ACTUALLY I am going to make World Heroes' Mission it's own proper post. I made one for Two Heroes and You're Next, so it feels incorrect not to do the same for this movie because omg it was really good
As I mentioned before, I watched this one with my mom, which unfortunately means I didn't take as many notes but also more fortunately means I got to watch her go from surprised by Bakugou to bewildered by him to deeply amused. She'd never watched MHA before but I think he might be her new favorite character. (Funnily enough, when I saw You're Next with the bestie she also could not stop laughing at Bakugou, so whoever is writing his material for the movies is killing it. I have now gotten to hear my mother's Bakugou impression, which was an unanticipated addition to the World Heroes' Mission experience.)
The villain looked like a cross between Mr. Freeze and Doctor Manhattan, and also was very much giving Young Justice vibes with his character design and bad guy methodology, which was strangely nostalgic. (On the topic of villains, what happened to Beros?? That was??? ????)
We were VIOLENT in this movie which really caught me off guard! That first trigger bomb especially was certainly something, and the like... vision(?) of the pile of hero bodies was A Lot especially so soon after You're Next, where I feel like the physical 'danger' was often much more. Cartoonish. Or video game-ish?
"Are you positive that nothing's wrong with you?" SENT me. Rody & Izuku were an absolute delight. Their goodbye actually made me so sad.
PINOOO. So cute. I loved Rody's quirk. Catch us chanting 'little bird, you can do it! go little bird!' when they were trying to plug the deactivation thingy in at the end.
I really, really enjoyed the hero teams around the world in this movie!! Not only were they just a lot of entertaining groups, but it was fun to see MHA characters in a very familiar place. I was a little sad that we only got one (1) second of Aizawa, but we did get a Mic Moment which was chef's kiss etc.
(I'm not going to lie, I don't actually remember off the top of my head why Iida et al. would still be at UA and not on one of the hero teams at this point in the story. Like. I think that only certain students were doing work studies maybe, but I don't really remember why which means it's time for a refresher. In my defense I Am Very Tired and there are a lot of things vying for brain space rn ack)
My one tiny criticism is simply that I do wish we got more of Izuku doing clever things later in the series. I briefly mentioned this in the Sports Festival rant a couple months back, but after a certain point we stop seeing him being resourceful as often and focus more on OFA being Really Strong. Again, this is just kind of the way of the story, so it's not a legitimate criticism of this movie, but I really thought he was going to come up with some clever way to combat Mr. Doctor Freeze Manhattan's quirk instead of just punching him until it gave out.
#liza watches mha#mha world heroes mission#liza blather#ok ok now i really need to get some sleep#but the boops are calling me#anyway this movie was really fun 10/10 would recommend#lately i've been feeling like i'm talking too much about mha on the mha blog which is like. very much a say that again but slower moment.

Outfit count: 3.5 (3 full outfits, plus various accessories)
#this was VERY fun. i loved the dynamics between all the characters and it was overall suuuuper enjoyable. lots of funny moments n slapstick.#but the main conflicts are taken seriously enough to have weight. it feels like a good mix for a lupin movie! also it was really#well animated i cannot stress that enough. i love the style of this movie. tell him to arch his back and then look back at me, mean. like a dragon
ok I wasn't going to make a post about this but unfortunately I have no choice. I have just watched the 2004 movie Starsky & Hutch, starring Ben Stiller as David Starsky, also starring Dave Strider's very cool very ironic sunglasses.
now here's the thing. you would think that Dave, known cool guy who places a lot of Importance on being cool, would wear sunglasses that belonged to a suave badass character. NOT SO. Starsky is the biggest fucking loser in the world here, an absolute laughing stock, the butt of most of the jokes. here's a partial rundown of the shit he gets into (spoilers for the 2004 movie Starsky & Hutch)
attempts to trash talk a dead body
shoots the tail off an iguana
gets laughed at for wearing a fake mustache
tells criminals that it's cool to be themselves
owns a cooking apron that says KISS THE COP
puts police evidence in his night coffee
gets stabbed multiple times by a child
jumps out of a giant gift box while dressed as a mime
shoots a pony that is a gift for a girl's bat mitzvah
gets told by his boss that his mom would be disappointed in him
leaves a donut on his mom's grave
shoots his boss while trying to do a trick shot
drives his car into the ocean for no reward
meets the future version of himself and exclusively talks about driving tips
I understand why Dave likes this movie. It's funny, can definitely be read as ironic, very homoerotic in ways that can easily be played off as just jokes, a really terrible CGI explosion at one point, and Snoop Dogg kicks ass as Huggy Bear. But I'd expect Dave to watch this and thing 'I'm like Hutch, the cool and charismatic one who's above the rules, and my silly friend John is like Starsky who wears a cardigan to work and cries when he tells me I'm a good cop' but he is literally cosplaying Starsky every day. He even has a similar name.
Anyway this movie is very fun, it is a cop movie but all the cops are pretty incompetent and it's not as aggressively pro cop as a lot of cop media, and there weren't any super offensive jokes. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a goofy comedy. 7/10
#dave strider#homestuck#I watched the og starsky and hutch tv show growing up (my dad was a big fan) and the characterization of the main dudes was pretty differen#but the vibes were similar#btw the sunglasses aren't like a plot point (the way the con air bunny is) or even highlighted in any way. he just wears them#chrono#movies

