The Yaz attack episode SUCKS because it's basically "campus shooting, but with dinosaurs", so it's really not that Fun.

Like...cowardly scientist gets eaten on his birthday abandoning kids? That's kinda funny.

Guy gets pulled apart by T. rexes while saving our heroes? Sad, yes, but he went out like a hero. A champ. He was pulling a gun! He fought to the end!

Babysitter gets eaten trying to rush her charges to safety through a mass panic? Not funny, very sad, but noble and spectacular despite the horror.

Bunch of mercenaries get torn apart by a freak experiment? Yeah, that's what they get for stealing dinosaurs and selling them.

Guy on a scooter gets chomped in the middle of mayhem? Sad for him, but also funny, especially because you know the guy won a contest for that role (probably won the scooter in-universe, too, making it Ironic).

But three random people killed and/or wounded in an almost-indiscriminate attack on a refuge? That is...not cool. It's Too Real. I Do Not Like It. There is A Thing there.

after the firework ended, me and my sister played cuphead co-op together! now i usually get over the bosses really quickly since ive kinda mastered them in a way? but having a second player makes things difficult for 2 reasons: the boss health is doubled and the IMMENSE amount of clutter that gets on the screen from our shooting is so fucking funny....

Day 23 - On Cloud Nine

“Vi…”, Laqa whispered as he pressed a kiss to A’viloh’s forehead and gently ran his fingers through his long red hair, finally pausing to caress the smaller Miqo’te’s ears. “Wake up, we should go back…”

A’viloh, sleeping peacefully nestled between his boyfriend’s arms, stirred with an unhappy sound and cuddled closer to his chest, searching for warmth. The air out here had turned rather cold quite fast, which was not unusual in this area, but since they hadn’t planned to fall asleep here they were poorly prepared for it.

They knew that it could get dangerous out here at night, not only because of the regular monsters roaming around the area, but also due to an increase of strange, hostile undead nearby. They hadn’t moved far from the boundaries of Little Ala Mhigo but nonetheless it had been reckless to stay out here for so long.

They only had wanted to rest for a bit after a long day of hunting monsters and weapon training. On one hand living in Little Ala Mhigo had the advantage of not needing to hide their affection the way they had needed to back with the tribe. But on the other hand the sea of shabby tents that was Little Ala Mhigo was not exactly the most comfortable place either.

So they had sat down together under one of the gnarly acacia trees, as they did so often, and had dreamt. Dreamt all kinds of dreams. Dreams about a world where places like Little Ala Mhigo weren’t necessary. Dreams about a future filled with adventures and stories for the history books. But also dreams about a future in some beautiful and peaceful place, a home for just the two of them, happily together ever after.

So at least partially these dreams had already turned to reality. Together, finally, resting in each others arms, sharing kisses and words of love without any fear. Content and happy as long as the other is there, no matter the place. For a while at least, until bigger dreams and good intentions make them loose focus of the only truth that matters.

I only want what’s best for you. / YOU are what’s best for me.

Don’t you think it would be nice there? / I would follow you everywhere you want to go, as long as we are together. To the end of the world and beyond.

I love you. / I love you more.

But for now just the two of together was enough. For now perfectly happy. For now nothing in the world mattered apart from each other. Everything else - the cold, the monsters - mattered so little, that they forgot time didn’t stop just for them. Too captivated in each other’s eyes, each other’s laughs, each other’s embrace, they hadn’t noticed the beautiful sunset had long vanished and made room for an equally pretty night sky. Carefree and blissful they had drifted off to sleep, dreaming a little more about their futures.

That was until such a dream had awoken Laqa. Barely awake, realising where they were, he hadn’t know anymore if it had really been a dream or a suspicious noise nearby that had awoken him.

“Wake up, Vi…”, he repeated, still with too much tenderness in his voice to achieve the desired effect. No, actually he didn’t want to wake A’vi at all. He looked so pretty and peaceful asleep. But it was to dangerous out here…

Carefully he turned A’viloh‘s face up and kissed it until the Miqo’te blinked sleepily and giggled.

“We should return to the settlement.”, Laqa said soothingly. “It’s too dangerous here.”

Lazily A’viloh kissed him back, wrapping his arms around the other’s neck. “Can’t we stay like this forever.”

Laqa smiled at him warmly. “I’m afraid we can’t…”

As A’viloh stretched his limbs, Laqa looked up to the sky, searching for the moon, trying to estimate how late it was, when he noticed something unusual.

“Look!”, he said excitedly, lightly shaking A��vi by the shoulder and pointing to the sky. “Quickly! Look there!”

One by one a handful of stars fell from the sky. Tiny sparkling things with long glowing tails.

The two Miqo’te’s eyes sparkled equally as they watched these doomed little things fall from the sky.

“Quickly!”, Laqa repeated. “Make a wish!”

A’viloh didn’t need much time to think.

“I wish… —“

“Shhh…”, Laqa interrupted him and raised a finger to his lips. “If you say it out loud, it won’t come true.”
