Inspired from @allbeendonebefore' s universe, let me introduce you to Larissa, a major Thessalian city, and Tempe, a small village near Larissa.

They are referring to the train crash that happened on the early hours of March, where two trains, one carrying passengers the other carrying goods, collided near Tempe. The collision resulted in the death of 43 individuals and the injury of 86 individuals thus far, and it was the result of the Greek government's weak handling of the situation.

It's frustrating considering that experts always warned that an accident like this could happen eventually, yet the government never listened. And also, that the majority of passengers were university students returning to their families after having a blast in Patras, where they celebrated a carnival festival for the first time in 4 years.

Larissa's "You are not cursed, Tempe" refers to the instant reaction of some people claiming that the reason behind the crash lied on Tempe's curse. Which has nothing to do with anything! It was all the government's fault and these young people would enjoy a pleasant time with their loved ones now!

Let's hope an accident like this won't happen in the near future! 🙏

It took him several days before Aphrodi figured out a way that he figured would shield him from detection so he wouldn't be kicked out like that again. He was aware that it was possible that Luci had charmed him or something, but he didn't think so. He had honest eyes and he wanted to see him again.

So it was that he eventually ended up appearing outside Lu's mansion. "Well..." Aph said as he approached the large structure. From his research, he found out that most people couldn't get there.

The house had seen better days from the outside...and what were those yellow things?

Adjusting his backpack, and moving closer, Aph found a ton of rubber ducks? Seemingly thrown out the windows. "What the..." Aph said as he picked one up. "Cute..." And then the thing flipped and spat fire at him. "Ow...shit." Aph cursed as he waved his hand before going up to the front door and pushed it open with a loud creak.

"Hello? Luci?" Aph called out as he stepped inside, moving warily around a pile of magic-tastical back-flipping rubber ducks...

"Luci?" Aph called out again as he moved forward. Possibly the other wouldn't detect him outside either, thanks to his new shield, but now that he was in his house...

In my rewrite Aaron is like Aph’s mentor and he calls her kid like 24/7, so when Shad returns with Aaron’s body he made this whole assumption that Irene is just under a new name and used Aaron as his replacement and shit

So with this, Aph immediately realizes that things aren’t right because

1. Aaron is supposed to be dead, like very dead

2. I have this whole thing where Aaron is very very warm temp wise so when Aphmau goes to touch him and he’s ice cold (because that is very much a dead body) she’s like ���wtf”

3. Shad has completely mistaken what Aphmau and Aaron’s relationship was so he’s trying to like be romantic & shit

This all basically ends up in Aphmau going “Who the hell are you, because you are not the man that I knew.”

I`ve also went to Hetalia: World Stars Collaboration Cafe yesterday. The collab cafe is held at Animate Cafe 4 in Ikebukuro from September 16 until October 12, 2020. Only take-out orders are allowed. Also, they`re only allowing a limited number of people to enter the cafe because of the `rona so, depending on the day and time, you might need to reserve in advance if you`re planning to go.

General Shadow Knights headcanon post:

They have a higher tolerance for poisons, including alcohol, caffeine, and various drugs, thanks to having different biology and higher body temps. While this means they may be the only one left awake (if a bit woozy) in the event of a mass poisoning, it also means they have a harder time getting drunk, high, or caffeinated. (Aka recreationally poisoned)

I also hc that this means Laurance was awake for longer than Aph or anyone else when Michi poisoned them, but eventually fell asleep too. Michi rlly fucked them up. I don’t think she was super familiar with poisons so when it didn’t work quickly she kept giving them more. Thank fuck she was poisoning a shadow knight, a jury of nine member, and irene herself and not some random humans

Their body temperature is higher than a normal humans’ and they feel feverish to the touch. They’re generally chilly in the overworld and need to wear more layers to keep warm outside of the nether. Just imagine they have a permanent high fever and you’ve got it pretty much right. 

Because of the above point, they have very strong immune systems against overworld sicknesses, since their bodies can burn up the invasion without hurting them, as long as they’re not already compromised. Nether-native bacteria and viruses are used to the heat, though, so shadow knights can get sick with them like any normal person.

