ok so I'm pretty certain this has been brought up by many people since the release of s3 but how do Klaus's powers actually work? Do people turn to ghosts immediately after they die or is there some kind of process? Because if they become ghosts straight away wouldn't he have seen Jayme and Alphonso's ghosts after they die in ep3? On the other hand, if the dead only become ghosts when they have unfinished business, that still doesn't explain why the two don't haunt Klaus or the other Umbrellas.
I feel like they wouldn't be the type to get over getting brutally murdered by some randos that broke into their house and would take any opportunity to terrorise them. I get that the Sparrows are supposed to not really be a family so /maybe/ they didn't think their siblings would care that they died but we can literally see both Fei and Sloane get super upset that their siblings got murdered so they can't have not known how much the others care right?
I get why the writers didn't add ghost Jayme and Alphonso to Klaus's already very packed s3 storyline but I feel like some kind of explanation would've been nice. Maybe they could've tied it tp something to do with the Kugelblitz (is that how you spell it 😭)?

On the twelfth hour of the first day of October 1989, forty-three women around the world gave birth.
This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began.
Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.
He got seven. At first.
Then came Willow Hargreeves, whose mother could not provide the life she knew her child deserved and finally agreed to Reginald's terms.
So far, I have three chapters down in the first entry of the series (AKA the first three episodes of season one). Willow is the only OC to appear so far, but the others will be coming!

Five: You are the love of my life and I would do anything within reason to make you happy.
Delores: I would be happy if you ate, stayed hydrated and got a reasonable amount of sleep.
Five: I said within reason, Dolores. How about I murder that guy?
Delores: So murder is in reason but proper self care isn't?
Five: Well, duh. What kind of question is that?

The Unbearable Truth
pairing: Five Hargreeves x reader
warnings: angst with no happy ending, spoilers
notes: so i actually hated this storyline in the show but i also recognize angst potential when i see it so here’s this
summary: after getting lost in the subway system, Five comes to a grave realization
Tumblr media
Five Hargreeves doesn’t love you anymore, and you’re completely oblivious to the fact.
You’re in the kitchen of Lila’s home baking holiday treats with your niece while awaiting the arrival of the rest of your family to begin the festivities. You smell of cinnamon and pinecones, and for the first time in years you actually feel content and happy with where your life is now. Sure, there’s technically a looming apocalypse hanging over you right now, but it’s nothing you haven’t handled before. You’re actually part of a family now with a man who adores you, and it’s all you’ve ever wanted.
“Alright, Grace, would you like to do the honors of putting the gumdrop buttons on the gingerbread men while I check on the sugar cookies?”
“Yes, aunt y/n!” The girl exclaims cheerfully before immediately diving into the candy bowl. You laugh at her eagerness and turn towards the oven only to be met with the sight of Five in the kitchen doorway. He looks disheveled and unnerved, but you’re too engrossed in your own joy filled bubble to pick up on it right away and instead mistake him for being tired and overwhelmed with the situation surrounding Ben and Jennifer.
“Hey, you made it!” You say with a smile as you press a chaste kiss to his cheek before turning your attention to the sugar cookies. Five can only stand there stiffly as he clings onto the ghost of your lips against his skin. He had hoped that by seeing you again, by being in your presence and showered in your love for him, the feelings he once held for you would return.
But as he stands there in the middle of the kitchen watching you run about, he realizes that he feels absolutely nothing.
Initially, he had wanted nothing more than to return home to you and his siblings. Five had fought tooth and nail trying to figure out a way to get out of that damned subway system so he could have you in his arms again and tell you how much he missed you even if for you he had only been gone a couple hours. But a man could only take eating so many subway rats and being shot at so many times. He had grown tired, weary, and depressed. For a moment it seemed they’d be stuck there forever, and so he decided that maybe it was time to make the most of it.
What he didn’t expect was to fall in love with his brother’s wife.
A woman he had once hated with his entire being now was his sole companion, and whether it was due to some sick twist of fate or a moment of weakness, he had begun to look at her the way he once looked at you. With complete adoration and care as well as a fierce need to protect her and keep her safe. He knew the chances of ever seeing you again were highly unlikely, and the next logical step would be to move on. So he did.
But now here he is, back in his original timeline left to deal with the aftermath of his decisions.
In what was seven years for Five and three hours for you, the boy has fallen out of love with you. Your smile still may be as beautiful as ever and your scent of red berry plum and jasmine may be intoxicating to any other man, but he feels absolutely nothing when he looks at you. The spark is gone, and unbeknownst to you your relationship is about to fall apart.
“Where did you run off to?” You ask him after setting the freshly baked sugar cookies onto the cooling rack nearby.
“I had an… errand to run,” he utters carefully, growing stiff when you wrap your arms around his torso and rest your head upon his shoulder. Calculatingly, Five hesitantly rests a hand on your back while the other comes to comb his fingers through your hair. It’s a familiar motion that he is easily able to replicate in order to portray himself as the same doting partner you know and love. Lila had sworn him to secrecy, but he wasn’t sure just how to break it off with you without telling the truth. So for now he would go through the motions and hope to god you didn’t pick up on the fact that something was completely wrong.
“I’m happy you’re here,” you profess earnestly, peering up at him with fluttering lashes and a devoted smile. “I love you, Five.”
His chest tightens in agony at your words, his hold on you tightening in an attempt to ground himself as he harshly swallows down his discomfort. He meets your adoring gaze and smiles, carefully tilting your chin upwards to meet his lips in a tender kiss. It’s believable enough to keep you feeling secure and oblivious to his detachment, and he hopes that maybe if he keeps this up he can forget all about Lila and go back to normal.
Even if it means he’s just playing a part.
Pulling away, he meets your loving stare and offers you a small smile. Hesitating, as if he has to force the words out of him, Five murmurs out a quiet, “I love you, too.”
And you believe him.

Five adored you. He was completely infatuated, head over heels for you.
"I want you so badly it might kill me"
That's how he asked you out.
You could never do wrong in his eyes. You were a work of art in them. You were the Francoise Pilot to his Pablo Picasso.
He's even worse when he's drunk. Especially when there's no hope to save the world one last time. He's a touchy drunk around you, acting like a cartoon character with bubbles popping out of his lips when he burped.
He's a fool for you, even when he doesn't want to be.
But it's alright.
Tumblr media
man he just fell in love at first sight

"mama cut out houses of pictures for years, from better homes and garden magazines. plans were drawn and concrete poured, nail by nail, board by board, daddy gave life to mama's dream"
if you get it you get it
I live / grew up in rural PA don't ask ab the country music
cause you'd definitely listen to the soft country type of music when baking in the kitchen or picking strawberries in the greenhouse together

