for Nessus and pan to be in my 7th house i do attract those type of people. lustful, predatory men. but like in my actual relationships to.

thoughts on how oshi no ko has portrayed what happened to hikaru (thus far) and any ideas for what his motives/role in the story is?

Honestly? I think it's doing a pretty good job of portraying it. TW for discussions of childhood sexual abuse below.

When it's first introduced to us that Hikaru was raped by the adult actress, Aqua doesn't have much reaction. On an intellectual level, he gets it, but on an emotional level in terms of what this means for Hikaru, for his development and for his pain, he doesn't get it at all. It's only when we get to Akane's expressed horror ("that's sick!") that we get an actual reaction.

The previous chapter was honestly acting and a flashback as it actually happened, and I appreciated that they showed it as violent.

That's something so often missing from stories of older women who rape younger boys (see Mary Kay Letourneau). It's not a love story. He's not lucky. It's violence.

Like, I spoke about this with a friend after the chapter, but the wiki literally says he was "implied to have been raped." Implied? He was ELEVEN.

I don't think the wiki writers are intentionally being obtuse or dismissive, but there is a subconscious way in which a lot of the world, across cultures, reacts to female predators of young boys in a way that is incongruent with how we react to men who prey on young girls. And to be fair, the latter is a far more prevalent issue but still.

So anyways, I was grateful the final panel of the flashback showed Hikaru being dragged, violently, away from a girl his own age whom he likes by an older woman who won't even introduce his son as his son. Anything Hikaru has, he cannot have.

I've written about Hikaru before, but yeah, he's a scary serial killer at this point who is likely going to target Ruby and/or Kana. He's a final antagonist, obviously, and his past abuses don't excuse him. He's somewhat modeled after Lucifer, and not the Hazbin Hotel version.

But I don't think Aqua's final challenge is stopping Hikaru.

Aqua playing Hikaru in these scenes is challenging him to do what playing Ai has provoked Ruby to do: to empathize and further understand their parents. But, the problem is that Aqua can relate to Hikaru's anger and hatred already.

Again, as I wrote previously, Aqua already is very much like Hikaru (albeit at a far earlier stage): trying to reenact and kill the perceived causes of his trauma and not able to see that he's not going to be happy with such an ending because you can't kill your way to peace.

What Aqua actually needs to do is to come to understand Ai. Ruby, imo, is the one who will come to understand Hikaru, and probably forgive him (not excuse, but this is very likely where it's going).

Ai seemed to, after all. She reached out to Hikaru's proxy (the stalker) and definitely recognized the white roses and knew who had sent him.

Yet she still reached out to her stalker as a human being and empathized with him after he had stabbed her.

If it had been Hikaru standing there himself, she would have done the same.

And lest we think this is solely an example of her toxic wanting-to-please-people trait taking control, this was also the moment--the only moment in Ai's life--where she was finally able to express herself without a lie. It can be both an indictment of the entertainment industry prioritizing pleasing others over your own life and pain and Ai's moment of triumph even amidst tragedy.

Hence again why Aqua's challenge is to understand his mother, not to kill his father as justice for her. He needs to recognize her love for him as her son. She wanted him to live. She wanted him to love. She didn't want him to obsess over her in death.

Ruby, on the other hand, needs to understand Hikaru... and Aqua. Thus far, while she's had the best growth of everyone in this entire series, she is still idolizing Sensei and Aqua thereby.

She needs to see him as a person just as Aqua needs to see Ai as a person. Seeing Hikaru's anger and pain and seeing Aqua's go hand in hand for Ruby (again, not a coincidence Aqua is playing young Hikaru in the movie).

