I was working on a bigger skintone chart but I noticed something very... concerning.

Woolsey is the darkest character in all of Hoyoverse - A MINOR NPC. So here's a smaller chart.

I love Woolsey to bits and he's my favorite character so far, but it's not fair that a NPC that people have only seen like once or twice with like 5 voicelines get more melanin than *anyone else*.

I'm not sure if I'll finish the expanded chart today (which includes all Natlan and Sumeru characters minus Wanderer, plus more NPCs), but I just needed to throw this out there because... something about this feels really bad. Anyone else is free to make a similar chart.

I just don't know what to say. Feel free to add more to this thread, such as NPCs with darker skintones.

They cry as they hold the sword to your throat, they cry so much you would've thought you were dreaming. But you weren't, and the pain was real, so very real and you couldn't even cry. "I loved you..." were the last words they heard before your lifeless body fell into their arms.

Now tell me why Simeon, who is a freaking angel (spoilers: well not anymore) from Obey Me, which is originally a dating sim has a brown skin tone compared to the majority of the genshin cast where it's supposedly inspired by cultures or cities with a lot of dark or tan skinned people. Skin Representation IS IMPORTANT 🤗 cause look at this:

I have a beef with solmare especially with how many dumbass decisions they've made but I'll give them credit where credit's due

Guess I've glazed twst a lot when it comes to character designs but damn at least they TRY to be somewhat accurate and at least HAVE more than 1 characters with MELANIN (I think they should give these characters even darker skin tone but it's better than whatever genshin was trying to do with their playable characters ig) 😭 I know it's not a perfect game as it has problems and flaws (Whoever approved of Leona's whitewashed liongarb groovy card I will haunt you, especially since the cloud calling festival event is happening in english server) but you can see the creators actually try to properly portray representation in-game unlike SOME COMPANY

yapping a bit:

you should neutralize the colors of your images before slapping on this psd for optimal results. what i mean is make them all roughly the same brightness/contrast/saturation. this goes for most coloring psds honestly.

this psd specifically works to darken skin tones, especially in thought of... (looks at smudged writing on hand). certain hoyo characters who tend to be whitewashed. as long as your character's skin tone isn't pure white, this psd will actually darken them. so you know, keep that in mind.

I just love how the fact when Mihoyo first started Genshin they were all about wanting players to have this experience and amazement of entering each regions and sharing different cultures. But fast forward to Sumeru and Natlan all they did was created a racist and colorist fandom

Exactly, like genshin at first had so much promise, same with all their other games- but now I just see with honkai Star rail, and Zenless zone zero that they just release one token black/ tan character on launch and call it a day :/ and like the racists of the fandom just go “HERE??? ISNT THIS ENOUGH???” And it’s like Arlan who has a bad kit for meta, talents with slavery references, and straight up a whitewashed emote.

Halloween Headcanons (Months early lol)

My last post was such a flop I heard the crickets chirping before I even got on tumblr omg

Since nobody is giving me ideas, I'm just gonna do short n sweet headcanons on one (at least) character from each of the fandoms I'm in... Or at least the ones I can remember. Idk why but I can't wait until spooky month so we're doing Halloween-themed HCs!!!!!! I frickin' love the holidays :D

I won't be using images in my post this time just because I'm like half asleep and I need to yap. (I have no energy and I must yap /ref)

First up, Jason Todd! (Batman)

I think he'd avoid dressing up for trick or treating because his fave is Wonder Woman... Bro's not about to traumatize every child that sees him. However, if he is craving candy hard enough, he'd go in a lazier or goofy costume. You know those unicorn onesies? That's for if he isn't in the mood for ghits and shiggles. An inflatable dinosaur costume is his go-to if he's in a better mood.

I bet he'd have everything planned, too. He knows where all the rich people are and which ones give out the full-sized candy bars or any cool light up toys that make little kids jealous because they have no idea where to find them at.

If he were to go trick or treating with anyone, I think it'd probably be the Batfam as a whole (They don't trust him with not stealing some kid's candy bucket).

Next, Touya Todoroki! (MHA)

This is an AU one where he isn't dying because I don't want him to die (Insert sob emoji).

Since Enji himself is in a wheelchair, he isn't able to push Touya around. He was absolutely devastated by that and begged Natsuo and Fuyumi to take their older brother out to trick or treat since Shoto was with his friends.

Touya would either do a costume to heal his inner child or a lazier one that's comfortable and doesn't irritate his skin. Either way, he's demanding that they go to every house around no matter how long it takes. Any time he gets candy he doesn't like, he asks Natsuo to trade with him LOL

At the end of the night, Enji has to lock away the candy so Touya doesn't scarf it all down and get a stomach ache. He does anyway since it was 'hidden' in the same spot it had always been.