The Perfect Birthday
Five Hargreeves x reader
A/N: This little one shot is for @craftyangelpainter. I hope you had a great birthday, and I hope this puts a little smile on your face
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
It was a warm afternoon at Five and Y/n’s house, the living room festooned with balloons and streamers. Y/n’s birthday cake stood proudly on the table, a beautiful creation with intricate frosting, baked by Y/n herself because, as usual, she didn't want to burden anyone. Five had worked tirelessly to pull this day together, ensuring everything was perfect for his wife. But as the hours ticked by, the cracks in the celebration started to show.
The whole family had gathered at Five’s insistence, which had been no small feat. As much as they had been through together, getting all the Hargreeves siblings in the same room often felt like trying to contain a tornado in a jar. But for Y/n, Five was determined to make it happen. She deserved it.
Lila and Diego arrived with their three kids in tow, looking tired but managing some smiles for Y/n. However, it wasn’t long before Lila started mentioning their need to head home early. “We’ll have to leave soon,” she said, half-heartedly stirring her drink. “The kids have school tomorrow, and Diego and I are running on fumes.”
Five clenched his jaw. He understood, of course, but this was Y/n’s birthday—one day for his wife to feel celebrated by the people she had grown to care about.
Across the room, Klaus sat huddled on the couch, looking anxious. Without his powers, he had been jittery, afraid of everything from the weather to his own shadow. “I’ll be honest,” he said, his voice shaky as he glanced around nervously, “I’m just trying to keep my anxiety at bay. All this... mortality stuff is really getting to me.”
Ben sat at the far end of the table, scowling at nothing in particular. He poked at his food, clearly uninterested in engaging with anyone. “Can we get this over with?” he muttered. “I don’t even know why I bothered coming. I don’t like any of you.”
Allison, who had been on her phone for most of the gathering, finally piped up. “I really need to get back to Claire,” she said, glancing at the clock. “I promised her I wouldn’t be gone too long.”
Luther, ever the optimist, was the only one genuinely thrilled to be there. “Come on, guys, it’s Y/n’s birthday!” he exclaimed, trying to rally some enthusiasm. “Let’s at least try to make it a good time.”
Y/n, for her part, was putting on a brave face. She moved around the room, smiling, offering food, making sure everyone was comfortable. But Five could see the disappointment in her eyes. She had spent so much time thinking of others, doing everything she could to make his dysfunctional family feel welcome. And what did she get in return? Barely any effort.
As the evening wore on, Viktor stood up, slipping his jacket on quietly. “I need to head back to Canada,” he said, his voice soft but firm. “The bar isn’t going to run itself.”
That was the final straw for Five.
He slammed his drink down on the table, the sudden noise silencing the room. Everyone turned to look at him, surprised by the outburst. Five rarely lost his temper now, but when he did, it was impossible to ignore.
“Are you kidding me?” Five snapped, his voice sharp and filled with barely-contained fury. “You ungrateful assholes.”
Y/n’s eyes widened, and she instinctively reached out to touch his arm, but Five wasn’t done.
“Except Luther,” he added quickly, pointing at his taller brother, who looked caught between relief and awkwardness. “At least he’s trying. But the rest of you? Seriously? Do you even hear yourselves?”
Diego frowned, stepping forward. “What’s your problem, Five? We’re here, aren’t we?”
“Oh, you’re here, alright,” Five retorted. “Physically, maybe. But mentally? Emotionally? You couldn’t care less. Lila and Diego can’t stop talking about leaving, Allison’s glued to her phone like she has something better to do, and Klaus is too busy wallowing in his fear of death to even be present.”
“I have reasons for that!” Klaus interjected weakly, but Five ignored him.
“And Ben?” Five’s voice rose. “Ben can’t even pretend to care. He’s sitting there like we dragged him here against his will.”
Ben crossed his arms, glaring at Five. “I don’t need this,” he muttered, but even he didn’t try to walk away.
Five took a deep breath, trying to rein in his anger but failing miserably. “You know who’s done everything for you? Y/n. She’s always gone out of her way to help you, to make you feel like part of this family. She’s been more of a sibling to you than most of you have been to each other. And now, on her birthday, you can’t even pretend to celebrate her?”
The room was dead silent, the tension so thick it was almost suffocating.
“She bakes for you, she listens to your problems, she does everything she can to make this dysfunctional mess of a family feel like home. And what do you give her in return? Excuses. Half-assed effort. This?” Five gestured around the room, his frustration boiling over.
Y/n looked mortified, trying to tug at Five’s sleeve, her voice a soft plea. “Five, it’s fine—"
“It’s not fine, Y/n!” Five cut her off, his voice softer but no less intense. “It’s not fine. You deserve so much better than this.”
He turned back to his siblings, his green eyes blazing. “You know what? If you can’t even give her a few hours of your time to show her how much she means, then you can leave. Go back to whatever it is you think is more important than being here for her.”
There was a long pause. Lila and Diego exchanged guilty looks, while Klaus shuffled uncomfortably. Even Ben seemed to shrink a little under Five’s fierce gaze. Allison put her phone down, looking at Y/n with something close to shame in her eyes.
“I…” Viktor began, but then he sighed, taking off his jacket. “You’re right. I’m sorry, Y/n.”
Luther, ever the peacemaker, stepped forward, a warm smile on his face. “Let’s start over. We’ll stay as long as you want. It’s your day, Y/n.”
The others slowly nodded in agreement, clearly shaken by Five’s outburst. Lila gave Diego a small nudge, and he sighed, nodding. “Yeah, we’ll stay. Sorry, Y/n.”
Klaus, looking awkward but sincere, added, “I’ll, uh… try to be less scared of everything.”
Ben grumbled something under his breath but didn’t move to leave. Even Allison offered a small smile. “I’ll stay. For you, Y/n.”
Y/n, who had been standing quietly beside Five, finally spoke. “You really didn’t have to do that,” she said, looking at her husband with a mix of affection and exasperation. “But thank you.”
Five pulled her into a gentle embrace, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “You deserve it. You always do.”
And for the rest of the evening, the Hargreeves siblings did their best to make up for their earlier behavior. Laughter filled the room, stories were shared, and for the first time in a long while, it felt like a real family gathering. Five kept a protective arm around Y/n, making sure she knew just how much she meant to him.
As the night wound down, Y/n looked around at the scene and smiled. “You know,” she said quietly to Five, “it wasn’t the perfect birthday… but it’s pretty close.”
Five smirked, kissing her cheek. “I told you I’d make it happen.”
And in that moment, Y/n knew just how lucky she was to have Five, even in the chaos that surrounded their lives.

