We have a house of lazy & semi busted people and dogs, so we're very chill.

Dogs go out and get breakfast in morning. Everyone leaves for work. Our housemate is off 2 weekdays a week, so they might get some extra time outside in that case.

Once I get home, they go out again, may stay out for 30-60 minutes when it's nice out. Sometimes just sniffing, sometimes treat snuffle in the grass. Then back inside for evening cuddles. Sometimes the chis will play together.

When the weather isn't the devil's asshole out, we try for a walk or two a week for Addy and Spring, just a block or two. Addy is starting to struggle with 2+ blocks though. Emma can't go for walks yet due to fearfulness.

Weekends don't change much - mostly it's just more cuddles and maybe more outside time. I'm trying to get better at giving some enrichment like lick mats, chews, and stuffed toppls. We also used to do a lot of destruction enrichment with treats in packing paper balls stuffed in boxes, we need to get back to doing that once a week or so. Addy and Emma especially love shredding.

I have a question for all of dogblr.

What does an average week, day by day, look like for you and your dogs?

I feel like the internet is really scewing what daily life looks like for most people and I really would love to know what it actually looks like.

I never feel like I'm doing enough.

Ed had a feast yesterday - 2 large superworms & 2 large roaches! AND he still ate half his salad after even! It was such a joy to watch his head muscles working hard on eating the second roach - he really had to work at it. And he had such a nice full belly after & pancaked for a good bask.

I went back to see him later, while he was relaxing near the basking spot & he was just so content & chill. He let me pet him a bit too.

And he has his first nose trumpet with us! His nostril is shedding, so the loose skin is just hanging out there until it fully comes loose. You don't want to pull at old shed on dragons, it comes off when it's ready.

I made myself sad over a Craigslist dragon this morning, so now I'm hanging out with Ed.

My to do list for the next week before Crab Con is only like 23 things long, it's fine it's cool everything will be fine right

literally though if you feel like your life is slipping through your fingers and every day goes too fast… try doing hard things, not just taking the easy route, like reading and making art and exercising and cooking a meal from scratch and journaling, doing these things without distraction, without being absorbed on a screen… the time will stretch and you’ll be reminded that life is long and beautiful if you make it so.

Update: he finished the rest of his salad on his own a while ago! I'm seriously so thrilled!

So far, FaunaLux bulb was absolutely worth the purchase - Ed was hanging out on basking spot when I went in to feed him, beard bright orange. I went to put the plate in & he immediately went EYYYYY and ate half the salad while I held the plate for him. 😂

Prepped all of our lick mats & some puzzle feeders for enrichment for the next week or two! Meant to do it last week, but oh well.

There's various mixes of beef broth, chicken baby food, kibble, watermelon, banana, peanut butter, plain yogurt, and some plain boiled chicken. The girls enjoyed taste testing & helping clean the spoons. 😂

It feels like such an Animal Person thing to be so satisfied about achieving Healthy Poop in your pet. I have Ed's basking spot actually on lock now, so his poop is well formed, not watery, no undigested bits, he's well hydrated & healthy, it's easy to clean up.... very satisfying!! I did spare you all a picture at least. 😂

what super expensive indulgence would u get for urself if u suddenly came into a bunch of money?? assume all bills/mortgages paid, all friends helped: what treat are u buying just for u?? for me it would be a quilted lambskin chanel bag in iridescent pink

I got Ed's new FaunaLux bulb today & set it up immediately!! This one gives off a section of UVA that isn't currently in any of the LED or reptile lights available otherwise (though there is another light coming out soon that is similar). And with the added light, I managed to hit 28-30k LUX for his basking spot!!

Immediately after turning the light on, Ed is more alert, quicker in his reactions, and his enclosure now looks a lot different to him - he's been examining everything since the light went on! His beard has been bright orange too, showing he's alert & interested!

I'm very excited & happy that we got him during a period where reptile research is giving us so much better info on how to take care of these guys, and we have companies working to give us the right equipment to provide better homes for them.

I did get a picture of both walked dogs passed tf out 😂 And Emma got a frozen lickimat for her evening enrichment & worked on it for like half an hour. Happy dogs

No pics this time, but we did a second outing with Addy's stroller tonight, to a nearby park. We're trying to show her that the stroller is there for breaks when she gets tired, but she can get out again when she's ready. She did 2 rounds in the stroller between walking & seemed to do really well on a moderately long walk!!! The only issue was the muggy weather. We're really excited & happy it's working so well. 🥰

Here's today's Waldos! I'm glad they seem to be enjoying their "sun deck", in that first picture. They have a uvb light mounted at the front of that topper!

The crabs are finally getting active for the summer again!! It's a lot more fun running downstairs to get supplies for Crab Con merch now that there's usually several out to play Where's Waldo with.

My Lowe's rescue hibiscus is looking so much better! Just needed to get the crappy weed cloth removed from around her base roots, and give her more room to grow.

Apparently I got a bonus plant with the hardy hibiscus I got today. 😂 So I pulled it out to try potting on its own.

I also repotted the spider plants & made lots of new plants by separating my first sedum & cutting some pieces with rootlets from the blue spruce sedum (along with repotting the main plant so it has more room to keep spreading).

Decided to try leaving a couple sedum pots outside for now, then moved the others & the cuttings back in to the plant viv. It's getting full! 😂 I did move a few to my bedroom to sit under my desk light - a bird nest fern, Boston fern, and one spider plant. Will have to see how that goes. But I wanted some plant company in my room. 💚

Also I may definitely be becoming obsessed with sedums..... there's so many varieties and they're all so cute! I need like 20 more.
