I’ve seen multiple posts about the ibuprofen and Buck’s allergy to naproxen and people thinking they’ve connected the dots, but the thing is

an allergy to naproxen does not inherently mean an allergy or sensitivity to ibuprofen

yes, they’re both NSAIDs but they differ in chemical structures. Allergic reactions to NSAIDs typically occur because of a sensitivity to the drug’s specific structure, so a person may react to one NSAID but tolerate another.

in fact, if someone has a known sensitivity to naproxen, doctors may recommend using a different NSAID like ibuprofen

You know what. I’ve realised a massive part of why I dislike tommy so much!

He’s a shape shifter.

Think about it for a moment. We know next to nothing about this dude because he just shifts into whatever role he needs to play for whomever he’s with. We know he was military but have zero context beyond that but it’s implied he was the ‘perfect’ soldier.

Under Gerrard he’s a bigoted misogynistic racist homophobe.

Gerrard leaves and he magically becomes someone who can fit in with the 118 under Bobby.

Leaves the 118 and we don’t know what he’s up to.

Reappears on the scene when the firefam show up at the hangar and becomes what they need him to be in that moment.

Is essentially actively pursuing Eddie but is quick to switch to buck when it’s clear he’s an easier target. Drops buck when bucks not ready with zero explanation but is happy to go along with what buck wants when he calls him.

Man doesn’t have a personality of his own because he just shifts into whatever he needs to be for whoever he needs to be it for.

The faultlines revealed in the BuckTommy breakup are not just shown in Buck moving faster than Tommy's pace/asking Tommy to move in with him rather than having a discussion about moving in together, but also in Tommy's reaction. The "you'll break my heart" speech shows affection, but it also shows a lack of trust and respect. Tommy doesn't take Buck's stated feelings and wants seriously because Tommy assumes his greater experience with men outweighs any ability of Buck to make his own judgement and/or Tommy is too busy projecting his intimacy issues onto the relationship to actually listen to Buck rather than his own biases. And maybe Buck rushing ahead in this moment gives him reason to question Buck's judgement, but rather than stating his own thoughts and having a discussion about it, Tommy dismisses the relationship entirely with the framing that Buck is intrinsically incapable of being a good partner to him and will inevitably hurt Tommy (and this is a problem specifically with dating Buck rather than a normal risk of emotionally deep relationships). And the whole setup is a mirror to their first conflict: Tommy walks out on the first date because he unilaterally decides Buck isn't ready (distinctly framing it as being intrinsic to Buck and Tommy who knows better doing him a favour, rather than Tommy acting on his own relationship preference or him choosing not to be with somebody at that stage of their journey or saying [not unreasonably] he was uncomfortable with Buck's actions after Eddie arrived). Buck gets carried away and says things without thinking through the consequences, but Tommy reacts to situations that would require him to resolve an emotional conflict by deflecting the entire thing onto the other party.

Neither side of the conflict is insurmountable but it is a conflict which has to be untangled from both sides because Buck needs to resist being a steamroller of impulsive overcompensating, but they also can't build a functional relationship if Buck is permanently on thin ice trying to avoid the next misstep which will make Tommy react with 'this is uncomfortable so there must be something wrong with you and this relationship could never work'.

I just finished reading Garden in My Heart and it was beautiful, your writing made me cry with happiness. I haven't felt emotions in a fic for so long and it was worth every second. The letters that Gale wrote to John are beautiful, the way you wrote to Bucky is magnificent, I can feel his emotions, his feelings, his anguish at thinking that his loved one didn't love him, I felt his happiness when Buck left him. So in London arc, we're gonna see Buck gifting Bucky one more gift (this I've already spoiled in one of my other asks so I'll give a few better spoilers)

It's not going to be solely Bucky's POV, I think. I want to write at least a portion of it in Gale's. I'm still in planning stages right now (I honestly took a mental health day away from my writing today after pouring so much soul into Courting Fic) but I know that Gale will have his own little section to wax poetic about his Omega. He's going to worry about Bucky so much once he sees how much this war is taking from them all.

I will be including the Bucky pregnancy scare because honestly the idea makes me laugh, and London Arc will be kinda heartbreaking as Bucky starts to feel the effects of the war.

I may (may I say, this is set not in stone it's just in my planning doc) include a heat scene. Bucky will have an interesting time, and if I do include it, this will set up a parallel that will be seen in Stalag Arc.

And! We'll get to see more of Brady! The fandom assigned baby bro of Bucky will appear, and he will be so over the lovestruck mooning of the Bucks. (I only included him in one line in courting fic because I needed to focus on my main trio my apologies Brady fans) he's one of my favorites as well and I'll be setting up his bigger role in Stalag Arc.