As for where Hikaru goes from there, I don't know. He might end his own life like the stalker proxy did, but I think the fact that that's already happened makes it less likely. He might find new life even if like, in prison, or he might die sacrificing himself for his kids. It's too early to make those exact predictions... but I think Ruby understanding him and empathizing is key.

okay so I don‘r play DBD. frankly, I’d rather shuck myself like a cob of corn than subject myself to whatever nonsense rhe game’s playerbase is up to. the lore’s not my thing and some of the character choices make me wrinkle. but I like horror things and I have a vague understanding of how they play. and I have some opinions. so i’ll throw them here.

evan macmillian - the trapper

i am excruciatingly neutral on this guy. he is kind of John Killer, which makes sense for how much I dgaf, but still. his mask is cool as fuck, but his lore really doesn’t resonate with me. trapping is a fun gimmick but apparently he lends himself to a lot of campy playstyles, which doesn’t sound too fun. he just exists to me.

philip ojomo - the wraith

this guy’s just really downright miserable. he doesn’t even wanna be here. he just wants to work at a Denny’s and live alone with a cat or whatever. invisibility is neat and the big stupid bell ring for whenever he does it is really funny though. cool guy I just feel bad for his existence

iunno this guys concept and lore just rub me the wrong way. just feels tone-deaf. much like wraith i think we should just leave this guy alone and let him farm in peace. he’s had a rough go of it. letting him be just some normal guy would make everything feel less. ew.

oh YEAH baby. this guy’s my MAN. he’s a complete SHITHEAD and is TERRIBLE and he’s very fun to watch. Electroshock Andy over here is the giggliest guy on campus and has some really funny builds and gimmicks and is also unreasonably complicated. jumpscare doctor is so fucking funny plus electricity themes are cool even if it is the endlessly fucked up existence of electroshock therapy and military-funded abuse, but what is horror without being a little slice of messed up reality? I never want to go near this man in my life.

anna - the huntress

I like her!! she’s pretty and fucked up. i like predator/prey motifs and she’s got a nice voice. my fav thing about her is the existence of orbital huntress. hilarious as hell. you can just cross-map bean someone with a hatchet to their skull. fuck yeah.

AITA for encouraging kids to lie about their age online?

Okay, so, to make one thing clear, I know I can go a bit overboard when it comes to online safety, particularly with children's/teenagers online safety.

I grew up lying about my age, my friends lying about their age, and even though I'm now a legal adult [19F], I still lie about being older online to keep 40+ year old creeps who are into teenagers/young 20 year olds off my back.

I truly believe me lying about my age has saved me from being target by predators online growing up because in real life where I can't lie about my age, I was target by predators from when I started puberty early at six years old to even now since I do have a rather bad baby face and look about 14 according to my friends.

Why thankfully I have had just enough education and maturity to know how to advoid engaging these creeps in real life, I was also way too trusting of people who seemed my age, and if online someone lied to me about their age I would have likely feel prey to their abuse.

And so one thing I absolutely loath about this new internet culture is minors, be it actually little kids or teenagers, just being comfortable about saying their age.

Like, it puts a huge target on their back that allows any predator to go "ah, they're in my prefered age group to abuse!" and lie about their own age to seem younger and to know which kids they want to target to groom and abuse.

And so, every month or so I make a bunch safety posts. I use studies and stories shared with me to encourage kids to be safer online and to just lie about their age. People have taken to reblogging these posts, adding their own stories, making their own posts, etc.

This however has gotten me a lot of backlash recently by a lot of fellow adults who just don't want minors following them, and by adults who create more mature content so to speak.

They do make some good points about having a right to a boundary, and to not wanting minors to see their more risky content for comfort and/or legal reasons, but frankly I have always cared about minors safety more then anything.

And so I would argued back that minors already are and have been since the internet came to be lying about their ages, and that as long as their is a disclaimer that any mature content is made for adults and by proceeding to view it you are saying your adult [even if you aren't] will 99.9% of the time keep any any legal issues away, and most importantly, minor's safety comes before any adult's sense comfort.

But because of this, a lot of adult accounts be it sfw accounts that just wanted space away from minors and not so sfw accounts in my particular fandom space have been deactivating due to an increasing about of minors taking their ages out of their bios and posts and/or lying about their ages.

I feel bad because it was never my intention to drive adults out. I just wanted kids to be smarter and safer online, not for adults, the main driving force of this particular fandom to start to widdle out.

Minors have been sneakily looking at mature material since forever, and it's something a lot of artists and writers use to accept that. And not only that, there was a sort of acceptance back when I was younger that it was healthy outlet for minors to sneakily cope with their hormones by quietly looking at it since they were fully in control of that experience.

