I've been wanting to design outfits for your oc's for SOOO long, I thought of doing it for last year's birthday but I ran out of time to commit to it, but I ain't messing around this year!!

I'm a fan of Moonlight Jewel on YouTube, and the moment I saw this redesign of Polly Pocket I went "I HAVE to draw Trucy in that outfit."

I also wanted to draw Dan and Trucy interacting, because their dynamic intrigues me!

So, here's my explanation behind that:

Trucy LOVES playing dress up. She's been doing it with her dolls and herself for ages, but it's gotten boring by now. She tries to convince Elly to be her model, but Elly refuses, since she's not a big fan of makeup or dressing up. Thing is, Dan was in the room too, and seeing Trucy upset made him feel bad, so he offered to be her model.

Trucy proceeds to make Dan look and feel

and Elly just sits back and watches them while giggling a bit. She sees it as unfortunate that ghosts aren't visible on pictures, because she really wanted to capture this moment.

...ngl this took me FOREVER to finish.

I had a ramble written down but I'll summarize it:

1.) Picking the right colors took me over 2 hours because nothing looked right...

But, anyways...

2.) I'm still really slow on the tablet so the lineart, coloring, and rendering took me 2 days.

Not adding this to the doc, but...

- I found this image on the Making Fiends Wiki and I find it interesting. It's basically how Vendetta's parents, Viktor and Violetta were represented on the Nickelodeon website before they appeared in the show. And interestingly enough, because their designs have seemingly not been finished yet, their silhouettes looked completely different. I also find it funny and am slightly convinced that these silhouettes are just Marvin's and Maggie's.

The insanity that you're about to witness are the notes that I took during my Making Fiends rewatch... and with rewatch I mean that I overanalyzed every frame and every line in this piece of media. I wrote down any info that I thought was even remotely or relevant interesting, because I need all of it to be able to write my made up S3 and 4 versions of the show.

All of this info is a mix and match of all of the Making Fiends stuff that is available to us, aka:

The webisodes + the alternative versions of them + the character commentary ones. The Nickelodeon show, the Making Fiends website and the Making Fiends fan wiki.

Why am I showing you this? Because some of these are funny to me and about 70% of this info sounds like I'm just making shit up... to be fair, take some of these with a grain of salt, cuz sometimes I made assumptions about things rather than writing down the obvious.

Don't worry about Charlie's redesign, honestly I feel like I won't change as much as I initially thought I would, I'll think about it...

It's a complicated case of "The og design is so iconic that it won't hit the same if I change it" and "Some details bother me so much that I gotta change something-" but dw about it, once I shift my focus over to her I'll figure it out...

This is REALLY well made!! This is the third animation you've made me, geez RMB you always go beyond and above!!! It's evident that this took so much love and care and effort and time and I can't stress enough how much I appreciate it!! 💕

Every scene is so in character and funny!! I honestly can't pick a favorite, all of them make me smile!!! The faces in the last one crack me up each time, Hatzgang, run- 💀💀💀💀

I WILL be rewatching this over and over again. 🥹

And don't worry about the jail scene, it's lovely as it is!! She'd 100% do all of these, it's so in character and it feels so cool to see her like this!!

Mina related episode/scene ideas that could actually happen in the show:

1.) A scene where Jonny refuses to do something and Mina is like "Well, Karma said that you have to!", to which Jonny is like "No she didn't, cats can't talk!" and then, Mina looks Jonny dead in the eyes and for a whole, 3 unusual seconds the show is dead quiet as Mina quietly looks at Jonny, and afterwards Mina just says "You're lucky I can't curse in a different way." and walks away leaving everyone just frozen at their spots for another 3 seconds, to which Eddy finally breaks the silence by going "That was something. Anyways-" and the plot continues as if nothing had happened.

