aroace tim drake who is still exactly as he is in canon: zero rizz and a million different flings and girlfriends.

tim drake who is aroace and knows it and admitted it to himself a long time ago and he doesn't care nor understand what is romantic or not and yet. he still gets into romantic relationships because he wants to be someone's number one priority. it is unreasonable to expect it of friends or his family or anyone at all so he gets into relationships and tells the other person plainly that he is the worst boyfriend they will ever have and that he will leave them suddenly when he gets bored and he doesn't care where they are or who are they with or what their mom is doing and he will leave them. but he is so pretty and weird and awkward and they agree readily and he is so sweet when they date and it is so exciting for him for a week or a month but then the failed expectations he can never meet suffocate him and he knows they expect nothing so who is he failing exactly? he breaks up over text and call and feels bad but never enough to change because he has something to fucking prove to himself and that is that he can be loved even if he can't love in a way others want or need

Thoughts on casskon and timkon?

I am neutral on TimKon. I don't particularly love it, but it's impossible to escape if you participate in fandom and I'm more than willing to admit that it makes logical sense given Tim and Kon's canon interactions. I tend to prefer the flavor of TimKon that is "Tim's unrequited crush on Kon" though.

CassKon had some of the most painfully "quick, force both characters into a compulsory heterosexual relationship with each other" interactions on the planet. They are far better off as friends and I'm glad I only had to deal with that for like 2 issues.

Conceptually I think the far funnier dynamic to explore in that era would have been Kon and Steph, who COULD have been really fun as a casual "flirting with no intent to follow through specifically because it annoys Tim to death" dynamic. Unfortunately the mid-2000s Bat editors hated women too much to let us have fun and made Kon hate Steph for taking Tim's place as Robin instead :/

Damian: aromantic asexuality

Duke: heteroromantic asexuality

Note this does NOT equate to my actual headcanons for their orientations, that's in the tags, it's about the way I associate their stories with the way people see and/or experience different queer/lgbt+ orientations. Actually irrelevant to the post that inspired this but once again.

A character is not "canonically straight" if their sexuality is unconfirmed, stop putting straight as the default, yes if they have been confirmed straight they're straight. But so few characters as actually confirmed straight people just assumed.

It's not changing shit if a character that only ever dated a different gender before is confirmed bi, or hell even gay or aroace cause they may not of realised or had internalised stuff.

If a character is confirmed a sexuality and you purposely ignore it that is changing it (cough, Yelena Belova shippers, cough) but if there's never been anything saying any specific sexuality it's not changing it, that's why shipping Stucky is fine cause you're not ignoring Canon sexualities since there isn't one, but shipping Yelena and and Bucky in not (as examples, I'm not bothered about Stucky i just know its popular).

Also in relation to the post inspiring this, real people can't queerbait, but if they're not at least very vocal about lgbt+ rights why have them as your "queer icon" over actual queer celebrities? (Genuinely)