Hi! Could I request a Five hargreeves fluff of any kind, I just watched season 4 of umbrella academy and I wanted a litte Five fluff.☺️
(Here you go ! Hope you’ll like it ! 😁👍)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Five had been cooped up in his office for days—barely eating to survive as he desperately tried to find a way to save the world and his family. His head was overwhelmed and he hadn’t slept in more than 24 hours. He was exhausted, frustrated and angry at himself for not finding some answer or equation to make it all better. He stared at all the papers with all the notes and calculations he had written down. He stared at them and felt the anger bubbling up inside him…until it burst.
He suddenly screamed in rage and threw all the papers on his desk to the floor.
"Why can’t I get it ?! Why can’t I find anything ?!"
He slumped down on his chair and raked his fingers through his hair. He wanted to teleport away—far away. But he knew that no matter how far he went, he couldn’t escape. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling…How could he save the world when he couldn’t even find the answer to a simple equation. No matter how many times he replayed the multiple endings in his history, he couldn’t save the world without…
He closed his eyes and was on the verge of tears.
…without sacrificing one of his siblings.
He would have happily sacrificed himself but then, there would be no way to ensure results. To make sure the end of the world never came. He then thought about Sir Hargreeves. The old man who had decided to put them all in this tricky mess and bail on them. That…coward. He felt more anger and resentment towards the old man. Anger and resentment he wanted to get rid of by punching or killing somebody. He was about to do just that when he saw someone standing in his office.
Y/N.
What were you doing here ?
"Get out, Y/N. Now, is not the time." He tried to dismiss you, but you didn’t move. You simply took a few steps towards him—a box in your hands. He ignored the box and just started glaring at you.
"Didn’t you hear me ?! I said—!"
"I heard you." You replied and Five blinked twice in astonishment. He then sighed and forced himself to smile.
"Fine. What can I do for you, Y/N ?" He asked with a sarcastic grin on his face. You looked at him and could tell that something was wrong and instead of answering, you approached even closer and put the box of cookies on his desk. He frowned and took one before looking back up at you with a skeptical raised eyebrow.
"Really ? Cookies ?"
You smiled and shrugged.
"I needed someone to taste them. Make sure they are good."
Five rolled his eyes.
"Y/N. Your power is to heal people with your cooking. Of course it is good, you literally cannot bake ANYTHING bad."
You kept your smile and shrugged again.
"Who knows ? Maybe you will find the taste different this time ?"
He kept himself from rolling his eyes a second time and just took a bite—knowing that it was the only way for you to scurry off and leave him to his mumbling and brooding.
"See ? Like I said, perf—." He started, but suddenly paused.
He chewed. He paused. He chewed again.
He frowned a little before licking his lips—his brow furrowed in concentration. He took a second bite. A third.
Then, when the cookie was gone, he looked at you. He was obviously puzzled.
"This…wasn’t one of your healing cookies." He finally said.
You grinned and nodded.
"You’re right. I tried a new recipe. You like it ?"
Five stared at you before taking a second.
"It’s…fine. I guess…"
He took a third.
And a fourth.
And a fifth.
And in a matter of minutes, all the cookies were gone.
He stared at the empty box and his heart suddenly felt…lighter. He sighed contentedly and leaned back in his chair—his eyes slowly closing. It felt like the days of baited exhaustion were finally taking their toll on him. You smiled and covered him with a blanket.
You took the empty box…looks like the new recipe was a success.
You smiled to yourself. You were about to leave when you suddenly felt someone grab your arm from behind and before you knew it—the empty box was on the floor and Five had his arms around you.
"…Thank you." He mumbled sleepily.
You were momentarily stunned before smiling and turning around to hug Five back.
"No problem."
You then stayed in each other’s arms until you both fell asleep. You didn’t need words to calm down Five, you had only ever been kind and patient with him. You took care of each other and that was perhaps the reason he trusted you so much. Because he knew that whatever happened, you would be there to hold him and reassure him that everything would be alright.