I figured it would just go back to that, to adults learning how to cope with their own discomfort for the sake of minors being safe, but instead they're raging about minors breaking boundaries, getting porn addictions, etc, and leaving to other social medias.

I feel horrible for making so many adults uncomfortable to the point of leaving, and now I can't help but wonder if I should have tried a different approach to helping minors be safer that didn't upset the current/modern[?] adult artist and writers?

At the end of the day, minors being safer is more important, but surely that must have been a different way that I'm just not able to see right now that I could have taken?

So really, AITA for not being more tactful in handling this issue of minors being to open online and causing a lot of unnecessary discomfort?

Sixthly, it is rather because women--and some others but it's primarily women--have been trying to use how she dresses, acts, does makeup, pointed out infinitesimla details about how she looks that this reveals itself as not about justice but women taking the opportunity to drag a rich famous woman bc they eiter ate er or te privilege she has & they desire. Will claim they are making things "fair", but they also will not be a part of any activist movement that would actually work towards fixing society's ills--okay, how are you really any different from her or actually in a morally superior position when you don't actively do things outside of yourself? They want to have permission to treat a woman how they treat her privately or out of the public sphere.

I am going to die soon of kidney failure and long covid complications.

I just want to state for the record that I would have lived decades longer if not for Benjamin Thomas Sterrett. He is a predator.

His first romantic relationship was when he moved out of state and decided to lie to someone from his home town about his age so that they'd think it was appropriate to do sexual things with him in role play online, specifically on mudd.

She only found out the truth because they moved back into town. He has always pursued women who are masculine in some way, and he always chooses a woman with a neurodevelopmental disorder.

While we together he financially and emotionally abused me. I begged him, my therapist and my psychiatrist tried to convince him, to put me in in-patient psychiatric care because I could not function. Instead he called his sister whom I barely know who drove two hours distance to air on the back porch with me pouring me shots of liquor while talking about her own emotional problems.

Alcohol makes my deformed kidney experience extreme pain. It was his solution for my insomnia. I couldn't figure out why for the duration of our relationship I was having PTSD related night terrors about what happened to me when I was 11, 12, and 13. Then I had this pain inside of me and I thought it had to do with my kidney problems. I could barely walk. I went to the doctor and after several they finally looked inside my vagina where I had an inconceivably large hematoma. My doctor drained it of old blood and asked me if I had been raped. I couldn't even remember the last time we had had sex. He had been feeding me alcohol to "help" with my insomnia and then raping me in my sleep while I dreamt about being raped as a prepubescent child.

When I refused to drink alcohol after that he and our neighbor went on a six month long campaign to convince me to smoke weed. It did help, it also helped with my daily autistic meltdowns (from having to act like a neurotypical single mother when I am severely disabled and their father/my partner lived with us). So he would wait until all of it was gone and then get more days later, making sure I spent days melting down and not sleeping in between relief I had to rely on him for.

Finally my psychiatric team and I figured out that I am autistic. Ben acted like the information was earth shattering. He said all the right things. But after six months, nothing had changed. Everything was still entirely dependent on me, an autistic person with high support needs and deformed internal organs causing constant pain. I sat him down one day and I said I needed for him to start acting like I was autistic. He said,

"It sounds like you want me to leave."

I said,

"No, if you leave to me that would be the end our of our marriage and I don't want that."

He left. He moved half an hour away into a one bedroom apartment even though he made well over six figures, and we have three children. He was emotionally abusive openly in ways I could spot easily now. I would say things like "I need to know you know I can do this without you." And he would say "but I don't know that mae." Again, he is the one who left and not only did he leave he left to a place where the kids could not stay comfortably, an hours drive there and back, he left a high support needs physically disabled autistic person to take care of three kids 10 and under by themselves and then went onto the internet or anywhere anyone who knew us both went to cry and complain about how sad he was about his marriage ending.

Every other day, a different woman would message me to ask me why I was doing this to Ben. Every single one was skeptical at the idea that he was the one who left. I am autistic and I was having to have this conversation on a regular basis because of the lies Ben was telling everyone.