just a tl of mona's q&a from her summery! photobook~~
Q1: Please introduce yourself.
A: I’m mona, a High School student and an idol. It’s nice to meet you!
Q2: What is something that you’ve been hooked on lately?
A: Trying out different foods! As you can see from a couple of the pictures in my photobook, I love to eat shaved ice with tons of fruits on it. I plan on trying shaved ice topped with lots of mangoes next time.
Q3: What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
A: I stretch out, just like a cat does. My body is all stiff when I wake up, so stretching feels great. I recommend that you guys do it too!
Q4: What is something that you always carry with you?
A: Lip balm, I guess. As I’m an idol, I’d like to avoid having dry lips if I can help it!
Q5: Do you collect any items?
A: I collect goods of idol girls. Whenever I attend their concerts, I buy at least 10 random bromides, though I’d buy 20 if I can afford them! Also, I have all the CDs of the idols I follow!
Q6: What is your favourite ride at the amusement park?
A: The roller coasters! Like the ones that make you scream a ton, I guess. But that bungee jump that I did on that one TV show was pretty scary~.
Q7: What would you say your strong point is?
A: The flexibility of my body, I guess. I train my flexibility every day for the sake of my dances.
Q8: What is something that you are unable to deal with?
A: I can’t stand horror stuff all that well. Though, I’m the type of person who’d become composed when I’m with someone who’s more scared than me.
Q9: What would you do if you had 5 more hours in a day?
A: I’d play games! I’ve been hooked on a dating sim these days… It’s so much fun that the hours just fly by. I wanna romance all of the targets someday. Ah! I’m not betraying all of my fans with a boyfriend, or cheating on you guys or anything! I promise! This is just a really fun game! I mean it! Please believe me!
Q10: What would you do if you turned into a cat?
A: I’d want to bother my owner! Cats will be forgiven if they selfishly plead for attention, won’t they? I wanna be spoiled a ton too!
Q11: At what point during your Summer vacations would you usually finish your homework?
A: I’d try my best to do my homework on the first day of Summer vacation, but the end of the break always arrives before I know it. So I alwaaays end up barely finishing my homework in time…
Q12: Are anniversaries important to you?
A: Not really~. But maybe I just don’t know cuz I’ve never wanted to fall in love! The birthdays of my family and friends are really important to me, though.
Q13: Do you wait for the entire recommended duration before eating your cup noodles?
A: Nope. I like my noodles firm! Plus, the noodles will soften while I’m preparing my meal afterwards anyway.
Q14: If you could change just one thing about yourself, what would it be?
A: I wouldn’t change anything. Everyone loves me just the way I am after all! …I sure said a really embarrassing cheesy line there, ehehe.
Q15: What would you do if the world ended tomorrow?
A: I’d hold a concert! I’d want to have fun with everyone till the very end.
Q16: What would you do if you turned into the opposite gender for just one day?
A: I’d want to tease my Big Sis, I guess. She’s so pure that I think it’d be really fun to tease her. I wanna make her heart pound!
Q17: What is a must-buy for you at convenience stores?
A: Ice cream! There are new kinds of ice cream every time I go. It’s the best~.
Q18: What gestures could a member of the opposite gender do that would make your heart skip a beat?
A: Eh, lemme think… Maybe my heart would pound if I saw him enjoy a delicious meal? Like the other day, my heart pounded as I watched this boy from the same batch as me eat cream puffs. No, maybe the sight of a boy who loved sweets was just so cute that my heart skipped a beat… I don’t really know for sure!
Q19: If you could live in a fictional world from either a book, TV show, or a movie, what kind of world would it be?
A: I’d want to live in a world where I could use magic. I still dream of flying to the skies on a broomstick with the use of magic.
Q20: Do you think aliens exist?
A: I think they do! The thought that there’s a civilisation that’s way more advanced than ours in a galaxy far, far away is pretty exciting, right?
Q21: Which of the four seasons is your favourite?
A: Summer! Be it Summer live festivals, Summer festivals, or Summer vacation, Summer’s full of events, which makes it really great~!
Q22: How would you describe yourself in a single phrase?
A: I hate to lose, I guess.
Q23: What image do you currently have as your phone’s lock screen?
A: Uhh, it’s a photo of my class’s blackboard that has the deadline of my assignment written on it… I’m sorry that it isn’t cute at all… But if I don’t set it as my lock screen, I’ll completely forget about the deadline.
Q24: Who are you good at imitating?
A: I’m great at imitating my Big Sis! But Big Sis is really good at imitating me too, y’know?
Q25: Do you believe in fortune-telling?
A: I’ll believe in good fortunes! But I’ll completely disregard bad fortunes!
Q26: What is something you’re unexpectedly good at?
A: Crane games! I’m great at grabbing plushies from my favourite manga series and such. Even my Big Sis often begs me to help her snag some goodies from them these days! Crane games don’t just hold plushies, they hold sweets and all other kinds of stuff too! I like them cuz they’re really fun to play!
Q27: What is something that you would like to challenge yourself to do in the future?
A: I’d like to write lyrics and compose music! I want to give writing songs by myself a try. I think that there are songs that only I would be able to write in order to convey the feelings to my fans which would otherwise be unable to get through to them. Those are the feelings that I wish to write songs about. So I hope that you’ll continue to keep watching over me!
#honeyworks#narumi mona#maintagging this for now bc w h y n o t ~ ?#pls correct me if there are any mistakes im tireddddddd#had to paraphrase things here and reshuffle sentences there... but hey no tl is perfect... right~~~?#keeping the tags free of my thoughts bc half of them are just chants for honeypre (rip) revival lmao#aighttttt scheduling this for later and going to sleep~~~~ gn~~~#mona's second album-related tls

What western novels do you recommend? I don’t think I’ve ever read one and was hoping to give it a try!
I LOVE Westerns. I love them even when they aren't particularly good. Whenever people accuse me of hating genre fiction, I'm like, "I think my collection of Westerns begs to differ. I just have DIFFERENT bad taste." (My collection of horror books too)
OKAY SO, MUCH OF THIS DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU'D LIKE TO FIND IN A WESTERN NOVEL.
Perhaps the best Western Novel ever written: Lovesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry.
It's not just me that would say this of Lonesome Dove, I think you can find this on lists of the world's greatest Westerns, it's fairly largely acknowledged as a great American Novel, many books have TRIED to be Lonesome Dove and are not. This book was one of the things Jill and I talked for HOURS about on our first date. We almost mutually changed our last names to McCrae instead of her taking Holligay. She walked down the aisle to the theme from the miniseries.
To MASSIVELY OVERSIMPLIFY, this is the story of a cattle drive from Texas to Montana. But it's about relationships, and dedication, and doing everything right and losing anyhow, sometimes. It's about finding connections. It's about dreams and failures. It contains one of the greatest versions of "the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one" in platonic form. Also the idea that a friend, who is never anything romantic, can be the love of your life.
A fun revival Western: The Shootist by Glendon Swartout
I actually just reread this! So in the 80s and 90s, Westerns became 'grittier' sort of like comic book movies did in the 00s. This is not an altogether bad thing, and it certainly wasn't all the way to 'gritty' until we get to, movie wise, things like 3:10 to Yuma, which actually is incredible. ANYWAY, so The Shootist breaks from a lot of the molds of 60 and 70s Westerns (upstanding law officer, gang of mustache twirling villains, etc) and is about the last great shootist--what a gunfighter would have been actually called in the 1800s--who is dying of cancer.
I know that does not make it sound fun, but it is, actually, and it is an easy read. Lots of fun Western colloquialisms and there IS depth there if you want to go looking for it, but it's totally extraneous to the enjoyment of the book and also might be half made up in my head.
A great classic Western: Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey
Riders of the Purple Sage is actually responsible for helping form a lot of what we understand as being the Western genre today. This puppy has it all: Gunfights, cattle rustling, the moral code of one's own pride, falling in love with a lonely little woman hell bent to make it on her own.
There are so many things in this novel that will come to define the genre, but because it is a little pre-genre, at least in a strong and stratified way that separates itself from the dimestore novels, it's not as formulaic as you might expect and borrows heavily from early 1900s literature wrought large.
A WESTERN Western: Literally anything by Louis L'amour
Am I here to defend Louis L'amour? No I am not. Do I love Louis L'Amour? Yes absolutely. I am not even so much suggesting that you actually read a L'amour book because I think you really have to love the genre to get into them, but boy are they GENRE. Love them. There's like 5 or 6 plotlines between them. I read them in the tub all the time. I don't even count them toward my books read they are such popcorn. Delightful. I gave them away as favors at my wedding.
A modern Western: All The Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy
Now we're getting into the weeds a bit because there are some people who would argue that a lot of what modern Western literary fiction is, isn't really "Westerns" and I know what they're saying but I don't think I agree. There can be great novels of any genre that break genre, and I think this is just one of those. It has all the hallmarks of a Western.
Anyway, anyone who tells you The Road is Cormac McCarthy's best novel is out of their fucking minds and also probably very boring and controversially either doesn't read much or doesn't read much serious stuff. All of McCarthy's border novels are better than The Road, All the Pretty Horses just happens to be my favorite.
A Western that is probably more fairly slotted into Historical Fiction: Doc: A Novel, by Mary Doria Russell.
This book made me stop writing my Doc Holliday historical novel because I can't do a better job than this.