The One That Got Away
word count: 4.3k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
February 1995
Becoming friends with Five was the best choice I made. Turns out that Five had siblings, so that means more friends.
The only thing that sucks is that they don’t go to the same school as I do. The first couple of months were boring and I couldn’t pay much attention in school.
So I ditched school. They didn’t go to public school, they were homeschooled. So I just waited on the rooftop, watching people walk by and their interactions. It was nice. Nice to slow down and just take everything in.
But sometimes it did get boring. So, they brought me things to keep me entertained. Books, games, a blanket to keep me warm, snacks… which I finished already. My stomach was growling which I was getting used to at this point, but I sure did feel drained and tired.
It was like Five read my mind because I soon heard the familiar ‘swoosh’ and a flash of blue. I turned to the sound, a smile immediately lighting up on my face. The smell of fresh baked cookies in one hand and a couple of sandwiches in the other hand.
“Five.” I greet him.
“I know that you’re hungry.” He says while sitting down next to me.
He hands me the plate of cookies and my mouth immediately waters at the thought of eating the fresh made cookies. I grab the warm cookie and stuff it in my mouth.
“Your mom makes the best cookies.” I say, a mouthful full of cookies.
“How lady-like.” Five mutters to himself while rolling his eyes. “Wat?” I say. “Ugh, nevermind.”
I laugh at him before going back to the cookies.
Suddenly, the door swings open and multiple footsteps come running towards us.
“Not fair! You can’t use your powers to get to her first!” Klaus says with a pout on his face.
“Not my fault you’re slow.” Five responded.
“Ooh, cookies. Mom’s cookies are so good.” Diego states reaching over and grabbing a cookie.
I pout slightly at the missing cookie. One less cookie for me.
“I made this too.” Five says handing me a sandwich.
“Ooh, Five made you his favorite snack.” Allison says with a smirk on her face. “Peanut butter and marshmallow.” Vanya states.
“Awweee someone has a crush.” Klaus sings songs.
“Shut up!” Five says while I take a bite from the sandwich, “ I do not!” My eyes widen at the fluffy texture and soft flavor. “Oh my gosh, this is so good.” I groan at how good it is, “you should make more for me.”
Five looks away from me while grumbling incoherent words.
The other boys continue to tease Five while the girls sit next to the other side of me.
“You know,” Allison bumps into my shoulder, “Five never makes any of us snacks.”
I look at her confused, not really sure what she means by this. “He should, it’s really good.”
Vanya laughs, “yeah.”
I finish the snacks that were given to me, and look at the sun setting.
I hum, placing down the plate and standing up. “I should get going, see you tomorrow?”
They all nod, some of them getting up to give me a hug.
“Bye Five! Thanks for the snacks!” I wave at him and he turns his head, muttering something I once again couldn’t understand.
His brothers start snickering.
I turn around, leaving the Hargreeves place, and flash back home.
“Oh, crud.” I mutter patting out a flame on the sleeve. I groan looking at the black soot now staining my clothes. “I got to be more careful.” I mutter while shaking my head. Knowing that my mom was going to fuss at me.
A black car in the driveway catches my attention, as I have never seen it before.
Maybe it’s one of mom’s friends.
Walking up to the front door, I swing it open to immediately see mom sitting in the living room with a man standing in the middle of the room.
He was tall, wearing all black with a monocle.. He was an older man, with white hair covering the top of his head, and one of those swirly mustaches and beard. A black briefcase laid by his polished shoes.
I smile as I enter the room, greeting the both of them. Something that my mother told me to always do since it is considered rude not to.
“Good evening, young lady.” The man says and mom just sighs.
“Did you think I would not notice?” Mom says to me. “Did you think I wouldn’t notice that you were skipping school?”
My stomach drops at her words, wondering how long she has known.
My lips form into a pout, “I’m sorry Mother.”
My mom just waves her hand, “whatever, it’s not my problem anymore.” She mutters, but I was still able to hear her.
I wonder what she means by that.
I tilt my head at her words. “This is Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Think of it as a sleepover at his estate. The one where you’ve been sneaking off to.”
I didn’t know how to feel at this moment. I felt excited to see my friends again, but at the same time a guilty feeling seeped into my bones. I knew what I was doing was wrong… but for some reason, mom wasn’t as upset as I thought she was going to be.
“Oh okay… for how long?”
“Just pack as much as you can.” Hargreeves says. I nod my head and go to my room to start packing.
I could hear mom and Hargreeves speaking but I couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying.
I grab most of my clothes that I think I’m going to need. I didn’t really have much since most of them keep burning nowadays. I’m about to leave my room, but I suddenly stop, running back in to grab the teddy bear off my bed.
A content smile is on my face as I leave my room.
Hargreeves was standing by the front door now. His hands crossed in front of him. I noticed that he wasn’t carrying the black briefcase from earlier. I looked over to my mom, seeing that it was right next to her.
“Bye mom… I love you.” I say while waving my hand.
She freezes, her lips forming into a pout.
Her fingers start fidgeting with the fabric of the couch. “Yeah… love you too.”
I turn back to Hargreeves, “okay. I’m ready.” I told him.
The both of us walk through the door, leaving the place that I call home behind.
If only I knew what I was getting myself into when I walked out that door with Reginald Hargreeves.
Tumblr media
“This will be your room.” Pogo says while opening the door for me.
I look straight at him, a talking chimpanzee, standing right infront of me.
I was already amazed because I have never seen a chimpanzee before. But to see a talking one almost blew my mind away.
“Thank you,” I whispered as I walked into the small room. It was a lot nicer than the one back home.
Well, is it my home?
Pogo, earlier had explained to me that this will be my new home. That Reginald Hargreeves has adopted me. Whatever that means.
The walls were a plain beige and the bed was pushed into the corner. The bedsheets were (f/c) with white pillows. The dressers were also white, pushed against the wall next to a window.
I walk to the dresser, placing my bag next to it and I look out the window. The view was facing the front of the building. I could see the sidewalk, the same one I used to walk on. The same one where I would stop and look at this building. Who would've thought that I would be looking out the very same window.
“Dinner will be served shortly.” Pogo says, breaking me out of my trance.
I turn my head to face him, giving him a polite smile, “thank you.” “Of course.” He nods his head before closing the door, leaving me to my own accord.
I take one last glance out the window before opening the drawers to put my clothes in.
I grab my teddy bear, putting it right in front of my pillow. Like it was resting there. Another door catches my eye. I walk towards it, wondering what it leads to.
Walking to the dark door, I place my hand on the cool doorknob, opening it to only see a uniform. I tilt my head, noticing that it was similar to the uniforms that my friends wear.
There was a long skirt, navy blue and red plaid. A long sleeved white shirt, a similar pattern sweater vest with a black tie.
“Ooh,” I marvel in the shiny black shoes.
“It’s not all that great.”
I let out a scream hearing the sudden voice in my room.
I spin around to see Five sitting on my bed with a smug look on his face. I take a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm my heart rate down.
“Ever heard of knocking?”
“I did. You just didn’t hear me.”
I scoff, closing the closet door.
“Didn’t know you scared easily.” I could hear the teasing tone in his voice. And even though I’ve known him for a year, I can tell that this was not going to be a good thing.
“Don’t even think about it.”
He holds his hands up in the air, like he was surrendering. “I wasn’t thinking of anything.” “Yeah, sure.” I say, totally convinced. Note the sarcasm.
“I came to tell you that dinner is ready.”
My eyes widened at his words, stomach grumbling right on time. “Why didn’t you say that first?!” He shrugs, “just slipped my mind.” “Liar.” I glare at him, walking towards the door to exit the room.
The both of us are now walking down the hallways, towards the ‘dining room’.
He grins at me, “You’re calling me a liar?” “Well I’m not calling you a truther.” “That’s not even a real word.”
“Children, you’re late for dinner.” I hear the authoritative voice interrupt us.
I look over to see Reginald Hargreeves frowning down at the both of us. Five mutters something before walking over to his seat and sitting down.
“Sorry Mr. Hargreeves.”
He hums before walking over to the dining table.
My eyes gaze over the table, noticing that the plates were already placed and ready. I make my way over to the table, sitting in between Klaus and Vanya. Five was sitting right across from me, and I shot him a smile.
“You know, you don’t have to call him Mr. Hargreeves.” Klaus whispers to me. I gave him a questioning look, “then what would I call him?” “You’re one of us now. So you can call him dad.”
I laugh a little, “why would I do that? He’s not my dad.”
Klaus snickers before sitting up straight again and eating his food.
I look down at my plate, stomach grumbling a little. The food looked nicely prepared and I honestly never thought I would eat something that looked this nice.
However, I was still a bit confused by Klaus’s words. What did he mean by ‘you’re one of us now.’?
I shrug, pick up the fork and start eating the delicious food. I noticed that it was very quiet, the air almost tense. I bruised it off as everyone was probably enjoying their food.
I finished the food, before everyone else, I noticed. I could still feel the hunger in my stomach though. Would it be rude to ask for seconds?
“Are you still hungry, child?”
I looked at Hargreeves, noticing that he was staring at me. Like he was curious about something, it felt unnerving, but I was still hungry. “Uh.. yes. I am.”
Hargreeves nods his head, “interesting. Grace.”
A woman walks into the room. She looks very well put together. Not a single hair out of place. Yet, she gave off a comforting vibe.
“Get number Zero seconds please.”
Shock and confusion filled my body hearing his words. Number Zero? Like how the siblings were named?
Another plate was placed in front of me, a full helping of every food group. “Thank you,” I whisper to Grace. “You’re welcome, dear.” She smiles warmly at me.
I turned to Vanya, who’s barely eaten anything. “Why did he call me Zero?” I whisper to her.
She looks at me a bit shocked. “You don’t know?”
“I tried to tell her.” Klaus whispers, butting in.
I click my tongue, shooing him away. Klaus just laughs and goes back to eating.
“Uh…” Vanya fidgets a bit, “you’re one of us. Meaning you’re going to be training… with them.”
I noticed her choice of words, “what about you?”
“Oh… I’m not special like you guys.” She seemed a bit sad and it made me sad as well.
“I don’t believe that.” She cracks a smile, “you’re here, right?” “No. I don’t mean that. I mean you. You’re here. I believe you’re special too.”
Her cheeks turn a slight pink and she looks away, muttering a “thanks”, before returning to her food.
I sigh, wondering what the future has in store for me at the Hargreeves estate.
February 2000
Standing in front of the mirror, I fix my clothes to fit me better. The material feels different than usual.
Over the years, Hargreeves did multiple testing of my powers. He kept pushing and pushing how fast I could go. The main thing stopping me is that my clothes and shoes would always get ruined from how fast I would go.
So Hargreeves somehow got material from NASA. Whatever he called it, is supposed to withstand air friction and extreme temperature.
Whatever it is, I have ruined less clothes and shoes. So my uniform and some of the clothes I train in are made in that material.
My room has gained more decorations over the years, “more girly” as Five calls it. I roll my eyes just at the thought of him calling my room girly.
Speaking of the devil… the familiar flash of blue light enters my room and Five is standing in front of my door.
“Still haven’t learned how to knock, huh?” I purse my lips at him. He lifts a fist, quickly knocking on the door. “Happy?”
I stare flatly at him, “yeah, sure.” Five grins at me, before looking me up and down.
“New training clothes?” “Yup.”
The clothes were skin tight, made out of the same material that keeps it intact. The tops were black long sleeves with a hood, and the pants were black as well. I grabbed matching black shoes that were meant for running as well.
“What does dad have planned for you?” He asks. “Hargreeves says that I shouldn’t rely on my speed. So I’m sparring with Diego today.”
“You know it pisses him off when you call him Hargreeves.”
“And you know that I don’t give a shit about that old man.”
Five laughs caused me to glare at him. “What’s funny?”
“I remember when you first came here, you were the ‘oh so sweet darling child’. Manners and everything. Now look at you.” I roll my eyes, “that was before I realized what kind of person he is.”
Five just smirks at me.
“What are you doing here anyway?”
“I can’t visit my best friend?”
I eye him, knowing that he has something up his sleeve.
“I gotta go. I don’t want to keep Diego waiting.”
I walk past Five, not giving him a chance to say something smart.
However, that doesn’t stop him from following me.
“I want to watch Diego beat your ass.”
I gasp at his words, “oh how little faith you have in me.” “Oh yes. I have faith that Diego, the one who excels in hand to hand combat, is going to lose to you.”
“Wel, when you put it that way…. Psh! Still! Have a little faith.” I swat his shoulder. Five chuckles, “good luck, (y/n).”
The both of us step into the training room. Five immediately went to stand by one of the pillars. I noticed that he wasn’t the only one watching Diego and I train. The rest of the siblings were here to watch as well.
I mentally roll my eyes, I’m glad this will be entertaining for them. Diego stood in the middle of the room, fidgeting with his weapons. His weapons only consist of blades of course.
I was a bit worried, since I’ve never seen him miss his target.
Hargreeves finally walks into the room. “Children.” He greets and I just nod at him.
Hargreeves starts to go on about how this will be a combat fight, how I once again should not only focus on my speed. But I only tune him out. If I have these powers, I should use them right?
I see Diego get ready in a fighting stance, meaning that he was probably going to make the first move.
“Good luck.” Diego says with a smug tone in his voice. My eyes narrow at him. “I won’t need it.”
Diego throws the first blade at me and I easily dodge it. However, I didn’t notice the blade curve back around and nick my shoulder. I let out a sharp hiss at the stinging pain in my shoulder.
I notice Five stand straighter and lean forward slightly from the corner of my eye. His eyes carefully watched me. I could feel the nervousness from the rest of the siblings.
Diego smirks at me, getting cocky that he got the first hit.
He throws another blade at me. This time I was ready.
The blade slows down enough for me to see it. I grab the handle of the blade, stopping its trajectory at me. I quickly throw the blade back at him, missing him on purpose so it can lodge itself in the wall behind him.
Diego’s eyes widen looking at the blade then at me. “No fair!” “No, I’m adapting.” I say, my turn to be cocky.
Diego huffs, grabbing another blade at me. I repeat the same things, grabbing the handle of the blade, lodging them into the wall. Each time one was thrown at me, I would get closer to him. I was a bit proud of myself for not using my powers to just speed up to him.
Now that I was standing in front of him, he pulled his arm back to swing a knife at me. As the blade swept towards me, I stepped in close to his body, so when I turned my right shoulder- it brushed against his chest. Using the edges of my opened hands, I struck his upper and lower arm causing the knife to clatter against the ground.
With his other other hand, he throws a punch towards me, successfully hitting me in the shoulder, causing me to stumble back. He throws another punch, but I block him this time with the side of my arm. Since I couldn’t reach him with my arms, I decided to throw a kick at him.
Right at his kneecap since he wasn’t really protecting himself. He gasps, stumbling a bit. I spun to the other side of him, throwing a kick to his ribs.
Diego grunts, getting low on the ground, swiping my feet from underneath me. I land on the ground with a loud thump, successfully knocking the air out from me.
Diego is straddling me now, knife in hand as he tries to aim the weapon at my throat. My hands fly up to his wrist, stopping him. Both of our arms shook at the tension from each other.
I was struggling to hold him off. He was stronger than me, but I was determined to beat him. His blade was getting closer.
“Don’t you think that’s enough?” I can hear Luther ask Hargreeves. “There is no mercy in the real world.”
I was starting to get desperate and I did the only thing I could think of. I quickly brought my knee up, hitting him right where it doesn’t shine.
Diego freezes up and groans at the pain that spreads through him. He falls to the side, legs immediately curling up.
“You.. bitch..” He spits out.
I grab the knife that had previously fallen out of his hand. I straddle him this time, Without wasting another second, I slam the blade down.
It was dead quiet in the room, the only sounds that could be heard was Diego’s and I breathing.
His eyes flicker over to the blade that was next to his face. So close that he could almost feel the cool silver grazing his skin.
“Get off of me.” He suddenly spits out.
“Sorry.” I mutter getting off him.
I stand, facing Hargreeves. Waiting to hear what he has to say this time. I barely used my powers, so there shouldn’t be much to say.
“Nice job, Number Zero.” He says and something snaps inside of me. Five years of hearing him say Zero, knowing full damn well that he knows my name.
My eyebrows twitched, a tell sign that I was about to snap.
He turns around about to leave and the next words flow out of my mouth before I could stop them.
“It’s (y/n).”
Hargreeves stops in his tracks and turns back to face me. His face stone hard as he stares at me. Almost like he was trying to stare into my soul.
“I do not care what name your mother has given you. You are part of this academy, so you will be known as Zero.” “I’m not a part of your little academy.”
His nostrils began to flare at my words.
“You belonged to me as soon as your mother gave you up.”
My eyebrows furrowed. “No, she loved me. She would never give me up willingly.”
Hargreeves lets out a boisterous laugh, “what a preposterous thought! I gave your mother a hefty amount of money and she easily gave you over to me.”
I shook my head, not really believing him.
“You really think your mother loved you? Think about it, child. She didn't care that you would run off late at night. She didn’t care that you were skipping school. As a matter of fact, she told me that she despised you. You were the reason for her partner leaving her.”
His words were like a punch to my gut. Tears welled in my eyes and I couldn’t really control my emotions.
I couldn’t stand being in the room anymore, with the prying eyes boring into me. Looks of shock and pity from the siblings. It was too much.
“(y/n)!” Five’s voice was the last thing I heard before I flashed out of the room.
I was now in the old park I would go to as a child. My breathing heavy as I started to realize things. Maybe Hargreeves was right. My own mother didn’t care for me. I never asked about my father. I only cared for my mother. Is it true, my own existence caused my father to leave? Why?
Is that what was in the black briefcase? Money? Did she really give me up for money?
Tears fell down my face like a steady stream. I couldn’t stand it. I couldn’t stand the piercing pain in my heart. The wrenching twist in my gut.
I had to run. It was the only way to escape the feeling of being trapped. I had to run. That was the only thing in my mind. Run, run, run. Just run. Run as fast as you can.
The world blurred around me as I ran as fast as I could. Pushing myself faster as I ever have.
I couldn’t even make out the world around me. My surroundings soon began to bend and look funny. Before I could stop myself, I’m suddenly somewhere else. Somewhere I have never seen.
I gasp, looking around my surroundings. Everything was black, the ground was shiny and smooth. I tried to step forward, and my surroundings changed colors. I stop, not knowing what any of this meant. I try walking backwards, colors warping different colors.
“Hello?” I called out, but the only thing that answered was my own echo.
Fear started to creep into my chest. The realization that I was probably stuck.
My breathing began to pick up again.
“Wait, wait. I want out.” I mutter, turning around and trying to run out. However, it was like I was stuck in this place.
Different colors warping around me and I reach my hand. Trying to grasp a hold of something, anything.
My fingers push through something and I gasp, my whole body falling forward.
I land on the ground with a loud thud. My eyes squeeze shut at the sudden pain pushing through my arms.
I groan, getting myself together.
Opening my eyes, I see that my hands are clutching green grass. I let out a relieved laugh. “Oh, thank god.” I mutter, letting go of the grass.
I happily laugh, sitting up and looking around to see where I am at.
However, my happiness is cut short when I notice things do not look right.
Cars that I have never seen before drove down the street. Old cars.
The people were dressed weird too, and I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb. People were giving me strange looks as they passed me.
I ignored them, standing up. Trying to find anything that would help me tell me where I’m at.
I walk around a bit, stopping when I find a newspaper stand. Maybe this would tell me where I’m at.
However, I stop short of seeing the date at the top. February 10, 1945. Dread fills my chest as I double check the date and look around.
This has to be a joke right? I grabbed more newspapers, seeing that it all had the same date.
The newspaper drops to the ground as I just stare ahead in shock.
“What the hell..”

