recommended dish in my ASKS so it can be a surprise for other readers! Please also add information about that dish since I may most likely not be familiar with themm

Unrelated to any of the Kenji thirst I keep thinking to the moment where Kenji is real close to losing his shit because someone made the 'Where's the Japanese Version of the guy' in regards to him and like fuck it hit me hard. I'm mixed like to the point where people can't pin my ethnicity by looking at me and constantly being told I'm not x or y enough to be a member of a community by all rights I do belong to I just I really empathized with him in that moment. I'd love to see some head cannons on how he feels and deals with the "Not Japanese enough" allegations, how he feels about being back in his home country after being in America for so long just overall how he adjusts and navigates through that

Adjusting to life back in Japan was.. no easy feat, really. It had been so long since he was home, it no longer felt right to call it that. He felt out of place in his own skin. No one could tell, after all – it was his charm. But after every game, after every interview, he goes home and feels more disappointed in himself with each day. His own language, it feels foreign on his tongue. Each word he says feels wrong. You’ll be there to reassure him that it’s been some time, of course he won’t be perfect. But that’s the issue; he’s not perfect. He should be. That’s what people expect of him.
Criticism came with the lifestyle, it was a guarantee. But for it to come from his own people? Ouch. It was bad enough that back in America, he was made fun of for his bare-bone English, now back in Japan it’s his barely coherent Japanese. He feels like wherever he goes, he has to feign confidence to not break down. He puts on those damn shades to hide the way his eyes start to tear up when things get too much. Sure, he had gone through shit. But how much can one man take till he starts to break? Kenji can tell you, it’s not a lot. It’s been years and he’s just had to act like it doesn’t affect him.
And if not for the way he speaks, of course they go for how he looks. Now Kenji will admit, he IS a confident man. He loves himself and his image, but he isn’t immune to insecurity, no one is. Your heart breaks whenever he cries in your arms, resting on top of you as he sobs into your chest. You try to soothe his worries, kissing each part of him that he feels insecure about, which ends up just being his whole face. It’s a harrowing sight to see. You just wished you could get rid of all his problems, because for one man to bear it all? It wasn’t fair for his poor soul.
Sometimes you’ll wake up to him watching his old games, he’ll ask you what’s wrong, but you don’t notice. Instead, you see little him and how he smiled. It confused you, the tape wasn’t even playing – it was just paused there. He had that typical smile that most kids had, full of teeth and eyes squinted because of how wide their smile was. You chuckle, he was so cute. You then look back at him, and you try to understand. “I-” He’ll start, running a hand through his hair. “I just.. I missed that smile. The people back in America.. they made fun of me so-” You ran into his arms, engulfing him in a hug that made him feel so warm and fuzzy. And he doesn’t realise it, but that moment brings back that smile. He’s just so happy with you he can’t help it.
I think that, all and all, he’s just had to become desensitised to everything. He just shuts down whenever someone says something about how he doesn’t fit in. You’ll defend him, but he tells you not to. It’s a waste of breath. You want to argue that it’s not, that he deserves to be defended, but his defeated look wins you over. He knows there’s no real way to stop them, so he’d rather focus on his practices or making you feel happy. Those are things that matter to him; not something as temporary as his appearance or mannerisms of speech. He’s accepted that, and his priority is your happiness and his. :)
For more lighthearted headcanons, if you were Japanese, you'd offer to help Kenji refresh on writing his Kanji and overall speaking, which he is more than happy to accept. Another case, if you aren't Japanese; he'll ask if you want to learn with him. He's overjoyed if you accept, it brings a positive association and motivation to relearn his language. It wasn't to just please people.
I imagine Ami had become a good friend to you and Kenji, so she offers to demonstrate all the mannerisms Kenji has perhaps forgotten (and you did too/want to learn as well) to help. You both appreciate her helpful hand, and treat her to good restaurants for dinner as thanks. :)