Onto Arlan! (HSR)

My boy doesn't get enough love <3

I think his excitement after hearing about Halloween's existence would be enough to convince the spaceship to set up little stalls for him, Asta, MC, and Peppy to run around to collect candy. He and Asta would probably have matching costumes like ketchup and mustard bottles or pb and j or something cute like that. Or it'd be a three-way deal since Asta would dress Peppy up in some cute little costume.

Arlan would definitely sit on the floor with Asta and MC and trade candies so they each get what they wanted. Asta would have some dog treats for Peppy so they weren't left out :)

At the night's end, Arlan would probably be caught falling asleep, still in costume with a half-eaten candy bar in hand.

Now, Bennett! (Genshin Impact)

He, Razor, Chongyun, and XIngqiu would get together and go out trick or treating. He tried to convince Fischl to go with, but she refused, claiming it was far too childish for someone of her status. That meant "Please bring me back some sweets".

He had a bag specifically for Fischl :)

As the night went on, the boys managed to have good luck. Bennett had never been happier since he was internally horrified of ruining the others' night by only getting raisins, toothbrushes, and apples or having someone's bag rip.

All went well and everyone got a pretty good amount of candy. Even Fischl.

Yap session is done! I kinda wanted to do DMCB stuff or Steven Universe stuff, but my creativity juice ran out. I hope y'all liked this one :D I'll probably do another one when it's actually October. (evaporates I FORGOT JJK oh well)

“Brother Arlan.” Another attack, another scar to add to the growing lines of many yet to fully heal. He grunts when you tightly secure a particularly nasty wound on his side with fresh bandages. Quickly, the white fabric soaks in crimson, a deep scarlet different from the pink of his eyes. “You really need to rest more… you're just going to keep getting hurt at this rate. What if you reopen old scars? Then all of this really would be worthless.” While Arlan stresses enough he can manage on his own, you're stubborn enough to persist on medically assisting him regardless.

Of which, he has to deal with your criticisms on how hard he's working himself. He doesn't look you in the eyes when you scold him, staring somewhere off to the void. You're starting to believe he genuinely sees things you can't.

You understand his importance to the space station, but you can't wrap your head around the fact he really is the only competent fighter. Perhaps if anyone had even a quarter of his work ethic, he wouldn't need to beat himself to the ground in this manner all the time. “You know I can't.” he mutters with a furrow of his brows, of guilt or shame, you can't tell. “I'm responsible for the safety of everyone here. I'll be more careful next time, promise.” A promise he's made many times that he cannot keep. You want to say something, scold him more, maybe then he'd learn to be a little more selfish.

It’s a shame you’re not as eccentric as him, usually you’re not the person he hangs out with regularly. Maybe if you were a little more outspoken, you could see him more. After all, you didn't want to see these rampant nocturnal emissions as your heart yearning for a face too blurry for you to remember by the morning. They felt too real, to the point that when your alarm forced you to jolt awake, you'd faintly feel a dull, excited throbbing between your legs. Who else would know better than Ga-Ming? With his reputation, surely he has to have some… kind of experience. Ahh, why are you even thinking about that? Stop, stop…

Even if he's the only one closest to you, you felt a little awkward, kicking your legs forward in your seat, “I mean like… they’re a little…” Just thinking about it brings heat to your face, butterflies squirming in your chest. You're beginning to backtrack, was it really necessary to tell him? But if you don't tell him now then these strange visions will just eat you up inside. Who knows when you'll get to have him alone like this as well? He's so well-liked that anybody would rush to greet him. The perfect opportunity stands right in front of you. Your hesitance doesn't go unnoticed by him either, the silence permitted by you enough to make him put his bowl down.

“You have that look on your face,” he smiles, “It must be something big, huh?” You flinch in your seat, hand reaching to touch your cheek. “M-my face? What look? I have a look?!”

Recently, there's a strange phenomenon with adventurers acting rather frivolously within their first few days of staying in Liyue. The Adventurer's Guild only put up a commission till now in order to gain insight on why this has become common. It pays a handsome sum, which is really the only reason you decided to investigate it.

“It certainly is strange…” Chongyun mumbles, having stopped you midway through your journey for a chat. Surprisingly, he didn't realize this was so common till now. He even informed you that, sometimes, while he is training, a few travelers would stumble upon him and behave strangely. The best way he could describe their attitude towards him was, quote, “drunken, like when I succumb to my yang energy.”

The signs, from what's been reported already and Chongyun's own input: heavy breathing, flushed face, shaking limbs, and dilated eyes. “Do you think it could be the work of an evil spirit?” Chongyun suggested, his interest prevalent in those icy eyes of his. You raise a brow, “What makes you say that?” Was it genuine delusion or another trick from a certain bookworm? The way you see it, frequent salacious behavior had nothing to do with evil spirits. Unless he was implying that acting that way was because of the work of demons…