A backstory for brisket Five? Say less!
Tags: Diego and Five bond:(, semi-happy ending, brisket Five, he's retired, not an x reader, if you guys want me to make one just ring the bell!, He's so silly!, now let's traumatize him, shows how brisket Five got his name
Characters: Five | the brisket boy (TUA show), Diego Hargreeves, slight mention of Luther Hargreeves and Sloane Hargreeves, Waiter Five cameo at the end
---------------------------------------------------
"You used to be one of the rotten ones."
Five wouldn't say he had any artistic ability, in hindsight his calculations all over every space of his childhood bedroom might look like modern art to the gullible eye but it's more of an eyesore when you actually understand the things written down, some even have corrections all over them, which at one point stops looking good and starts looking like someone barfed numbers on top of numbers. He learned mathematics in the years he spent walking the empty wasteland of an apocalypse at the ripe age of thirteen to fifty-something, reading books over and over again that survived in the apocalypse was his only source of enjoyment, if not enjoyment, then to pass the time.
No one knows one of those books he picked up was a cook book, a mini-series of them, he vaguely remembers having six out of the eight that you could get in a standard book set of these page torn burnt at the side step-by-step instruction nightmares. But he kept them. There were no stoves anywhere - and if there were, there would be no gas to turn the thing on; besides, he didn't exactly have the materials to cook food anyway, so it was useless to carry those six books around so much, embarrassing, even. Yet it was still in his cart, all forty years he spent heaving it and dragging the wooden mess behind him, those books never left his sight, and he never let them get damaged.
"Step one, throw a pot on the stove and set the fire to medium heat, slice the meat and add it into the water, then--" Five mumbled with his eyes closed, his hand fumbling with a fork, before his ears picked up footsteps right outside of his hotel bedroom. "Five?" Diego knocked on his already open door, letting himself into the older-but-younger brother's room. "You hear the thing with Sloane and Luther? They're getting married," Diego announced, eyeing his sibling for a second, trying to gauge his opinion. If Diego wasn't Five's second favorite sibling he would have sent him out of his room in less than a second, but he is. "I know. Space boy marries space girl before the world ends, kisses and hugs, do I have to be there?" Five grumbles, standing up from the edge of his bed and making his way to Diego, too lazy to use his powers.
"Yes, you have to be there. You're Luther's sibling too you know?" Diego, who's been trying to work on his parental instincts, can't help but see Five as a kid who just can't be understood by certain people, and with this knowledge in his mind, he also can't help but wrap an arm around Five's shoulder and give off a smile. "I'll be there too."
Well, this certainly wasn't what Five thought would happen a few hours before his brother's wedding. He was baking..a cake, a wedding cake, with Diego, his other brother. Five eyed Diego from his peripheral vision, watching him mix the cake batter incorrectly. "Give it here," he sneers, blinking next to Diego and grabbing the mixer, doing it the right way and watching his brother stare at him in what he thought was either awe, annoyance, disgust, or all three. "What?" Five stepped aside, cracking an egg into the batter and then mixing again. "Nothing, I just didn't think of you as the type of guy that cooks."
...
"I don't." Five stares down at his hand holding the mixer, blinking at the weird thought that maybe he could be the type of guy who cooks. After all this, when the world eventually ends and he finds himself up in his version of heaven (which he would prefer if his siblings were nearby, but he'd never tell them that), he'd open a restaurant and cook all the stuff he wishes he could've when he was stuck in the apocalypse. Or, maybe, he just dies - either way now that he was doing it, it felt pretty good, thinking about how people would eat his cooking. "Diego, help me with this."
--There it is, that dreaded moment. After Luther's wedding, after they found the other side of the hotel, after they reset the universe, after everyone else left. The sinking feeling that his siblings would never get to taste his cooking again, dare he ever try to cook after that shit show, it felt worse than standing here alone, by himself, in a park on the bench hoping nobody walks by him and asks if he knows where his parents are. Truthfully, he doesn't even know what happened to his parents, neither Reginald or his biological mother.
[SOMEWHERE IN THE GODDAMN PRESENT]
He gave up on cooking, he realized it sooner or later. After opening a restaurant that was - by the way - extremely successful, he found himself trying to contact his siblings in his free time, once or twice a week, calling them then hanging up a few minutes later to make it seem like he never missed them, and the reason he was calling was only to check up on whether or not they're starting another apocalypse or something. Klaus and Diego got more calls than he'd like to admit, Diego had a family, Klaus was finally off drugs because he lost his powers, and Allison was taking care of him while Klaus was taking care of Claire; who Allison finally got back in this timeline. But that wasn't when he gave up on cooking, it was when he realized this timeline was still doomed to fail either way.
He remembered it as clearly as he remembers that stupid commission handbook, the subway, the diary, the amount of times he felt his chest tightening at the mere mention of another apocalypse, even worse, at the mention of his siblings dying, or his siblings having to die for the sake of the world. That wasn't what he wanted, it was far from what he thought the ending would look like. Maybe, for once, he could accept that he was gullible for thinking he'd ever have a happy ending, especially one that had his siblings in it. If not for his siblings abandoning him, it was him abandoning his siblings. Again.
One more thing he would never tell anyone is that he still blames himself for ending up so far into the future. At first, when he ended up in the apocalypse and couldn't teleport back in time, he thought it was his fault. Seeing his siblings bodies laying there dead and hearts investing, he thought when he jumped too far into the future, he lost all the time he could have spent with them before the apocalypse happened. It's why he wanted to stop it so badly in the first place, to be able to spend more time with his family, the only family he had. Now, he was stuck in a stupid subway with his head in his hands, shivering in one of the empty seats, using his shirt to cover him up as much as possible from the harsh temperature of the subway. Ten years. Ten years on the subway, ten years travelling different timelines, surviving, leaving, wishing for a better adventure. It was just like the apocalypse honestly, if it happened in a train that smelled weirdly like a mixed cleaning agent and a car freshener.
It was on one of those off days when he found the abandoned restaurant, well, it was abandoned when he first saw it, but it felt like the universe was actively laughing in his face when the subway chose to bring him here, though it was the only place he could stay and feel even a little bit closer to home. He stepped inside the dusty establishment, coughing as he did so, the lights were on and flickering, but he was only here to try and loot the place for food. He walked around the place, old shoes sounding against the tiled floor, senses heightened and a butter knife he found clutched tightly in his right hand.
When he opened the kitchen door, he almost lunged in surprise, well, that is if he could lunge at all, or if he could feel surprised at all. It was..another version of him, cooking a meal of some sort, like something you'd find in a shitty three star fast food restaurant, and the grease was just everywhere on that thing. "Do you mind?" The other Five cleared his throat and raised his eyebrow, staring at the Five who was holding a butter knife in his hand.
"You hungry? I could cook you something too." Waiter Five smiled, well, it wasn't really a smile, more like a small smirk pointed towards the other Five who was just standing there like a bear poked. "I'll make my own food," Five answered, clearing his throat, but his hand never let go of the butter knife at his disposal.
"Got any brisket?"