Tumblr media
Before Randall was too little to be part of his adventures, Marc used to play on his own in the yard.
Usually that entailed kicking a football at the wooden fence that lined their garden, trying to knock it off his chest when it would come bouncing back the way he’d seen the professionals do it, even if it had led to three milk teeth coming loose already.
But there weren’t kids on his street to play with, at least that’s what he thought until the one day he kicked his ball a little too high and watched it fly right over the top of the fence, bouncing into the neighbour's yard, a soft “ouch” meeting his ears.
In minutes, a little head appeared over the wall, beady eyes frowning down at him, and he realised it was a girl around his age, maybe a little younger.
“Did you lose this?” She held up his soccer ball he was worried he was going to have to kiss goodbye to forever, the small digits of her other hand holding onto the fence tightly.
“Yeah! Sorry, I didn’t mean to kick it so high,” Marc said, and with no more explanation than that, she threw it over to his side of the partition, and her tiny head disappeared back below the fence line.
He felt stunned. He knew there were moving boxes over that way a couple weeks ago, but as far as he could see there was only a man living there on his own, a scowl on his face most days. Marc had seen him shouting at the other kids on his block to stop riding their bikes in front of his house because it ‘upset the dog’, though Marc had yet to see for himself this canine friend he was speaking about.
But there was a girl living there! A real life girl who spoke to him; granted he had lobbed a heavy soccer ball at her, from what her distaste told him, and he wondered if perhaps, despite the grumpy look on her face he realised mirrored the man he’d seen living there, that she might like to even make friends with her neighbour.
“Wait!” He yelled, running up to the fence where she had slipped away from him, grabbing on to the top and pulling himself up to the point he was on his very tippy toes and he could only just about see her yard.
The grass was unkempt, which was odd because Marc’s own dad cut the grass every fortnight, and there were planks of wood with nails sticking out of them strewn across the side of the shed she had used to pull herself up with. He fought the urge to cringe in disgust, because there, looking up at him from where she was making a daisy chain in the long, dry grass, alone in a pink plaid shorts and a white, dirt stained top, was the girl.
“Do you want to play?” Marc asked, his foot nearly slipping under him where he was trying to rest it on the wood to take a closer look, “I have tennis, or swing ball we could play?”
She looked interested at the mop of curly, black hair for a moment, before she looked back at the house that he had still yet to see any sign of a dog.
“I’m not sure my dad would like it…” She said cautiously, almost whispering to him, picking the soil under her nails.
“My mom could come around and get you, she could talk to him,” He offered, because this was when his mother was still mom and not Wendy.
Before she had yet to flip his world entirely upside down with her cruel hands and vicious tongue. Before Steven.
She seemed unsure, biting her bottom lip and stroking her arms like she was giving herself a cuddle. But she nodded, looking up at him, and he tried to hide just how excited he was to finally have someone to play with.
“I’m Marc,” He said, grinning at her, his tongue poking between the space where his adult teeth were only just growing back in.
She told him her name back, and it was the first time he understood what a crush was.
“Marc, I’m not sure we should be doing this,” She said, grabbing his hand so tight he thought his heart might explode.
“It’s okay, we come here all the time, don’t we, RoRo?” He reassured, looking back to where Randall, now a few years older and big enough to play with them, held onto the side of the cave, his own face nervous.
“All the time!” The little boy echoed, because Marc knew he had a bit of a thing for her as well, because she was older and cool and smelled like a field of flowers and he hated seeming like he was scared, even though he was.
He was just a kid.
They were just kids.
And being kids, they stumbled into danger without realising it, not even when the rain started coming down outside torrentially and they had to pause their game of pirates to run for cover. They hadn’t expected, in their childish excitement to continue the adventure, that the water would start pooling into the cave; that it would fill up like a basin, whether they were in there or not, and it wasn’t until the screaming started that they realised they were in the kind of danger that required an adult.
Marc was the first one to get out, his hair soaked, his heart racing, and he used a grown up word he heard his dad use sometimes because he could have sworn they were both right behind him.
And if that had been true, then where were they?
He called her name, debated going back in there himself to see where they had gone, then he yelled for RoRo, because she didn’t seem to be answering.
And there was only silence, except a clap of thunder overhead that said the rain was going to get worse; was not going to stop for hours.
Which was when he ran to get his dad.
By the time Elias got there, his glasses wet and steamed, his thick thatch of curls too similar to Marc’s soaked through, all he could see was a head of hair peeking out of the mouth of the cave, and his heart sank.
He dragged her out of the dark water, arms under her shoulders as he rolled her on her front and started patting her back, trying to get her to spit some of the water out, because her face was ice and her skin was soaked and her playsuit was ripped from where she’d snagged it on the rocks.
Marc remembered crying into his hands, gaze flicking back to the cave to see if RoRo was right behind her, if he was just waiting to be pulled out as she had been.
But there was nothing. Nothing but rain water and moss and those damn rocks he’d been gripping onto not an hour earlier.
His heart leapt when she spluttered finally, after his dad had thrown her over his knee and taken to giving her a one handed heimlich right between her shoulder blades. She spat the water out, her body shivering immediately, eyes bleary as they looked around as if she expected to still be in that dark hole in the wall, and Elias set her down on the grass to go look for his youngest son.
“Stay with her, Marc,” He barked, uncharacteristically sharp for him though Marc guessed it was fear, and took off towards the cave again. Marc pulled her into his arms, and it was only then they started wailing together.
They sat there for an hour when the rescue team finally arrived, a medical team with warm hands and even warmer blankets ushering them to the safety of the back of an ambulance, and the last thing Marc remembered for that horrible day was sitting on the stretcher with her pressed against his side, trembling under the reflective wrap they’d been tucked in that made them look like baked potatoes, wishing he had never suggested they go in that damn cave.
“You’re leaving?” She said, her lip quivering, her eyes lined with tears. They sat on his bed, his duffel bag already packed, his acceptance letter burning daggers into his head from his nightstand, “Military? Marc, just think about this for a minute-”
“I have thought about it. I’m not some dumb kid making rash decisions, I want this,” Except he didn’t, not really. What he meant to say was he wanted to leave, to run away and never come back, but the idea of never seeing her again was too difficult to think about.
She thought about it for a moment, and he held her hand when he saw her face really start to crumble then. “If you go, I’ll have no one left. You’re all I have,”
He didn’t hide the fact he saw how nervous she was when Marc would pick her up from her house and her father would see her out the door, a nasty, inebriated glare in his eyes at the Specter boy. He saw all the times she would tiptoe around the floorboards, the way he knew too well, as if she was scared of what would happen if she took up too much space, made too much noise. Or when his mother had been kind, way back before any of this had happened, and had fussed over her pretty hair, had piled food on her plate because Wendy said she needed the goodness, she had locked up entirely and looked at his mother as if she was an alien.
Even now, when they were both seventeen, nearly adults in the grand scheme of things, he knew her father was cruel.
“I’m sorry,” He said honestly, and he felt his own throat clogging up with real emotion he only ever let himself show when he was with her, “When I get a place of my own, I’ll come back here, and we can pack your bags together, and we can live far away from all of this,”
And it sounded like he was spinning her a fantasy; which he was. She felt like an idiot for believing him, for flashing him a small smile and leaning her forehead to his which was the closest they ever got to admitting how they really felt about each other.
He wanted to kiss her then, before he left to start his new life, one where they could be happy together, and he made a promise to himself that when he came back for her that would be the first thing he would do.
He could see it now; he would be in some kind of flashy car with the top rolled down, a man grown from the regime and fitness they would teach him in the army and she would come running to him like an angel parting the clouds, like a dream that was finally within reach, and he would kiss her then, so hard it would make up for the time they had lost, the time they had grieved together, it might even make up for that day she nearly died because of him.
So he left her, that fantasy of coming back to her keeping him going in the months of training, during roll call and exams and the small, clinical portions they would serve him in the military.
But that day never came. Somewhere between losing himself to the alter that had formed and led a full life separately to his, between hiding Steven from the ugly truth and becoming a mercenary after dropping from the army, he tucked the dream away as a what if, and he didn’t return back to that house where his mother had caused so much hell.
Not until the second day of her shiva, that was.
-
“Marc?” He forgot how sweet his name sounded from her lips, and he hated to admit it in the middle of his drunken state, but he’d wished he’d never heard it again in his entire life.
Because the second his front door opened, and a woman in a long black dress, heels and lace gloves stared back at him with a face that looked similar to a girl he once knew, only a notch between her brows that said she had done nothing but frown for twenty years, he wished he had never seen her again.
She was beautiful, more beautiful than he ever gave her credit for, yet she looked tired. Sunken. Like she had wept and screamed alongside all the frowning.
“Marc,” She said it more determined this time, pacing down the stairs to his home, her footsteps rushed and worried, “Are you okay?,”
He knew he must look like a mess. He hadn’t stopped crying for three days since he got the first phone call from his father in almost two decades, since he’d learned his mother had passed, and he was already a bottle of whiskey deep by the time he’d stepped out the cab onto the street he grew up on.
He didn’t know why he hadn’t thought she would be there. He guessed she would be far away from this place, just like he had been, in a mansion with a 401k and a dog and a neurosurgeon for a husband. She had always deserved it.
But here she was, grabbing the bottle out of his hand gently, rubbing a hand over his shoulder like not a day had gone by that they hadn’t seen one another, and it didn’t take him much convincing at all to pull her into a hug he had needed since the day he left.
“My mum’s dead,” Marc said, sounding like a little boy again when he wept into her neck, squeezing her body to his, and he felt her rubbing his back soothingly.
“I know, Marc, I’m so sorry,” She hummed, and she smelled like a fancy floral perfume he couldn’t afford to give her before, “I know you must be feeling complicated,”
He nodded, because he couldn’t have put it better himself. He felt complicated.
“I missed you,” She said, like it was a confession, and he cried harder, his face burying into the crook of her shoulder.
“I missed you too,”
“How’s Steven? Is he still around?” She asked, pulling him away to root through her pocket for the pack of tissues she’d kept handy for the day. He took a deep breath, rubbing his sleeved arm over his face to dry it even the slightest. He could feel his cheeks sopping wet from where he had sobbed in the back of the cab like a madman all the way here.
But she was still fussing over him, and she looked just as pretty as he had remembered her, sitting on his bed that day, if not only a little more tired under her eyes.
Ofcourse she had known about Steven. How else was he supposed to explain the times they would be playing boyfriend-girlfriend together and he would become a different person.
Sometimes Steven would remember her too, because it didn’t matter to her who he was, she was his best friend either way. He remembered a girl who smelled like summer, sitting on the swings and eating ice lollies together, taking it in turns to push each other, blue tongued and happy.
“Yeah, sometimes,” He replied quietly, as she handed him the tissues, “He misses you, too,”
She smiled at him with her lips pressed tightly.
“I take it you’re not coming in?” She said in a careful tone, and he shook his head quickly.
“No- I just can’t,” He said, tears welling up in his eyes in seconds, and she wrapped him in another hug immediately, soothing his hurt as fast as it had bubbled back up.
“Hey, it’s okay, it’s okay, you don’t have to,” She hummed, stroking down his back gently, and he hugged her tightly as if she was the only thing keeping him together.
He opened his mouth to speak when his front door opened again, and he worried for a second that it was Elias.
Instead, he saw a girl no older than five emerge in a cute, poofy dress that met her knees, her hair tucked into a neat braid, lace gloves matching her own as she lingered at the doorway.
And perhaps the thing that struck him the quickest; she was the damn near double of the girl he’d hit in the head with his soccer ball in that very yard.
“Mommy,” The girl said in a gentle coo, her eyes empathetic as she met his gaze, more empathetic than he knew children could feel. But, he supposed, if she was her daughter then it didn’t surprise him in the slightest.
His best friend turned, her face smoothing out into something peaceful when she saw her little girl, and he knew then she was born to be a mother. Nothing like his own, nothing like Wendy, and he cursed himself for not seeing it sooner.
She was a mother.
“Yes, baby?” She said, half stepping towards her child as the girl stumbled down the first step towards them, and she was quick to swoop her into her grasp and onto her hip.
“I need to use the bathroom,” The girl said shyly, peeking a glance at him over her mum’s shoulder, and she waved at him with tiny fingers.
He waved back, even if the sight of her had dumped a bucket of cold water all over his body.
“Alright, baby. Just wait in the foyer, I’ll come take you in just a second, I’m just speaking to my friend right now,” She said, stroking over the back of the girl’s hair softly, and kissing her chubby cheek. “Is that okay?”
She nodded, and her mum kissed her once more, plopping her back on the top step to direct her back into the house. And they were alone again.
She looked at him guiltily, stepping back towards him as she fiddled with her sleeves nervously, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t get childcare and I don’t really know anyone in state anymore-”
“No, it-it’s fine,” He stammered, feeling her watching him for his reaction carefully, “What’s her name?”
“Dalilah,” She replied, rubbing hands up her arms to calm herself.
“Where’s her dad?” Marc asked, hoping he didn’t sound bitter, but the whiskey made it sound like a bite.
She shrugged, “He wanted the cars and the house when we split; I wanted her,” She said calmly, like it wasn’t one bomb after another to be dropped on him.
He knew nothing about her life. He had tried to run away from that promise he’d made her for twenty years, because he knew he would never be good enough for her; that he could never give her the happiness she deserved, even before he had become the Moon Knight.
At his core, he would rot her, ruin her. He would destroy her.
And yet hearing it was just the two of them alone, he felt like he could take out the piece of shit who ran out on them barehanded and go home to sleep next to her soundly.
He felt like perhaps, as much grief and anguish as returning back to that house had caused him, perhaps this was his second chance. His chance to be what she needed, to be something good.
He would be so good to them. He would give them everything if she asked.
“I’m not really in town much, especially with my dad still around,” She said, gesturing to where her yard still stood, full of junk and a dog that had supposedly been kicking strong for two decades, “But I would love to see you again. Lila has school most days so you’re free to come over any day of the week if you want it to be just us; I work at home,” She scribbled an address about two hours away down on a piece of paper, along with her phone number, handing it to his distraught face with a sad smile, somewhat hopeful he would take the olive branch she was shaking his way.
He took it with a nod, his bottom lip still trembling before he bit it hard enough to force it to stop. He would love to see her, if he would even allow himself something good. If he would just let go of the resentment for everything that reminded him of that time, he could see the two of them healing one another slowly, but surely.
She could fix him. And he could fix her. The way it had always been with them.
“Yeah, I’d love that,” Marc said softly, allowing her to grab him tightly one more time, “I really did miss you,”
She laughed, not properly more like a sad breath out, squeezing him to her, “I loved you so much. I never let you go, you know that?”
He tried not to sob, almost holding her so maddeningly hard she couldn’t ever leave.
But he had to let go eventually, and he watched her walk back up the stairs to where his family mourned, her face glinting with something hopeful, holding a flashlight out to him where he was walking around in the dark blindly.
He tried to smile back, though he knew it wouldn’t be the same, wouldn't be truly untouched by the grief he wallowed in.
And by the time he got back to his hotel room, alone, even more drunk, Khonshu had another job for him that would whisk him away for two weeks. But he kept her number, the piece of paper gripped in his hand tight, like he was determined to keep his promise this time around.
He dialled her number exactly fifteen days later, his body aching, his nose bloodied, but something lighter in his chest at the prospect of seeing her again. The light in his dark, the girl on the swings he’d once pretended to marry during their game of house (the rings had been tiny daisy chains she’d woven together just that morning, their officiant was Randall who could barely ride a bike let alone remember the vows he was supposed to say.)
Only when the phone got put through, a different woman answered, and the light flickered back out into something cold and dark and vengeful.
“Oh, oh god, you haven’t heard?” He swallowed thickly, “She was hit by a drunk driver last week picking Lila up from school,” The woman, her cousin, explained, her voice teary and solemn, and he didn’t doubt she’d had to make a thousand of these calls the past few days, “They said it was quick, and Lila went fast so she wasn’t in any pain- and she was only in the ambulance for ten minutes before her heart stopped so she wasn’t hurting long either-”
But he put the phone down, his eyes wide, his body numb, his chest empty and lonely.
Because the very last bit of good in him was gone; because everything he touched was cursed and tainted from the offset.
It took what felt like twenty cups of whiskey for him to black out that night, he knew sleep would evade him, he knew not to even bother trying. And Jake Lockely woke up for him, something mean and hateful in the black of his eyes.
He didn’t care who, but someone was going to pay for his cielo being taken from them.

