I appreciate how the starting team Zenless Zone Zero gives you is an odd jobs agency, because you can take them on literally any sidequest and have it still make sense with the story. You never need suffer the common gacha game dissonance of going on a quest with characters who have no reason to do so, because for the Cunning Hares the reason is always "it's an odd job we got hired for."

To make it even better, they're also the kind of hypercompetent goofballs who you can invest heavily into upgrading until they're stronger than outlaw kings and elite special forces without it being strange that the story or other characters don't acknowledge their awesome power. Being the biggest badasses in New Eridu while getting zero recognition for it is perfectly in-character for them

Ah ok! So can I request Lycaon, Koleda, Ben, & Nekomata with male reader (platonic or romantic, up to you)

Imagine this, male reader is short and wears an oversized jacket, has a sweet and timid personality, and kinda has the personality of a grandma. With the way he acts, they just assumed that he’s a young adult or something.

And then male reader casually mentions his 17 year old son on a random conversation. Imagine their shock when they realize that:

1) male reader is his early 30’s

2) He’s a single father; he adopted the son

3) (Just for humor) It’s implied that he’s part of a hollow gang but reader is too innocent to realize it XD

Okay Lycaon needed to know how you were

You told him your were in your early 30's

"Okay Lycaon, everything is in good condition" You smiled up at him, Lycaon smiled back

"Thank you Name for helping me" Lycaon spoke,

"You know you remind me of my son"

"Son?"

"Yeah my 17 year old son, you remind me of him"

"I'm trying not to be rude, but how old are you Name?"

"30 years old? Why?"

"Oh.. I thought you were much younger than that, Apologies"

"It's okay, Everyone thinks I'm a child, so you aren't the only one"

Koleda Belobog

This girl would be shocked, like shocked shocked

She literally thought you were like in your teens

Like of how you act and how timid and shy you were

But when you mentioned something about your son

A son? 17 years old?!

Huh!?

"Hey Name! Can you come here for a second!" Koleda yelled out

"Coming!" You hurried over, "What is it President?"

"I like you to help me with something"

"Sure, What is it?"

"Do you know anything about technology, Grace is off somewhere helping the proxy wit a mission, ben is out getting more supplies while Anton is busy fixing his bro"

"I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with technology, But my son can"

"Son? Wait you have a son!?"

"Yeah, he's my adopted 17 years old, he loves to do technology stuff"

"How old even are you!?"

"30.. Why?"

Koleda was beyond shocked

"Koleda?"

"And you never told me this?!"

"Umm.. Didn't you know?"

"No, I thought you were in your teens, Is there something else I don't know?"

"Umm, I am in a hollow gang"

"WHAT!"

Ben Bigger

Poor guy, he would be so confused

He literally thought your were much younger than 30 years old

Maybe because how you had a personality of a nice 13 year old

Or how you dressed

But know he knows right?

"Oh Name, There you are. I was looking for you" Ben spoke

"Sorry, My son needed help with something"

"Huh? You have a son?"

"Yeah, I have a adopted 17 year old son, you never knew?"

"I- I thought you were.. May I ask how old you are Name?"

"30.. I thought you knew"

"Sorry! I thought you were much younger than that!"

He apologized over and over again

This girl would be surprised but kind of knew

Like she's a cat, this girl is slippery in some situations

She would know that you had a son

But she didn't actually think your son was 17 years old

But she knew you were around in your late 20's to early 30's

But one things she didn't know was you being in a hollow gang

"Hey name, May I ask you something?" Nekomata came up to you

"Oh, sure. What is it?"

"I would like to know more about your son, if that's not to weird"

"Oh, you knew I had a son?"

"Yeah, I knew quite a while"

"Oh well, He's 17 years old and that he is going school, nothing to special

damn 17 years old

"And how old are you when you adopted him?"

"Um.. I think 13.."

"So you're like 30 years old?!"

"Yeah.. I though you knew, don't you also know about me being in a hollow gang too?"

"What! No!"

I didn't really know what to write but here you go

[Anby stands in front of Corin, silently appraising her with a piercing stare. She circles the poor maid like a herding dog] Corin, fidgeting: Um... M-Ms. Anby...? Anby, coming to a stop behind her: We don't look similar.. but we have similar design elements... hm. Corin: How- How do you figure? [The smaller Demara gestures to each attribute as she talks] Anby: We both have black skirts, straps connected to our footwear, screws, backpacks, we both fight with blades, and have bits of red... You have green hair, I wear a green jacket.. we're both freebie characters- Corin: I'm sorry, we're what- Anby, ignoring her: -you even have a belt chain like Billy. You should be a Hare. [Corin sputters] Corin, frazzled: That- That's a very generous offer, Ms. Anby- but I already have a job! With Victoria Housekeeping! I can't- I can't just quit- Anby: Work both. Corin: I have school-! [There's a few seconds of silence, and Anby huffs in displeasure- which makes Corin squeak] Anby: ...an honorary Hare, then. Corin, calming slightly: Hon-honorary Hare..? Like that one game with the Knights? [Billy peeks around the corner] [Anby nods] Corin: ....okay [Anby makes Billy put a little braid in Corin's hair, but with a white cap instead of green one.]

Facts about the Cunning Hares for fans to grab, those facts are canon

Fact number 1, the car the Cunning Hares use has a name, Old Smokey.

Don't even think of them replacing it too

As you can see Billy is really attached to her. Don't break his heart please.

Fact number 2, the Cunning Hares have a tradition that when they do a successful commission they have celebrative snacks, per Nicole's orders.

Oh and yes Nicole actually gives Anby a list that Anby actually follows, and it's not her appetite, it's really Nicole's. XD

Pretty sure none of those are healthy, but again, snacks. XD

Ok so this one is general to Thirens but given Nekomata is one, this one concerns her, I'm surprised there is that in the game.

Thirens are intolerent to caffeine, so if Nekomata drinks coffee she might get heart problems in the future, guess that also applies to Hoshimi Miyabi and Ben Bigger.

And those were my little canon facts literally taken from the games that I took pictures of when playing the games concerning the Cunning Hares, so I hope it helps some writters if you wonder about them, the car is Old Smokey, they don't want to replace her, they have celebrative snacks for when they do a successful job and Nekomata shouldn't be allowed anywhere near coffee.

Always little details like that that builds up more of the world, seems a bit pointless but I always feel closer to the characters knowing tiny little thing like that, I love how Billy is protective of their ride and Nicole likes to treat them to snacks for when the team does a good job (even if Billy can't eat but Nekomata will appreciate I'm sure) and Nekomata will have health trouble if she has coffee, I feel closer to them. <3

Edit: So I reread the last photo, it actually says that SOME Thirens are intolerant to coffee, so maybe Nekomata is safe, or maybe not either, it might be something that develop over time, and maybe Ben and Lycaon are safe too, or not and it does says that it's what the latest research says, so it's recent news that probably hasn't been seen by every thirens yet. But well, now it's more muddled, so if people want to make Ben, Nekomata and Lycaon intolerant to coffee in their fics, well guess you can have it your way for your stories sake.

something I’ve noticed about the cunning hares is that only nicole looks like she belongs there.

billy is speculated to have ties to the sons of calydon

anby is speculated to be related to soldier 11

and nekomata straight up comes from the red fang gang

only nicole, the leader, looks like she belongs (pink hair + twintails that look like rabbit ears)