2.) ( @breadinvader came up with this one! ) "So, Mina spreads a rumor that she has a cursed eye that can turn everyone who sees it into stone. She's very happy with the newfound peace, but her mom schedules an appointment at a hairdresser without telling her because she believes Mina is bothered by her bangs so she should cut them. Mina doesn't like this because if everyone finds out about the cursed eye being a fraud, they might start suspecting that the entire witch rumor is a lie and never leave her alone again. So she makes an alliance with the main characters to avoid this. And hijinks ensue." - What my friend wrote. Also, I'd like to add that I can imagine Ed Edd and Eddy accidentally seeing her with the new haircut and then she basically has no choice but to ask them for help. But, also, they'd still be indiferent about the whole witch thing even after this episode.

3.) An episode where the Kanker sisters hear about the whole witch rumor and then they try to make Mina into the 4th forbidden Kanker sister. Mina is NOT happy about this and she starts hating the Kanker's more than she hates the other kids after this episode.

4.) An episode during the school portion of the show where Mina gets a higher score on a test than Double Dee which has never happened before to him, he usually always has the highest score in the class, so he tries to figure out what went wrong throughtout a lot of mental breakdowns and then just ends up begging her for help. It turns out that the teacher just accidentally forgot to check one of the tasks which Mina points out, to which he thanks her and is like "Is there anything I can do to show my gratidute?" and she's like "Yes. Leave me alone." and he actually listens to her and leaves her alone from then on as much as possible.

5.) An episode where Double Dee realizes that Mina has actually never fallen for one of their scams before, to which Eddy makes it his mission to prove that he can make ANYONE fall for his scams. A bunch of scams ensue and Mina ignores and avoids all of them to which Eddy is literally like "Let's just bother her and call it a scam and she'll have to pay us to leave her alone." and after a while of that Mina is like "I don't even have any money." to which they're like "Don't you get any allowance? For candy?" and she's like "No, I don't even like candy." to which Eddy is like "A kid that doesn't like candy? Now I'm actually starting to believe you're a witch." and she probably takes advantage of that statement to scare them away.

6.) An episode where Mina has to go to another one of her aunts weddings and so she's all dolled up in a fancy new dress. Someone drags her outside and Ed ends up getting a stain on the dress. Mina is mad because her mom is gonna be mad about the stain so they now have to help her get it out or she'll curse them. The rest of the episode is the Ed's struggling trying to get the stain out and other characters also try to clean it but nothing works. Eventually Rolf gets his turn he does some weird crap with it and the dress is spotless, it looks even better than it did before. Mina never ends up going to the wedding because it got cancelled last minute and they're just like are you kidding me.

Random Mina facts I added:

Mina collects DVD's. Her house has a full shelf of them in the living room. She always picks out a movie for the whole family to watch on Friday, since Friday is movie night. Sometimes Jonny's family joins in.

Mina's favorite characters in movies or cartoons are always cats, and no one else.

Mina's favorite food is her mom's lasagna, which is a reference to Garfield.

The other kids in the eene universe all have the inside of their mouths colored in anything but the normal colors because of the candy they eat. Mina's is actually the only one which isn't colored in any special way, because she doesn't like candy.

Random Milo facts I added:

Milo drinks his coffee with exactly 3 teaspoons of sugar, and a specific amount of milk and coffee. He's the only one who can get the amounts right. If they're incorrect, he won't drink it, but he can make it correctly in his sleep at this point. If someone put something into his coffee, he'd know immediately based on the smell, the weigh of the mug, the color and the taste if you somehow get him to actually drink it.

Milo has insults that can shatter the self confidence of anybody that hears them, he chooses not to use them, but he does come up with them just in case.

If Milo was allowed to swear by the laws of his universe, he definitely would, but it would depend who he's around.

If Milo would ever play the Roblox game Dress To Impress, he'd roast everyone there to crisps, and he'd develop anger issues. But hey, at least his avatar would slay every round.