Based on the amusement park idea:
How about House goes into a horror house with the reader?
You know, the ones with real actors in it? :D
And House would be absolutely unimpressed but can play the strong protector for Reader who he has a thing for?
(Maybe with a little make out scene in a darker corner? 🙈🙊)
ooh this sounds like fun! i've been in a spooky mood lately so i am actually so hyped for this one!
GREGORY HOUSE X READER
🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
If you were to ask House about what he thought about holidays in general, he'd say they were a waste of time while also making the argument that their only good purpose was time he got off work and still got paid for.
He also was not a fan of amusement parks, and he wasn't even sure how you'd managed to drag him along to one. It was a week to Halloween, and the park had gone from it's usual cheery theme to a haunted wonderland, and House wanted zero part in it. And yet, here he was.
"Oh come on, House. Live a little. Have some fun," you urged as the two of you wandered around the fairgrounds. Wilson had wandered off with the team to go find something to eat, but House has spent the entire evening eating so far.
"I'm not going on any rides," he huffed. "Unless you want those four corndogs I ate all over that sweater."
You rolled your eyes. "I don't think any of the rides are cripple-friendly, anyway," you teased.
"Ouch," he said, feigning offense as he leaned on his cane. The air was cool, and it did help the pain in his leg a little bit, but he could still feel pain searing through it.
"But we're not leaving until you do something. Or until the park closes. I guess whichever comes first," you said.
"We'll be here all night then," he mumbled. You sighed and looked around the park until you spotted a haunted house, and there wasn't a long line in front of it.
"If you go through the haunted house with me, we can go home," you promised, and House raised an eyebrow.
"That's it? You're not going to force me to get my face painted like a ghost or anything?"
"We'll go right home after."
"Fine."
It had been years since you'd been inside a haunted house, and from what you could remember, you weren't the biggest fan of them, but you were determined to make House have some fun.
"Are you sure you want to go in? You're not gonna get all scared on me, are you?" he asked, and you rolled your eyes.
"I make no promises," you teased, and before you knew it, you were walking inside the haunted house. It was dark, and there was a soundtrack of spooky noises playing in the background.
"Fake spiders. How convincing," House rolled his eyes as they walked through the rooms. You stayed close beside him, and the darkness thankfully hid the smirk on his face.
As you turned the corner, one of the actors dressed as a zombie jumped out from behind a chair, and you stumbled backwards.
"Jesus!" you gasped, and House burst out laughing.
"You couldn't hear him shuffling back there?" he asked, and you smacked his arm.
"I wasn't expecting it!"
"Who goes into a haunted house and doesn't expect to get scared?" he asked.
"Oh shut up," you mumbled, but every time someone jumped out at you, you had the same reaction every time, and House laughed every time.
"You'd never survive in a horror movie. You'd be like, the first one that gets killed," he joked, moving one of the hanging cobwebs out of the way so that it didn't get stuck on his face.
"Oh, like you'd do any better. You couldn't run to save your life. At least I have that over you," you retorted, and House feigned offense.
"God, if insulting a cripple was an Olympic sport, you'd take home the gold," he rolled his eyes, a smirk creeping up on his face.
"At least I could compete in the Olypmics," you teased.
"Hey! The ParaOlympics exist for a reason," he replied. He was enjoying the back and forth banter. He always did.
Before you knew it, you came to the end of the haunted house, but not without an entire ten minutes worth of newfound nightmare fuel, but before you walked out of the exit, House grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you into a corner.
"What are you doing?" you asked, barely able to see the smirk on his face.
"We're gonna scare the next poor bastards that walk through here," said, pulling you closer to him so that you weren't visible to anyone else.
"Are you serious? We're gonna get kicked out," you said.
"Oh come on, Y/N. Live a little. Have some fun," House spoke, mocking your tone from earlier in the evening.
"Fine, but we're leaving right after," you said, to which House nodded his head in agreement.
As the two of you waited for someone else to come by, you started to realize just how close you were standing to him, and his voice broke through your thoughts.
"Have you ever kissed someone under the cobwebs before?" he asked, and you raised an eyebrow.
"Isn't it usually meant to be under the mistletoe?"
"Yeah, but cobwebs are a little more my speed," he teased, and you rolled your eyes jokingly.
"Touche," you said, and House pulled you closer (if that was even possible at this point). He pressed his lips against yours, and you found yourself getting lost in the kiss. So much so, that you completely forgot about trying to scare the next people who exited the haunted house. Not that either of you cared, anyway.

Reminiscing as human
based on a personal hc that bill looks the way he does as a cyclops in my human bill design, is to embrace his defect due to his want to feel accepted since backstory with his dimension. Cyclops (Cyclopia) is an actual real life deformity after all!
!!slight spoiler to book of bill down below!
So Ford continuously showing his fascination with abnormalities, esp Bill’s, is part of why he might’ve fell for him as much he denies and fumbled in canon (ouch). He probably got see that fascination in Ford’s memories whenever he got to observe to know him better at first, leading to him being like “wtf this human has been researching abnormalities? What a weirdo, he’s destined for more in helping me with my portal!” besides thinking that Ford must be a idiot for tampering with the shaman’s spell at the start

Note
Okay so based on some of what Solas says in Trespasser, it’s raised questions for me and I’d like to hear your opinion-if you feel like sharing.
1) when he says “I would never lie with you under false pretences” do you think that means they straight up never banged or more that the love was always real and basically separate from everything else
And
2) does he straight up mean for Lavellan to die with like everyone else when he tears down the veil? Like she’s just accepted collateral no matter how much it hurts him?
Thank you for your time
Hello! Thanks for the ask :)
I definitely believe the "I would not lay with you under false pretenses" line was specifically vague so the player can interpret it. Either as, "yes we had sex but I was Solas and no false pretenses because that's my true self" (especially because Fen Harel isn't a title or persona Solas chose for himself, he says he merely adopted it as a badge of pride). Or you can interpret the line as him saying "no, we didn't have sex because it wouldn't feel right without you knowing the full truth. " Personally, I like to imagine they got into some heavy petting but never full intercourse.
As far as Lavellan dying...ouch this one hurts. He already is resigned to her death ("the mark will eventually kill you") but wants to make sure the rest of her life is as good/comfortable as possible. This involves distancing himself from her and not allowing her to see what he becomes. I don't think Solas is expecting his love to survive the Veil coming down, or maybe even survive long enough to see it come down before the anchor residual kills her.
In the grand scheme of things, as much as it hurts me to say, the Solas we have seen so far would absolutely accept Lavellan as collateral (even if he does everything to prevent that) because he would give up, and has given up, everything to see the Veil gone.

Ranking the Veilguard companions Hookup Potential based on the kind of bed situation they have going on in the Lighthouse
(im in early act 2 so have no idea what further romance scenes are actually like, this is just jokin time without any romance spoilers. just pics of how their respective rooms in the lighthouse look and some basic characterization we know about them)
Taash: 8/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In another game or the real world I would only rate this a 5 because she has no pillows or addition blankets. however she does have a real bedframe AND it's big enough for 2 which means she is doing better than 90% of the rest of the Veilguard so this score gets boosted. And while there's not many blankets, there are plenty of braziers around the room to keep you warm, and Taash is probably her own miniature furnace to cuddle up to. Crucially, she also has a whole wheel of cheese next to the bed, which means you don't even have to leave the covers to get a snack after.
Lucanis: 1/10
Tumblr media
Oh no. I'm not even going to comment on the pantry angle because everyone else asks him about that to begin with, so this is just about the bed. Unfortunately the bed is a cot made of uneven wooden planks with some blankets on top of it, and is only wide enough for 1. This is because Lucanis hates sleeping and doesn't want to do it, so the less tempting his bed is, the better for him. Unfortunately this means sleepover potential is dreadful and you will have to find alternate solutions. He does at least have another blanket to go over him and one that's presumably being used as a pillow, so, he gets a 1 instead of a 0, but I am still planning on gifting him coupons for a back massage for Satinalia.
Bellara: 4/10
Tumblr media
This setup is perfectly fine for sleeping. It's the lighthouse standard little bed couch thing, has a mattress/cushion, is elevated off the floor, has a pillow, and she's got her blankets folded below. Perfectly serviceable for getting a good night's rest which we know Bellara is not because she forgot to sleep again. However, it's very much a one person sized setup. You might be able to cuddle for a while but if one of you unconsciously tries to roll over you are going right to the floor. Ouch.
Lace Harding: 5/10
Tumblr media
You might be wondring "why is sleeping on the floor rated higher than bellara's" and the answer is because this means you are not rolling off the bed onto the floor. it's not going to be comfy but we are not ranking comfort here we're ranking sleepover potential. Harding has managed to make this space look homey and the canopy gives the illusion of being in a tent or canopy bed to help with that illusion. There are rugs down on the floor plus the blankets and pillows--we know Harding is used to sleeping on the ground due to her career as a scout, and I'm sure she can scrounge up more blankets to make the cushioning big enough for the both of you. Your back WILL hurt in the morning but you'll get to have a fun night first.
Neve: 3/10
Tumblr media
Girl I know you can do better than this. Which means you're not trying to on purpose, so, live your life I guess. I will say this cot IS bounds nicer than Lucanis's--you can see its a stretched canvas or hide on a frame rather than wooden planks, so it will have a little more give. However they are not THAT much comfier which I know having slept on this modern equivalent many times. Neve also apparently has 0 pillows or blankets so you're out of luck there, as well as the problem of it only being wide enough for 1 again. This woman has too many other things going on to think about romance so your Rook is going to be the one improvising on that matter I think.
Davrin: 10/10
Tumblr media
Now here is a man who has his life together. Double or queen size mattress, rustic bed frame he probably lovingly carved and assembled himself by hand, and not only are there sheets AND blankets AND pillows, they are are full on matching set and this knight in shining armor dutifully makes the bed every morning. There's also enough pillows for two! While the remains of a giant corpse is hanging above you all night, the spacing of the ribs still gives you lots of room above to manouver, so just don't worry about that. As a bonus you'll probably even have a baby griffon come to cuddle in the night which is such a cute thought we're going to ignore how much worse getting stepped on by a griffon foot would be than even the biggest fattest housecat trying to stand on your stomach at 4:30am. My one criticism of the setup here is that due to the bed's positioning if the person on the inside needs to get up in the night they'll have to awkwardly crawl over the person on the outside, however everyone else's bed situation is so dismal I'm not even going to subtract a point for that. Great work Davrin.
Emmrich: ???/10
Where... does this man sleep. Peepaw I KNOW you can't be sitting in that armchair all night you need your beauty rest!!! There are 0 beds or cots or floor blankets in this man's room. HOW am I supposed to break his pelvis if he has nowhere for us to lie down??? We can't risk that old man's spine on the cobblestone.
Wait... unless. No, surly not. I mean--jk. Unless...? 😳😳😳
Tumblr media
is daddy necromancer gonna fuck me on the sacrifice slab... 😳😳😳🥵🥵🥵
Bonus:
Solas 11/10
Tumblr media
does not matter where he actually slept bc once my inquisitor Gets Him again they WILL be fucking on top of the piano in front of the mural in his Yearning Room