I finally got to watch The Amazing Digital Circus
Okay, so I gave The Amazing Digital Circus a try and OH MY GOSH IT'S GREAT! I love the characters, the animation, and I even got a few Raggedy Ann references from it. The characters Raggatha looked a lot like Raggedy Ann, and some of the facial expressions (mostly on Jax) reminded me of Raggedy Andy. I'm a huge fan of Raggedy Ann & Andy Musical Adventure, in fact, it's my second favorite movie of all time! I loved everyone's design and personality. I think my least favorite was probably Zooble but I still kinda cared about her, but my favorites were Pomni, Ragatha, Jax, Gangle, and Caine! It's so hard to chose honestly, but I wanted to hug Ragatha so bad, she was so nice to Pomni! The humor was hilarious, too! I loved when Caine called Pomni out for swearing, and the jokes. It was really funny and even though it was kind of dark, it's still fun. I recommend it for 10 and up or 12 and up, depending on how sensitive you are. If you're younger than 10, I don't recommend it though.
Also, I hope the creator is doing well and I wish her the best, It's a shame that she's only making money from merch, however, it's fine that it's on YouTube. I mean, she deserves to make money off of this but if it was on some streaming service, it wouldn't be as popular and it deserves the popularity. Plus, the streaming service it ending up on would be making all the money. I also saw the t-shirts and dolls of them and I think they're cute. Go, Gooseworx! We're rootin for ya! Also, The Amazing Digital Circus deserved to make more money than Disney made on their A.I generated a** movie about a chick fighting a greedy king over wishes. Disney's not so great anyway, give the YouTube show that you can watch for free, some love!

Hi, ABL!
Could you give me some show recommendations? I'm going into surgery next week and will be bedridden for a couple of weeks after that. Basically, I'll have a lot of time on my hands. What better way than to fill that time with QLs?
I like the dark Japanese stuff (Pornographer, The Shortest Distance is Round, Dangerous Drugs of Sex, etc.), high heat (Bed Friend, KinnPorsche, etc.), suspense/mystery/thriller (Manner of Death, 4 Minutes, Not Me etc.), and all the angst (I loved the angst in Unknown).
I mostly watch shows from Thailand, Japan, and Taiwan because I like their vibes (unless it's dead fish kissing, lol), but I'm open to try other countries as well.
Your expert guidance would be much appreciated.
Have an amazing day!
Best of luck with the surgery. But also, how fun to have some time to watch things!

ARC REVIEW: A Jingle Bell Mingle by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone
4.75/5. Releases 9/24/24.
The Vibes: roommates with benefits, widower angst, porn star/boy bander, tons of banging; tons of emotional constipation
Heat Index: 8/10
The Basics:
Five years, former boy bander (and People's Sexiest Man Alive) Isaac Kelly suddenly lost his wife Brooklyn—and he'll never love again. Two years ago, Isaac had the first sexual experience since his wife died (I mean, his only sexual experience with anyone OTHER than his wife) in the form of a threesome with porn stars Jack and Sunny. NOW, he's back in Christmas Notch, moping in a mansion as he tries to write a Christmas album. Sunny's in town too, NOT moping as she tries to write a Christmas movie script. It's all too convenient for them to become temporary roommates... and maybe roommates with benefits. But all Isaac can offer Sunny is sex—and while that seems like a good idea to a woman who can't say "I love you", once she starts feeling feelings... It might not be enough.
The Review:
I knew this would be good. But it was better than good. It was the perfect culmination of the Christmas Notch series—the rare series that really just kept getting better. The three main books are all great, but each one was superior to the last for me (the novellas are fab too, but I need to rethink and rank them separately).
They're Christmas-y (but not so Christmas-y that I at all regretted reading this in July... I'll just reread it closer to the date). They're SUPER hot (more on that below). They're body-positive, sex worker positive (Sunny is no longer active in the industry once this story really begins, but she has no bad feelings about it) and deal with actual issues while maintaining a fun, heartwarming tone. Oh, and they're fucking hilarious. It's surprisingly hard to find romcom books that are actually funny, but—here you go!
What makes this book so special is that, while you have the framing of Sunny trying to find Isaac his muse while Isaac tries to help her write her script (almost like... a muse...), this is really a character piece. So much time is spent building up Isaac and Sunny's relationship. While I kind of refuse to call this "friends to lovers" because the reality is that these two are super into each other from the jump—albeit moreso physically than emotionally in the beginning—you do truly believe in their bond. Their emotional connection is just as intense as their sexual connection, which is, um, pretty intense.
And dude. If you read the previous books first—not strictly necessary but HIGHLY recommended—you'll see that Isaac is just... so depressed. Like, not leaving his house depressed. Ironically, his threesome with Jack and Sunny kind of jolted him back to life? And that's all it's supposed to be. So he's not in complete "wallowing in grief" mode here, but he is still very sad, and really only half-enjoying life. But Sunny is by no means a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. She has her own responsibilities. She has her own goals. And she has her own problems—if this book has any weakness (and it's minor) it's that Sunny's problems aren't quite as dramatic or compelling as Isaac's. But they're still valid, and they're integral to her growth. Point is: Sunny has her own deal, and Isaac helps her with her deal just as much as she helps him with his, and they also both have a lot of growing to do.
But anyway, what Isaac's deal gets us is a lot of sweet, SWEET angst. Not the level of angst you'll find in some of Sierra Simone's darker works. Just enough angst to have me feeling the fucking emotions, though. There's a moment late in this book that is the conflict I was SO hoping would come up. A conflict that is honestly quite real, but still a gut punch. And soooo satisfying to see resolved. We may have a "snowmobile for your love" moment. Can neither confirm or deny.
Finally, it's a great time to see everyone in Christmas Notch together again. Bee and Nolan! Winnie and Kallum! The North Pole dancers! Luca and Angel! Krysta and Addison! And we get some really good Teddy Ray and Steph content. I love Teddy Ray. Such a unique character. Rarely do you get a "wholesome porn peddler" stepfather figure in a contemporary romance series, and seeing him get his HEA with Steph was incredibly sweet.
The Sex:
RIDICULOUSLY hot. All of these books are hot, but there was something about Sunny and Isaac falling in love, each encounter becoming more intimate, while remaining in such deep denial about their feelings...
I mean, photo booth sex... creative usage of gingerbread lotion (a big thing in this series)... butt stuff with the HERO as the recipient, something we don't see enough of in m/f romance... And Isaac is a bit bossy! Which we love to see!
You really feel like these two can be honest with their feelings in the bedroom, without words. Which I am SUCH trash for.
Also, loved how casual the book was about Isaac and Sunny both being bi, their threesome with Jack, Isaac being pushed onto dates (by Sunny) with men and women. It's just the norm, which is in fact standard for pretty much all Sierra Simone books. Love.
Anyway, this is great, a perfect finale for a series I've loved and can't recommend enough. Read it during the holiday season. Read it now. Read it next summer. I mean, read it ASAP because you'll love it. But I might do an entire series reread around Christmas, to be real. These are CLASSICS.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

