Trump literally wants to "negotiate" with Putin behind Ukraine's back openly admitting Ukraine has "no cards" (and therefore no chance at getting a peace deal that isn't to Russia's benefit), repeats russian propaganda, constantly antagonises Ukraine, doesn't even want to call Russia the aggressor in a UN resolution, constantly repeats that he wants to improve relations with Russia, doesn't seem to care about providing Ukraine ANY kind of peace guarantee and openly blocks a NATO-entry, gets praised by the Russian government for 'understanding' them, and wants Ukraine to "pay back" US military aid with minerals when even after an abstract peace deal Ukraine will need even more money for rebuilding itself.... And Ukraine's not even trending?

I really like that they made Jor-El speak Kryptonian and Clark unable to understand him. The whole "aliens speak English" thing that happens in every goddamn media has bothered me all my life. Ik sometimes Clark just gets zapped in the brain for insta-second language but that always felt like a cheap shortcut.

Jor-El had a lot on his mind when he set up that magic spaceship okay. The world was ending and he was trying to do as much as he could before time ran out so he could be there for his son. He was rushing. He likely didn't consider Kal would be raised with a whole different language and not know any Kryptonian nor have anyone to teach him.

The treatment of the Tributes. The way they dance for food, they're treated by vets, they're chained to the truck in the parade while corpses are dragged down the street

The little plot line where Lyssie is saved from the bombs by Jessup and defends him on camera

The moment that implies Tigris was a prostitute

Ma Plinth and her relationship with Snows, because it's so Fucked and I can't not think about it constantly

In general the Capitol being kinda uncertain about it all? In the books a lot of them are uncomfortable about it and make it known but here it's just Sejanus and Tigris really

I needed katelyn to snap in diaries like genuinely, I wanted her to lose it in season three and leave everyone and do her own thing for some reason or another. Maybe it was for noble reasons, something akin to her own form of a vigilante, maybe it was selfish reasons. Maybe it was about the Jury, running away from her sins of the past, maybe it was to find the family she had forgotten after all this time, the family she was sure would have forgotten about her as well. I would've liked to see her and Lucinda do a little team up or something, maybe even Abby. I just feel like we didn't get a lot of katelyn lore or character development, and she was so tightly wound in that last season I think she was destined to snap for some reason or another

I agree!! *an incoherent rant incoming* Jean imo def moved on from Kevin (in a romantic way; i think he’s not moved on from the whole ‘Kevin left me’ thing ofc but I think he obviously knows and accepts that he and Kevin won’t ever happen lol). And that scene with Renee was obviously a closure/farewell and they’ve moved on to being friends now (also imo while i like their dynamic i feel like they’d never work bc of the whole victim saviour complex, that’d be really uncomfortable and hard to overcome). Jeremy seems like he’s able to handle Jean’s crazy baggage without placating him too much or pushing him too hard. He definitely needs to work on his own shit first (i feel like the way he went all in on helping Jean is kind of giving ‘I am avoiding my problems by getting too involved in others’ problems’) but I think Jean will be the perfect person to help him with that! As you said he’s super perceptive and honestly very empathetic even if he doesn’t show it in the most obvious way. Jeremy would probably really appreciate Jean’s brutally honest approach lol. They’re lowkey perfect for each other ☹️ TSC2 can’t come soon enough

hardcore agree on every single point you made!! i feel exactly the same about Jean and Renee, as much as their dynamic is sweet, i think it would be really difficult to overcome Jean feeling indebted to her (whereas Jean and Jeremy are both growing together) + ya i think Jean has very complicated feelings toward Kevin but i don’t think he’s actively yearning over Kevin anymore

and exactlyy i definitely imagine Jean quietly picking up on whatever Jeremy’s going through and expressing concern only for Jeremy to try and pull a “my problems aren’t that bad and therefore don’t matter” which i don’t see Jean accepting. especially since Jean has an ‘older brother who cares more about other people’s well-being more than his own well-being’ vibe (underneath his slightly prickly attitude lol) i think Jeremy and Jean are really good for each other, Kevin subconsciously knew what he was doing by having Jean transfer to USC 🤨

Hhhhhhhhhh I’m having so many mixed feelings about this movie. First of all the article title is bullshit, the odyssey has PLENTY of human moments with or without all the monsters and magic. And like I just really don’t think it’s a good idea to remove the mythology from greek mythology, but maybe they could pull it off idk

I like that they’re exploring the themes of ptsd and trauma already in the story and adapting it for modern audiences (in my interpretation, odysseus’ journey is already and allegory for ptsd, but I digress)

I’m excited to see how the portray penelope, the article makes it seem like she’s still unweaving the shroud by the time odysseus gets home (which, if I remember correctly, she was found out before that and was forced to finish it) so I’m not sure if I’m mistaken or if that was a deliberate choice, a minor one nonetheless

Not much was said about telemachus in the article other than that his arc was less subtle than that of odysseus and penelope, but I don’t think that’s inherently a bad thing if it’s handled well (which honestly I’m keeping my expectations low even if that’s a little unfair on my part)

I just hope when I see this I don’t have the same experience I had watching napoleon. That being initial excitement, watching it in theatres and going “okay yeah it was fine” and then reflecting on it and realizing that I actually hate it

Homer’s epic are hard to adapt on screen, I just hope that the return is one of the better ones