What It Cost
****THIS IS A FICTIONAL STORY BASED ON REAL PEOPLE. 18+ ONLY. I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO THE PEOPLE OR MUSIC MENTIONED IN THIS STORY OUTSIDE OF LILITH AND SADIE AND MAYBE A COUPLE OTHERS. DO NOT READ IF YOU’RE NOT UP FOR FANFIC INVOLVING REAL PEOPLE***
Terrible summary: Five years since she last spoke to him. Since she last saw him. Now his face and his voice is everywhere. She can't escape him.
Five years ago Noah destroyed her and the life they had built. Now he’s back and seeking to make amends. As much as she wants to say that it's too little too late, is it?
CW/TW: Angst, mention of addiction, cheating. Mention of character death. Language. Smut (later on). PinV, unprotected PinV (wrap it before you tap it, friends), oral (f&m receiving). All smutty warnings happen later on, so I’ll update TW/CW warning labels as those parts are written and posted. If I forget anything, please let me know so I can fix it! Thank you!
A/N: Currently unedited. Sorry. 😬 Read at your own risk, I guess. 😅 Also no word count because I’m lame.
Part 1
Part 2-Noah
"Lilly's on her way." Nicholas dropped down in the chair next to him.
Noah's heart sank into his stomach. Five years of successfully staying out of her way was about to go to shit. At first he'd done it to make it easier on her. Or so he told himself. But after five years, he had to admit it was because he was nothing but a coward, too scared to face the worst mistake he'd ever made. Hurting her. He could still see the look on her face when he'd come home that morning.
The way those brilliant blue eyes of hers, bloodshot from lack of sleep and undoubtedly hours of crying, tracked his movements as he quietly went up the stairs to take a shower. The pain etched on her face. He'd never seen her so fragile. He'd left the shower and gone downstairs, ready for her anger. Ready for the fight that he was sure was going to happen after what he'd done. Instead he'd gone down just in time to watch her pull out of the driveway. No yelling. No screaming. No crying. She just left. And he did nothing to try to stop her. He knew what he had done. The final nail in the coffin.
"I should leave. I'm not needed here."
"Stop being a fucking coward. I love you, man. But you can't run from what you did forever. Been sober for three years now and you're still too chicken shit to face her."
Ouch. He was right, but ouch. Noah had made amends with everyone he had hurt during those years he had tried to drink himself to death. But the thought of facing her fucking terrified him. Before that last year he had been sure he was going to marry her someday. Shit, even during that last year of their relationship he had been sure of it. Up until he just kept fucking it up more and more, too chicken shit to face his own demons like a grownup.
"Does she know I'm here?"
"Yes. We all promised to keep you away from her unless she wants to speak to you."
Noah grimaced. Sure, he had known deep down that they all kept in contact with her. She was like everyone's little sister. He didn't expect them to just drop out of her life, or her theirs. She'd known all but Nicholas longer than he'd known them, anyway. That didn't stop him from feeling a little hurt by them keeping it from him for so long, though. They could have been honest with him. He knew he had fucked up. He had known the second he let another woman hang all over him that night. Knew as soon as he followed her out the door instead of going straight home to the woman that had moved all the way across the country with him. Bought a house with him.
The door opened and his breath caught in his throat, his heart beginning to hammer in his chest. Palms sweaty he looked up, leg starting to bounce anxiously. There she stood, Jolly wrapping her up in a tight hug. Time seemed to stand still as she turned towards him, her impossibly blue eyes locking on his. No anger. No hatred. Not even a hint of an emotion in them. Just blank. Fuck.
***
Noah shifted uncomfortably, trying his best not to stare at her. Everyone was gathered in the backyard, a fire in the pit, sharing stories of Danny. All evening he had avoided being near her, though everything in him begged to touch her. It was enough to slowly drive him insane. All he wanted was to sit next to her. Hold her hand. Shit, just hold her. To hear her say his name again. But he couldn't do that anymore. He had given up that right.
Lilith's laugh filtered through everything else, and he was sure he was going to pass out right there where he sat, directly across the fire from her. Instead he took a sip of his water, if for nothing else other than a distraction.
"Noah, you have to finish telling them. I can't." Lilith interrupted his thoughts, her laughter echoing in his head. She spoke to him? Said his name? Oh, fuck.
"Jolly asked how she got the Thumbelina nickname," Nicholas whispered, knowing he had been too caught up in his head to know.
Noah smirked, remembering Danny telling him about this story on the phone that day.
"Danny stopped by when we were on tour to check in on her, like I had asked. Apparently she was too caught up in planting those flowers right back there," he gestured towards the flower bush she had planted all those years ago. "And when he said hi she threw one of the bushes at him, thinking he was an intruder." Noah couldn't help but join her in her laughter at the memory. "Danny dubbed her Thumbelina from that moment on."
Noah met her eyes from across the fire as they laughed together, and suddenly everything felt somewhat okay. There was joy back in her eyes, etched across her face. Her smile took over her face, breathing life back into her. He may not be the cause of it, but it was a sight he thought he'd never see again.
"Wait. I thought Noah gave you that nickname. Who started calling you Bambi?" Jolly interjected.
Noah choked on his water, sputtering at the nickname he had always called her. That was one of his favorite memories, though rather private. And not a story he was keen on telling without her permission. The way she had insisted that she didn't need him to help her up after the first time they'd had sex. How she had stumbled and flipped him off the second he said "You sure about that, Bambi?"
Lilith laughed. A full on genuine laugh that came from her toes. God, he had missed that sound. He had missed the way she never held back her true laugh. The way she laughed with every fiber of her being.
Jolly looked between the two of them, her unable to control her laughter, him hiding his face the best he could. Noah watched as realization set into his friends features, and quickly avoided eye contact with him.
"Awe, man! What the fuck?"
Noah couldn't hold back his own laughter anymore, joining Lilith. Jesus Christ, he had missed this. Missed her.