Two years later, Ben finally managed to get into a sexual relationship with someone five years younger than him who was living with their long term partner of many years who thought they were monogamous. I got to find out because they would have sex in that one bedroom apartment while the kids were all there. They would come home talking about how they saw Hanna naked or they asked their dad if he was dating Hanna but they're just good friends who love each other because Hanna has a boyfriend.

Six months after they started dating one night at nine, Ben told the kids he was going to take out the trash. He left the apartment with no trash. And hour later my kids were texting me because he had been gone for an hour and wasn't answering their calls or text. At 10:30 at night I got to his apartment to find all three of my kids terrified and him no where to be seen. It's okay though Hanna yelled at me in court that she knew he was "there" because she "was with him."

For a month, the kids would not go to his apartment because they were afraid he'd leave them again. Eventually I let them go back until in December my middle child let me know that every time Hanna called Dad, a naked picture of her came up on the child's iPad. Because Ben and Hanna think it is okay to set naked photos of people as their caller ID photo when there are children around (or at work I guess, that's fine too.)

Our middle child during this time period before disclosing why, had begun to self harm. I had them in therapy which is where they disclosed about the naked pictures and the beginning of self harm. I stopped forcing the kids to go over there at this point. For six months every time they were asked by their father to come over they told they did not want to go. So Ben and Hanna decided to take us to court.

We told the court about the abandonment of the children, and the exposure to homemade pornography. That earned them 50/50 custody because that sister who came to sit on my back porch and pour alcohol down my throat came to testify that she had "witnessed" my being suicidal and that suicidal people "aren't safe around children." She was along with her sister, btw, molested by her father before puberty, a fact they disclosed to Ben when I was pregnant. Ben's response was to still insist that our female children visit with and be around his pedophile father. He and his friends shamed me and rolled their eyes at me for not wanting him around the kids and refusing to let the kids be alone with him, a man who had molested his own children.

In court, we agreed to not sell the house the children and I were still living in until the youngest turned 18. One year later, our youngest is 10 and he has evicted us from our home so that he can sell it. He is telling everyone he knows it is because it is "unsafe for the children" to live there. The house was inspected during the court proceedings and found to be safe and clean. He has told the children it is because he has 65k in tax debt because he committed fraud. He also bought two of them apple laptops for Christmas, so I don't believe money is the reason. He just wants to harm me. Before we went to court, he was paying me 400 dollars for child support monthly. During court he made sure he wouldn't have to pay for all three (the oldest is biologically not his, met him at 1.5 and calls him dad and has a dead beat bio dad who pays no support.) When he began talking about selling the house it was made clear to him that I was not physically healthy enough to survive the move. I had been pissing and shitting blood since we moved. I have no access to medical care and if I make it to February (it is late December) it will be a shock.

This post does not get into the details of his emotional abuse or the state of the house when he lived here or the apartment when the kids had to be over there (because they have a disabled mother).

To answer your question, I think Sans would be very skilled in modulating his voice.

I imagine him being an expert in communication - that means not only having an uncanny ability to read your face like an open book, but also being able to masterfully control his own expression and the message that his voice and his body language send.

It's deep, of course, but with a totally unique timbre. I have never heard any voice similar to it, and it's so... It's so pleasant to my ears! It's smooth, and ahhh I can't explain it. Looking back on the Leaving Neverland BS, I realized that every time one of these guys open their mouths, it’s like we’re talking about different predators. This is a wonderfully written post. They make many good points, like how Lenore always finds a way to relieve herself of responsibility when she abuses Hector ("you hurt me and that's why I beat you", "Striga wants you to wear the leash, not me", "the others are planning to use mercenaries"), which is scarily realistic. Or the part where she asks Hector if she can visit him again, as if he had any choice in the matter. I commend this person for picking up so many details, some of which I had missed or forgotten myself. I don't agree with everything, as I believe they overestimated Hector's characterization and ignored how blatant Lenore's lie of "I want to run away with you" is, but I can feel how passionate they are and invested in this potentially novel narrative about how subtle abuse can be.