A while back, I started a fic that put Willow into the Umbrella Academy canon. And when I say a while back, I mean a while back. Like, pre Viktor transition arc.
What I think I'm gonna do is completely start over. That way, I can include other OCs as well, and don't have to worry about what to do with Viktor's transition since the original fic includes his deadname and old pronouns.
A few things to note:
The current bio for Willow is pretty old, so I'll most likely redo it
Along with her, I'll also be including Cherry and Wendla. I don't think I'll be including Levi to keep the numbers consistent (and because of how similar his powers are to Sloane), but he's not going anywhere as far as RP is concerned.
There will eventually be season 4 related OCs introduced, but I'm not done making them yet
I may end up including some of my plot bunnies, or I may give them their own fics, maybe both? Idk yet
This will most likely end up crossing over with The Magnolia Academy and The Obsidian Academy
By the nature of this fic being "what if my OCs were canon," there will be spoilers for all four seasons!
Speaking of spoilers, I'll be leaving my posts of what my OCs would be doing in different seasons up for RP purposes. They'll all be under a cut and/or on a separate Google doc, though
That being said, there will be certain plot points I'll be tweaking or outright ignoring. I'm not gonna say all of them here bc that'd spoil the fic, but these include removing That Scene™ with Allison and Luther from season 3, removing the whole Allison and Luther incest thing, removing the Five and Lila bullshit from season 4, Viktor being a trans guy from the getgo, and revisiting some characters that the show forgot about
Since it's gonna go from just inserting Willow to inserting other OCs as well, I'll probably end up changing the title. Not sure what it'll be yet tho
Tldr: gonna be completely revamping an old tua oc fic of mine, more details to come!