1 2 and 8 for the toku questions! ^-^
Okay #1+2 is honestly kind of a long winded answer but I will unapologetically let it be that way (but I will tl;dr toku anime got me interested in toku and the first proper live action toku was Kamen Rider Den-o):
I don't think I really grew up watching any toku like power rangers or godzilla movies or anything I just watched a lot of anime and really liked anime mostly
So the first toku property I watched is technically the Garo 2014 anime
And even though I really liked this show I think at the time I just didn't have an interest in live action toku (although I have checked out the original Garo recently and its cool and I do want to watch more but I'm too rider-brained rn so its on hiatus for now)
After that Kamen Rider was something I kind of thought now and then that I might like just because I thought the aesthetic was kind of cool but honestly I didn't know much about it, and it really was like a super passing thought not really on my mind
But then in 2018 SSSS.Gridman (another anime based on a toku property) came out and I really, really love Gridman (and the sequel dynazenon) and it's vibes and the fights and like everything about it so I became a bit more interested in the genre. I think it helps that the toku roots are a bit more obvious in it than in the Garo anime which felt more like just a cool fantasy show.
At some point I think because I would watch like gridman related clips and the openings and stuff on youtube the algorithm thought it should recommend me tokusatsu stuff and one day this video was on my homepage (or some version of this video) and I clicked it on a whim I didn't even know it was Kamen Rider related until I looked at the comments
youtube
And I had somehow never been exposed to the sillier sides of Kamen Rider and honestly still knew almost nothing about it other than like what Ichigo looks like (and actually writing this I realize I watched the first episode of Fuuto Pi in 2022 when it came out just because I checked out a lot of anime premieres at the time- making that the first Kamen Rider I'd watched but I dropped it after that episode) and when I watched this I was like "What the hell this is Kamen Rider? It can be like this?? This is so stupid and fun looking I have to watch it at some point"
But it would still take like a year or two for me to decide and commit on a series and if discord is to be believed I funnily enough started watching kamen rider on april fools day last year, and I eventually decided on den-o partially because of that video kicking things off
And then the toku obsession slowly grew over time and now it's overtaken me, I watch very little anime and read a lot less manga nowadays 😞
#8: Comically obvious from my blog but it's Kuuga which is wild since I really do love my other rider seasons I think they're all like 9-9.5/10's but Kuuga is like an 11 and I'm not even done and it's making its way into my like Top 10 fictional media list. It kind of just hits all my personal biases and clicks with me and I will probably write the world's longest most rambly post on it when I'm done.
Anyway world's longest answers over :))
Ends it with Godai jumpscare
#tokusatsu#but more accurately#kamen rider#my post#rambling af#im so sorry#i wrote more on kuuga but was like bro we save it for the big kuuga post instead

If someone you knew wanted to start reading Damian wayne where would you recommend for them to start? 🎤🎤
FIRST!!! you NEED to read batman: son of the demon (1987). this will give you the understanding you need of bruce, talia, their relationship, and also ra's. the fact it hasn't been canon since the 90s doesn't matter because it's still the best book about bruce and the ghul family you will ever read.
then... you may cautiously proceed to batman #656 (2006), while keeping in mind that talia is so wildly ooc that it makes me want to pluck my own eyeballs out of my skull. keep reading until #658, then you can stop because damian disappears for a while after that.
you can read batman #666 if you want to (it's set in an alternate future universe), but damian is bald in it. :( you should probably read it anyway though lol.
next, go on to batman annual #26 (2007). this is the start of the resurrection of ra's al ghul--the arc is good and all, but ra's is so unbelievably ooc that i again want to pluck out my own eyeballs. damian is adorable in it, though, so do read it. but he talks a lot more casually than he's supposed to, that's all you need to keep in mind. (at this point in his character development, he's still the epitome of "spoiled prince," and talks exactly how you'd expect a spoiled prince to talk.)
go through the rest of the resurrection of ra's al ghul after that -- robin annual #7, batman #670, robin #168, nightwing #138, detective comics #838, batman #671, robin #169, nightwing #139, detective comics #839. (please note that the nightwing issues specifically write damian the best, in my opinion. fabian nicieza is one of my FAVORITE damian writers! you know, besides morrison, since morrison created him and all. paul dini is also a huge favorite of mine btw.)
after that, you can go ahead and read batman #675, #680, and #681 (2008).
skip battle for the cowl because you won't really get anything good from reading that lol. long story short: everybody fights for no reason and dick becomes batman and damian becomes robin.
move onto batman and robin #1 (2009). just read it all of it! (the new earth universe finishes at #26 i believe, then new 52 starts.) it's all really good. i also recommend reading all of red robin (2009) and batgirl (2009), damian doesn't show up in every issue but he shows up quite a lot, and regardless, they're just really good books!
you also need to read batman: streets of gotham (2009). again, read all of it, INCLUDING the manhunter specials at the back of the book! damian shows up in those sometimes. :)
also... batman annual #27 (2009) and the other half of its story in detective comics annual #11 (2009).
then, read batman: li'l gotham for some fun fluff. :)
another must-read is supergirl #61 - #64 (2011).
also, teen titans #89 (2011). just read from #89 - #92, then come back around #99 - #100 for maximum damian. it's a pretty good series regardless though.
(one more thing: batman #700 and #703.)
as for new 52, you can keep reading the batman and robin series. but even more importantly, i think you should check out batman: the dark knight (2012) #10 - #15. it's one of my absolute favorite stories between bruce and damian.
besides that, i haven't read a lot of new52 comics, even though i should... or much at all beyond new52, either... but i did read super sons, and i can highly recommend that whole series!
gotham academy #6 and #7 are also super cute new52, sort of AU stories, damian features in those issues and he's adorable and well-written, if you ask me.
so that's where i'd tell you to start! there's way more that even i still need to read, but i'm so bitter about new52 and rebirth in general that it takes me a while to even want to pick up a book from the modern era.
edit: while you could read the batman/tmnt comics featuring damian, i actually recommend just watching the movie they made based on those comics. it's REALLY good.

(p.s.: oh, i’m glad you liked my silly rant about statue!gojo TT 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 it has been rotting in my mind for months now but i’m a procrastinator and i have too many wips… i think it might be that summer is near and i’m super inspired but i don’t know where to begin lmaooo. my notebook is overflowing with half-finished prompts and chapters that are waiting to be completed……. 😭😭) — 🐟 anon
HIIIII MY LITTLE 🐟 ANON!!!! :33
i’m so happy that it’s getting warmer where you are!!!!! the weather is starting to take a turn for the better here too hehe….. but wahhh!!!! beach trips!!!!!!! i miss them i do…. you’ll have to have double the fun for both of us!!! <3333
AND . GULP. that’s a super fun question and also super tough bc i don’t watch …. a lot of movies……… 😔😔 i’ve been watching more recently!!!! but honestly i have a lot of trouble remembering series and movies that i’ve watched….. my brain doesn’t store a lot of them. HOWEVER . yk what i do watch??? and adore????
……. musicals >:33
so here are some musicals that i associate w my jjk favs!!! I HOPE THAT’S OKAY… i got a little too into it i think 😭
gojo - legally blonde
I JUST THINK HE WOULD LOVE IT SO MUCH……….. i know him personally . honestly i would’ve given him the movie if i had followed your original assignment bc it just screams gojo to me either way!!!! i think he loves chickflicks. :3 and this is definitely one of his comfort movies…… the musical is also just SUCH a bop i knowwwww this man is terrorizing his coworkers by singing ”gay or european” in broad daylight (specifically to nanami)……
sugu - the phantom of the opera
THE PHANTOMMMMMMM OF THE OPERA IS HEREEEEEEEE 🎶🎶🎶🎶 …. <- sugu doesn’t sing along to musicals + doesn’t rlly like them that much in general but i know in my heart and soul that he would hum this part quietly to himself . what can i say….. this is just a very classy musical that i think would appeal to him <3333 he’d read the book beforehand too. he’s a lil pretentious but it’s okay :3 he’s veryyyy picky abt what musical renditions he enjoys tho…….
shoko - the guy who didn’t like musicals
MY PERSONAL FAVORITE MUSICAL OF ALL TIMEEEEE <333333 i just know she’d adore it. the blend between horror and comedy is soooo shoko and i feel like she wouldn’t like musicals at ALL lmao so she’d appreciate the meta commentary!!!! it’s just. suchhhh a good musical….. i love starkid so much it hurts………… AND THE WHOLE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE THINGGG she would eat that up!!!! pls watch this one if you haven’t 🐟 anon you can find the full thing on yt and it’s INCREDIBLE i’ve watched it like 10 times!!!! it’s my most beloved!!!!

