Hot take: I really don’t understand why so much of the fandom is horrified by the idea of Syladin and upset it’s (possibly but seems increasingly likely based on what I’ve read so far) happening. Like I completely get preferring them as friends and being annoyed at the thought of that turning into a romance, or favoring the aroace reading of Kaladin, but people here show the level of revulsion you usually see toward incest or adult/child ships and I really don’t get what the part that’s so horrific is.

realizing i've given myself a 12-hr school day twice a week ... well it's the last semester!
#all but one are 3hr long studios LMFAO#to be fair i do way better with art homework than any other kinds. which is why i am in art school lol#im taking an anatomy class that should hopefully pair well with my figure drawing class#(i did this by design)#and my ceramics class will be a nice reprieve from the others#and of course I'm excited for my painting class OMG. i can't wait to see what our assignments will be#my capstone is the big one I'm trying to take as much burden off of as possible.... my#client that I'm working with is very eager and communicative#and getting shit worked out for that won't be difficult at all#we'll have to see .. but i think I'm gonna make it through just fine#my 12hr day consists of three 3hr classes w a lunch break in between the first two. I'm gonna have to figure out how dinner will work lol#wake up at 6:30 leave my last class at 6:15#gulp

to add to your “why can’t they just be friends” post - why can’t kairi and sora just be friends ? the subtle clues in the storyline of KH is def leading down that path
Yeah I don't get why there always have to be a supposedly girl "love interest" character. But the phrase why can't they be friends is never stated for any straight relationships
I'm not going to pretend there wasn't something between them but after the first game, it seems Sora doesn't feel the same.
and I don't know it's not very interesting with barely any chemistry between them. In kh2 what was that reunion between them. It was awkward and their feelings have passed, but Sora being Sora didn't want to lose her and still wanted to remain her friend.
I don't think their relationship as romantic now. I think it's developed into more of a friendship. and in kh3 the paopu doesn't have to be inherently romantic but how come he felt awkward at first and only took it as a good luck charm
KH has a problem every action movie has where there always have to be a straight romantic interest when why can't they be friends and have the female character get more developed.

i know you've already confirmed doing minor what ifs, but have you ever planned or thought of doing a longer one for a happy ending?
(im sorry for asking but these two make me mentally ill in the best way posible. )
The what ifs will be pretty well sized so hopefully they'll scratch the itch for y'all. My goal with the ending is also to make it kind of optimistic to empower other folks who want to write fanfic to give it a shot and make their own content too. I just love the idea of being able to make a positive impact with this story and to embolden others to let their own creativity run free. Plus I'd be cheering if there was a list of "works inspired by" that could sit at the end of the story when it's finished. That way the story (that a lot of people seem to really dig) can live on in everyone's interpretations of it!
#I'm happy just to put my own interpretation out there and im extra happy that ppl like it#but in the ever growing world of Billford i want my interpretation to be just one of many#im so excited to see everyone make their own nuanced take on the pairing#and while i can see ppl are enjoying the fic its never meant to be any authority on how folks look at the pairing#its just one lens through which it gets examined#i am super keen to read other billford fics when this fic is done too#as i have abstained from reading other fics since someone got it into their head to accuse me of plagiarism#i know how serious plagiarism is and i debunked the claims it was probably just a younger author being possessive of the characters#and jealous of the attention being drawn away from their story when my fic was starting up#but the whole accusation really jarred me so i haven't read any other billford while writing my fic#i am so excited to get to pour through the other stories in the tag when this fic is done#you have no idea how exciting the prospect is#and since the what ifs will all be contained within my fics universe i should be fine to start reading fics once kmky finishes#i am so keen to see what other people have written so best believe I'll be asking for fic recs haha#but if other people write stuff inspired by the fic i will be there cheering you on!!#kind of a long ramble in the tags but im just so excited about the prospect of ppl writing their own stuff#this is blanket permission for anyone whos read the fic and wanted to write something for it btw#and pls link it on ao3 if you do so i can show it to everyone!!