And I keep thinking about all of this got squandered in S4. How this disturbing depiction of abuse got flattened into dick jokes and "you're the only one who listens to me 🥺" and Lenore blithely dismissing the one time Hector dared to be annoyed at her "solving his problem" which got treated with the same levity as Greta making a cheating joke out of Alucard's own rape.

I wonder how they reacted when S4 comes out and the show does exactly what they have criticized, sanitizing Lenore because she is a cute woman and suddenly showing her fake, superficial kindness as genuine and a valid reason Hector would love her, not with the love of an abused dog but real genuine affection.

And he definitely had real feelings for Lenore, however falsely they were invoked. It's possible they still exist after his enslavement. I'm hoping not, but it would be an interesting conflict to see play out. Loving and hating someone who's been alternately kind and cruel to you is a tough spot to be in.

This is what really depresses me about the Lenector story. It is not impossible that Hector would still have feelings for Lenore, because he has such low standards that things like "actually keeping her promise of giving him free roam of the castle" and "going to him to vent about her issues" would be taken as signs of love, and confuse his abused brain. Hector crawling back to Lenore as his only reason to live? It makes sense! It's awful, but it makes sense for someone like him! He has nothing left, he thought he'd be killed but he was given another chance at life, and his first instinct is to cling to his only certainty in his miniscule world.

It should not have been the emotional climax of his arc! Not in a season that is so deadset of giving everyone happiness that they fucking brought Dracula back and allowed him to go on a honeymoon with his bae!

The resolution of this story about abuse is that Hector needed to grow up and let his abuser find freedom in death! A freedom that is specifically framed as Lenore freeing herself of... herself, basically, of everything she has done and might do, not out of guilt but out of despair that she lost all the power she had and might go insane eventually. Not him finding another place to live now that he is free, not him realizing he is worth more as a human being, bro barely even cares about his new life as Isaac's consort or whatever the fuck he is for him now. No, it is never about Hector. He wanted Lenore, Lenore didn't want to stick with him because she's depressed, and we are meant to find oh so tragic that the two star crossed lovers will not have a meaningful touching relationship after

kind of related but not- I'm genuinely sorry to be posting so much or about Lily Orchard, guys. Prior to Courtney coming on and telling us her story I was mostly just taken aback and angry with Lily as "one of those critic types" in my circle of vision.

It sucks -and yeah I know other critics don't want to hear this+Lily will use this fact as an excuse to discredit ppl's complaints abt her. but I think a lot of us were initially exposed to Lily because they knew of andor were fans of her cartoon criticism content. In my case I knew Lily from her days of Bronydom and have watched her make more and more meanMEAN material even w it's not about internal fandom dramacallouts. Back in those days and up to last year I could say of Lilly the same thing I'd say for a lot of people who annoy me online: I think she's a bully. Which is still bad, it's just not 'criminal', inherent. Comparing her to Rebecca Sugar, Lindsay Ellis, Contrapoints or VivziePop would be stupid as she really doesn't have even half the portfolio or wherewithall as any of those people -or even Zena and Poppy, not that they're angels. Lily was/is annoying because she'd use other people's genuine concerns and talking points. There's a certain takenupbyaltlight-term that I begrudginly would love to use for Lily that REALLY hits the nail on the head with her, be it as a fan, a critic or an activist. But I won't use it. But then, I actually looked at some of Britt's receipts and skimmed bits and pieces of what remains of Stockholm (I think you all already know this but @britts-galaxy-brain the links are missing now). For years, I'd known and listened to others honestly harp on Lily as some kind of counter-initiative for her going after their fav foalcon people. I assumed it was more of the same. It's not. Lily 100% wrote cp and is trying to hide it. No not fiction abt young adults that delves into erotic and sexisms; not stuff with aged-up child characters being big boobied of themselves thru the gaze or r34 artists. She wrote cp.

Essense of Thought's and that one hour long video talking about Stockholm were the first real horrifying revelation. Then I read through Brittney's saved messages from Lily and 'Tara'. Then I saw Patch's video.