toji - black friday
ANOTHER STARKID MUSICAL. this one is just…… soooo good and funny and also . tragic. one of the characters reminds me a lot of toji :’3 former veteran w a dead wife…. who struggles to show his son how much he cares…… and the theme of capitalism and money and how it corrupts ppl also feels in line w toji’s character!! but above all else this musical is abt. Family. and that’s more toji than anything!!! :((( this is another musical that i rlly recommend checking out, it’s set in the same universe as the guy who didn’t like musicals but like . an alternate timeline. it’s not my favorite in the series but the songs slap and it made me cry so <3333 yeah.
nobara - heathers
was lowkey considering six the musical for my beloved nobara (bc of the gorgeous women and catchy fun songs) but . i think heathers fits her more!!!! i just feel like she’d ADORE it…… i know she’s singing along at the top of her lungs too LMAO especially to dead girl walking <3333 it’s just such a fun badass musical and i think she’d be obsessed. she does NOT like jd tho god bless 🙏🙏

Greetings, I was referred to try these matchups by a friend of mine who had roped the rest of our house into their shenanigans so here I am: 1. Currently, it's Whose Honey Are You by Fats Waller, particularly:
"Please tell me, Have you really made your mind up Who it's gonna be? Don't you think, before we wind up, We're terrific, you and me!" it reminds me of an old club I met my spouse in and it's been coming back to my mind recently. 2. My enneagram type is Type Eight, the challenger. 3. Not truly, I enjoy documentaries but those kinds of videos ain't my cup of tea. I'm more inclined towards music. 4. I did not have an imaginary childhood friend, not that one I can remember anyways, it's been some time since I was a child. 5. Typically I don't sleep as much but I do like to do so after reading for a bit. 6. I would change it to Leopold. I don't have much of reason, I just like the name 7. I happen to like Aaron's "Your Tsundere Boss Boyfriend wants to talk" audio, it feels real in a sense and shows a lot of maturity in handling a relationship that I appreciate seeing. 8. I don't seem to get the appeal behind David Shaw, he just seems too much like a tough head and needs to get his ass beat 9. Despite their quality, I do like the Hallmark drama movies, not because I enjoy them but they're just fun to mock as I watch them. One that I know is "Til Death Do Us Part: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery" on account of how much a friend of mine watched it while I was around. 10. I do like Aaron, he's has a good head on his shoulders, I can see myself having a good talking with him over dinner. 11. I usually talk about history when I ramble, I've learned enough where I can speak on it and if I'm caught in a mood then I would be caught rambling for too long 12. I don't much indulge in that kinda food, I'm more inclined to a home-cooked meal. Something like Jambalaya would do well for me. 13. My favorite playlist would have to be one my spouse set up for me with my favorite Jazz musicians in there, I listen to it here and there. 14. I suppose the answer to this would be the same to number eight, which is hallmark movies. 15. Something else that I feel could help you to know about me is that...I like having people in my life, I don't act like it much but I do appreciate them all. I also play the Cello and I run my own shop for charms and occult items.
Hmmm… actually, let’s be real. That “hmmm…” is not real, because it’s so obvious who your match would be. How could I pair you with anyone but Camelopardalis?
Like, you like to talk about history? Awesome, Cam was there for the history (because I will believe he’s old as hell until god tells me otherwise.) You like maturity, honesty, and transparency in your relationships? Cam’s literally a therapist; I would hope he’s got all those on lock. I think your personalities and your lifestyles would be instantly compatible, and you two would connect queerplatonically or romantically with ease.
Oh, and what an easy, lovely life it would be, Cam being a perfect fit in your household. He’d get along so well with your spouse, as he strikes me as an amicable person to get along with. He loves jazz and the sound of your cello; perhaps you two even play together. (I could see Camelopardalis having picked up the piano in all of his years.) He’s an avid reader with a huge collection, so he frequently shares with you, giving you good recommendations for things to read before bed. He loves to loiter around the shop and watch you work, maybe watching the till while you’re in the back or knitting behind the counter on slower days. (Really, the only point of disagreement I could think of is that he genuinely, unironically loves Hallmark movies.)
Song:
Like a song of love that clings to me/ How the thought of you does things to me/ Never before has someone been more/ Unforgettable/ In every way/ And forevermore/ That's how you'll stay
One, it’s a jazz love song classic- the jazz love song classic, if you will. It’s also sweet, singable, and a little somber, perfect for slow dancing in the shop while the rain keeps the customers and bad things away. Two. I couldn’t resist, given Cam’s job in memory modification; it was too punny.
Runner-ups:
Hmm, so James was a pretty compelling option for you. I like his vibes as a match, but he strikes me as more of a platonic, social companion than a romantic one. Vega is a runner-up, because imagining him in your occult shop is really funny and charming. Like, that’s a sitcom right there.
note: @mr-laveau come get yo juice
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

