but sally burns ice cream. ice cream that she has no attachment to. it’s not even baby percy’s ice cream. it’s just random leftover ice cream that she grabbed from a pile of dirty dishes.

the ice cream could not be more unimportant to sally. in the grand scheme of things, the ice cream is nothing.

but poseidon comes to her anyway. he shows up immediately after probably the most lackluster offering sally could give. he shows up anyway.

Something that really puts Lucien and Feyre’s relationship into perspective is how much of an afterthought he is when it comes to telling him important things in her life

Take her pregnancy for example. When it came to announcing the pregnancy to her family, no one cared if Lucien was present. When it came to announcing the gender, no one cared if Lucien was present. Y’all say that they’re super close but he’s never a first priority. People who you say isn’t as close to her as him are more informed about Feyre’s life than him.

Edit: In fact as I’m reading back, the reason Lucien was told was so he can contain Tamlin’s reaction when he eventually found out. Lucien was told not just because Feyre wanted him to know, but because they were worried about Tamlin’s reaction. That should literally tell you everything you need to know.

During Feyre’s bonus chapter after they tell everyone about the baby, it’s Mor that Feyre cares about. It’s Mor that she expresses excitement for when it comes to announcing her pregnancy. Mor who is on a different continent is given more headspace and emotion than Lucien who is literally a call away.

In the days that came after Nyx’s birth, Lucien still isn’t there. People say that he’s closer to her than Azriel or Cassian but it was those two spending time with her and her child while, as far as we know, Lucien has yet to even hold him.

I’m not saying this to be petty or to attack Lucien but to explain why people say that his relationship with Feyre is not what it used to be. I loved them in Acotar too put book 1 is not good representation of what their relationship is like now. Feyre is reaching important milestones and Lucien is an afterthought in all of it.

He is her friend while the Inner Circle is her family.

i don't get the small folk viewing the death of the dragon that killed so many of them for no reason as "an ill omen"

because it’s a dragon. it’s a god! it’s a living walking breathing god to a bunch of people whose gods are incredibly silent!! maegor didn’t parade quicksilver’s body around did he!!!! a dragon was killed in combat for the first time since MAEGOR’S RULE and then they chopped its head off and paraded it through town!!!! there’s a level of decorum i think everyone expects high born people to be treated with - for example criston specirically taking lord darklyn’s head off - and they didn’t even show that to a living god!! of course they think it’s an ill omen!! it also like, isn’t meleys’ fault that they came up through the floor, that was rhaenys’ decision, and you don’t blame the horse for what the soldier does do you? vhagar went from being laena’s to being aemond’s, these dragons don’t have allegiances, they have riders. and criston & aemond throw all that propoganda about them being gods OUT THE WINDOW in an instant!! and the smallfolk immediately pick up on that vibe - this war is spiraling to a point where people are willing to throw away whatever decorum, whatever Super Special Valyrian Godliness they have to brag about a fight that barely counts as a win and go “oh if they’re gonna treat EACH OTHER like that what the fuck are they gonna do to ME?” and try to make a run for it but the gates are already barred, they are already being locked in like cattle to a slaughter. and that realization starts with seeing meleys’ rotting head and realizing they are treating dragons the same way they treat the smallfolk, which means the way they treat the smallfolk is about to get MUCH WORSE.

one of my absolute favorite things about the multi povs in King's Cage - War Storm, is the fact that every single person that had a pov chapter (besides Maven) has called or referred to Maven as a child.

I rly wish I had ss for this but I'm too lazy to go through every chapter to find them (💀)

but I remember that the more the story went on, the more the characters began to realize what a child Maven was. which is ironic considering the fact that he turned from a boy prince that no one looked at to the King of Norta who everyone feared.

everyone slowly began to realize what a child Maven Calore truly was. and it's almost haunting. the only person who I feel always knew was Cal.

i got bullied to the core and seeing kids now being able to wear it makes me actually very happy tbh

i dress so boring now and sometimes miss it but i feel too old to dress that way now😭
