It’s funny to contrast for magical girl animes the rival is just like kinda rude and tsundere-ish and sometimes not even consistently to everyone and just only towards the protagonist specifically but overall a good person

while in shonen animes the rival regularly is like a genocidal war criminal but he’s chill now OKAY lmao

I personally think it's a good thing for Cale that people don't know he has a healing power and how it works. Because then... People would get more demanding.

There are already too many people (background extras, not his allies) who look up to him like a saviour and hero and are grateful for being able to stand under the protection of his shield. The blood coughing and fainting is what makes them (the humane ones) not think of him as an invincible person who Should be at the forefront protecting them.

Imagine if people knew that when Cale Henituse coughs up blood, he's not actually hurt or dying but actually healing? That he's not injured and rather perfectly fine and healthy? There would be more people who would want to push him to become their hero and savior, relying on him to save them from all sorts of dangers. That is not something Cale, who has spent nearly half of his life sacrificing himself to save others' lives, deserves.

His allies too. Although I feel bad for them sometimes for all the headache and heartache he gives them, it's for the best.

People already view him as a hero and savior, a legend. They don't need more grounds to forget he's human. They'll take his protection for granted and push him to do more. Although Cale isn't the type to just do as they ask of him. In fact, the ones to make these demands would be the first to die. But it still would leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth, especially those close to Cale. Though they'd do everything in their power to destroy whoever says such things, it'd still hurt them to know people think of their Cale as more of a commodity than a person. Heck I'm afraid even some of the allies might get the idea that it's fine for the young master to cough up a little blood if it's for the greater good.

That's why, it's for the better that nobody knows the truth behind the coughing blood.

I'm truly glad Shonen is finally solving its terrible portrayal of romantic relationships between their leads! And all it took were two necessary ingredients to make it all work!

1.) A generous serving of actually making the woman a fucking person with an actual personality and their own motivations.

2.) A dash of neurodivergence.

Percy listens to those whale noises that people use to sleep and he just listens to them like a podcast.

And any time he hears someone like Annabeth listening to them he's like "Wow Daphne is really something else. Honestly I can't believe she would do that"

And like she's like "what?"

And Percy just translates the entire thing to her and instead of calming sounds to help her concentrate she now has Percy tell her all the whale drama which she is oddly immersed with.

Shoutout at the knockoff movies that I grew up with. Like. In my teenage years I couldn’t figure out WHY everyone would be like “AnAsTaSiA iS bEtTeR tHaN aNy DiSneY pRinCeSs.” And I was like ? that movie was SO bad. The animation is nowhere near as good as Disney, not even close. The story was STUPID and the characters were unlikable. People would FIGHT ME on this and tell me what a good movie Anastasia was and I would be like “I watched it a bunch of times as a kid because I had the VHS, I never liked it.” 

Then one day I was arguing with a friend about it and he was like “I just don’t get how you don’t like it! The story’s so good, and you love princess movies.” 

And I was like “For the last time the story is NOT good. That train scene was the worst thing I’ve ever seen.” 

And he was like “train scene? When they’re fleeing the capital?” 

So I’m like “I don’t remember why they’re on a train but I remember she ate too much or something and the guy she was with made fun of her for it.” 

NATURALLY this raised some questions, such as, “what on earth are you talking about NostalgicFun” and “she didn’t eat on the train what’s wrong with you” 

So I double down like “NO she definitely ate on the train. I think the instruments made some kind of remark about it too and I always felt bad for her because she was hungry.” 

“……………..The instruments,,,,?” 

“Yeah? Her parents were turned into instruments, duh.” 

And that’s how I discovered I grew up watching some bizarre knockoff Anastasia movie where her family was turned into instruments 

also apparently this company did a whole line of Disney/Fox/Dreamworks copycat movies such as “The Secret of Mulan” and “The Secret of Hunchback.” And while they’re admittedly…charming? I’m not sure I’d use the word “good.”