Anyways so I saw Twisters today and it was AMAZING! I highly recommend it. It's very fun and if you love weather like me, it was very cool. Was also sad, (I cried a couple times) but that might just be me being an emotional bitch 😅.
I really like the twist (haha) and how it wasn't really like a SUPRISE thing (like it wasn't too hard to see coming, but if you didn't already have the inkling of it, it would be a real "ohhhh" moment) Will not spoil it here though, that is gonna be under a cut. Mostly I mentioned it here for the pun and I thought it was really good plot wise.
The actors were all amazing. I really hated the soundtrack I have to be honest. I mean I don't like pop country really and I find a lot of post 2000 country to be not my cup of tea, so that's probably why. I know a lot of people (allegedly) really liked the soundtrack though so dont like go into it thinking "oh this is gonna be a bad music experience", bc hey you might like it!
Anyway as a kid I always thought the original movie Twister was a horror movie, and this one WAS one for me GSGDGDGDGD I was like so fucking scared for most of it 😭 I have a horrible fear of tornados
I thought that it was a movie ab a tornado forming and like chasing this couple?? Like it would suck back into the sky and they're like "whew we're safe!" And it just spawns from the same storm cell again and again until it kills them 😭😭 idk why I thought that
I also thought that just watching it would summon one 😭 I really don't know why I thought that
I just remember anxiously staring at my grandmas vhs tape and being asked if I wanted to watch that and then crying "no no no!!!" Agsgdgdgdggdgdgdg
Anyway very very good movie, although some parts were sad, it was all in all a fun movie and a really cool action adventure type film. I'd say it lives up to the hype
Spoilers below:
Okay so the parts I cried at were: when the boyfriend got sucked away and how he died protecting her 😭
The flashback when she thinks he's in the bed with her saying "its okay, I got you"
The videotape he made in the barn REALLY made me cry
The part when the tornado hits at the rodeo, the part with the mom and the little girl. I was SURE that little girl was gonna die or that she somehow got sucked up and the mom didn't feel her absence (so fucking glad I was wrong oh my god)
The part where the movie theater roof flies off and the screen gets torn off and people got sucked out, and when Lily was almost sucked out. (My cheeks were CLENCHED)
I loved Avi's character change and how he left that dickhead in the storm (but far enough away from the tornado) to go help
Idk why but I wasn't expecting so much death? Like graphic death, even if you don't see the bodies, just knowing like "theres people in there" as the vehicles are sucked up made me SAD
I'm glad Ben put down the camera and went to help instead of being like "ah yes this will make good for my story!" And taking pics anyway. I liked that he wasn't like soley focused on his job, that he saw the team helping others and went to help
Also liked how the team was not only hugging Kate for stopping the tornado, but Avi as well. Like they just adopted him into the crew and were glad he was alive too.
Oh and the Twist was that Storm Par was the bad team and the Tornado Wranglers were the good guys. That they only sell the merch to be able to pay for supplies and food to be able to help the victims. That they weren't as they seemed to be. I thought that was really nice plot wise.
Anyways idk if I was crying bc of the emotional impact of the movie, or if it was like my fear of tornados and fear of that kind of damage happening to my family, or both. Like maybe it was both and the existing fear being amplified had heightened my emotional state and what everyone else saw as a bummer made me cry idk
Anyways I do wanna see it again sgdgdgdggdgd 9.5/10 (.5 taken off for the irritating soundtrack)
Edit: wait wait wait the dickhead (I dont remember his name, you know who I'm talking ab if you saw it) was in The Tin Man truck, the tin man was missing a heart. That dude was straight up heartless.
Avi and Kate were in the Lion truck, they both needed courage. Avi needed the courage to ditch Riggs and stop helping exploit people's tragedy for sponsor money. Kate needed courage to get back into storm chasing, to let go of her grief (or stop being afraid of it), to try her project again, AND the courage to trust Tyler and let him look at her plan.
Avi and Kate BOTH got their courage; Avi came back to help, Kate all the above.
Can't say the same for the Tin Man lmaoo
But also ... is that calling the Scarecrow brainless? Agfsfddg idr who was on that truck but 👀
AND Dorothy was the start of it all/ arguably brought them all together in the first place

