I absolutely love pedro’s line delivery of “you have no idea what loss is.”

it’s a line that’s always stuck with me just because of how joel made a blanket attempt to invalidate ellie as that was how he would shield himself from relatability and shedding sympathy. but it’s also the cadence, the tone of his voice that has me bouncing off the walls. I remember when this was the only footage of joel from the show we had and people were quick to say “ugh he doesn’t say it with the same emotion.” but that’s the point! he’s consciously restraining himself from showing obvious emotion. just mere seconds ago he was visibly vulnerable with ellie. and then there was the sarah name drop. and his whole face shifted. the wall was back up. he rebuilt the barriers like The Contractor™️ he is and reacquired this deadpan demeanor because he couldn’t allow his vulnerability to seep through. the topic of his daughter was too sensitive. it adds such a specific weight to the line, by making it almost “robotic.” because in his mind he had to be. regression was a survival instinct. knowing just how delicate joel in the show is reinforces the notion that countering vulnerability through fabricated numbness is his go to. what a brilliant take from pedro

I think that what I’ve discovered, the error of my ways, if you will, is underestimating how outnumbered I am as a person who is already the constantly-warm human space heater in his relationship. I think the desire for someone who is big and will keep you warm is something I am fundamentally lacking in this hypothetical Wolf vs Aax scenario and you know what, I’ll live with that. That’s on me that’s personal taste.

I’ll stand by that you can’t discount the “Aax is always cold” as a reason he’s not as attractive because you know what, maybe that is attractive. Maybe I want my cuddles to be like built like a PC hydro cooling system so I don’t overheat at night.

Aegon wasn't a rapist in Fire and Blood. Stupid producer/writer Sarah Hess only made Aegon so vile on the show because her woke feminist ideal of having Rhaenerya girl boss be a "saint" and be so pristine so that viewers had to like Rhaenerya instead of having actual fleshed out characters on both sides for the show.

Aegon's predatory behavior toward serving girls is straight from the book. As for the intent in the show's portrayal, Sara Hess and Clare Kilner have both spoken about believing Aegon to still be deserving of sympathy despite being a rapist; Sara Hess even more disturbingly talks about "upstanding men" who've committed sexual assault without having knowing it and tries to paint Aegon as not knowing what he was doing. So I'm not sure where you came up with this idea that Aegon was only portrayed as a rapist to push an agenda, but it's certainly not anything from the writers themselves. It seems like you're just upset that the Greens, despite their whitewashing, are being portrayed as the antagonists that they are. The Greens usurped Rhaenrya for being a woman. The writers can add more depth to their characters and give them other motivations, but there's only so much that can do when that's the main point of the entire show. It's not very surprising that the majority of the audience is aware of that and sides with Rhaenrya because of it.
