being too weird and unlikable and off putting and always being shunned and turned into an outcast everywhere i go and not having felt the connection and healing friendship has on you for so many years has really done a number on me

Rey, who is in my very biased opinion, one of the funniest "girls" I have because she's just a guy, truly. Like Rey is just short for Reynold because he was recruited by a a goddess to help the hero she selected and the hero is conveniently Reynold's younger brother. So he agrees to help under the condition that the goddess gives him a female body for the other world. She's like "really odd flex but whatever" and gives him a female form and he's like "you know. I can't really blame anyone but myself for not specifying 'please don't turn me into a Lisa Frank personification'."

#my characters #ya know since i draw daily idk if ill do any challenges this month #i know theres a LOT of them out there but i might hold off and do huevember as a challenge and let this month just be chill #for what its worth he only asks for a female body because his baby brother (like 10 years younger than him)#commented ONE TIME ugh its so weird to have you dote on me like this #why couldnt you have been an older sister or look less suspicious #so when sent to help his brother hes like RIGHT GOT IT GIRL TIME LIKE THE MOST LOGIC COURSE OF ACTION #then does a really good job at helping the hero and then gets abducted by the demon army and #as rey keeps challenging the demons checking on him in the dungeon (who are all very kind?) to just interrogate him already #and they just ask why would they do that? they just wanted her outta the way for a bit #cause they dont actually want to hurt anyone and then the demon lord keeps personally visiting rey and continues #to point out how she gives him a headache and how the core is different than the shell #and so then he offers to revert rey back to his original form and reynold immediately accepts #and so now hes just a guy again surrounded by v nice demons #and hes like please just be mean ive been trained to handle violence you have to stop being nice #im not used to nice ok you have to be mean or else im going to develop stockholm syndrome #and the demons are just ?? we dont .... dont know.... what that is.......... what.....#then he gets engaged to the demon lord and all is well ! he becomes the trophy husband to the demon lord #and the world is saved (it was never at risk)#i have a lot of love for the idiots in this plot #because reynold and sascha are literal husbands thinking oh no my beloved husband is only married out of convenience to meeee #and solei is the goddess who recruited him and is so mad that reynold is more of a gremlin than sascha #like why is this mere mortal somehow worse than THE DEMON LORD how in the world #and reynold runs around just adopting all of the demon army and is like yeah #ill be the trophy husband with a hundred kids and a hot 7ft tall demon husband who can change into a huge dragon #and hes really content in this role!#but for a while he does appear as rey and hates how much of a highlighter he is

longtime listeners may remember The Desk Dilemma from earlier this year, tl;dr my uncle, who passed away very suddenly in january, inherited this fuckhuge rolltop desk that was my great-grandfather's, and while my dad and his siblings were taking care of the estate i asked if i could have the desk, and my dad, aunt, and uncle were all like "pfft i mean if you can foot the bill to get it to your apartment" and i was debating how much money to spend on getting it here from three states away

congratulations on joining the murder club anon!!!! depending on who you ask the name refers to either people who have murdered or people who have witnessed murder. usually both. actually extremely often both. it's a swell time you'll feel right at home (don't mind our collective skyglass knife collection in the back)

#im still not far into nemesis personally but im very much enjoying it #honestly in a weird way it feels like it's moving faster than HD did. which. is funny bc nemesis is like The gated behind item grinds quest #idk. HD was a fun slowburn where we adventured around gathering our rogues gallery before the action kicked in #nemesis on the other hand feels like im picking up halfway through a batman serial #fallen london #ask #it's WAY more fucked up right off the bat than HD was. honestly ive thought abt red honey for ages. that's so fucked up #and we LEAD with that?? they both struggle with art-related physical and mental health issues, and complicated families

