The thing abt Crowley that I think is missing from a lot of fan content is people like. how do I word this. people like him so much that they're not willing to make him do things they find unlikable. Crowley's demonhood is usually represented in fan stuff by him like, doing bad things to bad people, people who "had it coming" one way or another, which I think works in serious contexts but is just no fun if you're trying to match the tone of the source! Crowley comes up with and does things that are objectively annoying and unpleasant and that's Fine. It's hilarious. We all need to make peace with the fact that Crowley would play Instagram reels loud as hell on the train, she'd be in front of you on line at the drug store paying with exact change, she'd show up to your baby shower with one of those toys that make a bunch of noise, she invented the leafblower. Etc. These jokes write themselves they're so easy and they're always funny and I want to see more of that sort of energy

The discrepancy between cis ppl and trans ppl on nsft kink Tumblr is like. "I'm such a perv bf or icky daddy or whatever I want to make you PREGNANT and be MONOGAMOUS 😈😈😈" vs "having another I want her to make me eat my own kidney out of a dog bowl moment! #girl" and it's sooo funny

Another thing I Think I've posted about before but have been thinking about again anyway. One of if not Thee funniest tf2 fic ideas I've had bouncing around my head for a couple years now is "Expiration Date but Scout goes to Sniper for dating advice instead of Spy (most likely as a last resort)." I think this has the potential to be extremely funny and allows for one of my favorite bait-and-switches (that Sniper actually pulls like CRAZY), BUT I don't know if I'll ever write it because a) all the shit I've got going on and b) I don't want people to treat it like a ship fic even though they definitely absolutely will. Sad!

If your immediate response to "trans men are capable of benefiting from male privilege" is "trans men are not The Enemy!!" I don't think u should be discussing feminism or intersectionality at all lmao

Actually my own post. People are soooo fixated on whether or not they can "reclaim" xyz slur that they completely fail to consider whether or not they're in a social setting wherein slinging slurs around like candy is actually appropriate. Like it doesn't actually matter if "ummmm I can reclaim" if someone is like "hey this is a public Discord server can you stop saying 'faggot' every other message" because you're still making people uncomfortable by refusing to stop being an edgelord for two seconds. You are not "owning the straights" you're making other gay people uncomfortable and acting like that's political activism

Anti-poly sentiment and biphobia do definitely stem from a lot of the same ideological places, all of which are either direct reinforcements of or sociocultural remnants of heteropatriarchy, of the historical precedent of men literally owning their wives. This has evolved and shifted gender dynamics, but the core of it remains the same. The suggestion that their partner may be bisexual is "threatening" to these kinds of controlling, possessive people because it suggests that their partner may be attracted to people who are not them, or who are not "like" them, superficially (i.e. of the same gender). There is a long-running expectation for bisexual people to eventually "settle down" - i.e., become monogamous and cease identifying as bisexual. Why would you keep identifying as bisexual when you're with me? Because you want to cheat on me? And anti-poly sentiment carries the same idea - "my partner belongs to me, my partner can never look at anyone else, if I even had to think about my partner having sex with someone who is not me I would kill them and then myself" is exactly the same as the rhetoric deployed by controlling, biphobic partners to bisexual people. I don't even want to do the "well polyamory isn't for everyone! Monogamists are super valid too!!" thing because quite honestly, I think you NEED to be able to grapple with the reality that it is extremely unrealistic to expect your partner to only ever be attracted to you, and that you have been fed the lie that a "healthy relationship" means expecting two people to fulfill all of each other's romantic, sexual, and emotional needs for their entire lives by a patriarchal society. I genuinely think more people need to think about polyamory in the way I think more people should think about bisexuality - accept that it might happen, accept that it isn't a slight against you if your partner is bi or poly, accept that you will not and SHOULD NOT be the center of your partner's universe for the rest of your life, and if you can't accept these things I really don't think you're emotionally mature enough for a long-term relationship at all.
(and of course not all bisexuals are polyamorous and not all polyamorists are bisexual but I am both and it's my post. so.)