A somewhat comprehensible essay about how the Chaotic Crossover AU was created
Word count: Around 3000 words.
Approximated reading time: 25 minutes.
Summary: Me explaning my weird thought process and the string of ideas that lead to the Chaotic Crossover AU. I wrote the essay for fun, don't take it too seriously. I'm totally not saying that because I went off topic a few times.
It's seperated into 10 sections so that it'll be easier to read. This is my first attempt at posting a longer piece of my writing as well as an essay, I tried to make it interesting and entertaining.
I hope you'll enjoy! 💚💛💜💙
#1
It was around some point at the beginning of the year 2023 that my mom and I randomly decided to watch the movie Ocean's 8 together. I'm usually really picky about movies because my attention span is terrible and if I get bored I don't wanna watch anymore, but when she told me it was about a heist I was hooked. I love heist movies, I always did, and I loved this movie too, it's fun and actually funny and charismatic, with a decent twist to it that I won't spoil, but I definitely do recommend that you give it a watch.
Anyways, that day changed everything. The moment the movie was over, the moment that I went upstairs to my room, I had no real idea what I was getting myself into. I put on my headphones, put on "Mission Impossible Theme - Electric Guitar Cover by Kfir Ochaion - ALP Guitars" on loop, I took my purple hula hoop and I started to pace around my room trying to come up with ideas while spinning it around like a weird stim toy. Ideas for what, you may ask?
For my oc's to be in a heist together, of course.
#2
You see, my mind is very easily influenced. That's definitely not a good thing to be honest, but I don't know how to phrase it differently. Basically, whenever I watch something I immediately start thinking of oc ideas that have something to do with it. If I watch a movie about cowboys I'll be trying to make a cowboy au in my head, If I watch a movie about a royal ball I'll be imagining them all dolled up at a fancy event.
You can bet your ass, that I, heist movie fanatic, wanted my oc's to be in a heist together real bad. Thing is... at the time, I had a teeny tiny little problem that made this idea a little difficult...
I literally only had two oc's to work with.
Those two being Charlie and Mina.
The girlies. The legends. The og's.
...but yeah, still. Two oc's isn't a lot to work with. I did have Charlie as a plot starter, she's literally a thief, of course she'd want to go on a badass heist to steal a bunch of valuables. But how on earth would Charlie convince Mina of all people to go on a heist with her?
Besides... these two are a fun duo, but they're not entertaining enough on their own, seeing only the two of them interact constantly will get bored real quick...
But did you think that stopped me, dear reader? Oh no, no no no no no. I didn't let go of this concept. I felt a mighty need. I NEEDED to see a group of my own special little guys on a wacky heist together.
#3
In an act of desperation, I literally thought about bringing back my old Ducktales oc's and the Club Penguin oc's I had recently scraped. The Club Penguin oc's were a no go, I firmly decided to turn those into humans and to work on them at some point in the future. As for the Ducktales ones, I'd have to rewatch an entire show to be able to properly rewrite and redesign them and I didn't feel like doing that...
...but then, I remembered two oc ideas that were lingering in my mind, waiting to be thought of. A Making Fiends oc, which I did try to create but ultimately scraped the idea of cuz I couldn't make the design look right, and a Welcome Home oc concept, of a sleep themed character with a moon head.
While I was going to start to work on the Welcome Home one, I still didn't wanna tackle the Making Fiends one. So, in my mind, I firstly created a weird meta version of the au we know today.
I started to design and slowly form a personality for moon girl. While I was doing that, I added her to the heist even though she was nowhere near done yet.
As for the Making Fiends guy... well, he was going to be a self aware scraped character who was supposed to be able to exist only in this au, and nowhere else. It was supposed to be an universe where everyone is self aware that they're characters, and that I, their creator, exist.
The guy was supposed to be very mad at me specifically at all times, because the girls got their own lores and stories in their og universes, meanwhile his only role is to fill up space in a heist scenario.
I remember getting the idea that, before I even post about these two, that I should create a series of fake screenshots where I'd showcase these two without explaining who they are, as a sorta little thing that only I would really understand the context of.
...and this is where things changed.
For fake screenshots you need fake scenarios, for fake scenarios you have to imagine the characters interract.
#4
The very first idea I had for this was Charlie, excitedly breaking into the guys house and then trying to convince him to join her crazy heist plan, and him of course not wanting to.
It was this bickering that I really liked. It was this bickering that I found insanely entertaining.
It was this bickering that ultimately saved both Charlie and Milo as characters.
These two are at their BEST, when they have someone to go against, a rival. Someone to argue and fight with. These two basically shaped each other as characters.
Most of Milo's personality was created while I imagined him arguing with Charlie like they're in a Danganronpa trial. And while Charlie's personality didn't change, it definitely expanded. The Charlie from a year ago isn't the Charlie we have now.
Also, I gotta add this, Charlie and Milo are basically Ash and Five but in a different font, I have realized that only later on, and I really love this dynamic. I won't explain who those two are in detail, if you know you know.
So, we have established that these two helped and pushed each other to become the best versions of themselves.
But let's be real, there ain't no way in hell Charlie's gonna convince Milo, even the Milo we have today, to participate in a heist that easily.
So, what does Charlie do?
Drag moon girl into it, of course.
#5
I thought to myself... huh, what if Mr. Serious had a soft spot for moon girl? And then Milo proceeded to shape Molly's character into place, with one of the most beloved dynamics I've made so far. Molly changed Milo a lot too, of course.
Molly is the thing that made me realize that Milo is at his second best when he has someone to care for, someone to love. Eventually this love did spread to Charlie and Mina as well, but he doesn't show it towards them the same way.
Charlie and Molly changed each other in a way that made me realize that Molly is at her best when she has someone to lead her. A lot of Charlie's personality came to be from me imagining her explaining something to Molly in a cool leader type of way.
And then there's Mina. Now you're gonna say, Mina's the odd one out. Mina's the only one who hasn't changed at all since I first introduced her.
Mina has changed, she just changed the least. All three of them shaped her character to be more caring and less cold, which isn't very obvious... given that it's Mina we're talking about.
Heh... I guess ya could say, that she was too lazy to change any more than that. Mina's the most simple character out of all of them, I don't wanna change that too much. Her simple character is fine, and it's at it's best when it's put together with complicated characters. And welp, we got three complicated mfs right here.
All of these dynamics were born while I was imagining them in the heist scenario. You forgot about the heist already, didn't you? I can't blame you, I did too... for a long time.
#6
I just started to imagine them in different scenarios and those kinda made me forget about the heist one, but, within this au the heist thing did happen... well, it was supposed to.
Basically the au began with them all just being thrown into this white room with four doors lined up before them. Each of them had a missing item from their inventories that they wanted to get back. They got to know each other a little while they were going through each other's universes, they found the items and that was it for a while.
Until Charlie found that a new door showed up in the room. The door lead to the front of a giant building, which turned out to be some rich guy's massive mansion. And of course the mansion was full of valuables that Charlie wanted to get her hands on, but failed attempt after failed attempt... she just couldn't get in.
That's when she realized that it would be far easier if she had someone with her... y'know, preferably three people. And boom she's at it with the convincing. Mina agrees cuz she wants to avoid another one of her aunts weedings, Molly agrees cuz Charlie told her that it's a good thing that they're doing this, Milo agrees cuz Molly is a part of it, and because he's baffled that she managed to drag Mina into it.
And because they were like in a heist together I almost called the au the "Charlie's Angels AU". Because y'know... there's Charlie who's conveniently named that, and the other three who's names all start with an M. I honestly still think it'll be a clever name for some sorta au, but I went for the name Chaotic Crossover AU because it's more simple and it explains what the au is about better. Besides, I feel like if I actually went for the title that's a movie reference I'd have to constantly stick to the whole heist thing or otherwise it wouldn't make much sense.
The only other type of name I considered before I went for the one we have today, is something along the lines of MMCM AU. Maybe the letters were arranged differently, I honestly don't exactly remember. Yeah, I didn't get too creative with this one, it honestly sounds like a band name to me... and yes, I did consider making a band au but nah, I'm going to use the band concept for something else. Also there's lore reasons as to why these 4 wouldn't really be capable of being in a band together.
So they meet up to create a plan, they have fun chatting and messing around for the whole day, only to find that the door which Charlie talked about dissapeared. She wasn't lying about it, she even took pictures as proof.
But, oh well, does is matter that much anyways? Maybe the real treasure... the real heist, was the friends we made along the way.
And, it was.
#7
Besides this beginning, there is no other plot to this au.
The rest of it is just them mindlessly having fun with each other as I put them into random scenarios and funky outfits.
I said this somewhere before, but, the au has no actual ending or middle, just a beginning.
Time doesn't flow the same, they're just meant to stay the same age, time has been stopped, basically.
There was supposed to be a plot at some point, but I realized that I would spoil a lot of stuff from their actual canon stories, and I am always overly cautious with not spoiling people.
Also, the characters here don't line up 100% with their canon counterparts, even if they do for the most part, because I erased their canon problems for the sake of having them be actually happy unlike their canon selves.
Thing is, to what extent did I erase these problems?
Because, for some of them, if I erase the problem then they're not the same character anymore...
So it's basically a weird situation where they are and aren't themselves...
...I'm losing you, aren't I? Yeah, I'm losing it too.
What am I trying to say?
I'm trying to explain in a comprehensive way that the Chaotic Crossover AU makes no logical sense.
...unless, you hear me out about the explanation I came up with because I feel the need for everything to magically make sense.
#8
I present to you,
The Dollhouse Explanation
Which says, that the oc's in this au, are doll versions of the actual characters.
1. The white room with the doors is actually a dollhouse. Every universe they go to is me adding another playset to it.
2. Molly, Mina, Milo and Charlie are dolls. I play with them, making up roleplays and scenarios. I dress them up in different outfits very often, like one does with dolls.
3. They don't age because they're dolls and dolls don't age, so it seems as if time has stopped.
Could some of this apply to the act of making oc's and stories in general?
Yeah.
Does this change anything about the au?
No. Not really.
Why did I add this to the essay?
I showed it to my friend and she said that I should keep this part so I'm taking her word for it.
(She doesn't have Tumblr or other socials but shout-out to her!)
Have I watched too many theory videos on YouTube?
Yeah.
Should I stop?
Yeah, but we both know that I won't. :)
Also, the au was inspired and influenced by cartoons in danganronpa, which is basically a giant crossover in itself.
I'm saying this because, like in cidr, the characters and designs clearly aren't from the same universes, they still kept the each individual art styles from the shows, and I really liked the look of it. But, you could still tell that the sprites are from the same project because of the lineart and shading. It's the same situation in this au.
#9
...this is a cursed addition to this essay that I, on one hand, don't wanna cover cuz Part A of it is the cringiest and worst development fact about the au and I've kinda wanted to just pretend it never happened, but it influenced Part B in a way as to where I can't not mention it, and also I find Part B incredibly interesting.
Ok, so, Milo was always pansexual, but Charlie used to be bisexual before I settled on her being a lesbian.
...I'm just gonna rip the bandage off, Milo x Charlie was supposed to be a thing.
I know, I know, eugh. Look, I will think of many romantic character combinations just in case I might hit the jackpot, I like to explore romantic dynamics as much as platonic ones.
And, for like... a month, I was genuienly planning to make these two slowly get crushes on each other, I was gonna hint towards it with some sorta ship art.
But then, I was reconsidering things.
I started to contemplate the meaning of life, as well as all of my life choices and how they affected my life, me and my oc's. I looked into the distance, and then I took one, good, longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg, look at Charlie. And then, finally, like a light at the end of the tunnel, my critical thinking skills tapped me on the shoulder.
I turned around.
"Her ass would never date a man." it said. I nodded, and shed a tear. It may have taken me too long to realize it, but at least I did.
And that's the story of how Charlie became a lesbian instead! :D
#10
And no, before you ask, Charlie wouldn't like Milo in that way even if he was female, or when he's presenting himself as more feminine like in the one purple design I made for him. She doesn't find him appealing in a romantic way at all. Same goes for Milo with Charlie.
Besides, both have standards... and different types.
Their relationship is far more interesting and genuine if it's presented from a purely platonic perspective, which it is, and which it always will be.
Basically, they're besties, your honor. Case closed.
The same thing goes for another ship I considered while I was still figuring out everyone's sexualities, Charlie x Mina.
I admit, I hate this one less, but still, it's the same situation.
They're besties, your honor. Case closed yet again.
Ever since I decided to keep it all platonic, thank heavens I did, I've always had this underlying fear in the back of my head that, somehow, people are still going to see it as romantic. I remember when I made the drawing of Milo and Charlie standing next to each other in greaser inspired outfits, I was like, oh crap, are ppl gonna see them as a couple?
But no one did. A decent amount of people saw it, and no one said a thing.
And I think that's nice. Beautiful, even.
I've seen plenty of characters which were, if you ask me, forcefully pushed together in a romantic way, despite the fact that they were clearly meant to just be friends. Having this sense of control over things, being able to determine the right path for these oc's, it gives me a sense of peace and satisfaction.
Everything is in its place.
Balanced, as it should be.
Anyways let's talk about how this decision made everyone in this au absolutely unshippable with each other in every conceivable way.
1. Molly is an adult the other three are kids if you don't think this is a no go get the fuck away from my blog.
2. Mina is aroace and would never be in a romantic relationship, so that's a no go too.
3. The only two left are Milo and Charlie. Charlie is a lesbian and since Milo is a guy that's a no go.
This happened completely on accident and I realized it on accident too, but I'm not complaining.
Hooray to friendship! Hooray to platonic love! Hooray to platonic relationships!
They're just as valuable and beautiful and powerful as romantic ones!
Go tell your friends or family or partner or pet you love them!
You'd be surprised how happy they'd be to hear it.
And that's how the Chaotic Crossover AU was created.
If you've actually made it to the end, thank you for sticking around, you beloved madlad.
I hope you have a lovely day! 💚💛💜💙

