#art #traditional art #watercolour #fanart #vocal synth #synthesizer v #synthv #frimomen #asterian #genbu #alternate title: waveform measuring contest #based off a time i was testing out different vocals in a song that had a phoneme dragged across like five long notes #and i had put it an octave down and was testing it out with My Boys (tm)#and like. frimomen sounded nice but a bit odd because i only have his lite and those have an extra limited range #and asterian sounded wonderful BUT with a tasteful little falsetto softening of the highnotes as all AI banks are wont to do #and then. i put in genbu. and it was just a wall. his waveforms were like twice the size #instead of the auto falsetto of the AI banks (because standard banks assume you'll do that yourself with parameter shenanigans)#genbu just got louder. he just kept getting louder. it was awesome #that is one benefit of concatenative particularly in SV. SV is good about letting you like #blank out any autopitch etc compared to AI vocal synths BUT their naturalistic range can sometimes #be a detriment if you want a bit of an. unrelenting vocal flair. and for that u must go to sample based <3

#talked to my credit union about pre-approval for an auto loan. im gonna frow up #tldr; i just started a new job after completely depleting my savings over the last couple months #and my fucking car has decided that NOW is the time it wants to begin its death throws after 17 years & 190k miles #so rather than wait for the engine to explode on the highway or something i'm spending money i don't have #(many thousands of dollars that i will need to borrow. specifically. 🤢)#to shell out for a newer & hopefully more reliable car before winter hits. and then i'm just gonna pray my new income can cover it!!!!!#on one hand i'm excited cuz it'll be the first car i've ever owned that wasn't a shitty hand-me-down with over 150k on it already #and i am absolutely drooooooling over the one i'm gonna test drive tomorrow #but on the other hand. it feels very precarious to take on this amount of debt right now and i'm FREAKING THE FUCK OUT.#i was worrying this morning tha ri was rushing into things and maybe it would be better to try to hold off for a couple months #but then i had to use my own car for work today instead of a fleet vehicle and the engine started displaying Silly Behaviors*#(*RPMs doing whatever they feel like randomly & a noticeable Clunk whenever i'd shift gears)#and since this thing has already cost like 1k in two emergency mechanic trips in the last two months #i feel justified in my decision to just take the L and hope nobody will look at it too closely when assessing its trade-in value 😔#ctxt #money talk cw

my problem blessing is that i didnt spend enough time in traditional serbian educational institutions, so when i deem that a system of examination/studying is transparently stupid, i cannot fucking prepare it for the life of me.

#it would be a useful skill to have #my friends who went to gymnasium schools and then serbian uni's can just.....memorize what ever it doesnt matter that its stupid #and im kinda jelaous lmao like im GLAD i didnt have the life beaten out of me esp because its auto harder with my autism #but on the other hand there is a segment of my driving theory that i hope wont show up on the test today #because my brain decided early on that its extremely stupid and useless and i just....barely learned it. like i'll get it right if i get #lucky #i've went over other segments a bunch of times and that one im always like “uhmmm! no thank you”#logs #in other news im literally a hundred times less stressed out by the prospect of the exam than i am over seeing my father #wish he would cease <3

feel like im gonna have a meltdown and my default way of dealing with this kind of stress/anxiety is just avoidance which is actually making this process worse and i am feeling the gnawing jaws of guilt and shame and i just want to be done and i dont want to keep dragging the same adult into this bc ive had to cancel so many times that im like okay its time to find another person to help and i wish the internets main advice wasnt "find someone to go with you" bc thats not fucking helpful i dont have anyone everyone i know is busy or not qualified or i feel like im causing problems for and i feel like im going to implode of stress and i never want to use rideshare again and i hate having to rely on people in this way all the time