Random Molly facts I added:

Molly gave the sheep on her pajamas a name, it's Uno, because Molly only has to count one sheep to fall asleep. It's in Spanish just cuz it sounds nicer.

Molly wears boxers with a Mr. T. Bear pattern on them.

- I've had the feeling that Vendetta has canon Victor Frankenstein symbolism going on but until now I didn't have enough proof to add it to the doc.

My observations:

1. In Webisode 3 Vendetta did the whole thunder thing that Victor did to awaken the monster, but she did it to awaken the fiends instead.

2. Vendetta gives life to "monsters" constantly.

3. Vendetta's father is named VIKTOR.

4. Rubella wanted to be named Mary before Vendetta insisted that she should be named Rubella. You know who wrote the Frankenstein book? MARY SHELLEY!

5. I feel like Rubella's design is supposed to be inspired by the monster, given the fact that her head is presumably sewn together.

Molly's Inventory

The one thing Molly consistently carries around is her soft companion, Mr. T. Bear.

Visual Mr. T. Bear reference.

Mr. T. Bear is quite a weirdly and messily put together little fella with useless stitches all over, but that doesn't make Molly love him any less.

The most puzzling part about him though, is the fact that he has a zipper on the back that isn't visible most of the time.

What's there when you unzip it?

Stuffing, of course!

...and also, a golden ring, with the name "Zee" neatly engraved on it.

It's been inside of there for 6 years now.

I scraped the oc name essay idea so I updated this with the analysis of how Making Fiends character naming works, and one more fact.

It's under the cut so you don't have to dig through the doc to find it-

- In Making Fiends there is a character naming pattern. It has 5 categories:

1. The antagonists have names that have some sorta evil/bad/dark meaning.

a) Vendetta - revenge, blood feud

b) Grudge - a strong feeling of anger and dislike for a person who you feel has treated you badly

c) Rubella - a contagious viral infection best known by its distinctive red rash

2. Charlotte and Charlene/the good guys have names with nice meanings.

a) Charlotte - a pudding made of stewed fruit with a casing or covering of bread, sponge cake, biscuits, or breadcrumbs

b) Charlene - free woman, spirit or thinker

3. Family members have names that begin with the same letters.

a) Vendetta, Viktor, Violetta

b) Charlotte, Charlene

4. Most side characters have names that begin with M.

a) Maggie, Marion, Mort, Marvin, Malachi

b) Mr. Milk, Ms. Minty, Mrs. Millet

However, characters that are an exception to this do appear:

Ms. Helga, Mr. Bank Manager, Mr. Gumpit, Onion Man

5. Fiends are usually named like this:

a) What it looks like/what it does + fiend/s.

Red bird fiend, vegetable fiends, flea fiends, shrinking slug fiend... etc.

b) Some random other thing that Charlotte names them.

- The school is called Mu Elementary School. Well, it was apparently called Muffin Elementary School before (According to the Making Fiends Fan Wiki) but the sign got damaged as to where it says Mu Element School. I feel like Vendetta thought that the first name was ridiculous so she changed it.

Piper's Inventory

Piper uses her two dress pockets only to carry around a few things she regularly uses, and/or that she deems as important.

Her trusty bubble pipe.

The lore behind it is in this post right here.

Her room key. It's covered in scratches because her hands keep accidentally damaging it, and it has a keychain to show that it's hers. The scratches are already a pretty good indicator that the key is hers, but she likes to be extra cautious, so she added the keychain to it.

Another room key.

It's covered in dry paint splashes.

A notepad and a pencil. She likes to take notes of anything she finds interesting about the digital world. The notepad has an endless amount of pages and the pencil never needs to get sharpened. These two items were gifted to her.

It's surprising that Mina carries around anything at all, but this item is of such importance to her that it's necessary.

A universal remote! Mina can watch television and have control over the channels, at any place where there is a TV available.

She keeps it tucked behind the front of her leggings, given that she has no pockets anywhere, and it's usually not visible because of her sweater.