Stranger Therapy
Eddie Munson x Steve Harrington
Summary: Based on this text post, Steve and Eddie match on Tinder and decide to go to couple's counseling on a first date to see how long it takes the therapist (Murray) to figure them out. Link to Ao3
Word Count: 3K, check out part 2 part 3 part 4 and epilogue!
Warnings: Nothing too serious, Steve/Eddie went to high school together but don't know each other, modern day AU, aged up, brief Robin cameo, Matchmaker Murray, and my fav tag of all - gay scheming!
A/N: I'm a counselor in training currently but I don't specialize in couple's counseling so this may or may not be accurate? Idk man it's just fun and silly I love our stupid boys sm. Original post by @hxneyfarms
Tumblr media
It’s a match!
“Robin, it worked!” Steve shouted from the couch. She ran from the kitchen and joined him, peering over to stare at his screen.
“I told you it would! It’s funny!” she insisted. Steve rolled his eyes and anxiously pulled up the profile of his new match.
“Oh, shit,” Steve said. “I remember swiping right on this guy. Didn’t think I had a shot.” He looked through the pictures. They were all candids, slightly blurry, or shots of him with his friends, but due to his distinguished look it was easy to pick him out even in a crowd.
“Show me his bio,” Robin ordered. Steve closed out the pictures and scrolled until the bio was in full view.
Eddie, 25. Shit at bios.
“Well that’s kind of boring,” Steve said.
“Yeah. You think he’s a bot?” Robin asked.
“Or a catfish, maybe,” Steve mused. “Either way, I still think I should take your joke down. I don’t talk like that in real life, and people might get confused.”
Robin had convinced him earlier to change his bio and replace it with - let’s go to couple’s counseling and see how long it takes the therapist to realize we don’t know each other. Steve had been a little tipsy when he agreed, and he assumed nothing would come of it. But then, Eddie matched with him.
“You’re thinking way too hard about this, Dingus,” Robin replied. “People write weird shit in their Tinder bios all the time.”
“Eddie didn’t,” Steve countered.
“Yeah, but look at him,” Robin responded. “He’s distinctive. It’s attention-grabbing in itself.”
“And I’m not?” Steve asked. Robin chuckled.
“You’re the kind of pretty where if you don’t have something witty in the bio, people will think you’re just some ignorant surface-level airhead who’s never worked a day in his life, and that’s not cute.”
“Okay, ouch,” Steve said.
“It’s a compliment!” she insisted. “Like, you need to show that you’re witty and funny and able to poke fun at yourself, otherwise you’re going to attract the wrong kind of people.”
“And this guy’s the right kind, huh?” Steve opened one of the pictures back up - one where Eddie was passed out on the couch with a beer still in his hand. As they looked at the screen, a notification popped up. Eddie sent you a message.
“Let’s find out,” Robin said.
-
Eddie: If your bio is serious, I’m in
Steve: Wait, really?
Eddie: Yeah xD sounds fun
Eddie: You got a therapist in mind?
Steve: Honestly didn’t think I’d get this far
Eddie: Boo.
Eddie: You’re lucky I know just the guy
Steve: Okay…
Steve: So how do we do this?
Eddie: Dude, it was YOUR idea
Steve: Ok but I’ve never done it before!
Eddie: Steve! I’m your first? <3
Steve: Yeah, yeah. I’ve never pranked a therapist before.
Eddie: I hope you’re either rich or have really good insurance. Otherwise this is gonna be an expensive first date.
Steve: I got it covered.
Eddie: I figured you did. I’ll call the guy in the morning and get back to you with the appointment time.
Steve: Okay. How’s your night going by the way?
Eddie: Nope!
Eddie: That’s not part of the deal, Steve. We go into this blind or not at all.
Steve: This is insane.
Eddie: Once again, your idea. I’m excited. Are you excited?
Steve: Thrilled.
Steve: I’m still concerned about how you know the perfect guy for this.
Eddie: 😛
Eddie: Don’t worry about it.
-
“I don’t even think he’s serious,” Steve said after he recounted the entire interaction to Robin.
“I don’t know, Steve. Sounds serious to me.”
“What if he’s like - not right in the head?” Steve wondered, reading the interaction over and over again. “Like, who is this therapist and why does he know him? Is he actually going to make an appointment? What if this whole thing crashes and burns?”
“I honestly think he plans on it crashing and burning,” Robin replied. “And then after, the both of you either hit it off and laugh about it forever, or you have an amazing failed date story to tell your friends until the end of time.”
“That’s…actually genius.”
“I know.”
Steve read the messages one last time, focusing on the bits where Eddie was mildly flirtatious. Steve! I’m your first? He could tell if Eddie was being condescending, or what vibe he was going to bring to this absolute insane first date. But, as Robin said, it would be a story no matter what.
He tried to focus on that and not the anxiety that started brewing in his veins.
-
The appointment was set for two weeks later. Eddie still refused to talk to Steve other than for details on where to go and at what time, so for the whole fourteen days, Steve assumed he was being pranked right back. Eddie was messing with him, or he’d cancel, or Dr. Bauman didn’t actually exist, or he’d be murdered, or, or, or -
None of that happened. Instead, on a Tuesday afternoon, Steve pulled up to an office building about fifteen minutes from his apartment. He’d passed by it several times and never once wondered what went on inside.
Apparently, really weird first dates.
They had decided to meet up in the parking lot and walk in together. The whole thing was crazy, but having one of them pick the other up so they could drive in together was way over what was needed to commit to the bit.
Steve got there first. They needed to be fifteen minutes early to fill out paperwork. It was twenty minutes prior to their appointment time.
This was weird. It felt a lot different than all the times he’d met someone for coffee. In another world, that’s how he and Eddie would have met. But no. He had to agree to this stupid thing, and now he was too far into it to back out. Jesus Christ.
Eddie’s car pulled in a few spaces down. Steve knew it was him from the hair alone - unmistakable. He got out of his car and walked towards his date, his palms sweaty. Eddie got out of his car a moment later, eyeing Steve as he approached him and smirking.
“What gave me away?” Eddie asked.
“You think I wouldn’t recognize my boyfriend?” Steve snapped back, pleased at the way he was able to take Eddie off guard.
“Touche. Well, come on, then. Let’s do this.”
-
Before they knew it, they were sitting in a cramped waiting room, alone, filling out paperwork. It consisted of insurance information first, followed by names and some quick background questions about the “couple.” Steve began filling it out, thankful that he was still on his dad’s fancy rich-person insurance. It covered basically everything, even fucked-up couples fraud with Dr. Bauman.
“Are you not worried I’m gonna, like, steal your information or something?” Eddie asked as Steve wrote down his policy number.
“I mean…should I be?” Steve responded.
“No,” Eddie answered with a shrug. “I gotta say, though, you’re way more trusting than I am. It’s ballsy. I like it.”
“Uhh…” Steve was trying to concentrate on the paperwork, but the compliment was throwing him off. “Thank you, I think.” He continued filling out the paperwork.
“You’re from Hawkins?” he asked. Steve nodded, absentmindedly. “I’m from Hawkins.” This caught Steve’s attention.
“No shit.”
“Yeah, seriously.”
“Small world,” Steve replied before turning his attention back to the form.
“You have a cute middle name,” Eddie teased.
“Shut up,” Steve responded. He wanted to find Eddie’s pestering annoying, but instead he found himself smirking, even giggling a little bit. This whole thing was so ridiculous. He shoved the clipboard onto Eddie’s lap. “Your turn, lover.”
“Euch,” Eddie groaned. “That is not one of our pet names, no way.”
“Noted,” Steve chuckled. He was…kind of enjoying this way more than he expected, as weird as it was. He’d grown accustomed to a lot of even stranger things in his life, so this didn’t feel as shocking as he’d initially thought.
“Don’t look,” Eddie said as he covered the paper.
“What? Why not?” Steve asked, confused.
“Because not all of us are as blindly trusting, Steven,” Eddie responded. Steve shook his head and looked away.
“Good thing we’re in therapy to work that shit out, Edward Munson.”
“You looked!” Eddie exclaimed.
“It was right in front of me!” Steve pointed out.
“Fair enough,” Eddie sighed. “Okay, now we gotta put down a reason for doing this.”
-
Fast forward ten minutes, Eddie and Steve were seated next to each other on a relatively small but cozy burnt orange couch. The color was ugly, but the seats were comfortable. Steve noticed the cushions had a natural dip that kept inching him closer to the person sitting on the opposite side. He figured this was certainly intentional.
The doctor sat in front of them, reviewing the papers the pair had just filled out.
“Hello, my name is Dr. Bauman, and one day I may let you call me Murray,” he began, his eyes fixed on the papers in front of him. “I see here on your sheet that you’ve been feeling distant from each other, and that you’re looking to feel more connected, right? Can you tell me more about that?”
“We’re just launching right into it, huh?” Eddie asked.
“Well, we are on a time crunch here. Your decision how you spend it,” Dr. Bauman answered.
The man was immediately intimidating.
“Ooookay,” Steve said, taking a deep breath. “Yeah, I guess it just feels like - like he and I don’t even know each other anymore.” Eddie stifled a laugh, covering his mouth with his hand to make it seem like he was maybe getting emotional or perhaps trying not to sneeze.
“I see,” Dr. Bauman said, eyeing them both suspiciously. “Let’s begin with how you two met and we’ll go from there, okay?”
“We were high school sweethearts,” Eddie replied with a grin.
“Wow,” Dr. Bauman commented. “Well, it’s common for a lot of development to happen from then to now. How did you two get together?” Eddie looked to Steve, as if to say, you’re up.
“It just kinda…happened, I guess,” Steve began. “We were assigned as partners for a project and really clicked.”
“Yeah, and then we snuck around for a while. Sneaking kisses in janitor's closets and empty classrooms, you know the drill.” Steve tried not to blush at the thought of sneaking around with high school Eddie. If they were both from Hawkins, did they actually go to high school together?
“Snuck around for the thrill?” Dr. Bauman asked.
“No,” Steve responded. “I wasn’t out yet.” Eddie looked at him curiously, as if he wasn’t expecting Steve to say something so serious. He wondered if it was actually true.
“Well, that and -” Eddie added. “- he was a popular jock and I was kind of a freak.” This time, Steve looked at Eddie curiously. Steve was a popular jock. Eddie could have assumed that, or made a lucky guess, but something told him that wasn’t the case.
Eddie Munson. Munson.
Oh.
Oh!
It took Steve a minute to recover from that information. They did in fact go to school together, they just had never interacted. Eddie obviously remembered, and he obviously knew that Steve didn’t. So what was the goal here? Was Steve being punked or something just so Eddie could get free therapy?
“Steve, you look a little pale there,” Dr. Bauman noticed. “Did that trigger something?”
“Yeah -” Steve croaked, now unable to look at Eddie. If he had, he would have noticed Eddie didn’t look as smug as Steve assumed he was. “Yeah, I just don’t think about high school that much anymore.”
“Why not?” the doctor asked.
“Because, I - I’ve changed so much since then. I’m not that guy anymore, and I don’t want to be that guy.”
“Ah, I see,” he hummed. “So, Eddie fell for someone who no longer exists. I think I’m understanding the problem here. Eddie, do you feel that you’ve changed?”
Damn. This guy’s kinda good.
“Uhhh -” Eddie began. Neither of them expected this to get so serious so quickly. It didn’t even feel like it was about their imagined relationship anymore. “N-no, I don’t think I have.”
“And Steve, do you think Eddie has changed?”
Steve thought about the limited memories he had of Eddie in high school. Cocky, slightly unhinged, just as he was now. But there was something different, he just couldn’t really pinpoint what. Maybe if he’d talked to Eddie for longer than like ten minutes total in his life, he’d have a better idea.
Then, he realized the point of this wasn’t to be serious. It was to make shit up. Steve pivoted back to the original plan.
“Yeah, I mean -” He shifted in his seat, finding himself now thigh to thigh with Eddie, despite not meaning to be. “He’s, uh - it just feels like we don’t have anything in common anymore?” It was something he’d heard lots of couples say.
“Do you want to make this work?” Dr. Bauman asked.
“Why else would we be here?” Eddie answered. Dr. Bauman narrowed his eyes.
“You tell me.”
Eddie and Steve were kind of not good at this. Their story was based in truth and not very exciting. They both seemed to realize this at the same time.
“Steve slept with the dogwalker,” Eddie proclaimed. Steve scoffed, half-amused, half-offended.
“Yeah, well you sold drugs to my mom!” he shot back. The two guys looked at each other, pretending to look angry while simultaneously wanting to laugh.
“Woooah, there,” Dr. Bauman responded. “Now we’re getting somewhere. Do we want to begin with Steve’s infidelity or Eddie’s illegal activity?”
“That’s not gonna, like, go on record or anything, right?” Steve asked, suddenly anxious. “Like, the cops aren’t gonna show up at Eddie’s door?”
“Our door, babe,” Eddie clarified, not the least bit nervous.
“Depends on how long ago this happened, I suppose,” Dr. Bauman answered.
“Long time ago,” Eddie said.
“Are you still currently dealing?”
“No, I don’t even do drugs anymore. Well, like, except pot - but that’s legal now so it doesn’t really count, I think.”
“Dude,” Steve whispered.
“You brought it up,” Eddie replied just as softly.
“Right,” Dr. Bauman responded, taking it all in. “No report needed, then. Let’s move onto the dogwalker.”
They continued to add to their lore as the appointment went on. At one point, Eddie even faked tears. His acting was…decent enough to avoid suspicion, thankfully. When the clock hit 1:45, their time was up, and they’d successfully managed to fool Dr. Bauman. Mission accomplished, date over. Right?
“Well, thank you so much, Dr. Bauman,” Eddie said. “I think you’ve really helped us out today.”
“Yeah, seriously,” Steve said, smiling. “We feel so much better.”
“Now hold on a minute,” Dr. Bauman said with his hands up. “There’s still a lot of work to be done, in my professional opinion.”
“There is?” Eddie asked, confused.
“Oh, definitely. Most couples go to a minimum of four sessions, and that’s still a low average. Plus, this was only intake. I mean, unless you guys weren’t happy with the counseling I gave you today…”
It felt like a challenge, and Eddie loved challenges. Meanwhile, Steve was too awkward to come clean or tell the doctor they weren’t interested.
They made another appointment.
-
“Well, that went pretty well, I think,” Eddie said as they left the building.
“You knew me already?” Steve asked once they were a safe enough distance from the office and Dr. Bauman. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I just knew your name and face, man. And, like, your vibe,” Eddie answered. “Back in high school, anyway.”
“You should have told me,” Steve said.
“You should have remembered,” Eddie shot back. “Whatever, it was fun. Right?”
“Eddie, I have no idea what that was,” Steve replied. “We have to cancel that appointment.”
“Why? You don’t want to see me again?” Eddie grinned. Steve rolled his eyes.
“No, I - I mean, I don’t want to waste his time. That spot should go to other couples who need it. Meanwhile, we could go get coffee like normal adults.”
“I dunno,” Eddie said, kicking a pebble in the road as they walked. “I kinda liked it. You can’t tell me you didn’t.”
It was true. Steve couldn’t say that he didn’t.
“Doesn’t matter.” Steve unlocked his car and made his way to the door. “We’re canceling.”
“He’s the one that wanted to see us again, Steve,” Eddie reminded him.
“Yeah, because he thought we were an actual couple.” Steve was getting frustrated at Eddie’s antics, and the way he refused to back down. “I don’t know if this is gonna work, man. This has been, uh - well, it’s been weird, but I think -”
“We have to go, otherwise you’ll be charged a cancellation fee,” Eddie blurted out. It was a lie, a bold-faced lie, and yet -
“So, I’ll pay the fee. Can’t be more than the cost of a full session,” Steve figured.
“Ugh!” Eddie groaned in frustration. “Okay, fine. Look - I’m annoying as hell, I’m a mess, I’m broke, and I could never afford someone like Dr. Bauman. I don’t know about you, but some of the things he said actually made me think and I kind of want to ask him about, like, real shit.”
Steve stared at him blankly for a minute.
“You - you want me to keep going to fake couple’s counseling with you so you can get actual therapy?” Steve asked, stunned.
“I mean, you could work your shit out, too,” Eddie suggested.
“What shit? I don’t have shit,” Steve insisted.
“Of course you do! Everyone does!” Eddie yelled.
“You’re insane,” Steve muttered. The thing was, he wasn’t saying it out of anger. He was saying it in understanding.
Because the thing was, Eddie had a point. Dr. Bauman was good at what he did, and Steve knew he’d never sign up for individual counseling. He already had the appointment. Eddie smirked.
“You’re with me, aren’t you?”
Fuck.
“Fine,” Steve agreed.

