Hello! I made these this morning and thought I'd share. You can print these or use them as inspiration for your bullet journal-- whatever works for you. I made one daily cleaning checklist with suggestions and one without. Enjoy :0
I originally made these for myself (since it's easier to remember if I have something I have to physically "check" off) but realized it wouldn't hurt to share.

I managed to create a perfect routine for autism/adhd and I'll give you some tips here:
Create a predictable routine (for the autistic side, this is important) but also flexible (ADHD hates doing the same thing every day, we need some fun), for example: every day at 9 am I study, but I alternate studying art/programming, I alternate language study between English/Russian too. This takes away the monotony while maintaining the daily routine.
Tumblr media
For ADHD, it is very important to have fun, so remember to alternate tasks with rewards, such as playing something you like after an hour of studying or taking time to watch TV after a task.
Remember to leave slow tasks for the end of the day, such as reading a book at night before going to sleep, avoiding too many lights and exercising at the end of the day etc.
The more fun you make each task, the lighter it will be on your mind and the more productive you will be! I tested several routines until I found the one that works for me, I'm finally able to do everything I needed and I hope this helps you 🤍

can you elaborate some more on breaks? what is a break? like how long is it, and how many do you take in a day? im curious what your typical day plan looks like, where would the “break” blocks go and for how long, vs “work” blocks. im into daily planning but i always fail to account for taking mindful breaks
Amazing question—and the answer, of course, is different for everyone.
But I'll try to answer as efficiently as possible.
A break is any moment you take to recollect your thoughts, energy, or focus.
Yes, it's nice to have intentional breaks built into your schedule, but if you're neurodivergent, then it's most likely going to have to be intuitive.
Intuitive meaning depending on how you're feeling in the moment.
It's practically impossible to know if something is going to tire you out after 30 minutes or an hour on this upcoming Friday, you know? We just don't have that kind of foresight.
So, really, building in breaks into your schedule means not packing your day with a bunch of things do to.
For me, it usually means only timeblocking half the day with stuff to do, so that I can be sure everything will get done.
Personally, I don't include chores into my time blocks, but you can if you want to.
Personally, I do include my morning routine and nightly routine into my calendar, but not each individual task. It just gets one timeblock called "morning/nightly routine" with the task list as the description.
Throughout my day, I take breaks every 45 minutes or so—even if it's just to stop looking at the computer screen and think for a second.
Usually, though, I recommend getting up (if you can), drinking some water, and maybe doing a quick stretch/head roll/stim to release some excess energy.
It's all about knowing when you're hitting a wall.
That's when to take a break.
When you decide to come back is based on:
Your mental health in the moment (do not push yourself if you're about to breakdown, no matter how important the thing is)
How much time you have in the day/hour (think timed items like tests or a work deadline)
What needs to be done today vs. what can wait (most things can wait, actually)
Which are all individual skills in and of themselves.
Taking breaks in a world that doesn't support neurodivergent minds is a complex problem, because there are multiple layers to sort through.
Give yourself the time (years), space (hour-by-hour), and grace (all the time) to figure it out.
Remember: Learning how to live takes a lifetime.

Why can't I be productive???
I have a hundred educational videos saved on topics I want to learn about and all I have to do is sit there and listen to one of them, but my brain won't let me.

Gonna start doing productivity posts under the spoons model.
I have 11.5 spoons right now
Things that give me spoons:
Loving on my dog for an hour (+1)
Watching video essays (+1/hour)
Time alone without pressures (+1/hour)
Engaging in special interests uninterrupted (+2/hour)
Stimming/creating/repetitive unconscious movement without external anxieties (+2/hour)
What I need to get done:
Spanish module and quiz (-2)
Fine arts homework and reading response (-2)
Writing for fiction 1 for 3 hours (-2)
Eating (-1)
Walking my dog (-1)
Showering (-2)
Writing for screenwriting 1 for 3 hours (-2)
I have to prioritize Spanish and fine arts since those are overdue assignments I also have to eat and take car of my dog. I can for sure do those things today, but the others will require me to get more spoons. If I dip below 4 spoons, it’s not good because any interruption or disruption could leave me in the negatives (meltdown or shutdown or sh-ing behaviors).
The tally (starting at 11.5)
+.5 (making a list and planning
-1 (eating)
-3 (unplanned social interaction
+3 (video essay while fidgeting)
-2 (Spanish homework)
-1 (half of fine arts homework)
Current total: 8
Notes/End:
I ended up not being able to do anything after half of my fine arts homework so I went to bed relatively early for me (1:00 a.m.) and I’m glad I did. I needed more rest. I woke up with about 15 spoons and then got myself to shower. About to post todays!!

After finishing the penguin and making the call for testers, I picked up the leftover yarn from the dress and made another infinity pill stim toy.
Tumblr media
Bad lighting so you can't really see the color very well here... But I did that!
Here's the original thing I made for Autism Acceptance Month this year, for reference:
Tumblr media
That's an old pic. It's visibly dirty from use now, lol. It's a good stim toy.
This new one I put in the same pellet filling, but I also put just a tiny piece of regular stuffing to give it variable texture. I like it.

