Autism Mood of The Day
Being so frustrated about every little thing and crying because you don't know how to express your emotions.
So then you end up crying in front of your parents and make them uncomfortable/feel frustrated cause they don't know why you're crying "ItS nOt ThAt BiG oF a DeAl" or they don't know how to help
#We're struggling out here#Can't believe it's only fucking Wednesday#I'm so fed up#With this week with the shit I've been working on this week#Fun story y'all#My older sister's old room has been my room for over a year now#We are just now getting to the point of getting her shit out of it#I still have not properly moved into my own damn room in a year#So I think it's safe to say I should be allowed to cry over this but for some reason I don't think I am?#fucking hate this#Autism rant#Autistic mood#autistic things#Autistic adult#Autistic problems#actually autistic

did any other autistics have recess activities in elementary school that, looking back, were so obviously autistic behaviors/traits/styles of play? i recently had a conversation with an autistic friend about this, so now i'm curious. for me, i can remember 3 "weird" activities that probably took up most of my recess play time in elementary school.
the first was walking balanced on the tiny fencing around the playground. you know, these things
the thing is, i would spend a whole 30 minute recess just walking around in a loop on the barrier. not talking to anyone, or doing it as part of a game, but just. walking.
next we have: digging up dust in the corner of the playground and spitting in it to make a paste i could mix up with a stick. i don't remember if i actually did anything with this paste, all i remember is making it. also my playground corner had a great view to look at the heat waves making the playground look blurry when it was hot out, which was fun.
finally, my personal favorite: collecting a certain type of acorns and cracking them open to collect the grubs inside. i actually had a friend for this one, i forgot his name but we called ourselves the "grub club." we had a little stump with a hole in the middle, and i'd put sticks and stuff in the hole for the grubs, then we'd collect acorns (probably dozens per day) and carefully crack them with rocks to get the grubs out and put them in the stump hole. if i remember correctly this activity was mostly in second and third grade.
anyways sorry for the long post but i'd love to hear about other autistics' weird recess activities if you want to reply to the post or send an ask :]

[ID: a drawing of a very simplistic face with an utterly blank expression. The words “having a great time” are written next to it and an arrow is pointing from the words to the blank face, indicating that this is the cartoon person's internal emotional state. /End ID]
I need people to understand that sometimes autism is just this
