Aggressively Arospec Week 2024, Day 3: Emira and Willow

This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I only finished it now, so just pretend like it was. And I only realized today that I could've just posted one of my finished edits yesterday instead, but oh well, too late now. (Also I wanted to post my works in a specific order)

Anyways, some headcanons!

Emira is aroallo. She's either indifferent to romance or favorable to it, and she would be comfortable with being in a romantic relationship if she got into one, but wouldn't necessarily seek it out. She would actively pursue non-romantic partnership though.

Willow is oriented aroace, and she's romance-averse. She finds it cute when other people or fictional characters are in romantic relationships, but is uncomfortable with the idea of being in one herself. She's open to non-romantic partnerships though. Also, while she's okay with pecks on the cheeks and such, she dislikes kisses on the lips, partially out of sensory issues, but also due to the association with romance.

These two are in a QPR. I kind of randomly stumbled into this pairing and thought they could have an interesting dynamic.

So like, forever ago (over half a year ago), I was working on updated queer and neurodivergence headcanons (updating the first two drawings and making two more), but then never posted them because I never finished the fourth drawing, and TOH also stopped being my fixation and I stopped making stuff for it-

Just figured I'll post these as they are, ft. a third of the final drawing, since that's all I ever completed.

Additionally, I headcanon Willow as ambiamorous, aka fine with both monogamous and polyamorous (non-romantic) partnerships; and I also headcanon her as romance-averse.

And I headcanon Lilith as non-partnering, aka not interested in any kind of partnerships, including non-romantic ones.

In case anyone was wondering, yes the Willow Park tag is still mostly Huntl0w.

I just want artwork of Willow doing literally anything else, like bench-pressing a boulder or something, I dunno. Is that really too much to ask for?

ok now ill actually talk about her being aro. since day one willow gave aro vibes. and as much as i love huntlow, i love aroace huntlow in a qpr better. i think hunter is probably the clingier of the two and willow is very independent but still cares SO MUCH she is always there to help but also likes having her own space. if she moved in with anyone she WOULD have her own room (with occasional sleepovers tho hehe).

but yea i think willow would see hunter as very important to her and one of her favorite people but not “the one” or whatever. and not her only form of support.

and on that note willow is so into relationship anarchy. she prioritizes who she wants when she wants!! screw having one person as her priority, she has a whole found family >:)) also her working out is so slay and she just such a strong independent person and no one can take that away from her!!!!

i cannot stress enough how non-existent any negative feelings about hunt/low being canon are for me. ive gotten so many comments on fics the past few days and ask like being like "HUNT/LOW IS CANON GO FUCK YOURSELF" because im very oopen and loud about hc'ing them both as aroace but like- Guys i don't care. :D Hey! They're canon! Happy for all the (non-toxic) hunt/low stans yall deserve this! I am not mad theyre canon and idk why people think i AM. I AM mad about the toxic stans who won't shut the fuck up about it.

Them being canon doesn't stop me heacanoning them as aroace or being QPPs, so like. idk just please stop yelling at me DX

Yknow, I had a realization-

Huntlow squicks me out for some reason, but the concept of Hunter and Willow forming a QPR (Queer-platonic relationship) Doesn't bug me at all-

Seriously, the amount of aroace content there is here makes me so sentimental. If there are aroace headcanons in fandoms, it's usually reserved for that one character and that is if it is respectful and not just the one dimensional character who doesn't understand love. There is so much and we are seen as people and not broken. For everyone who makes/made aroace content in this fandom: thank you. You brought me joy today

toh scene I’ve been thinking about writing/drawing for a really long time

Eda was stirring in a stew she & Raine were making when Amity & Luz walked into the kitchen & complaining loudly.

“When are those too finally going to date!?” Luz groaned towards no one in particular.

“I don’t know!” replied Amity, exasperated.

”It’s been years!”

“I know!”

“Right, Eda? Raine?”

Eda snorted. “Who are we talking about?”

“Who are we-” Luz started, clearly shocked by the question. She turned to Raine in hopes they knew & would answer but they just chuckled, shrugged, & sipped on a mug of apple blood.

Amity & Luz looked at each other mouths agape, then back at Eda & Raine.

“Them!” they cried in unison as they both gestured dramatically out towards the kitchen window.

Outside in the yard sat one Hunter Noceda & one Willow Park. Willow was sitting on the ground, legs crossed with Hunter’s head in her lap. Hunter laid on his back reading a book as Willow picked at & fiddled with his hair in a way meant to pester him.

“HAH!” Eda chortled. “Do they really need to be?”

“What!?” “Of course they do!” Amity & Luz shouted respectively.

They were loud enough this time that Willow & Hunter stopped for a moment to stare in their direction. When the two caught eyes with the kitchen party Willow put up a finger to her lips to shush them jokingly & Hunter put up a far more vulgar finger before turning back to his book.

Luz stuck out her tongue at him, but he was no longer paying attention. 

“You two bicker like me & Lily used to,” laughed Eda.

“Pff-” Raine chuckled. “Used to?”

“That’s beside the point,” Luz said. “What really matters is-” she paused to gesture again to the window & Amity mimicked the motion. “Are we looking at the same two people?”

“I don’t know, Luz, are we?” Raine replied with a smile. “Because all I see are two happy kids.”

Luz’ resolve faltered as Raine took another sip of their drink. “Well yeah but-” she turned to Amity in place of a response.

“They’d be perfect together!”

“Aren’t they perfect together as they are now?” Eda replied. “As best friends?”

“But,” Amity started but her resolve breaking as well. She looked from Eda to Luz to Raine & back to Eda. “You & Raine were best friends for years too before you started dating, right?”

“Well yeah but-” Eda paused. “That was different.”

“How?” asked Luz.

Eda paused for a moment. Unable to find the right words she turned to Raine for a response. Raine thought for a breath. 

“It was different for Eda & I.” Raine said as they placed down their mug & walked closer to the window. The rest followed them. “Back then, it felt like there was something missing for us. Like our relationship wasn’t complete.”

They all looked at the window quietly.

Hunter had sat up on his knees & was trying to pull his fingers though his hair to get out the short glades of grass Willow had woven into it.  Willow was laying on her side laughing hard as Hunter chided her for her actions, but he too was laughing. 

He hit her shoulder lightly with his book a few times before she conceded to undo her masterpiece. Once they stopped laughing at least.

“Does it look like they’re incomplete?” asked Raine softly.

Luz smiled, “I guess not.”