can you do ben hargreeves x !PLATONIC child reader. Where they are both siblings and ben literally takes care of her and being overprotective and promises her he’ll adopt her someday and just a cute sibling moment (season 4??) 🥹🥹
safe haven
Tumblr media
this is so adorable oh my godddd :,) thank you for the amazing request i was so excited to write this!! i currently have covid so this cheered me up lol
tags: older brother!ben, fluff :)
Ben Hargreeves wasn’t known for being overly sentimental, but when it came to you, his younger sibling, he had a side that was both protective and affectionate. The family never really had a calm moment in their lives, but today was a rare moment of normalcy.
You were Ben’s little sister and you spent the majority of your time with him. Today, the two of you were baking cookies while the family was out doing some dangerous yet pointless mission.
You stood on a stool in the kitchen, mixing ingredients and following his instruction. The kitchen was filled with the smell of baking ingredients. Ben was supervising, making sure everything went smoothly.
“Alright, the cookies are almost ready,” Ben said, checking the oven. “Let’s get them out.”
You were excited and took the oven mitts from Ben, excited to take the cookies out of the oven yourself. “I can do it!”
Ben hesitated but nodded, handing you the mitts. “Just be careful. The oven is really hot.”
With determination, you opened the oven door and reached inside. The heat was intense, and as you pulled out the tray, your hand slipped slightly, causing you to brush against the edge of the oven. A sharp sting made you yelp, and you quickly pulled your hand back, almost dropping the tray.
Ben’s reaction was immediate. He rushed over, his face full of concern. “Whoa! Let me handle it.”
He took the tray from you, setting it safely on the counter. Then he gently guided you away from the hot oven. “Are you okay? Did you burn yourself?”
You held up your hand, which was red and starting to feel sore. “I think I did. It hurts a bit.”
Ben’s expression softened with worry. “Let’s get some cold water on it. It’ll help with the pain.”
He led you to the sink, where he ran cool water over your hand, his touch gentle and careful. “I’m sorry I didn’t stop you. I just wanted you to feel like you could help.”
“It’s okay,” you said, trying to smile through the discomfort. “I wanted to do it. I should have been more careful.”
Ben dried your hand with a towel and gave you a reassuring smile. “Well, you did a great job with the cookies, despite the little mishap. I’m proud of you”
He carefully placed the cookies on a cooling rack, then fetched two plates and sat them at the kitchen table. Ben watched you with a smile, clearly relieved that you were okay.
“I’m so glad you’re my brother, Ben. I love you so much!”
You were unaware of most everything that occurred. Ben protected you from the evil of the world and the family and he was relived to know you felt safe with him. What Ben didn’t know is you knew things in the family were rough and it was taking a toll on you.
You finished your cookies, feeling content and safe. Ben’s protective nature might have seemed overbearing at times, but in moments like these, it was a reminder of how much he cared.
As you both cleaned up, Ben ruffled your hair gently. “Next time, let me handle the hot stuff, okay?”
You nodded, smiling up at him. “Okay, thanks for taking care of me, Ben.”
He took a deep breath. “One day we won’t have to be here anymore, okay?” Ben looked at you with eyes of sadness and hope. “One day I’ll adopt you and we can have days like this all the time. No more living in danger or fighting with the family, just you and I.”
“I’d really like that,” you leaned into him and hugged him tightly, his arms wrapping you up and giving you both the sense of security you searched for your entire lives.

"No, we are getting the chocolate ones," Five rolls his eyes.
"Uh- no we aren't? We are getting mint ones," you argue back.
"There is something wrong with you, nobody likes mint oreos," he tells you with disgust in his voice, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"That's not true, you just lack enough social interaction to know that," you huff.
"Well, everyone at the academy agreed on chocolate," he reminds you.
"Okay, that was before I saw those delicious mint ones-"
"'Delicious mint ones my ass. You might as well just take the cookie part off of a regular one and put toothpaste on it"
"I'm done with this, we are getting both- problem solved," you say placing both in the cart.
Tumblr media
"What ingredients did Klaus say he needed," you wonder aloud.
"We are not getting Klaus anything," Five tries to steal the cart from you.
"What do you mean? He told me to get him ingredients so we can make a cake together," you tell him.
"Klaus can't bake"
"You can't space jump without getting stuck in the future either," you cross your arms.
His jaw drops and he glares at you.
"At least I'm not best friends with someone who's high all the time," he says.
"I happen to enjoy his highness, he makes everything less... serious," you look him up and down.
"Whatever, just get everything on the shelf for all I care," Five gives up.
Tumblr media
"Can we get a dog," you ask while strolling through the isle with pet food and supplies.
"Absolutely not"
"But why, do you think I can't take care of one?"
"Yes, in fact I do think that"
"I would make a great parent, for your information"
"Oh really? The last time we had a pet you gave the fish a bath-"
"He needed to be cleaned"
"-with soap!"
You shake your head looking up and mutter a 'rest in peace Mr. Goldfish'.
Tumblr media
You two finally made it back to the academy to see Allison and Luther waiting in the kitchen.
Luther looks at Allison, "I'm surprised, they made it back without killing each other!"
The two of you glance at each other, "barely," you say in sync with him.