THEN, Courtney came out and told everyone on here and her server everything we needed to know. I don't abide by everything Courtney says, especially about her abusers but I mean they're her abusers and please stop asking her to like the children who're valued more than her in the lives of her abusers, or at least maybe vent openly not to Courtney directly about your fear for those kids Cameron has. Yeah, I'm also concerned but idk there's got to be a better way to handle this. Anyway, as previously stated, I believe Courtney, Britt, and Patch. There's no way that those people have faked that stuff. I've heard kind of stretched explanations being true, but there's no way Stockholm was "edited by pedos" like Lily's saying it was I know I'm missing a few folks in there but I believe a lot of people have been genuinely victimized by LO and aren't just acting out of transphobia, bigotry.

Of what I can attest based on what I've seen, I KNOW that Lily Orchard wrote 'fluffy' foalcon and is saying she didn't, and also that the woman hates the word "queer".

Of what has been shown to me, I fully BELIEVE Lily Orchard is an abusive, sockpuppeting predator. Not only that, she's hiding behind other predator's existence to lie to her audience of other abused people to convince both them and herself that she couldn't possibly be a predator.

In 2013, what was 10 years from now, there was a controversy in the MLP fandom where a minor rose a (not undeserved) stink abt the askblog Princess Molestia and how it was making light of r*pe, intentionally or not. Lily Orchard is an awful human being. She does not have intrusive thoughts or fears of acting on those intrusive thoughts sometimes, like me and other people do. She has sexual and violent urges that she hides enough form the public to not make her followers suspect anything. She's twofaced and takes out her probable self-hate by attacking other predators. She's all deflection and lies. I can not believe a thing that vile woman says. Neither should you.

The biggest means of fighting her I think we all can do of is refusing to use her critical tag w we talk about her. Spam her "own tag". Enough hiding and denying who this terrible bigoted abusive woman really is.

Salem and Majora feed off of each other’s need to exploit and desires to not have to do much of anything to be “successful” in life.

Majora can get a job, they have posted about finding a job. NOW PLEASE NOTE that you can be disabled and have a job, but they are not disabled to the point where they physically cannot work. They exaggerate and dramatize everything.

soooo 3yrs ago i came out of an abusive relationship (psychologically abusive) and i also got SA'd and i got on antidepressants as a result bc i wanted to off myself.

it's taken me all that time to only begin to digest it.

i tried meaningless sex to regain control, on the advice of a friend, but i hated it. i was 'ever interested in it before, and after it only left me feeling used for my body, like i was in my relationship. only a body.

the men around me are mostly bad models : my dad is sexist, racist and homophobic, my brother is comfortable being in denial that he needs to do something with his life, something he can support himself with, my cousin fucks everything that moves but cannot form meaningful relationships, another cousin is an alcoholic who collects baby mamas like pokemon cards, my sister's boyfriend has done nothing for her birthday ever since they got together even though she cries every time...

only one of my cousins is in a happy and healthy relationship with a wonderful girl.

the very few men that have hit on me in my life were catcallers or men 10+yrs older than me, so obviously i attract predators.

so these past months i've been feeling myself becoming a misandrist. and i know it's bad. when i talked with my therapist about it, i don't think she understood how bad it was, since all she told me was that not trusting from the getgo was a safe thing, and that my thoughts are just thoughts

but i've been weaning off of my anti-depressants since the begining of the week and i. hate men ? i feel like they're all babies, 3yos with a huge but fragile ego who will lie, manipulate, harm and throw tantrums to get what they want out of you.

i know that the solution would be to frequent more good men, more good than bad, but i am convinced that they are so few that i will just expose myself to more harm. i also am a severe introvert, and even playing online games annoys me (and wouldn't be a solution because my system would argue that "sure, i found good men, and they are on the other side of the world, so what's the point ? the men i have access to are still toxic"). actually, i'm sure that even if i met some, it would take a huge amount of time and convincing for me not to consider them only the needle in the shit pile.

and i know that it's my trauma because gay men ? i don't feel threatened by them. i'm sure toxic gay men exist, but somehow my system thinks that the gay men are MUCH less likely to hurt me.

idk how to get past this. idk where to even begin without having to force myself into not being an introvert, which is not possible.