If a shadow knight is sick, their internal temperature can drop. In the overworld, they may finally feel warm, and in the nether, they may feel uncomfortably hot. (It’s a reverse fever.) When their temp is low, their immune defenses are too.

Shadow Knights have sharpened teeth and canines. The appearance can vary a bit between people. Laurance’s look like a classic vampire pair, which he loves to joke about once everyone gets used to it. Zenix has sharklike teeth. Gene has two pairs of sharp canines. 

Shadow Knight fangs stack with any unusual teeth you had when you were alive so meifwas and werewolves and the like get Big Fangs

Shadow Knights have scar tissue from the wounds that killed them, as well as any scars they had while alive. Gene has a ring of jagged scar tissue around his neck because he was beheaded. Vylad has a starburst in his left mid-back. A stab wound.

The immortality that shadow knights receive isn’t “true” immortality; it only prevents them from dying of natural causes. You live as long as nobody puts a knife in your back (again). 

Fuck it, I’m putting yggdrasil in MCD. Yggdrasil is a lot of things in a lot of media, but in TAU specifically, it’s the name of a leafy plant that grows where high concentrations of magic can feed it. When burned, the smoke does nothing but irritate the eyes and lungs of non-magical creatures, but to magical creatures... well. It acts as a stimulant. It’s famous in TAU as “demon catnip” and is known for making a certain demon act like a stoned kitty.

Since shadow knights are magical creatures, it works on them. It also works on Travis. And Lucinda. And probably Aphmau. Any character that is of inherently magical origins can use yggdrasil

We just found a hedgehog outside and as the APH aren't native to midwestern US - I'm 99.99% sure she? is a dumped critter. What's the best APH housing that is relatively clean? I'll admit, I'm squeamish about bio just on reading, no bugs please. She can have them as snacks, but not housemates. She's got a 72 gallon tub and fleece for now, all we have, but figured it's better than outside and the cool weather. Also - what food? She didn't like the cat food, egg was yummy.

Hey, I just saw APE’s post and tag, glad I checked my asks too! Thank you for getting this lil girl inside, the poor thing. :( Definitely much better off than outside!!

First thing, temperature. Definitely make sure she’s staying warm enough - At the very least, somewhere between 73-80F is recommended, and relatively steady. I usually go for around 75F as a pretty good medium temp that most hedgehogs will be okay with. You may need to get a heat lamp and thermostat in order to keep the temp good for her - if you do, make sure to use a ceramic heat emitter bulb, not the bulbs that emit light as well. 

For food, you may have a bit of a rough time with that at first. Hedgehogs can be really picky & usually don’t do well with sudden food changes. Since you don’t know what she’s used to, that might make things difficult. Go ahead and leave some cat food in her tote anyway for now. You can try getting a couple other brands to try - Petsmart & Petco usually allow returns within a month, though I think that’s on hold atm due to the pandemic (but they’re honoring returns when they do accept them again? Iirc the sign at my local Petco right). The main thing to watch for when looking for foods is protein percentages between 28-35% and fat percentages between 12-15% (unless she turns out to be a hard keeper & needs higher fat, but that’s rarer than potato hogs). Another option is Hedgehog Precision diet, which we’re using for one of our two (other girl is picky) - https://shop.hedgehogprecision.com/collections/staple-diets

Egg is a good idea though! Hedgehogs shouldn’t go very long without eating (more than 24 hours, really), so getting any food into her is most important. Scrambled eggs, cooked chicken, wet cat food, baby food are all good options to get something into her until you guys can find a cat food compromise.

For insects to supplement her diet, Rainbow Mealworms is a great site & you can get really good variety there! I tend to freeze most or all of them & feed them thawed, which works fine. 

For her cage, when you can, aim for something that’s at least 6-8 square feet if at all possible. Vivs tend to keep heat in better, but are more expensive. C&C is a cheaper option if you wanna DIY. Totes work in a pinch, but aren’t my favorite at all. The only totes I’ve found that I’m willing to use for size are the ones we’re currently using for our girls - Christmas tree totes. But I’m not sure you can find them anymore right now. 

