little advice from someone who's been there? don't do the math. that equation does not exist. there's no "save five harlans for every two claires" formula. people like us, we will never save enough lives to make up for the ones that we take.
independent five from tua spatial jumped by beck. (x) canon divergent and mainly set in season 3.

oc asks that reveal more than you think
Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who’s the favorite?
Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?
Ask them to describe their love interest.
Do they look good in red?
Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about?
Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?
Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themself in three words.
Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?
Do they empathize with non-sentient things (dolls, plants, books…)?
What age do they most want to be right now?
They’ve won the lottery. Spend, or save?
Do they like romance in the books they read (or in the book they’re in)?
Name one thing their parents taught them.
Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?
What would they consider a waste of time– other than school or work?
If money wasn’t a limit, what would they wear?
Do they like children?
Kissing: tongue or no tongue?
Do they study before tests? Practice before job interviews?
What do they like that nobody else does?
What would it take for them to break up with someone? What would be the last straw?
Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What’s their go-to?
Stability or novelty?
Honesty or charity?
Safety or possibility?
Talent or effort?
Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)?
Would they date a fixer-upper?
What recurring dreams do they have?
What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

"Suit yourself." Wendla shrugged. "So, you got somewhere to go? 'Cuz if not, I bet you could go a decent amount of time hanging out at the manor without anyone noticing."
She was amused by the idea, and it wasn't entirely a joke: Marcus was normally too busy showing off working out, Ben and Christopher hopped from club to club, Sloane normally flipped through her travel guides or cheesy romance novels, and Alphonso and Jayme were doing god knows what. The only one who could probably figure it out was Fei, since her "1984 birds" as Wendla called them were literally everywhere.
Wendla stared for a moment, flabbergasted, before deciding to stow that conversation topic away for later.
"Sure, totally," she reassured him, not questioning it. Not out loud, anyway. She'd figured he'd want to reunite with his siblings, but his business was his business. If he was willing to work with the Sparrows, she wasn't about to ruin that by asking a bunch of questions.
"You need help carrying your stuff?"

Unadulterated Loathing
@the-commissions-deadliest
Cherry normally enjoyed partnering with fellow agents, especially when she normally didn't work with them. It was a fun new opportunity to bond with someone she normally wouldn't have an excuse to.
But her latest assignment was testing her.
Cherry respected Cha-Cha: she was a capable, skilled agent, damn good at her job...but Jesus Christ did they clash.
Her painted smile as she greeted her new mission partner was as polite as it was saccharine, something she'd practiced and perfected from years of undercover work. Most people wouldn't be able to tell that she was trying to be polite and keep as good of an attitude as possible.
Most.
"Cha-Cha!" Cherry greeted as cheerily as possible.

Willow gave a yelp as it hit the ground and shattered, but it turned into a giggle that she quickly covered up with her palm. She was already enjoying this a surprising amount. Maybe a little trouble was good for her.
Willow took another one of the bottles, took a deep breath, and threw. It landed on the fire escape on the side of the building opposite from their own, but didn't break, a pout forming on her face.
"I-I mean...it landed on the other fire escape! That, that's something, right?"

"Come on, you beautiful bastard, show yourself!"
Cross legged in a circle of candles, Klaus Hargreeves held court with the dead. Or, he was trying to. Beer cans and liquor bottles littered the attic floor around his circle, flickering in the candlelight. Another handle of vodka, half empty, sat beside him, the source of his ghostly dysfunction. But Klaus hadn't planned on summoning a ghost tonight--rarely ever, in fact.
After far too many drinks, Klaus has decided it was time to practice his powers. Five and Luther always got on him about training, since they were kids. Emotionally stunted by sixteen, Klaus had rarely taken the time to purposefully use his powers. The ghost-vision was always on, until he drowned it out with drugs and booze, but who knew what he could do when he was trying.
Unfortunately, what had fueled this motivation was also his power's undoing. The only spector to show up clearly was Ben. His dead brother watched skeptically, leaned against the windowsill nearby.
"This isn't going to work," Ben pointed out, decidedly unhelpful.
"Yeah, I heard you the first five times, Benny," Klaus shot back, glaring back at him. "Are you gonna make yourself useful, or are you too comfortable in the Peanut Gallery?"
"Oh, warm and cozy." But the sarcastic smile quickly dropped, eyebrows raising at something behind Klaus. "You've got a visitor."

When Willow hid, she'd find a place where she could hide in large plants, using her powers to shield herself in the branches. When she was seeker, she'd accidentally give herself away because she was giggling so much
On rainy days, when dad was away, the kids of The Umbrella Academy would play games around the house.
Their favourite game to play was Hide and Seek. It always felt like a good idea when they started but soon descended into chaos.
Luther used to move some of the heavier pieces of furniture in the house to try and hide behind or block the seekers' path.
Diego always took it very seriously, comparing it to stealth training, where he would often find something (usually from the kitchen/fridge) to try to cover his skin so as to blend in better with his surroundings.
Allison had used her power on many an occasion to tell the seeker that they hadn't found her and to start walking the other way.
If they weren't careful, they would lose Klaus entirely before finding him sleeping in a waste disposal bin outside or on the roof because the hatch had closed behind him.
Five would obviously blink between different rooms and often left the building entirely when he got bored before blinking back to claim victory.
Ben would use the tentacles to quietly close doors behind the seeker, trapping them in a room that allowed the others to change places.
While Viktor normally just had to find a spot and settle in while his siblings got up to their shenanigans.
The games would either never last very long or they would drag on for hours, but they were something that they all looked forward to playing.
It was some of the only time that they could have fun and use their powers without the pressure of their fathers watchful eye.

"Wait, no-" Willow began to protest before realizing Klaus was just joking and instead cutting herself off with her own (albeit nervous) laugh.
She helped Klaus steady himself when she joined him on the fire escape, grateful for the metal that would hopefully keep him from stumbling over. "Okay, got it. Uh...what would a 'cool way' be?"

Willow helped Klaus steady himself, taking a few of the bottles from his messy grasp so he'd have less to carry.
"I-I won't," she said, adding with a joking giggle, "as long as you don't."

Update: somehow I have power??
Just wanted to give a quick heads up
I live right smack in the middle of Florida, which means there's a decent chance I'll lose power come Wednesday thanks to Hurricane Milton. I don't know if I will for sure or not (I sure hope I don't lmao), but if I go radio silent for a little bit, that's why

Wendla sped off in a blur and returned a few moments later. Maybe she was showing off. Maybe. But what was the point of having super speed if you didn't use it?

"Of course I-I'll listen," she reassured him with a gentle smile, "I-I'll always listen, okay? Promise."
Ah, yes, leave it to the Hargreeves siblings to deflect instantly the moment they began opening up. She was as guilty of it as Klaus, and the other six of them as well.