"Name a hobby outside of MEDIA CONSUMPTION" is the worst kind of post. It's squarely in that ever-growing genre of post where the point on its face is ideologically meaningless and entirely reliant on an audience's biased negative reaction to a certain popular online buzzword (in this case, "consuming media"). Define "media". Define "consumption". Are reading books, watching movies, and playing video games all inherently inferior hobbies for dumb babies? What about going to an art gallery? What about going to see a play? What makes those "different", if you instinctually answer "Noooo that's not the same!"? Where does creating art, or "media", fall into this equation? Why does your insistence on feeling in some way intellectually and/or morally superior than the peons who use TikTok always fall back on the idea that the only worthwhile, "real" hobbies require a certain level of physical, mental, and/or social ability and reinforce the glorification of manual labor? Why will we never Fucking be free?

Sick of people treating any sort of overlap between lesbian and bi women's communities as a thing of the past. If you are a bi woman who dates women you are going to end up in "lesbian spaces", "lesbian culture" is often going to be your culture, and "lesbian issues" are often going to be your issues. Bi women should not be expected to just like. shut up and let the REAL Sapphics(tm) take the reins in every single conversation ever, especially not in conversations where a bi woman's perspective is noticeably lacking. Despite it all this is still My Community and thus I am going to be affected by its issues. Lol

This website is so funny bc on one hand you have people saying "no a fully non-human robot woman who wants to murder you is entry-level normie shit" and on the other hand you have people saying "hear me out" about, like, a regular human man with an eyepatch

Can't decide which is a funnier interpretation of the "I don't think redheads are very sexy"/"That's a very interesting thing you just said, Nona. Let me write that down" thing from Nona the Ninth, whether Pal thinks it implies she's not Harrow because Harrow thinks Gideon is sexy, or whether he thinks it implies she's not Gideon because Gideon also thinks Gideon is sexy

Last rb also has me thinking on like. People conceive of sexual violence as like The Ultimate Form of violence, which manifests itself in two major ways in writing fiction: denying any possible subtext or allegory of sexual violence even in a story about many many many other kinds of violence, or shoehorning sexual violence into an already deeply violent and abusive dynamic to show how Super Totally Fucked Up it is now. And honestly I think tlt fans are "guilty" of like. both of these? There is a very obvious bloc of tlt fans who pointedly ignore the very obvious themes of sexual violence and misogynistic violence overall in the text (as if forcing the soul of the Earth into the body of a beautiful woman you then lock away forever isn't a metaphor for sexual assault), but I'd also argue there's a smaller, yet still present, subset of fans who like, don't seem to realize that grooming a) can exist outside of the context of sexual abuse and b) is still bad even if no sexual abuse is present. I'm not even necessarily against certain reads of like, Kiriona as her father's cavalier being potentially allegorically incestuous, but also I don't think there would need to be sexual violence there for that dynamic to still be abusive. John is, whether biological or surrogate, the "father" of the two teenagers he manipulates the most, and I think it's important to realize that the weaponization of fatherhood is always bad, even if it never "crosses the line" into explicit sexual violence. There are other kinds of abuse and tlt is full of it. Harrowhark is revolted by John's attempts to act paternally towards her because she has only ever known her own parents as forces of control and violence. Harrowhark's parents attempting to get a 10-year-old to commit ritual suicide is actually just as bad as any hypothetical sexual violence between John and Kiriona. In the same way that sexual assault is not "special" in that it should never be written about ever, it's also not "special" in that it is The Most Violence any story can ever have and you know it's Getting Hardcore Now when abuse "escalates" from physical or psychological to sexual

I actually do think it's cool when "older" lgbt people id with "newer" terms tho. Like everyone knows it's cool to be a 19-year-old genderqueer transSEXual but it's also cool when people are on here in their 40s being catgender and stuff. I think people still have a gut reaction towards microlabels, xenogenders, neopronouns, etc as Cringe but realize that this is a bad way to think about other people, and try to justify other people being "cringe" in their minds by going "Oh they're just kids, it's fine." But it's not always gonna be just kids! The Internet expands people's access to language and this includes "older" people finding and identifying with newer lgbt terms, yes, even the ones for cringey teens lol