For bedding, fleece is generally pretty popular in the States, but not necessarily the only/best choice for everyone. I don’t particularly like the store-bought options we have in the States though - paper bedding usually dries hedgehogs out really badly, and wood shavings run the risk of giving them mites. You can do naturalistic substrate without including the insects if you want - mix soil, sand, and Eco Earth to get the right consistency, but just skip out on the insects. You’ll just have to change out the substrate more often. I would guess spot change the most used areas as needed & then plan on changing the whole thing out anywhere from once a month to every few months, depending on how messy she is! Some hogs are good at mostly going in one place, some don’t care.  Bioactive And Naturalistic Mammal Setups Facebook group will have more information if you wanna join.

Don’t forget to get a wheel! Needs to be solid surfaced and ideally 12″ in diameter. Handmade bucket wheels are the best, but can be a tad small, unfortunately. If she’s a small hedgehog, they should still work. If she’s bigger or longer, try to find something a little bigger if possible. Store-bought wheels are mostly not great, unfortunately, but Comfort Wheels are safe, if hard to clean & annoying. Avoid Silent Spinners (cracks catch & tear off nails), and ignore any advice you may see about inserts or covers to put on wheels - they’re just a bad idea even though they seem to be getting annoyingly popular. 

And last thing - I know this may also be difficult at the moment with the pandemic, but try to get her in for a vet appointment when you can, to make sure she’s doing okay after her adventure. And it’ll be useful to have a vet on hand bc hedgehogs have a knack for needing them, especially at inopportune moments.

So FACE is very disconnected in my AU, unfortunately. It’s hard to write something that makes sense with the continuity of the blog but i think ive got it.

Alfred and Matthew are twins and grew up in Michigan, USA. They attended World Academy for high school, the American based international school I use for this AU, with a majority of the other characters, including Gilbert, Francis Elizabeta, Ludwig, and Antonio. The other characters took their education (or previous) in their respective countries (Roderich went to a prestigious family-run music private school, Gilbert and Ludwig spent their earlier grades in Germany, Elizabeta joined them from year 7 onward. Arthur went to an English boarding school). Theres a handful of exchange programs, with some going abroad (Eliza went to Austria, Ivan came to W.A.)

With that established, I mentioned before Alfred was the “All-star American school spirit student”, student council, football team, exec. of many clubs, huge jock (Matthew is a Soft Jock, complete sweetheart, loves doing rallies and also student council). So one day he figures he needs to bump up his academics a little so he goes to a tutor who happens to be a temp. exchange student from England looking to earn a little money to pay for his uni funds. they get along just fine but dont meet up until much later.

Everyone in Alfred’s year graduates. By now, Arthur is full punk and is hitting it off with Francis real hard. Of course, Francis knows Alfred because everyone who goes to that school is well acquainted, and they talk about Arthur lmao. Francis eventually can’t find that spark with Arthur anymore (and is lowkey crushing on his brother instead), so they break it off. Arthur mellows out and attends the same university as Gilbert, studying anthropology and cultural history.

I don’t want to say Alfred might have had a typical American jock crush on a total nerd in high school but thats kinda hhhRRRhghGH because in that situation, I’d imagine he’s 16-17 and Arthur is already 20 and that just. wont ever, and shouldn’t, work. Arthur is kinda mousy though, so he looks an awful lot younger than he is. He talks like a grandpa though

Also, idk why I want to throw this here, but my World Academy alumni include all the “aph ancients”. So Alderich (Germania), Romulus (Rome), Athena (A. Greece), Nefetiri (A. Egypt), Genevieve (Gaul) and Alicia (Britannia). They’re the class of 87. The ones enrolled currently include Leon (Hong Kong), Michelle (Seychelles), Emil (Iceland), and Mei (Taiwan) (and others). Wendy (Wy) and Peter (Sealand) are both in a school in England at the moment though so idk if i want to change that just yet.