Tristin Dugray lore hcs
wc: 1k
warnings: mentions of broken/dysfunctional families, tristin's siblings both have drug problems, mentions of sexism and abortion (v briefly), mentions of cheating (also v briefly), tristin is not super close with his siblings, brief mention of DUIs (not tristin), I think that's it??
summary: lore on Tristin's family whipped up in my little plastic play kitchen by yours truly lol
a/n: I MISS HIM!!!! I SAW SOME GIFS THAT MADE ME SALIVATE!!!!! also!! in case it wasn't obvious the Dugray family is based on the real life Dupont family, just like how the Huntzbergers are based on the Sulzbergers
song recs: family jewels - Marina (ouch!), be here - palaye royale, everything is romantic - charli xcx
Tumblr media
The Dugray family have made their fortune as far back as the American revolution, starting with immigrating to America and manufacturing gunpowder for the American soldiers
This eventually led to the Dugray family owning one of the largest and most established chemical manufacturing corporations in America, DuGray
They invented a number of household names like pyrex, teflon, styrofoam, and even superglue, and also make ppe for people who work with or around chemicals
A while back, they also acquired two bank chains on the east coast, one of which is for east coast businesses, and the other is expanding slowly across america.
The Dugray family’s net worth is roughly 18.6 billion. I know.
Also, the Huntzberger family’s net worth is roughly 21.7 billion. I know.
Tristin mentions at one point that he has a “matching set” of baggage with Paris, and we know Paris’s parents are not at all close to her, or each other
We also know that her father is the head of a pharmaceutical company, and when her parents divorced it was in the newspaper
So yikes!
Anyway the only family mentioned by name is Janlon Dugrey, his paternal grandfather (I’m assuming if Janlon was his mom’s dad he would have a different last name yk)
So OBVIOUSLY I had to flesh things out a little
Looking at this family tree I made a while ago, Tristin has two older siblings: his oldest brother Royce, and his older sister and middle sibling Sutton
They’re both a bit older than Tristin, since his mom is their dad’s second wife
Truett DuGrey married Helena Holshire and had Royce, then Sutton
They divorced when Royce was around 7 and Sutton was almost 5 because Helena suspected Truett of cheating, and Truett suspected Helena of being a gold digger
Both were true
A couple years later, Truett is introduced to Blythe Ross while working on publicity for the banks his family as acquired
Blythe and Truett didn’t necessarily get along, but she could handle him better than most other women he’s met
They were actually introduced through Mitchum Huntzberger and his wife Shira, because Shira and Blythe are sisters
Surprise!
So Blythe gets pregnant and Truett can feel another Helena gold digger situation coming
That’s when Blythe tells him she can’t go to his work event because she has to go to a clinic
Truett stops in his tracks and realizes three things at the same time
Blythe is not in fact using a pregnancy to try and get access to his money
He loves his son Royce as much as he’s able to, but he’s already becoming apathetic and Truett can’t pass over the family business to someone with no drive or ambition
Royce is 10 by the way
Lastly, he realizes that this might actually be beneficial to him
So he convinces Blythe not to get an abortion and to elope instead
Once she gets her body back after the baby they’ll stage some wedding photos and claim it was from a little over a year ago so no one knows he had the baby out of wedlock
When she’s 18 weeks along, he schedules a private ultrasound to find out the baby’s gender
He tells her that if it’s a boy, everything will be fine
If it’s a girl, he’ll serve her annulment papers and nice fat alimony and child support checks to keep both of them out of his life
Blythe isn’t sure if she’s relieved or not when the doctors announce they’re going to be having a healthy baby boy, but Truett sure is
So he grows up watching his burnt out older brother and back bone of the family older sister navigate middle school and high school when he’s barely starting kindergarten
They don’t have any harsh feelings toward Tristin
Not really
They were just never that close yk
It’s like the pilot of umbrella academy, “we only see each other at weddings and funerals”
Except really, they only see each other when Truett forces them into whatever is going on with the family business, or to bail each other out of trouble
Royce is just waiting for his trust fund to kick in so he can fuck off and smoke weed in peace
Sutton is desperately trying to keep her image and life together while hiding her nicotine dependency and steadily growing pill problem from the public eye
And Tristin just wants to fucking feel something
His mom has been in and out of “med spas” and “wellness retreats” for so long he wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t recognize him, and the only time he and his dad talk is when he’s making charges go away
Sutton is engaged to this guy Clint
And he’s fine or whatever, Tristin hasn’t really talked to him much before
But he’s keeping his ear to the ground to make sure he treats his sister right
Sure Sutton can be condescending and a total control freak and act more like a mom than his actual mom
But she’s still his sister
So Sutton’s been off planning this huge wedding and trying to start some lifestyle brand for luxury dog beds and organic phone cases or something
Royce barely managed to keep his latest DUI for driving stoned under wraps but Truett still found out and sent him off to rehab
So Tristin starts high school at Chilton feeling almost lonelier than ever
Tristin aches for consistency, for stability
Thanks to Duncan and Bowman he sort of has that
And people like Paris that he’s literally been in school with since he can remember
It’s not that they’re particularly close, but he just likes that she’s always around when he’s going to and from class
There’s a few other people like that too, loose acquaintances that haven’t dropped out or transferred
They make him feel like even if everything else has gone to shit, he still has his winning personality
And he still has Chilton

