My sister taught me a parenting trick for when kids ask a difficult question like “Is Santa Claus real?” or “What is sex?” Simply ask, in earnest, “What do you think?” and listen. At the least, it buys you time. My daughter, three, in the car one evening, is silent. Then asks, “Mama, will I die?” I just drive. Try to keep the car tethered to the earth. Somehow the trick surfaces within me and I ask, “What do you think?” In the rearview mirror I see her smile looking out at the purple sky. She says “I think I will never die.” I tell her, "That’s what I think, too.” And I do, I do.

DCxDP AU where Dani fakes being an alien.

Dani's obsession with travel also left her with a desire to know more about the places she couldn't travel to, like Krypton and Mars. Considering the vast majority of both those populations are dead, it was easy enough for her to befriend some ghost aliens. From them she learns about their culture and language.

At some point one of her new friends jokes that her ghost powers kind of function like a mix of Kryptonian and Martian biology. She laughs. It is just a joke.

At least till she is in danger. The GIW finally found her. She is scared and desperate and tells a lie. Dani screams out, "Superman, if you can hear me, I am Kryptonian too and they are trying to capture me. Please help."

She doesn't actually expect this plan to work. It was a last ditch hail Mary. She figured she would (fully) die here, but even if he was on the other side of the earth he hears her and comes to her rescue.

But see, actions have consequences and now that she is safe she needs to keep the lie going. It is a good thing her alien ghost friends are willing to help her create a fabricated story about how a Martin and a Kryptonian managed to get to earth, have a child, and for some reason aren't around anymore.

It is not an ideal situation, but being an alien is legal while being a ghost isn't, so what's a girl to do? If there is one thing a child who travels the world alone knows how to do, it is lie and bullshit their way through any situation.

Meanwhile, Clark and J'onn are thrilled and fighting each other for custody.

We drove across the state today to set up a photo frame device for my aunt, and introduce her to Bug. While we were there, we took her and her bf to dinner across the street from her complex, and my mom texted to ask how we'd gotten my aunt over, since we're in my dad's fuckoff big truck and she's not able to climb into it. My dad texted back that he just tied a tow cable to her wheelchair and drove over, and my mom texted me to find out the truth but

My aunt laughed until she wheezed and told us to stop being so mean to her sister, but when we got back to her apartment:

Your post about Sakura and Sasuke was very interesting to read 👀 honestly you headcanon Sakura similar to how I headcanon her lol. The insecurity, self loathing, no one really believing in her.

Kinda makes me sad that the fandom was able to develop so much more for her and not the literal author of the story. But that kinda unfortunately goes for all the female characters in Naruto. Besides Tsuande, none of them really got a backstory or character development. And if they did, it was pushed back for their love interests.

I guess what I’m trying to ask is, if you could make another AU for one of the other Naru girls, who would it be and why?

Yes! Sakura (and all the Naruto women- and honestly half the Naruto men) deserved more!!

For an AU, I would absolutely make Hinata become the Hyuga head and find strength in the kindness and empathy her family tried to beat out of her. I feel like this version of Hinata would suit Naruto better too.
