EDIT: I MIXED UP NEKOMATA AND CANDACE'S SKINTONES! The bottom-left gradient chart has them correct, but the one on the top had them mixed up because I reordered them by value. Sorry about that!

I was working on a bigger skintone chart but I noticed something very... concerning.

Woolsey is the darkest character in all of Hoyoverse - A MINOR NPC. So here's a smaller chart.

I love Woolsey to bits and he's my favorite character so far, but it's not fair that a NPC that people have only seen like once or twice with like 5 voicelines get more melanin than *anyone else*.

I'm not sure if I'll finish the expanded chart today (which includes all Natlan and Sumeru characters minus Wanderer, plus more NPCs), but I just needed to throw this out there because... something about this feels really bad. Anyone else is free to make a similar chart.

I just don't know what to say. Feel free to add more to this thread, such as NPCs with darker skintones.

I hope we get more dreampeek calls in future updates. Especially for past characters that don't have much lore like Qingque and Luka. It's nice getting little scraps of characterisation!

Also, I love how the consumables look in Penacony! They're so fun and colourful! I just had to draw the two of them interacting with the items.

saddest thing in penacony (no spoilers dw)

❌ 2.0 main story ✅ that random side quest with the shopkeeper HOLY FUCK THAT WAS SO SAD. that's genuinely the saddest piece of writing in the entirety of star rail. high-cloud quintet who, this shopkeeper npc takes the cake for most depressed character

So I stumbled into Cocona's thing last night. If you know, you know.

Giving the option to not stop her was incredibly brave of the writers, no sarcasm. It made the fact that I did feel like it actually meant something.

I had to just put the game down afterwards and take it in. I know logically it won't do anything, but I'm going to keep checking in on her.

HSR PENACONY SPOILERS

So I just finished the Cocona sidequest and I held on three times and let go the fourth because I thought that the game wouldn’t let the event move forward unless I switched tactics and now I just want to crawl into a ditch and cry.

Also the sidequest itself resonated with me on numerous personal levels, both good and bad, and I don’t think I’m going to be the same ever again.