All My Roads Lead Back to You Part 2
We get to see a little bit more about the work Dustin and Steve do and Steve gets the shock of his life.
Part 1
***
Steve loved his job and getting to work with his best friend made it all the more awesome. Thankfully his Platonic soulmate wasn’t around to hear him say that.
But she was coming to visit this weekend and that was always made for a great time.
He stopped by the development team to say hi.
“Dusty!” he greeted warmly. “Hey, man! What’s up?”
Dustin gave him a hug. “Hey! I didn’t know you’d be in today. How’s my favorite god daughter?”
Steve laughed. “Don’t let Lily Byers hear you say that.”
Dustin rolled his eyes. “Well considering she’s in China with her badass parents at the moment, she’ll never know.”
Steve batted his eyelashes at innocently.
“Right, Steve?” Dustin asked. “She’ll never know, because you won’t tell her, right?”
Steve held out for two seconds longer. “Of course not. Her mother still carries that Russian pistol of hers. I’m not about to start beef between the two girls.”
Dustin just shook his head. “I always thought it was interesting that the only ones of our Party to have girls was you and Nancy and Jonathan.”
“As Max would say, ‘too many boys’,” Steve agreed. “Like she didn’t have three of her own.”
“All tall with red hair and freckles,” Dustin said.
“My daughter is doing just fine,” Steve murmured. “She’s finally found a replacement for Lauren in her band.”
Dustin smiled. “That’s great. They come up with a name yet?”
Steve shook his head. “Nope. I think right now they’ve been calling themselves The Band.”
“Ouch.”
“So the real reason for this visit is...” Steve said, shifting his weight from one foot to the other nervously, “I was wondering if you had ear plugs I could use for their practice. I know I can just turn off my aid, but that does jack shit for my right ear.”
Dustin laughed. “Yeah, man. I’ve got you covered.” He went over to the design table and picked up a small grey box. He turned and handed it to Steve.
“They’re smooth with a flared base so they’ll slot gently into the canal,” Dustin explained. “You’d have to take out your aid or you just use the one. It’s up to you.”
Steve weighed them appreciatively. “Thanks, Dusty.”
“No problem,” he said with a grin. “I can’t imagine having to listen to a bunch of teenagers playing their instruments badly for a couple of hours.”
Steve grimaced. “What’s worse is that they haven’t figured out their style yet, so it’s a discordant mess of genres.”
Dustin made a face. “That’s rough, man.”
“How are you and Suzie getting along these days?” Steve asked gently.
Dustin sighed. “It’s official, she can’t have kids.”
Steve winced. “Even with in vitro?
“Yeah,” he replied mournfully. “We’re thinking adopting next.”
Steve nodded. “Let me know if you guys need anything right?” He squeezed Dustin’s arm in sympathy.
Dustin nodded.
Steve said goodbye and got back to work. He put the ear plugs in his briefcase so he wouldn’t forget to take them home. He shook his head. All his life he fought hard against being a business man like his dad. But it turns out that he’s good at it. Damn good at it.
He signed good morning to his receptionist, Vanessa.
“Good morning, sir,” she said, her voice a little off, the way it can some times get when you can’t hear yourself. “You have your ten o’clock appointment in fifteen minutes, but your lunch meeting canceled. Death in the family.”
Steve sighed. He signed back, “Send flowers and condolences and see if they want to reschedule. We need their micro chips.”
Vanessa saluted smartly and Steve flipped her off. He walked into his office and flopped into his chair with a sigh. He loved Vanessa. She had been with him since he went public with his hearing loss.
They had a great professional relationship and her husband, Nick loved Steve, too. He would tease her that he love Steve more than her and swore that he got Steve if they ever divorced.
Nick was hearing but his parents weren’t and that’s why Nick was Steve’s personal sign interpreter for his clients. Because Steve couldn’t be everywhere and he employed a lot of HOH and deaf people. Which he had gotten flak for when they first started. How would a deaf person be valuable to an audio company? And that was one of the reasons, Steve had come out as hard of hearing.
Because Steve was the reason S&D existed at all. As at the time he found out about his hearing loss, even the best hearing aids at the time were bulky, had a tinny quality to them, and were prohibitively expensive.
So of course big brained Dustin Henderson looked at them and said, “I could do better than that with a box of scraps in my mom’s basement.” And did. But the other thing Dustin was and still is, was mouthy. He couldn’t get investors to pay attention because he would end up getting mad and storm out.
Which is where Steve came in. He could sweet talk anyone. Was kinda famous for it, in fact.
There was a knock on his door and he looked over at the phone on his desk. It was flashing red. His appointment was here.
Steve stood up and greeted them with his most charming Harrington smile.
“Thank you for coming in today,” he said brightly. “Shall we get started?”
*
Steve got home from work to find Edith already home and doing her school work.
“Hey, sweetie,” he said kissing the top of her head. “How was school?”
“Hey, Dad,” she greeted. “It was okay. Algebra should be banned from schools forever.”
Steve got out a pitcher of water from the fridge and poured himself a glass. “Still having trouble with it?”
Edith sighed. “Yeah. It’s such a pain in the ass.”
“What did I tell you about swearing?” Steve asked with an eyebrow raised.
“Not until I’m an adult and not until I’ve moved out,” she grumbled. “Which ever comes last.”
Steve grinned. “Good girl. It’s more about trying to teach you that there are some places that won’t let you swear, like at certain places of business. And getting used to curbing your language will help with that.”
She sighed dramatically. “I know.”
He ruffled her hair and kissed the top of her head again. “Your band coming over tonight?”
“Yeah,” she said. “If that’s alright? I know you said only once a week but we need to make sure that garage will be okay to practice in.”
Steve laughed. “I’m aware.”
Edith rolled her eyes. “Like you know what being in a band is like.”
He swatted at her. “I know you think I live under a rock but I had friend that was in a band before I married your mother.”
She eyed him skeptically. “Are they famous?”
“No,” Steve said solemnly. “Their bus rolled over and killed their bassist before they got the chance.”
Edith’s eyes went wide. “You mean like Metallica?!”
That startled Steve out of his funk. “Yeah, like Metallica, only not. Because they decided that they couldn’t continue without their friend and hung it all up.”
“That’s too bad,” she said. “I’m not sure I would have been able to go on playing if Mandy or Kenny died.”
He nodded. “Just let me know if you guys need anything.”
“Will do!”
*
Steve could hear the band tuning their instruments and smiled. He paused. His face felt tight around his eyes and that wasn’t a good sign. He didn’t want a migraine at his little girl’s first band practice here at the house. That would be bad.
He took some Ibuprofen and hoped that would stave it off long enough until practice was over.
He then went out to the garage to say hi to everyone. He stopped at the bottom of the steps and his heart plummeted to his stomach. Standing there tuning a guitar Steve knew better than his own god damn name was a young man of about sixteen or seventeen with dark curly brown hair that fell about to his chin, big brown eyes and dimples in his cheeks.
“Dad!” Edith cried out. “Hey I want you to meet someone.”
Steve somehow managed to walk over to Edith’s friend. “Hey,” he greeted lamely.
He couldn’t remember if Dustin had said if Eddie had a kid. But this boy couldn’t be anyone else’s.
“H-man,” she said excitedly. “This is my dad, Steve Harrington.”
“Nice to meet you,” he said and Steve stomach dropped out further. His voice was almost the same, too.
“Dad, this is Harri Munson,” Edith said. “Mostly we call him H-man.”
Munson. There it was. There was no doubt now. This was Eddie Munson’s boy. The swooping feeling in his stomach became a roar.
“I met him in art class about a month ago,” she continued happily. “I learned he played guitar and I told him about our band and he was super excited to join. Which was great because after Lauren’s backstabbing–”
“Migraine,” he managed to croak to Edith before he dashed off.
Edith grimaced. “Sorry you had to see that. My dad gets migraines sometimes and I guess today is one of them. Poor bastard.”
Harri winced. “My papa used to get migraines, too. That sucks. Are we going to be able to still practice?”
Edith nodded. “Yeah, he said it would be fine. We just can’t turn up the sound to eleven.”
Harri laughed. “Gotcha.”
“You gonna need a ride home after?” Edith asked, not seeing a car.
“Nah,” Harri said. “My dad wants to meet your dad. Make sure I’m not going to get murdered or kidnapped or whatever.”
Edith rolled her eyes. “I know how that is. My dad is super protective too. Like I swear he went through major trauma he refuses to tell me about.”
Harri nodded. “Stupid NDAs is all Dad will say when I ask.”
“Yes! My dad, too!”
They both laughed.
The band started playing and about half way through they decided to stop and take a break.
Just then a car pulled up. It was slick black muscle car that made Mandy, the band’s resident gearhead whistle long and low.
“Who’s honey child is that?” she asked appreciatively.
Harri raised an eyebrow at her. “That’s my dad’s car.”
Edith frowned. “He’s not here to pick you up yet, right?”
Harri shook his head. “No, like I said he wanted to meet your dad.”
She nodded.

Wesper as parents, based on things my husband and I have actually said in real life: part 3 😄
Wylan: "What's your favourite animal, sweetie?"
Toddler: "Pig!"
Wylan: *looks at Jesper being covered in Dorito crumbs*
Wylan: "Yeah, I feel you."
________
Wylan: "I'm teaching our daughter the ABC!"
Jesper: "You barely know how to spell."
Wylan: "I meant the song, you dimwit. Also, rude."
________
Jesper: "Who do you think wears the pants in this household?"
Wylan: "Preferably neither of us, that's for sure."
________
Jesper: "Wylan, honey! Tell us who makes the best bird noises!"
*Jesper and toddler proceed to make ridiculously loud and obnoxious bird noises*
Wylan: "... Jesper, we're in a grocery store."
________
Toddler: "Issect!"
Wylan: "No, sweetheart, that's not an insect, it's a spider. Spiders have eight limbs, insects have six."
Jesper: "So do centaurs."
Wylan: "Please stop before I get the uncontrollable urge to lecture you on the Agipen, the six-legged dragon dog. We do not have the time for that right now."
________
Wylan: "OUCH F- bloody h- UTGHH OUCH!"
Jesper: "Do not kick papa in the nuts! Those are sacred, holy and one of my favourite parts of him. We need to keep them in a good state. Now, what do we say after we hurt somebody?"
Toddler: "Kissy make better?"
Wylan: "... N-no, thank you."
________
Jesper: "That's not a shark, it's a dolphin playing a trumpet."
Wylan: "Yeah? Well, your flamingo looks like a lamp post."
________
Jesper: "Being a neurodivergent parent is a lot like wearing glass pyjama pants."
Wylan: ".... Somehow that makes a lot of sense."
________
Wylan: "I really don't like her sweater, Jes."
Jesper: "Rude! I have an almost identical sweater."
Wylan: ".... Yeah, I know."

