I assume this is in reference to the "what if Ezra was around for the rest of the rebellion stuff"? Here's some further thoughts on how he would fit in with the OT trio :]

Han and Ezra get on each others nerves, being around each other is a constant ego measuring contest. Han brings out Ezra’s cocky side and they like to sound off against each other, but it’s mostly all banter and neither of them are ever seriously ticked off by each other. In fact, they like to play sabacc and other card games together whenever it’s just them kicking around base.

Leia and Ezra are besties ofc, I like to think they would’ve been pen pals throughout most of Rebels, and now they’re back in person face to face they spend a lot of time together just chatting. I like to think as teenagers they often confided in each other about the difficulties they faced in their respective roles in the rebellion, and they continue to be emotional rocks for each other later on. They also have a pretty banter filled relationship but it’s less vulgar than it is with Han.

As for Luke and Ezra… we’ll you know me, I’m on that skybridger bullshit haha. No notes there.

As a quad they all get along pretty great. Ezra brings a little silliness to the vibe, as well as a fair bit of emotional wisdom.

Oh Su Han is CLEARLY worse! Fu, while definitely making a lot of weak choices, only had himself and kwamis to bounce off of to make those choices. He had incomplete, very bizarre training, and did at least TRY to protect the Miraculouses in his possession.

What did Su Han even do? Ok this is crazy because I have pondered this same thing for so much longer than is strictly necessary.

The conclusions I have come to:

Rhys is the most interesting to look at, Azriel is the most attractive, Cassian is the most masculine.

The picture in my head of Rhys has never been replicated in fanart but I imagine he's a very lean type of tall, feline is used to describe him a lot and I imagine when he walks it's very fluid but you could pick it out of a crowd. He has very 'Harry at the 2023 Brits' hair, with one strand constantly dangling. He has one of those mouths that is slightly too big for his face, like a cheshire cat, and it pulls up at the side when he's hiding any emotions and even more when he smirks. I imagine he has a fuller bottom lip, so he's always slightly pouting which makes him harder to pay attention to. He has those boy eyelashes that defy physics, and make his eyes even brighter. I imagine all of his features are sharp but not gritty. More angular. I don't ever see him with facial hair, and his eyes are constantly in motion, both the colours and his focus. I imagine you look at him and are acutely aware his looks are a trap, but you still can't find it in yourself to look away from him.

Azriel I imagine as very symmetrical. He has the perfect ratio of features, but it doesn't make him forgettable but moreso difficult to imagine who he could possibly settle for. His smile pulls up at both sides, his frown is the same. His hair is perfectly parted or pushed back, though not on purpose, and if you can get him to laugh you can see identical dimples at work. I imagine he's taller than Rhys by a couple of inches, and more muscled. Rhys is always the slightest of the three of them.

Cassian is the most masculine in appearance of the three of them. His hair is always tied back, albeit poorly. He has more of a lopsided smile but you don't notice because you're too busy noticing how huge he is. I think we know he's the tallest, but not by much, and he looks like he could bench Rhys and Az. I imagine he's always fidgeting or moving which can make it hard to get a clear image of him. His grins are always more violent than the others, they have a vicious undertone and he bares his canines a lot. He's the most outwardly looking dangerous of the three of them, though he's the most docile.

It works, in my head when I think of them. It's just how they must appear. Rhys always set further back between Cassian and Azriel, both of them protecting him.

Hullo! I’ve been watching a bunch of your Timelapses and I was wondering how do you always come up with the colours for your pieces? They’re always so cohesive and pleasing to look at (I almost exclusively work in greyscale so if I’m using colour it’s always a lucky guess and it never looks quite right)

Hey there!

I have to be honest that most of the time I don't actually know what I'm doing and that I have no idea how most of my pieces are gonna turn out. My work process is usually based on "Fuck around and find out", haha. I'm happy to know that it apparently doesn't come across that way, though.

A lot of it comes very naturally to me simply because I've been drawing non-stop for so long, but I can give you some small tips that really help me:

1. Have as many references as possible!

Here's what my reference sheet looked like for the Jayvik piece:

It helped me a lot to understand the overall color scheme I wanted to convey. Lots of very cold tones, pinks and very light blues and greens. These colours sorround Jayce and Viktor throughout all of season 2 and I wanted to keep them, especially since in my piece they are lying in the glowing hexcore.

Don't shy away from using references, get as many as you possibly can! Look at other poeple's art too and try to understand how they work with colours.

2. Work with complementary colours!

Since I paint a lot of romantic illustrations I want them to look pleasing and comforting, which I can accomplish by using complementary colours! You see this a lot with couples that are blue and red coded, for example. And I wanted to do the same thing in the Jayvik piece! For that I used the highlights in their hair!

Viktor's highlights are a soft pink hue.

While Jayce's are a soft blue hue.

The colour wheel works perfect for figuring out if two colors compliment each other because they are literally right across from one another!

3. It doesn't have to be true to life.

Pretty self-explanatory, but I thought I'd add it in here anyways. It's important to understand how colour and light works, but you don't always have to follow the rules. Does the rim light look cool but it makes zero sense? Who cares! Keep the cool rim light! Just have fun and fuck around.

4. A little trick to make your life easier!

I'm not excatly the best at colour theory, I still struggle with it quite a bit, but here's a little trick I like to use from time to time:

If you want all your colours to look coherent, take one specific color as your flat colour. Choose a hue that you would like your piece to have. Like this:

Now you choose whatever colours your characters have and paint them in. For example, here are the skin colours I chose for Jayce and Viktor:

Looks off, right? These colours don't fit the overall piece at all. So what do we do?

Turn down the opacity! It's that easy, wahoo!

I went from 100 Opacity to 72 for this specific illustration. And look at that!

It's so much nicer already! Now you know what colours to use as your actual flats! Just repeat this with every other part of your illustration and you'll have a great starting point. :)
