I'm shy. I'm not like 🥺👉👈 kinda shy. I'm the 😐🧍‍♂️kinda shy. Which is why social interactions I participate in mostly ends up with 80% awkwardness and 20% conversation and even that's stretching it.

There was this one time I did a presentation in front of class and I was nervous asf because all the ones that presented before me was put on the spot by our teacher, who's infamous for being scary but unserious and loved to make inappropriate jokes (Both the sexual and straight up 'not something you should be saying to your students' variety).

When it was my turn, I hadn't even began my presentation before my teacher said something inappropriate, shipping me with my seatmate or something to that effect. I was awkward and embarassed, since I actually had a frenemy type relationship with my seatmate coz he's an asshole. And my classmates told the teacher exactly that. But also added the additional information of who my ex was, so the teacher could tease me properly ig.

New material acquired, teacher locked and loaded before shooting that stupid question. "Did you love him?" The teacher asked.

You know why I hated this? Besides the fact that I'm an awkward motherfucker, shaking in my raggedy sweater in front of 40+ students and a menace of a teacher? My ex was in that class too. So how did I respond to that?

After a few seconds of anxiety building inside me and sweat balling inside my palms, I averted my gaze from the class and said,

"Anyway," in the same tone as Ross did but with palpable awkwardness. My voice cracking when I laughed nervously.

And the next turn of events rocked my world upside-fucking-down.

I made the entire class laugh.

Full on cackling, hollering, banging on their desks, bent over and clutching their damn stomachs. Even the teacher.

This was years ago and I'm still riding on that high.

I'll forgive Kwan for the blocking cause my boy is Going Through It and I did love that they joined to keep him company, and mika helping jules beat him?? GOD!! 🥺

i love them sm!! why are they giving this to me now when midori is about to leave the show. i should not get invested in her and jules. but alas i fear it is too late. idk there is just something so sweet about them :(

I was rereading the correspondence included in Pride and Prejudice, and I'm always amused by the "Yours, etc." used at the end of several of the letters simply because it was too much work to write it out the sign off in full. But what really gets me is that Mr. Collins letter to Mr. Bennet at Lydia's elopement is the only one to end with:

"I am, dear sir," etc., etc.

Like Austen is physically tapping you on the shoulder, going: "look, I'm not going to write out any of these commonplace civilities, but I do need you to know that Mr. Collins uses much much more of them"