No-Power’s Umbrella Academy AU Headcanons (Fic is set in 2021)
- [ ] Age Order from oldest to youngest: Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Ben, Vanya/Viktor, Five (28, 26, 25, 23, 22, 20, 16)
- [ ] Reginald is TERRIBLE with news, good or bad. Everytime he tells somebody something they leave totally confused.
- [ ] Reginald is a Lawyer.
- [ ] Grace can’t have kids, that’s why they adopted. (she’s not a robot)
- [ ] Grace is a stay-at-home mom and kinda acts like Mrs. Wheeler from Stranger Things
- [ ] Luther is a scientist and works at NASA as an assistant.
- [ ] Luther HATES tomatoes. Idk, he just kinda looks like he would.
- [ ] Diego is still a cop, but he’s actually a good one.
- [ ] Diego will drink coffee to seem tough but he enjoys tea more (his favorite is Earl Gray)
- [ ] Allison still an actor and still has a daughter, but she named her Elizabeth (After her great-grandmother) and Allison’s husband died in a car crash when Elizabeth was three.
- [ ] Allison bakes a TON of sweets with her daughter and sends them out to her family as Christmas or birthday gifts (Five loves them and always calls Beth to thank her)
- [ ] Klaus drinks A LOT but he doesn’t do drugs and is actually a yoga instructor (He does Tarrot readings on the Hush-Hush because he’s a fraud)
- [ ] Klaus LOVES to spend time with his siblings. He’s at every family gathering, birthday, and holiday even. Sometimes, if he misses them enough, he’ll just show up and spend a week or two there.
- [ ] Ben is a kindergarten teacher. He’s always LOVED kids, he absolutely adores them, he thinks they are the cutest and purest things ever. He’s actually one of the many reasons they adopted Five. (Buddy just REALLY wanted a little sibling to raise and play with because Vanya was only a year younger than him)
- [ ] Ben, for some reason, is naturally good at fighting. Like, Diego was scared when Ben asked to train with him and he got a mouthful of kneecap within the first thirty seconds.
- [ ] Vanya can play almost every instrument, she just enjoys the Violin the most. She teaches Violin and Piano lessons at the same school Ben does.
- [ ] Vanya buys herself little trinkets and gets all giddy because she thinks they’re cute.
- [ ] Five is a student in highschool and is VERY SMART. He had the opportunity to skip a grade -and still does- but he declined. He hated being the youngest in his family -He gets babied too much lol- and he thought it’d be hell to be the youngest in his classes too.
- [ ] Five is allergic to peanuts. Like, HIGHLY allergic to peanuts so much to the point where he carries two EpiPens and his own water bottle to not chance anything.
- [ ] Fives real name is Max, Maxson Hargreeves, but GOD does he absolutely hate it. He goes by Five because it was his siblings nickname for him when he was younger. (His birthday is 5/5/05)
- [ ] Diego is tremendously good at cooking and sings while he does it. Not hum, he fully sings as if he’s Mariah Carey.
- [ ] Klaus is obsessed with kimonos…nobody knows why, but if you catch him on the right day he’ll just be fully decked out with his hair pulled up in a sparkly purple kimono.
- [ ] Ben is a total lightweight. Buddy could smoke a cigarette and it’d have the same effect of smoking weed.
- [ ] Allison hates the feeling of fur or fuzzy things. Fuzzy slippers? Nope. Socks? Nada. Blankets? Definitely not. She prefers heavyweight blankets and tight clothing.
- [ ] Allison doesn’t braid her hair, it gets all knotted and takes forever to detangle.
- [ ] Luther can do top-tier voice impressions, it’s actually terrifying how good he’d be trying to catfish someone.
- [ ] Vanya rarely ever wears makeup. She instead uses her hair as a way to boost her confidence so she styles it every now and then.

What if when he was in the coffin, Ghost at least partially died in the eyes of the supernatural (ghosts, demons, etc) and so he came back able to see dead people? Specifically if they were hanging around and trying to speak to him? Give this man the Klaus Hargreeves special. Without the drug addiction ofc.
Price and Ghost talking in Price's office
Soap: *busts in* "CAP WE'VE GOT A POLTERGEIST"
Ghost, legit not scared cause a ghost warned him: "there aren't such things" *saying this, you know, like a liar*
Gaz: *right behind Soap, panting and covered partially in flour* "he's right, the fucking thing blew up the flour while I was baking!"
Ghost: *looks vaguely past the two at the apparition following them with a miffed look on the apparition's face* "what did you do to it?"
Soap: *deeply offended* "do to it, DO to IT? Do I look like I mess with spirits to you? Does Gaz? We're not stupid, we were just making cupcakes!"
Gaz: *nodding along enthusiastically*
Apparition: "the flour was expired, they would have poisoned you all"
Price, trying not to laugh and knowing Ghost can probably see the apparition: "why don't you take us to it?"
*one hallway walk later*
Soap, using Ghost as a shield: "it threw a cup after the flour exploded"
Ghost: *very much glaring at the apparition, goes over to the flour mess and sees the cup is from a sergeant that disrespected Soap the other day, picks up the flour* "you do know this flour is expired by, like, 2 years, right? Maybe your poltergeist was trying to save you"
Soap and Gaz: *dumbfounded staring and sputtering*
Ghost, deciding to be funny: *walks up close to Soap and Gaz, gets about a foot away and whispers* "I see dead people" *walks away*
Price: *on the floor laughing as Soap and Gaz just stand there looking completely at a loss and scared because it could be true, they don't actually know*

other plot hole that drives me crazy is that i don't understand how five and lila stopping ben from meeting jennifer in 2006 would stop the current apocalypse. jennifer incident ben isn't even the ben that's the problem, he's not even THERE, and the ben waltzing around with jennifer is sparrow ben, who is ALSO from a different timeline than the one they're in, where the jennifer incident never happened, and where the world still ended for a different reason! and they're CURRENTLY living in a timeline where the jennifer incident never happened, so why would stopping it in a different timeline make any difference? and if they have the ability to go back to the original timeline and change things (which has lowkey been the goal since the end of season 1) why don't they stop the season 1 apocalypse instead of worrying about jennifer for some fucking reason? their plan makes no sense! like maybe i would be less frustrated with it if they decided to go back in time to kill jennifer before the any of the umbrellas had the chance to meet her (they're both assassins even! it would make sense to not involve anyone else! they're the most likely to get behind a cost/benefit analysis of loss of life) but for some reason the plan that starts the fuckass cottagecore strawberry romance plotline that no one wanted doesn't even have the decency to be coherent? and you want me to believe five 'it would make sense if you were smarter' hargreeves was like yeah surely this half baked plan full of holes will stop the apocalypse! what the hell.