#outdrawn #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #sapphic books #I thought this was decent! I liked the concept (even if I got distracted by some art related things…)#and the dynamic between the characters was good. I enjoyed their relationship development broadly speaking #and the emphasis on communication; though it was a quick flip into being together all of a sudden.#The sketchbook doodle flirting was cute. Some interesting exploration of their complicated family situations too.#There’s a lot of exploration of burnout and carpal tunnel and the dangers of artists overworking which I think are important conversations #and are done with some nuance. But it’s pretty much all discussed in the context of the personal pressure they put on themselves #rather than the industry corporate greed and artificial competition created by the comic platform - which are significant in this story!#It felt odd that that connection wasn’t really ever made?#I know that this is a romance and nitpicking the background plot is beside the point and also that I am not a big romance reader #but the premise that the comic hosting site archives everything; wipes the leaderboard; and out of nowhere has a comic competition for #new weekly chapters…I’m sorry but the art world would riot. Even if people enter because they’re desperate for the cash they’d be pissed #People live off the income from their webcomics! if they were erased (temporarily) with no notice…..there would be crimes committed istg #I simply don’t believe that it would be doable to create a new weekly webcomic with no notice while you also have a full-time comic job #(especially as the only stylistic choices mentioned are full-colour) - not to mention what happened to their 8-years-running webcomics #that were archived? they don’t think about them at all after the beginning? surely they’d care about that?#And then with their new comics they make for this competition (after work I guess) we get vague snippets about them but barely anything #- if they’re consuming that much of your time I would expect to feel like they’re thinking about them all the time #rather than the vaguest discussion about genre and cast numbers only.#I guess I just think the whole comic site stunt felt unnecessary for the plot anyway -#it would have worked exactly the same if they were just competing on the normal leaderboard with their normal comics???#anyway - I’m not judging TOO hard about all that because again I know it’s not the point and maybe the industry is like that in some place #Unfortunately it was distracting enough to affect my feelings on the book tho lol.#Lastly: the audiobook………oof. The narrators talk at different speeds; for one.#And Sage’s VA does this deeply weird raspy-anime-teen-boy voice for Noah which is such an odd choice #and doesn’t match her character at all.#unforch my library only had the audiobook (what I usually prefer) so I just had to sort of….translate the narration into a normal voice lol #anyway the romance is good tho

As a show of good faith toward the remaining Decepticons at the beginning of a new, united Cybertron, newly appointed Senators Bumblebee and Soundwave allowed Shatter and Dropkick to enlist into Autobot City's Defense Team.

These two turned out to be... not the best choices.

The city may have fallen to Insurgent Decepticon occupation had it not been for young recruits Hot Rod and Arcee's accidental interception of Shatter's communication with the fugitive Starscream.

To replace the errant Defense Team members, Springer and Blurr were reassigned from Iacon to Autobot City in their stead.

#my art #tf reconstruction #transformers #bumblebee movie #tf shatter #tf dropkick #maccadam #transformers au #semi-introduction to my idea for antagonists in tf:r - specifically being movie villains slotted into my au #bc if the main crux of the main reconstruction story in autobot city is about hot rod and her rise to becoming rodimus prime #which comes from the First movie - why not loosely adapt other movies too??#ive got ideas for most of them already - kinda jumping back and forth between the modern day story and my pre-war ''downfall'' story #which gives my brain a break from thinking about one to think about another #anyway - i imagine the first ''episode'' of tf:r would be like. hot rod shows up in autobot city on her first day > meets the team #> gets assigned arcee as her partner > arcee hates it > they over hear shatter talking to someone they don't recognise because rod's nosey #> huh that's weird > they intercept it next time by accident > its a communication to starscream about the city's defenses #> they take it to ultra magnus but they break the pad on the way because they were arguing about it #> ''hot rod i know you're new here. and you're intrigued about the war and everything. but we shouldn't be suspicious of everyone wearing a #purple badge. give them a chance.'' > arcee drops it bc she doesn't wanna start trouble + ''magnus will handle it. he always does somehow.'#> rod does not drop it and makes blaster monitor shatter's messages for anything unusual > blaster indulges her bc he's endeared to her #> he does end up intercepting an encrypted message > rod immediately acts and chases after shatter and dropkick on an outside-city mission #> arcee goes after her to stop her from fucking up really bad > blaster unencrypts the message. it's a rendezvous point to start an invasio #> magnus kup blaster and perceptor all head out to help the two young'uns before they get in over their heads #> rod and arcee meet and fight starscream and barely make it out by the skin of the teeth thanks to the more experienced autobots arrival #> starscream shatter dropkick and whoever else is there are driven off #> day is saved - magnus commends rod's gut instincts but rod goes back to what magnus said about not trusting bots with purple badges #> she was right this time but its an exception not a rule and most other decepticons in the city want to live in peace #> magnus also commends that attitude and the team head back > starscream starts plotting his Next Big Plan #''post credits'' scene of magnus putting the request in for springer and blurr + robot dinosaur opening its eye in the dark👀👀#longwinded but ya thats like the Clearest idea for Specific Events so far other things are Stuff I Want To Happen