Wind in my hair | Oh Sehun x fem!Reader AU
Tumblr media
Summary: you're trying to study for your last exam but Sehun has other ideas. He uses his powers to distract you.
A/N: this is an EXO AU where Sehun has powers, as if he's some sort of alien. This is completely fictional, not based in real life.
Warning: nothing.
Also, English isn't my first language, sorry if there are mistakes and thanks for reading!
EXO Masterlist
Tumblr media
The soft wind moved the curtain in front of you, delicately brushing your arm in a tender caress. Without taking your eyes off your notes, you moved your arm and slapped the fabric away as you tried not to lose track of what you were studying. Only one more exam and you would be free, that’s what you repeated in your mind to keep yourself motivated.
Suddenly, the curtain hit you in the face, blinding you for a moment, all the previous tenderness of its movements gone. With a sigh, you pushed it aside and stared at the window to check if it was open. But no, it was still closed, just like you had left it before starting with your study session.
Then, you turned around in your chair and faced your boyfriend Sehun. He was lying on your bed, smiling at you. Clearly, he was having a great time as he messed with your patience.
“Stop it, Sehun. You’re not letting me study,” you complained.
He put a hand over his chest and feigned surprise. “Me?” he asked innocently, although he seemed to be fighting a smile back. “I’m not letting you study?”
You nodded.
It was him who had been moving the curtain all along, thanks to his wind controlling powers, whatever they were. You still didn’t fully understand the nature of his powers or his own existence, he came from another planet. So, technically, Sehun wasn’t human, and he wasn’t the only one.
You didn’t care about him being an alien, as you liked to call it. What worried you was the fact that he and the others were the good guys, at least in theory, but there were also bad ones. Sehun refused to talk about them and you tried not to think about it most of the time. More than once he had promised you that he would keep you safe and you trusted him, you knew that he could be really powerful.
It was a pity that right now he was using his power to piss you off.
“Sehun, I need to pass this exam.”
“And? What am I supposed to be doing?”
His faked innocence was starting to be replaced by a mischievous smile. It made you roll your eyes. Without any more words, you turned back to the desk and focused again on your notes.
“You know exactly what you’re doing,” you murmured after a while. “Just leave me alone for a couple hours, I’m not asking for anything more than that,” you said, resting your face on one hand.
He seemed to accept it, little did you know that he wasn’t going to stop that easily.
-
You had lost count of how many deep breaths you had been taking in order to stay calm. It was impossible to tell by now. You were quite proud of yourself though, considering that you hadn’t stabbed him with a pencil yet, with the constant wind ruffling your hair, blowing it into your face and moving your notes around, of course not allowing you to study.
With a deep sigh, you took the elastic band that you always wore on your wrist and tied your hair up in a messy bun. It didn’t solve the problem because then, the wind increased, causing your notes to fall all over the floor.
Sehun’s laugh could be heard behind you.
Since you were so fed up already, you grabbed the first pen that you could find and turned around fast, throwing it at Sehun’s head. The pen hit him in the face. Under normal circumstances, he would have been able to avoid it without any difficulty, he was an alien after all, but he was so distracted laughing at you that he didn’t move away in time. Well deserved, you thought.
He covered his face with his hands as he let out a soft cry. “Ouch,” he said, rolling onto his side.
After a few seconds, you got up and approached him. It wasn’t your intention to hurt him, you were just tired and frustrated.
“Sehun, let me see,” you murmured softly, sitting next to him on the bed. You placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to make him turn so you could see his face. “I didn’t mean to hit you hard but I have a really good aim, what can I do?” you joked.
He didn’t seem to find the joke funny. Instead, he made a sound that sounded like a hurt little puppy. This made you frown, what if you had hurt him for real?
"Sehun, take your hands away, let me see."
He removed his hands slowly but you couldn’t see anything because suddenly he moved so fast. Before you could realize, you were lying on the bed, with Sehun on top of you. A big smile was present on his face as his hands pressed your wrists against the mattress.
"You're an idiot, you know that? I was really worried."
Sehun laughed and brought his face closer to yours to kiss you but in the last moment you turned your face to the side, so his lips connected to your jaw instead of your mouth.
“What’s wrong?” He asked in a low voice, nuzzling your neck with the tip of his nose before starting to leave a trail of small kisses that made you shiver under him.
"Oh really? What’s wrong?" You asked back, mocking his words and raising an eyebrow as you looked at him. As much as you wanted him right now, you had other priorities. "Now is not the time. Let me finish studying and then we can do whatever we want, or continue this. Alright?”
He released your wrists but didn’t let you go, still laying on top of you, now resting his head on your chest where he could feel your heart beating fast. After a few minutes in which your breathing became one, you started stroking his hair. It felt very soft between your fingers and smelled like your favourite shampoo from the last time he showered at your place.
“You’ve been studying all day, I’m bored of waiting. You don’t let me talk, or make the slightest noise, or play video games, or listen to music…” he listed, mumbling.
You could feel the vibrations of his vocal chords against your chest, it was kind of calming.
“This exam is important to me, Sehun. Also, you can do all those things out of here, you don’t have to stay in the same room as me.”
He raised his head and looked at you with a frown. “But I want to be with you,” he confessed.
This time, when he leaned in searching for your mouth, you didn’t turn your face away. The kiss was long and slow, without rushing. When your lips parted, you took the opportunity to take Sehun’s face in your hands, stroking his cheekbones with your thumbs. He stared at you, mesmerised.
"An hour," you said. "That's all I need. Stop acting like a brat for an hour and when I'm done we'll do something together."
He seemed to hesitate, but finally he dropped to his side, freeing you from his weight. “Fine, an hour.”
You stood up from the bed, feeling cold without his warmth, and stared at the mess of notes scattered all over the floor with your hands on your hips. From the corner of your eye, you saw Sehun lying back on the bed with his hands behind his head and his legs crossed at the ankles. He looked as relaxed as always.
A gust of air made the papers move until they were arranged in a small pile at your feet. You bent down to pick them up and smiled at him. Sehun winked at you. He could be a pain in the ass sometimes but you couldn’t deny that since he came into your life nothing had been the same.
You loved him like no one else, and couldn’t help but dread the day he’d be gone. After all, he didn’t belong on this Earth.

1 character x 10 songs x 10 headcanons
Loki (MCU)
Tumblr media
Songs that I think they might be perfect for our fav God of Mischief because today is Tom's birthday! 🌿 I also leave the LOKI PLAYLIST I've created for him!
The End of the World - Celldweller
If I do, will I be exiled?
I can't base my actions on whether I'm loved or reviled.
Hard to pretend that I'm ok when my heart is breaking. […]
Sold on a dream of a future serene,
Then why does this feel like the end of the world?
Hopes in a dream are not what they seem,
And now it feels like the end of the world.
hc: The whole song has his vibes, the melody, the aesthetic, the words, the tone with which they are pronounced. Heartbreaking and full of hope. I can clearly hear the "The sun will shine on us again, I promise." quotes from it.
—————————
2. Fill the Void - Lily-Rose Depp & The Weeknd
Be my voice and I choose you to fill the void. […]
I choose you to fill my void.
I choose you to tell me, you to tell me,
I choose you to fill my void.
I speak my voice and I choose you to fill the void,
Tell me why, tell me why do I feel so free when I'm dead?
hc: Being chosen by him is already an immense honor and privilege, even more so If he considers you the missing piece to fill the eternal void in his chest. This duet is so strangely romantic.
—————————
3. The Apparition - Sleep Token
Why are you never real? Whenever you appear,
You leave me with that grace, I am trembling with fear.
But I know that you will disappear […]
Well, I believe that somewhere in the past,
Something was between you and I my dear,
And it remains with me to this day.
hc: Something has separated you two, and your memories have been erased (TVA vibes) but the feeling you have is so deep that crosses space and time, and although there is only dust remaining, you are always pulled in each other's direction.
—————————
4. GODDESS - Written by Wolves
You're like a goddess in disguise, I'm drowning slowly in your eyes
It's like you kill me by design, you're all I desire. […]
I'll do anything for you, my temptress, even if I'm innocent.
Kill to watch you undress,
Feel your body close pressed up, against mine
Heart beats, in time.
Feel your chest rise, you're all I desire.
hc: This song is pure devotion, he would do anything for you, you are his light, you're the only force that moves his actions and feelings.
—————————
5. Interlinked - Lonely Lies & GOLDKID$
hc: There are no lyrics, just music, but the romantic synth and the electronic base give this melody the right vibes to be the soundtrack to a film/series about Loki and his love interest. (hope to be me honestly)
—————————
6. Funeral Derangements - Ice Nine Kills
I'll see you on the other side.
But I'd kill to bring you back tonight,
Don't give up, don't let go,
I'll make this right. […]
They say that time heals all, but I won't heed the call.
Buried in misery.
Spare me the eulogy.
hc: Aggressive and desperate, in this version of the story, he lost you because of Thanos and he will do anything to bring you back to life, even challenging primordial forces such as Death itself.
—————————
7. Starlight - STARSET
Stardust, in you and in me.
Fuse us, into unity.
We're coupled, born from the universe.
The void is calling, don't fear.
It's ok, I promise. […]
Whenever stars go down and galaxies ignite.
I'll think of you each time they wash me in their light.
And I'll fall in love with you again, I will find you. […]
Don't leave me lost here forever,
I need your starlight and pull me through,
Bring me back to you.
hc: You are the one who loved the God of Stories, and this song is his dedication to you, his eternal love is engraved in these words.
—————————
8. Broken - Falling in Reverse
We are the broken, hoping for a change of heart.
We are the chosen, praying for a shooting star.
And even if the sky comes crashing down,
Even if the world was ending now,
We are the broken, but don't cry for me.
hc: Ouch, bad ending for you, there is nothing left to save, the Apocalypse will erase everything, and you two are embraced seeing the Sun fall on the Earth. He will hold you close until the last moment, until the true end.
—————————
9. VILLAIN - Neoni
Won't make amends, 'cause you did this, yeah
I'm the monster you invented. […]
All the king's horses and all the king's men.
Couldn't undo all the damage I did.
You call me mad but I make perfect sense.
If I can't be your hero, I'll be your villain.
hc: There's not much to say, If your romance happened during 2012, you would have a cruel God loving you, Avengers Loki has definitely his reasons and his charm.
—————————
10. KNIVES - Neoni
No heroes, no villains.
No sympathy, just venom. […]
No heroes, no villains.
Just do it for the thrill and,
Sharpen up your knives.
If you wanna make it through the night.
You better remember that you,
Can never trust nobody.
hc: Let's end with a bit of spice, I couldn't not mention this song, I would definitely associate knife kink to him. Can't change my mind.
That's all for now! Hope you enjoyed! Feel free to suggest more characters, when I'm done with my comfort characters I'll be delighted to please you with music about yours 🤍

Hyperfixation ended
My boyfriend has ADHD. He’s acknowledged that in the beginning he was hyper fixated on me and now that feeling has gone he’s confused and thinks we should break up He says he has love for me and is so sad that it didn’t work but ultimately that feeling of being in love isn’t there Now he’s saying he’s confused and that his ADHD is to blame Is jumping ship the wrong thing to do
Sent February 5, 2024
Ouch. I’m so sorry this is happening.
You can’t force him to stay. If he for sure wants to break up, then that’s what’s happening. I would say that it is probably partly due to his ADHD, but I suspect that it’s mainly due to his definition of “being in love”.
There is a conversation to be had, about what exactly “love” is and whether “that feeling of being in love” is actually necessary in order to have a good romantic partnership.
Before I get started, I will note that this isn’t specific to ADHD. Lots of people who don’t have ADHD seem to think that if you don’t have certain feelings all the time, then you’re not really “in love” and you should definitely break up. If you want to see what I think about this whole thing, keep reading. Otherwise, no worries.

Movies and media in general romanticize the process of meeting, falling in love, and getting together romantically. We don’t always see the couple years later, and a lot of the time if we do, the relationship is on the rocks and that’s the point of the story. Think about media that you really like that has actually healthy long-term romantic relationships. How much is there?
Even in children’s and YA stories that include parents who have been married for a long time, the relationships are often strained. And I know that it’s pretty realistic for young readers to have divorced parents, or parents who are only together “for the children”, but I also think it’s important to show examples of healthy relationships so that people whose parents don’t have a great track record still have somewhere to go to see how to handle disagreements and the like in a healthy fashion.
Like, sure, you get drama if the romantic relationship is on the verge of breaking up, but you can have other drama instead and have part of the story be how these people, who chose to be together, are facing adversity together.
In real life, things might start out with butterflies and nerves and giddy elation and yes, hyperfixation. But over time, those things are probably going to wane somewhat. That doesn’t mean the love is disappearing, it means the relationship is growing and changing, assuming you are getting to know each other better.
I know that everyone defines love a little differently. My base definition is that I want the best for those I love, and I try to show that in the way I relate to them. But I also love different people in different ways. My love for my parents is different from my love for my brothers is different from my love for my husband is different from my love for my friends is different from my love for my child is different from my love for my pets. (English is ridiculous this way. Why do we have just one word for all of these different things?!?)
I’ve been married for nearly 14 years, and we were together for two and a half before we got married. A lot of things between us are just comfortable at this point, partly because we know each other so well.
Love isn’t just something that happens, it’s something you choose. It’s what you’re choosing when you decide to stay during hard times. (Not abuse. Being abused isn’t “hard times” it’s being abused. That is not love.)