@pessimisticgh0st you asked for anime recommendations, so I am obviously going to jump at the chance to give them to you. You’ve dug your own grave, sorry.
Madoka Magica - a 12 episode anime that fucks up your mind and makes you lose your will to live. A classic. It’s short, so it’s not much of a commitment, and it’s perhaps the best anime out there. I’d recommended this before, but I’m hoping you forgot everything I said about it so you go in blind. Brief summary: 14 year old girls gain magical powers and have to fight witches. Recommending this anime is always very fun :) There are also 3 movies, but the first two are recaps of the series, so only the third movie (Rebellion) is relevant. This series will not leave my mind. This is the lesbian show.
A Silent Voice - a movie about a former bully making amends to the deaf girl he bullied. I normally hate this trope, but it’s done so well here, god. It really makes you empathize with both of them, especially since they were really young when it happened. Depicts social anxiety in the most accurate way possible. Absolutely beautiful film (I think Tori would love this film). Trigger warning for bullying, ableism, suicide, and violence (I may have missed something, so be cautious). If you aren’t doing anything today, I swear to god, watch this movie.
Romantic Killer - the aroace show. Not a favourite, but it’s definitely good. It’s about a girl who has zero interest in dating being forced into a dating simulator game by a wizard. She does her absolute best to ignore the romance that is forced into her life, and by the end of the show, she becomes very good friends with all of her love interests (found family for the win). A lot of people misunderstand this show, saying it’s anti-aroace which is absolutely ridiculous because the whole point of the show is that you can’t reduce people to mere love interests, and that romance can’t be forced onto people. It does have a lot of romantic elements because it’s a rom-com, though, which makes me cringe a lot of the time, but it’s good anyway. It’s a very funny show with a strong-willed main character. Trigger warning for stalking and sexual abuse, both of which are very well handled in the show. On Netflix.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - it’s a goddamn ride. Another classic. The main characters are so well written that you feel like they’ll crawl out of your screen and live in the real world. And, if you relate to one, it’s like the show is grabbing you by the throat (this is definitely not me talking about Asuka, nope). Touches on every existential question imaginable. Gives you a headache. 10/10. You should probably look up trigger warnings because there are likely a lot. On Netflix as well.
That’s all I can think of for now.
Edit: I’m adding two more shows but neither are anime. I promise they are both worth it, though.
Daria - a sitcom that aired from 1997 to 2002 on MTV (my profile picture is the main character). I’ve been watching it for a bit now. Haven’t finished it yet but it’s very good so far. The main character is very similar to Tori, except she isn’t as miserable.
Pyramid Game - a Kdrama about a class that plays an oppressive game that picks on the weak. I don’t watch many Kdramas, but the plot intrigued me and now it’s an absolute favourite. There’s a canon lesbian character and an implied sapphic romance. It’s also an all-female cast which I love, and the main character is incredibly smart. Here is where you can find it (use an adblocker).

Rating classics I've read so far (because I'm bored and have been thinking about them)
An Inspector Calls: 4/10
UGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH I attended two different senior schools and as such had to read and study this book TWICE. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad. Not at all. I just got so sick of it! I didn't hate reading it, I wasn't lying my head on the desk wishing I could rip the pages out like I was when I had to read of Mice and Men. Don't be put off by my reaction, I do recommend it as an interesting and compelling who-dunnit type story. But I will never ever read this book again.
Frankenstein: 5/10
It was back in senior school (at least seven or eight years ago) so I don't remember much but it was the only book I was forced to read that I didn't actively hate (if I see a copy of of Mice and Men again I will scream) and started my interest in trying out some classics. Overall, not bad at all, happy I read it but wouldn't read again.
Treasure Island: 6/10
An underrated classic imo. Not half as action-packed as the incredible Disney movie Treasure Planet but still an enjoyable read. Not sure I'd pick it up again, but glad to have read regardless.
Jekyll and Hyde: 8/10
Genuinely really good and fun to read. Not too long so there isn't time for it to get slow and boring like most classics, and the characters are really intriguing and interesting to read about. One of the few classics I would actually pick up again!
The Magician's Nephew: 5/10
Enjoyable enough, certainly an odd story with rather bizarre events, but not really exciting enough to have stuck with me. Well, apart from the last few chapters anyway, which I won't spoil. Probably won't ever read again, I don't think my life or perspective have changed from reading it at all.
Black Beauty: 7/10
A very, very good read. It's simple and straight-forward with enough drama and action to be somewhat exciting, and has a satisfying and happy ending. May read again some day.
Currently working my way through-
Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Scarlet: 5/10
The first half of the novel held my attention like a fly stuck in honey. Very thrilling and intriguing! Unfortunately part two so far has taken such a departure from the story that I simply lost interest. I will continue some day, but I can foresee the next few chapters being quite a drag.
Dracula: 6/10
Very exciting! I was actually on the edge of my seat during some of it! It also has some truly disturbing and horrifying events which elicit no small reaction. Unfortunately it has the same issue as A Study in Scarlet, in that it suddenly took a massive departure from the established story and has become a drag to read. Once again, I will definitely return to it. I'm just praying the story picks up.