Thought I’d get over it, but I didn’t
(Heads up- this is basically a rant about chicken nuggets)
Tumblr media
So Morning Star changed their plant-based chicken nuggets recipe, right? No big deal. Except that this particular brand and style of nugget (I have since learned) was a very popular safe food for autistic and sensory sensitive kids and adults- myself included.
Why is this an issue? The general consensus among consumers that have been buying this product in the past do not like the change. And not in a “we don’t like change” kind of way, either (though, of course, there is some of that too)- but like a “it’s bad” kind of way
And what does Morning Star do in response to this reaction for their consumers? Nothing.
Well, not nothing, exactly.
They pad all the negative reviews that start flooding in with positive reviews from promotions and product giveaways.
It actually pisses me off so much the amount of money they are willing to waste on collecting promotion testimonials from consumers that will likely never purchase the product, on top of their past consumers they are essentially throwing away by not being receptive to their feedback. This cannot be the best long-term growth strategy for the company, it just can’t. Because I tell you this- I will never be buying from Morning Star again.
And, sure, I may sound like a tantrum-throwing toddler. But I’m okay with that- because if they’re so willing to abandon me, then I’m more than happy to do the same goddamn thing to them.

let's just say that the stress has gotten me sick.
exhaustion, fever, feeling overall malaise. it sucks because it's like being forced to just hide away because i can't take much. everything has caught up to me and it sucks. especially not being able to exercise has pissed me off because exercise makes me so happy and at peace but i don't have the strength.
i have to build myself up again.
again.
sure this week hasn't been all bad but it sure as hell hasn't been all good.
i just want to feel whole again.
just gotta hope for a good week!

session with the psychiatrist today and he finalised getting me a s*roquel prescription… upon a google i discovered that one of the most common side effects is supposedly weight gain so now i am actually considering the preferred alternative option of recovery which is k*lling m*self
#he is 1. russian 2. the sessions are being paid for and monitored by my father#i tried calmly and reasonably explaining to him that i do not suffer from bipolar disorder and that#the prevalent part of the symptoms which cause me direct discomfort or suffering in my day to day#life most closely correspond to adult ‘female’ adhd and autism; and that the#only psychiatric pharmaceuticals which would cause a legitimate positive impact on my life would be those prescribed to ADHD patients;#which means that what he really should be doing is writing me a reference form to speed up the diagnosis process. his response?#‘you have labelled your issues with these developmental disorders to absolve yourself of a responsibility to heal from them; since; unlike#mental illnesses; they are not temporary and cannot be cured; only alleviated’#ok mental illness isn’t temporary either; total recovery is nigh impossible. plus; i don’t want meds for a cure. i want meds to be able to#manage and live like a functioning adult human being. as in; be able to concentrate on what i am invested in; to ameliorate skills and put#in an ounce of effort instead of floating mindlessly without concrete goals or desires#okay maybe i need depression meds. MAYBE. but i have a sneaking suspicion that the moment i start taking adhd medication and become#far more productive and accomplished by my own standards; my depressive state will begin to dissipate without psychiatric intervention#jamie.txt#tw ed implied#antipsych

Afternoon:
went for a walk with my sister + shopping for her birthday
worked out (dance)
updated social media
౨ৎ⋆˚。⋆
Evening:
korean learning session
worked on some pattern designs
Tumblr media
Notes:
I really enjoyed spending time with my sister. I only see her every two/three weekends, but since we're on holidays right now, she's staying a little longer (she arrived yesterday, so it'll be four days instead of the usual two!).
I try not to feel too guilty about not spending as much time working on my illustrations as I should. But my sister will leave in just two days now, so I want to be able to enjoy some time with her as well.
Tumblr media
Things on my mind:
declutter the painting/art shelves
move my bed and tables/reorganise my room
continue reading "l'interprétation des cotes de fées" + take notes from it
put my frame on the walls
take notes for my next psychological appointment

Workbooks to improve executive functioning
Since the post I made last night about improving executive functioning was so popular, I figured I should pull these out of my comments and give them their own post, in case it's helpful for people.
I have worked with the publishers of all of the books linked below and can vouch for their psychology books. The publisher of most of them, New Harbinger, is an extremely credible evidence-based psychology publisher.
Obvious disclaimer that everyone's brain is different and what works for someone else may not work for you.
Is there evidence that executive functioning can be improved? Yes. This book appears to be a very thorough overview of the field, and contains both advocates and detractors of cognitive training, for a balanced perspective. From the table of contents, I would really recommend jumping straight to Part 3: Developmental Perspectives for executive functioning (EF) writ large.
Certain therapy modalities are specifically designed for skill-building in areas like impulsivity, decision-making, emotional regulation, and cognitive flexibility, all of which are EF skills or very dependent on EF skills. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is probably the best field to look at for these - skill-building in those areas is its core goal.
Some DBT workbooks:
The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook: Practical DBT Exercises for Learning Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance
The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook for Teens
There are also a lot of workbooks for ADHD that are sometimes more broad but also can help with executive functioning:
The Adult ADHD and Anxiety Workbook: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Skills to Manage Stress, Find Focus, and Reclaim Your Life
The CBT Workbook for Adult ADHD: Evidence-Based Exercises to Improve Your Focus, Productivity, and Wellbeing
The Neurodivergence Skills Workbook for Autism and ADHD
General executive functioning workbooks:
The Executive Functioning Workbook for Teens
Executive Functioning Workbook for Adults: Exercises to Help You Get Organized, Stay Focused, and Achieve Your Goals
Hope these are helpful to someone!!
